Beautiful fall day for the park and a picnic on the hill. Clean restroom. A little too crowded for COVID comfort by the farm.

Definitely beautiful and worth to see during fall! Colors are vibrant everywhere. Koi fish, trees,green grass, garden, and farm animals were friendly!

Maymont Japanese Garden is always beautiful this time of year. My family and I have been coming here for years. Very peaceful and quiet. Just you and mother nature!!

We went through the Glow Garden for Halloween. It was very pretty but the path is not very long. There were vendors for food at the event. Unfortunately it was hard to see any of the gardens due to it being night time.

It is so amazing. So green and clean. If you want to clear your mind this is the kind of place you go to. There are some wild and farm animals also.

So much more than a Japanese Graden. There is a mansion to explore, and aqautic center, a childrens farm, lots of animals to observe and tons of other gardens. The scenery is amazing. Definitely worth a trip.

Its a fantastic place to visit, a must see in Richmond! You can spend hours in the gardens, theres an animal park that kids would love. If you have the time take a tour of the house too, its pretty neat. I visited in February, and will definitely be going back in the spring when it is in full bloom!

Garden Glow was a less then spectacular event compared to previous years but on par with 2020. Beautiful park and venue on majestic estate otherwise!

I spend hours at Maymont. Its such a relaxing place to walk around, read, nap, animal watch and photograph. There are plenty of walking paths, a nature exhibit, animal habitats, a petting zoo and childrens farm, and the landscaping of the Italian rose and Japanese gardens is stunning.

This is one of my favorite gardens. You can find koi ponds, bamboo trees, and beautiful areas to sit in the shade or the sun. One wonderful thing to do on a beautiful day is have a picnic or go on a walk. This is one of my favorite gardens in one of my favorite parks.

What a cool outdoor local thing to do. Kids 11 and 14 liked it too. Felt socially distanced and safe.

Maymont is beautiful. Tons of space to have fun with your family beautiful gardens to walk through Amazing buildings and fountains. Theres even a beautiful waterfall down to a gorgeous Japanese koi pond

My dad proposed to my mom here 28 years ago, I love coming here when I can, the garden and whole area is very well maintained and the animal exhibits are fun to see

Maymont is amazing, you wont be disappointed. Just make sure you packed your walking shoes. Bring quarters if you want to feed the animals.

If youve never been to Maymont add it to your Richmond list. The park is great for photography, walking with kids or friends, and getting some fresh air.

The park is always beautiful but the Garden Glow is for 5 year olds.

One of the best estates i have ever been. Its a must place to visit in the Richmond city. Good weather check is much suggested. Cloudy or after rainy hours are the best

Obsessed with the Japanese garden! This is my favorite Sunday spot to go to to reset for the week. Walking across the pond with the koi swimming by is so peaceful. There are different gardens on the location and a preservation zoo. There is a suggested 10 donation upon entry and they have a few different entrances that take you into different sections of the grounds.

The fish are beautiful and huge . There is 1 spot thats closed cause they need to clean it or somethi g but its amazing there . Only spot i made it to

Best part of the park, hands down. Shame they turn the waterfall off during the winter!

Walking there on a regular basis, every season you can expect new scenery, the flowers are beautiful, its peaceful and relaxing. Be at peace ( esp if its busy) and know that other humans walking there is all part of the experience the laughter, shrieks of joy, sighs of happiness. Perfect location for photography.

Koi pond is really cool, good place to find nature in the day to day city rush.

Its great! I love the natural air smell. Its a great place to ride too! We went cycling and got some delicious burgers from Burger Bach!! Mmmm yum so juicy!!!My only complaint is t that there is a lot of goose poop out there so watch out!

Great spot for a nice walk or photos. Free! If it were a garden where a fee was charged, I would give it only 3 stars... bit just ok, nothing special except the incredible stairway waterfall.

I did some maternity photos here recently. A lot of parts are sectioned off and the waterfall has been turned off. Still beautiful as usual.

A must see! A family favorite of ours to go and walk these wonderful gardens. So many little surprises and color all spring, summer and fall. Did I mention easy access and free parking??

I cant give this place a proper review as parts of it were closed due to Covid restrictions...but the gardens were magnificent! I will definitely return once the restrictions have lifted so I can get the full experience.

Such a beautiful replica of a Japanese garden. This is a must see place. Be prepared to walk a lot. Bring water to stay hydrated and if youre with kids bring a stroller.

Its pretty big clean and good to hang out with family and friends for picnic and gatherings.

Excellent park for family, weddings and couples. Youll get a workout walking here. The gardens after beautiful, theres also a petting zoo!

It was our first time there and we wish they could have a stroller or wheelchair sign to direct the path to the Japanese garden. The landscaping and garden were pretty but the water look disgusting. There were water on the walking path made it muddy so our sneakers and socks got wet.

It was a beautiful place to visit and is any time but especially during a time in history when nearly every indoor establishment, playground, and school is closed. The gardens were fun for a 4 year old to see the beauty and walk through.

Beautiful lighting, easy walking path, great venue for pictures. Path takes less than 30 minutes to walk. Be in line at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time. You can listen to a talented a talented team of drummers or sample from one of the food carts.

Great place to walk and exercise. Living in Williamsburg its nice to get up to Richmond as we often do and just unwind. We wish Hampton roads had more parks similar to Richmond.

Maymont is absolutely beautiful. The Japanese Garden is one of the many garden areas you can walk through. It is very well maintained. It is not ideal for people with mobility issues due to the steps and hills. In the summer time make sure you pack water, sunscreen, and a hat.
