Coolest square in Savannah. Make sure to go by XIII and the t-shirt store is the best and least expensive around. Make sure to take a ghost walking tour. They talk a lot about Wright Square.
Quiet, peaceful. Nice place to sit, chat, read, finish drink/snack.
Wright Square is one of the most, if not THE most, elegant squares in Savannah. The only square in Savannah to boast having two monuments, it is the site of the William Gordon Monument and the monument of Tomochichi. The landscape is sooooo beautiful! The massive Live Oak trees! The Camellias! The Tea Olives! The Liriope! And if you visit Wright Square, which you most likely will do, you have to stop by and see Mr. James Pringle (aka. Savannah James). He is a craftsman who creates roses, rings and bracelets from Palm leaves. He is also a great story teller with a wonderful singing voice! I promise that you wont have any regrets. Enjoy and thanks for visiting Savannah!
This is my favorite square in Downtown Savannah. I love the trees and foliage and Tomochichi is buried there (local lore says that if you walk three times counterclockwise around his grave marker - a huge boulder - you will see his ghost). Its a wonderful place to sit and relax and watch Savannah go by.
One of the original squares of Savannah. Located across from the old courthouse, this is where the city used to carry out public hangings. Its a nice shady spot in the middle of downtown with lots of benches for resting while exploring the city. The area is supposedly haunted, but I was not lucky enough to encounter anything paranormal.
Plenty of benches and very quiet and relaxing area.
Beautiful!! And mysteriously NO MOSS GROWS THERE!
Lovely place to visit
Nice place. Educational and very interesting. Park ranger wasnt the best. Didnt seem to want to be thete!
Savannahs parks are so pretty and well kept.
Beautiful place to visit
We went to see Juliette Lows birthplace, but Savannah was beautiful!
All the squares of Savannah are worth to see! So different from each other, so much to experience when your stroll down the streets. Go by foot, bring a big bottle of water and make frequent stops to experience Savannah!
Eric was great!
We went on a tour that started right here in this square. Apparently its haunted and even had some true paranormal investigators checking it out. A must see if youre into ghost hunting.
Beautiful park, lots of shade, makes walking thru the city very pleasant and there is a rich history in Savannah. It is one of the best designed cities in the country.
This park is part of my childhood. From the story of Tomichichis grave and the Azaleas that bloom in spring this is a beautiful part of American history. Ascension Lutheran on the square has some of the finest Stained glass windows in US. Southside of the square is where Forrest Gump sat on the bus stop telling his story.
One of the best squares in Savannah! This square is not only beautiful but contains both the monument to William Washington Gordon and a boulder dedicated to Tomochchi. Its haunted by Alice Riley and has a restaurant nearby where they filmed a scene from Forrest Gump.
In the middle of all of it rest see the Cathedral bank walk the river front read take the dog out always friendly.
Beautiful foilage and very clean.
Just one of Savannahs historic squares and one worth a visit.
Nice square
Nice just to sit and relax and people watch.
Still a nice place to sit and have a great outdoor lunch
Horrible, only lost booze drinkers can get a buck!
The square was nice with some impressive monuments in it. Unfortunately we were also flashed as a seemingly transient male took care of his morning essential in the bushes less than 10 ft away from us. We were there relatively early and many of the local citizens were still sleeping in the area.
Beautiful historic location with amazing history. Restorations are unique!
Great roast beef sandwiches. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Stop here for lunch. Also, great gluten free place. My spouse has siliac and they know to prepare and use different utensils when making her food.
Its always sweet to take a stroll thru town
Dead city #history
Loved this place !!! So much history to take in, had to make it a wknd !! very special indeed !
Nice shady area to sit and relax between shopping and touring
Incredible history in these squares.
This is where we started the ghost tour. Fun and informative.
Great place to enjoy the afternoon
Beautiful little park right in front of our church ... Lutheran Church if the Ascension, Savannah, Ga.
Its beautiful ! In Savannah GA!
Beautiful place...grounds are very well kept.
Beautiful, fun, lots of people who were enjoying the day, moderate temp, about 60%. We went to Bella Napoli Pizzeria. Fantastic food
In my opinion, part of incredible stories
Really enjoyed this square and the beautiful statue in the middle of it.
Just one of many beautiful squares in Savannah. This square has family history to my wife. The monument is to her great great grandfather W. W. Gordon.
Nice place to walk through.
Loved Savannahs parks!
Awsome
I expected more around this area as far as restaurants and shopping. But its more historic landmarks and such. Nice to walk around and look though
Savannah is simply a must visit.
Very good vibes. Could hear music playing from all over
Great place for sites or just airing around drinking a coffee on a cool morning or evening. Savannah is great history and this is just another great example of it.
Lovely place in the heart of Savannah.
Need to see yourself
Today I sat on a bench and talked to a friend enjoying the vibe of the square and people walking passed. Nice breeze and temp.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Great cafe, food and sweets.
This is a lovely place to take a break while walking through Savannah. Id recommend grabbing yourself a favorite cold beverage and taking a pause to enjoy the slow pace of the southern lifestyle.
Beautiful place to visit
All of the squares in Savannah are unique and worth walking through. They really do speak to a very different time and way of life.
Lovely square in Old historic Savannah. Very beautiful with the oak trees, and especially atmospheric at night. Very cool old buildings around as well with nice southern charm. The statue in the middle is a bit abstract but cool.
Cool park can drink while in the park
Wright Square is a tranquil place to sit and reflect on whatever is going on in your life. Also you can meet people from all parts of the world, as many tourist frequent here.
Seeing history before your eyes, is amazing!!! I loved seeing all the Squares in Savannah!!!
It was very lively & historic.
Love walking through the different squares in Savannah. Wright Square is one of my favorites - for the history and beauty.
It’s been the best place I’ve been too so far!
Very quiet relaxing place to sit and think!
Nice plants, well lit, very safe
Some interesting shops around the square. Walk around a bit and explore.
Pleasant
Absolutely fantastic!
Beautiful setting. Well kept.
If you are a history buff, Savannah is a must see
Beautiful square and we were lucky enough to have a VRBO rental right on it! Very shady small square. Church on one side and Courthouse on the other. Saturday morning the church bells gave a 15 min concert at 9 am. During the day they would also toll the time. But seems they silence them at night. Quieter than some of the other squares. Park at state street parking garage. Courthouse is being renovated and parking on the church side was also being blocked off. April 2017
Very cool ghost tour. Skippy was the best tour guide ever!
Beautiful historic downtown. Cant wait to go back
Every square is equally good
Perfect place for picnic.
This historic Savannah Square is sometimes called Courthouse Square, due to the large Federal Courthouse located adjacent. This is a great Square full of history, as it is one of the originals, and it features a large monument in the center, as well as the grave of Native American hero Tomo-Chi-Chi who helped ensure Savannahs success as a colony.
Quite modest spot with great service books to read and cards to play
Beautiful
Love Savannah, all the squares, azaleas, trees, Spanish moss, the history. Went to church for family christening at the Ascension this morning, just beautiful.
Historical landmark. Ghost hangout.
Beautiful square. One of my favorite statues.
I love this Park
