Parking was accessible, clean bathrooms near by. Would be nice if trails had better descriptions on them maybe with maps at the trailhead
At the end of Paradise Road on the Santa Ynez River is one of the most popular weekend destinations for summertime fun. Its a local party spot. Families, teenagers, hikers and all kinds of people come to this area to enjoy the deep swimming holes, picnic spots and campgrounds along the Santa Ynez River. This area is a car camping/picnic spot.
WARNING, a malicious company named Park Management is trying to privatize management of this park. On our second night of camping, we were told to move our campsite at 9p at night in complete darkness by park management. This was after we had painstakingly looked into restrictions and abided by all fire laws. We had also checked with three different park rangers to make sure we were camping in the right place. It seems like park management and the park rangers arent on the same page. We had paid for three days of backwoods camping and because it was so unsafe to hike and set our camp up again, we ended up packing up our gear and staying at a Motel 6. As it was last minute, we paid $158 to stay at a Motel 6 because we felt extremely unsafe hiking two miles in the dark.
It was nice but lot of trash on trails..To get to the water should be more signs that say more info on were your going .. but it was still nice there
This is a great day use area with hiking trail and pools in the river for swimming. It can get crowded, so a hike to the pools up higher is recommended. The trail can be hard to follow crossing the street and going through the creek bed so bring a trail app, map or use your phone GPS if youve got the coverage.
Beautiful! unfortunately little water this year.
A really beautiful place with plenty of picnic spots. Bathrooms are a little archaic. Bring your own T.P. Cost is $10.00 for day use, and they close the backcountry down in the evening. Camping is available. Check the website. Make sure you gas up before heading out. There are no stations. Pack out all trash. There are plenty of trash receptacles once you get back from your hike. The fire danger is usually quite high, so be extremely careful when cooking!
Nice watering holes and people were pretty good on distancing.
Nice warm weather with the river to cool off in it made it a wonderful trip
Had the sweetest greater at the gate today! I will be back to explore

Needs more water. This place has been amazing in the past.... But today not so much. Had fun anyway and swam in a lake where the river should be.
There was no water. Too hot for summer.
Awesome place to go swimming, take your kids
