This place is worth the ride! It was beautiful weather and comfy drive. Each stop was unique and had great views!! We had an amazing tour guide named Odem-(sorry if I spell it wrong). He was very educated on Savannah. My favorite part was that he is from there!
Jolly Holly on the Trolley is the best driver. Informative, entertaining, and an all-around peach. You’ll be lucky to have her as a driver. The tour shows the best history-book style historical sites along with the pop culture locations. Next time I’m in town, I’m bringing friends on THIS tour!!!
We did hop off and on all day. Every driver was so nice and cheerful!..And nice route too!. So many stops where you can take off and explore and then hop on
Fun hop off hop on gives you the opportunity to see an overview of Historic Savannah.Jolly Holly was very kind, funny, and made the whole experience very enjoyable and entertaining. By far the best tour guide I have had.
The tour was good. The driver/narrator Denise was very good. But we arrived after mid day so the salesperson Tomi said we could come back the next day without charge and ride again. So we came back but Tomi wasnt there and the young man said we could not ride again without paying again so we left. We have visited Savannah at least 3 times and always done the Old Town Trolley to see the beautiful city but when we visit again we will not ride with Old Town Trolley again! There are several other good trolley companies available.
Done several with them. St. Augustine and Key West. Really a lot of fun! Great way to get around and see everything. You learn a lot of great history as well. Really liked this one because they have padded seats! Made a huge difference in comfort. Hopefully they all add the padding!
It was the first thing i did when i arrived in Savannah and it was very interesting. We got on and off several times so we encountered many different drivers. Some were great, some not so much but it’s a nice way to see the more popular points of the city. Majority of them were excellent with giving stories and interesting points. I will say i see numerous negative reviews about how drivers are “disrespectful” when they tell passengers to stay quiet. Several points of the trip i couldn’t hear what was being said because of families rudely talking over the driver. If you can’t whisper or restrain from talking loudly, get off the bus because you’re ruining the experience from someone who wants to learn about the city. It’s extremely disrespectful to the drivers who are trying to give their best experience possible. Also masks are mandatory while on the bus, if you can’t handle that find something else
If you are planning to visit Savannah, Georgia. I highly recommend utilizing Old Town Trolley Tours of Savannah, Georgia. I have personally utilized them and they offer amazing tours. Also you can get off the tour anytime and jump back on any time during the day. They have stops all over the city. Honestly the tour guides are amazing and genuinely love their jobs. They love their city and really look after their customers. The tour guides will give you a wealth of information on the city and personal recommendations on were to eat and shop. The Old Town Trolly Service is located ideally not far from after you exit off the highway. They offer plenty of parking. Definitely recommend arriving early in the morning so you really get to experience a lot of Savannah, Georgia with out being rushed. If you read my reviews here on yelp I have reviewed a lot of great restaurants and places of interest in Savannah, Georgia. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, Traveled all over the world with the US Marines and Traveled all over the United States. I definitely know a great tour company and city from all my travels. You definitely won’t be disappointed! The City Of Georgia and Old Town Trolley Tours of Savannah, Georgia rates ten stars ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️ ️️️ and more. Lastly you will find lots of great hotels in Savannah, Georgia. You definitely won’t be disappointed!
This is the absolute best way to see Savannah! The tour was very thorough and the stops were placed so that you could explore the areas after learning about them from the guides. If you can, take a ride with Sue! She is by far the most engaging guide and will keep you laughing the whole tour! 100% recommend when visiting the city!
A very good tour with a tour guy that should make a lot of dough, with all his bread talk!
Frank was the Real Deal! We did most of the full tour with him, the prior guide we had was tired, hard to understand and just the bare bones of info. We got on Frank’s trolley at stop 1 and he was top notch. We’re in tourism so it was great to see the passion and attention to detail like recordings played and things that made it current and not something he has done 1000 times!
Great open air sightseeing. Explained a lot of details. Brian and crystal did excellent jobs and were patient with my elderly parents
Took a tour with Captain Phil. As charming a British fellow I imagine as they come. Brilliant experience. Immensely informative and wickedly entertaining. *SPOILER ALERT* His son completed a successful swim across the river. I just have to give kudos to that. Dont try that at home kids.
This should be the first thing you do when you visit Savannah. The drivers are super knowledgeable about their city and it gives you to lay of the land. Id suggest you combine the trolley with the paddle boat tour. Both were amazing!
1st visit to Savanah and we werent sure where to start so we booked a day of Hop On/Hop Off with Old Town Trolley of Savanah. So glad we did! It was amazing! Rev and Frank were so knowledgeable of Savanah and because of their recommendations we saw some of Savanahs best and ate some really good food. Loved getting to know about the city and about Rev and Frank personally as the drove telling stories and sharing about themselves along the way. If your in Savanah especially if youve never been before check out Old Town Trolley of Savanah. You will not be disappointed.
Wonderful experience!! We did the hop on and off your and were so pleased with our guides and the information provided. Its definitely worth the money. I will do this again in the future!! Savannah is a wonderful city but this trolley ride helps with tired feet!!
We had such a good time. Our driver JOLLY HOLLEY ON THE TROLLEY was the best! Very informative and funny! She made the experience so much fun! Would recommend theTrolley tour for sure and if you get really lucky maybe you will get Holley as your driver/narrator!
Easy to use, lots of stops where you can hop off/on. Very instructive tour guides.
The guides were awesome. Very informational and some were funny. Holly jolly was very sweet to my grandson when he lost his mask. Be sure to bring tip money because i didnt have any for the drivers. So sorry
The trolley hop on hop off is SUCH a great way to get around when it is too hot to walk! All the guides/drivers had their own style of storytelling but they were all super funny and knowledgeable. I usually stay away from touristy stuff but this was well worth it!
We saw so much by bring on the trolley ride. I felt like it was a bit steep for price tickets, but we wouldnt have seen as much on our own.
Informative tour guides, lots of stops in all the right places, you can jump off/on as many times as you wish. Awesome day, loved it.
A must do in Savannah! We enjoyed our ride and narrated tour. The hop on hop off came in handy. We got to listen 3 different guide tours. All of them super nice and informative.
Excellent way to learn a ton about Savannah in 90 minutes. Loved every minute, and our guide - Michael - was entertaining and very knowledgeable. And he reinforced safety measures, so it helped me feel comfortable.
Jonathan was our tour guide. He loves Savannah and history so hes the perfect person for this job. Personable and informative. Will be back and highly recommend the city tour.
Worth every penny! We learned so much about the history of Savannah. Picked us up right by our hotel and we made great use of the hop on and off option. The guides were awesome...DON’T FORGET TO TIP THE TOUR GUIDE! If you can afford a ticket on the trolley you can afford to tip these dedicated lovers of Savannah. Their passion for their craft was evident during the tour. Can’t wait to come back!
Good info. It was comfortable sitting and getting in and out. You had to wear a mask at all times. The guides were very informative. Its a great way to see the city.
We have purchased and done this tour in the past, and I’ve always been satisfied. However, this experience was quite dreadful. One of the trolley drivers (a very old man with a British accent) was incredibly rude to me and several other passengers. His name was not displayed as the others’ were. He was insistent that all passengers remain silent throughout the duration of the ride. I realize that it is a narrated ride and it is totally understandable that they ask that people converse softly. However, we were told to “stop talking” several times when he was NOT narrating. We weren’t asked to lower our voices or talk softly, we were TOLD to STOP TALKING, as if we were children. Unfortunately, he ruined the $200 experience for my family and for the other passengers who were rudely reprimanded as well. This man is in the wrong job since he clearly doesn’t know the meaning of hospitality. We got off 2 stops early because we could not tolerate him any longer. Very disappointing.
We had an awesome time. Vee was our guide and she was amazing. Will definitely be recommending this trolley company.
We found it very enjoyable taking the trolley for an hour and a half to see most of the sites of Savannah. We took it the second time and then stopped on the riverfront for a couple of hours before going back home. It was nice of the trolley had free parking would highly recommend it, the bus drivers were very good narrators as well. Each trolley you go on you get someone else that has a different story to tell you.
Lillie was a great guide. Excellent tour for the price.
My wife and I always try Hop on Hop off style tours when traveling to new places. we have had mixed experiences over the many tours that we have been on. This one was great, Craig was our tour guide and he was amazing. You can tell that he really enjoys what he does and it never felt like he was just reading a script . His ability to tell stories about the history was something that stood out to my wife and I. I would highly recommend his tour!
Forced to switch trolleys in the rain. Puddle soaked parking lot got my socks and shoes wet. The only response was sorry for the inconvenience, this is how we do it here. Every trolley, every person off at stop 1. 3rd tour with this company, Savanah was the worst! The other bad part is that the trolleys didnt have ac. Competitors did!The ONLY reason they didnt get 1 star was that the drivers were extremely skilled going thru the very narrow roads and were very informative.
We hopped on and off of several trolleys, but we just have to give a special acknowledgement of the hilariously informative presentation given by Holly Jolly.
We took the 90 minute tour. You can do a hop on hop off. It was very nice. Informative, leisurely, and very pleasant. Savannah is a beautiful town.
Wonderful history tour. The guides are so informative! And sweet.
Its great to to rest there in the middle of the day after long walk.
The trolley tour was a bit over priced, it was informative. We first tried riding around in the car. The tour does give more knowledge then that. If you go be careful with their package deals. I couldn’t account for some of the charges, I found later on my credit card. Overall I would say it was worth it. There are competing trollies, that might be better.
This tour was very informative and entertaining. Phil was the bomb :) Also being able to hop on and off at specific spots was very useful to get from one side of town to another
We spent 2 days in Savannah and used the trolley to get around both days. All the drivers were friendly but special shout out to Lillie and JB. Both were entertaining as well as informative.
Well worth the money, a good 90 min round trip full of fun facts.
Woo was phenomenal, she was so kind and started off our Savannah trip in the best way! Grady was also great and we learned a lot! Thank you!!
I highly recommend these tours. They are a great way to get around the city. The staff is wonderful and super friendly. I also recommend doing the 2 day package and one of their ghost tours. If you are booking at our make sure to use one of their booths. I originally booked online and cannot get ahold of staff and am owed 300 dollars. The booth staff cannot handle any online sales.
Cindy our guide was really amazing. A lot of fun as well she gave us a good feel on the history of savannah and really made it seem like everything really was within walking distance.
Wonderful experience they have highly talented staffs. Loved the way they were sharing the info about this historic city. Best part few of the skits played on the bus. They all looked so natural & real. Yes I would highly recommend to use trolley from this company.
Loved the trolley tour. I suggest to do the 90minute round trip then go back to those places you want to visit. The prohibition museum was great.
We used this trolley for an on/ off tour of Savannah. It was great. Holly Jolly on the Trolley was a great tour guide.
So much fun. Had Mr. Komedy as a guide.
All of the tour guides we rode with were absolutely wonderful, so informative and friendly. While the drivers wore masks, it seems that little else was done in light of Covid precautions. When boarding a new trolley at the visitor center, they said they were reducing capacity, but that meant maybe 4 less passengers on a trolley that seats around 50? A couple of guests got off the trolley before we even started because of the number of people on board. We probably should have followed suit. I never saw them sanitize anything. At any other time, I would have given 5 stars, but think more could be done to protect riders.
Open air tour, so have a fan to help keep yourself cool. The guides know alot and some of it wasnt really relevant just filling time. I like you can get off and walk around and get back on. But there was a stop that was closed and they didnt tell us at the start and we waited over 30 minutes and ended up walking to the next stop.
Great way to see the historic district of Savannah. The drivers/guides were all knowledgeable and good story tellers which added to the experience of the city.
This is a good way to see Savannah! Unlike other hop on hop off experiences I have had, I liked that this tour included live commentary from a guide it was more interactive and enjoyable. I would recommend doing the whole route (1.5 hours) first before hopping on and off. Good way to see the city! I do think maybe a walking tour would be an alternative, as Savannah isnt too big. Keep in mind these vehicles arent really trolleys, just decorative busses :)
A nice way to see the city and learn a bit about its history. All the drivers were extremely friendly. Id definitely recommend them.
Loved the old buildings and hearing about the history. Our tour driver Big Kenny was great.
The service of the company itself was good. However, it seems simply wasteful. I’ve been on multiple tour trolleys and double decker busses in various cities and enjoyed them all. But Savannah is with out a doubt a walking city. The trolley seemed to be going in circles in a vary small radius. Save your money and enjoy beautiful walks throughout this beautiful historic city. We didn’t get the opportunity to bike but biking would definitely been awesome as well!
Really cool experience and being able to hop off and explore different areas and then hop back on its a plus.
Beautiful sights with very knowledgeable tour guides. Both our tour guides were full of enthusiasm and had us laughing the entire time. Definitely had our attention.
We did the day trolly and got talked into doing the haunted ghost tour. Dont do it, the haunted tour was awful, just cheesy, and therefore a waste of money The day tour, was ok. Depending on your driver, some are boring and others are really great at story telling
Excellent tour!! “Frank” was like a mobile historical society- really “into” Savannah and just a pleasure to have as a guide.
Have tried them in St. Augustine and than here in Savannah. Good your experience, overall. Recommended.
This was well worth the time and cost. They picked us up and brought us back to the RV park. Was great not having to find parking downtown. The drivers are very informative about the history of Savannah. Was great to get off and on in different locations around the area. Would highly recommend this tour and would do it again.
One of the best deals in Savannah. On and off service, multi day passes available. Friendly and knowledgeable conductors. Jamie was an awesome guide! Great way to learn more about the city and its rich history.
Very knowledgeable conductors. Runs about every 15 minutes and covers the most important landmarks of Savannah.
Love the details of the city that a as shared. It was worth double the price.
Denise was such a great guide! I appreciate the enforcement of masks. We enjoyed the tour and it definitely made seeing Savannah easier for us.
Very informative. Staff was very nice. We took a late tour and was not able to see the live characters on the tour.
Excellent tour. Drivers are the best at narrating the tour. Order tickets online and save quite a bit of money.
We liked this tour! The narration of both drivers we experienced (Grady and Richard) was pleasant and funny without being overly or annoyingly cheesy all the time. The tour hits on every interesting sight, and there are trolleys at least every 15 minutes though at several points in time they were more frequent than that even.I will say that unlike yours like this in some larger cities, the total area covered is only relatively small and by itself very walkable, so from that perspective there’s no immediate need to take a trolley tour. This also means that a lot of time is taken up by taking many, many turns, both to be able to maneuver around and see all of the city’s little squares, as well as just adding enough time for the narration. Not a bad thing though, because the narration was fun and informative.
Our last conductor/tour guide BK as he is affectionly known was quite entertaining throughout the tour. You can purchase a one or two day pass and hop on and off as you please until 5pm.
Very knowledgeable guides. Open air seating. Easy way to see the highlights of Savannah.
Really enjoyed the history and liked being able to get off and on when we wanted to.
Arthur our guide was awesome! Great way to pop in and see the town.
Great way to start your trip to Savannah. Then you can map out the areas you want to visit
The city of Savannah needs to look into their social distancing procedure. They did not separate people with every other seat. Anyone could get on whether they wore a mask or not. There were multiple times the trolleys were full. I enjoyed the tour guide and the history of Savannah, but it was obvious that money means more than listening to our government.
Great way to get around Savannah. Friendly staff and guides. Ensures you see the best of the city and they offer suggestions for off trolley things to see and do.
This trolley tour was excellent. 15 stops to get on and off wherever you like. We got off at City Market with driver Lillie Mae. Excellent tour guide! Interesting and funny! Got back on with Capt. Phil also fun and interesting! Great value!
The best city tour my wife and friends have taken in a while. Old Savannah tours is the best company. Gertrude is one the best tour guides accompanied by Paula. The city of Savannah is a must to visit places. Amtrack is the best travel option from nearby cities. Reserve at least 3 days to cover the city end to end. Do not stay at the traditional Marriotts, prefer to stay an inn which will give you a more direct insight into the city’s history. The most beautiful part of the city is the trees and the squares and the museums. Savannah is recommended!!!!
This tour is about as easy and convenient as it gets. Very informative, just sit back and relax while you learn all about the famous spots of Savannah. Our tour guide Richard was funny and a great story teller. You also have the option to hump on and off the various trolleys as they go through Savannah for the day you purchase your ticket. They pass through each stop ever 15 minutes or so. My only complaint is that we bought our tickets around three and a terrible storm with flash flood happened around 330, so we had to wait until the next day to use our tickets. We wanted to trade them in for the evening tour after the storm passed but the company wouldnt allow an exchange. Im not a fan of that policy.
We had Mike from Ohio as our guide and Paula as our driver. We enjoyed the entire tour and learned so much! They even dropped us off at our rental afterwards. It is definitely something you should do if you come here.
Arthur was a wonderful your guide, very informative, and we would take another tour for sure!
In all honesty its not a bad tour. Its good for information but buying packages is a waste. Its a better idea to just pay to park and pay for the places
Its a good comprehensive tour of the downtown area. Our driver was very good. Informative and a great sense of humor.
NOT COVID SAFE AT ALL!!!Mask wearing was not enforced AT ALL on board. The trolleys are fully packed with people who then take their masks off or wear them under their noses - and the guides do nothing about it.We had two small children with us and had specifically asked what they were doing for covid safety, and were assured that masks were required and they “weren’t busy”. Every trolley is packed to capacity and half the people are not wearing masks. The whole experience was scary and stressful.
Great on and off tour. We have been to Savannah many times and finally took this tour. Worth it! Learned so much about the area and was able to get around the city easily on a hot day. Would recommend!!
Great history and tour of the city, we did the on and off tour.
We had 4 different guides in our 2 days in Savannah. They were all great, especially Big Ken, and Richard.
Entertaining and informative. JB is the best driver!
Absolutely wonderful!! Learned so much about Savannahs history!
Only Trolley we take when visiting Savannah. The stories and history told by the drivers make it worth the price of tickets.
It was entertaining and informative. It was worth the money.
We used the trolley for 2 days solid. All but one of the guides were great, one guy clearly hated his job and was a terrible driver! Guides passed along a good blend of useful and historical information.
Awesome way to see beautiful Savannah. Hop on, hop off. Its the best way to see and feel all Savannah has to offer.
The best way to get around town and the tour is rich in history.
If youre in Savannah the trolley tour is a must, you wont regret it.
Trolley was good and informative. Helps you get an understanding of the city of Savannah.
Always learn something new with each tour!
We had a free day in Savannah after being there for a conference. This tour was the perfect way to spend the morning! Peter was a great guide and the tour gave us a good idea of how we wanted to spend the rest of our day, while also being fast transportation around the city. The trolley was clean and appeared to be well-kept.I definitely recommend doing the full tour first, then deciding what you want to see.The reason I took one star off is it was pretty expensive. Two adult tickets and a city map was around $90
This was a great tour. We really enjoyed our guide as well. Tons of fun facts and entertainment. The route is done in such a way to really get a grip on Savannah both geographically and culturally/historically.Its also kid-friendly (we had a 7 year old with us).Id recommend it to anyone who is not familiar with the town or who is looking for a quick history with hop on / hop off transportation.
