A nice place to walk around.

Unique area on the river front of Savannah. There are shops and restaurants of various types. The history is interesting. Tugs, a riverboat and a huge container/cargo ship came up the river the afternoon we were there.

Such a beautiful town with many places to visit. And an absolutely must for me is fried green tomatoes in one of the restaurants at the river

Fountain and moving statue are both beautiful.

Great shops for candy, food, accessories, gifts, major and minor decor items. The Cotton Exchange Tavern had great eats.

Stayed at the River Street Inn several years ago and loved the stay. We love the Cotton Exchange. I also enjoyed my visit to The Old Tobacco Shoppe.

Very nice clean area to enjoy time. The area seemed much more family friendly than my wife and I expected so that was a nice plus as we werent looking to party. The music playing from the restaurants nearby made sitting on the bench quite enjoyable as our son ate candy from the wonderful candy store nearby.

We really enjoyed our stroll down Factors Walk. We parked on the street, walked all the way down, then we walked back up via River Street. Its a nice way to spend a couple hours.

My wife and I have been coming to Savannah for the past 10 years, we have always stopped downtown to walk and get some pretty good food on the historic strip. This past visit was terrible, there was trash everywhere and it smelled horrible. We have been there for st. Patricks day and it was in better shape. We quickly got our sweets and left the street.

Just as one can see the variable historical layers of human occupancy at an archeological dig at various places around the world, one can also see some of the history of Savannah along River Street as well as in the Historical District abutting the Savannahs downtown. For example, the ballast stones that enabled sailing ships to safely reach Savannahs port can be found in the retaining walls that are still holding up the rivers bluff ... as evidenced in the attached photo --

A must go see place if you visit Savannah right next to Riverside which has all kinds of great seafood and wonderful pubs. This place is a piece of old Savannah history. I can just imagine the people back then gathering there with their vending stands setup alongside the shops on River Street. Another perk.. you can have an open container of alcohol here so if you feel like having a drink its legal in moderation.

Fun and laid back atmosphere. Great place to sightsee. Especially if you like being close to water. Watching ships come to port. The tugboats and river cruises come and go. The free ferry service back and forth from river street to Hutchison Island is pretty neat too.

Savannah River St. is amazing to visit and to spend time watching the day pass.

Several local shops and cafes. Very unique area. Originally designed to accommodate the cotton industry in the 1800s.

The architecture and hard work can still be seen in these buildings. I love the imperfections that remind us all that this is a very old, hand built city. Beautiful!

Great tourist area. Sidewalks uneven but worth the trip. Wear a hat to keep cool.

Very nice area for strolling and window shopping

This was a new experience for me and my family! I was very impressed by the historic vibe, and the education on the area.

I would have liked to walk around there more but it was 90plu so we cut it short its a historical area very interesting if you like history

Amazing hotel for my wedding night

The beer prices were the cheapest here than anywhere else. Everyone was friendly.

In one word FANTASTIC, this was one of my dream stops, and it lived up to my expectations and so much more.The sights, food and friendly people recommend it 100%

Take a walk through a little of Southern American history. A really cool area with lots to offer in shops, restaurants and bars. Make sure you are wearing good walking Footwear. No heels.

An underappreciated area of historic Savannah. Between River street and Bay Street are a fascinating multilevel warren of cobblestoned walkways, alleys and roadways that have a unique atmosphere hearkening back to Savannahs earliest days.
