The wide main trail is perfect for distancing, & its mostly paved so great for winter hiking. The narrower trails are much more interesting with incredible views. The entire park is also unleashed. Good sized coyote population so use caution with small dogs.

I love this park! The trails here are amazing and you get 360° views from the top of them. You can see creeks, cattles, birds and the scenery changes so much along the hike that you never get bored when youre here. There is no entrance fee, which is also really nice.

All my life that I’ve lived in the area, I had never gone on this trail for a hike before until last week. I had a great experience with friends. Saw some great views of the bay, encountered some cows, and met pleasant smiles from other hikers on the trail. It got a bit windy and there was a slight drizzle once we reached the top of the peak, but it was well worth it.

Beautiful open space. Fun to encounter cows. However if you dont like cows they wander free in the park. Hills if you are looking for sunnier + more strenuous, a creek for a more peaceful walk. Some scattered trees between. A good picnic destination. Check out the stone cats at Nike missile site!

There are trails for intense hiking as well as great for walks. Very shaded walk, and usually there is a creek that runs though with pic nic tables along it in multiple locations. Very clean, multiple restrooms and most of the tables have bbqs. Great for dogs and kids!

Ive hiked and biked here many times. The trail network offers different views of the East Bay hills and surrounding areas, some affording views of the Delta, San Pablo Bay, San Francisco, and even down the peninsula. Like many of East Bay Regional Park Districts, its worth the effort to take a look if for no other reason than to have a greater appreciation and knowledge of the East Bay area.

I never knew about this place. Found it through San Pablo Health Centers Walk with a Doc program. This place is huge, lots of trails to enjoy, beautiful views of Richmond, and lots of picnic areas to enjoy food and friends. Here you will find a wide variety of trails; it even connects to Tilden Park in Berkeley. Im still not sure how far it goes. You will also find some of the most breathtaking views in the Bay area. And the picnic areas are large and plentiful. There are tables to sit at, green spaces to play in, and trees and coverings to keep cool in the shade. Oh and the bathrooms are pretty nice too. I would highly recommend this place to any adventure seekers. The trails can be steep, so be mindful that not everyone will be able to make the trek, but there are easier trails near the picnic areas. And the trail to Tilden Park is pretty flat, so thats also a possibility for those who dont like hills. And lastly the parking lot is pretty big, I dont think you would ever come here and not be able to find parking.

Great place to hike. Took our dog and backpack full of water and snacks. Make sure you keep out for ticks ! Once we got back to the car I had 2 on me. Nothing on our dog thank god. But the sights are beautiful. There’s parts of the trails where you can take your dog off the leash and let them play around which is nice.

Got a little lost and got off the trail. Beautiful walk, but houses are right on top of the parks beauty. When I walked down the creek there was was dust and other trash strewn in a couple of spots. For the most part it is lovely and I will walk to the other side of the park to give it another chance.Walked the other side and LOVED it. Saw coyote, rabbit, birds and beautiful natural landscape. Theres a few inclines to climb throughout the trails that are excellent to climb and lots of friendly dogs and people.

I used to hike here with friends back in the 1970s to smoke weed before it became a park. Spring is my favorite time with all the mustard plants in full bloom covering acres at a time, like it used to be when the Indians were the only humans here. Great views of the Richmond area with S.F. and the Golden Gate bridge in the distance. Very tranquil, quiet, with an occasional cry of a bird of prey overhead looking for a meal. Great place to recover your sanity, far above the maddening crowds. Dogs allowed if on a leash. Bring doggy bags and coat for those summer afternoon winds through the Golden Gate. They let the cows loose in the summer, so dont forget to latch the gates.Access from Wildcat upper entrance at the end of Monte Cresta Ave, San Pablo CA 94806. This is a residential neighborhood, please respect their peace and quiet enjoyment or we will lose ours.

Just hiked 9 miles full loop of the park last Sunday with my husband. It was a beautiful clear sunny day! Beautiful hikes along open fields, grass and wild flowers. We got some lovely views of Richmond city and other surroundings. Lovely view on Nimitz way too of Golden Gate and SF city!It was nice to experience a different hike this time without trees. Be careful and bring lots of water, sunblock and hats because there are no shaded spots due to absence of trees. It took us about 4 hours or so to do the full loop starting at Alvarado park - Wildcat Creek - Belgum - San Pablo Ridge Trail - Nimitz Way - Conlon - Wildcat Creek and ending again at Alvarado.

Great place during the week when its not crowded, you Can tell by how many cars are parked, also beware of dog owners whose dogs are not socialized, best bet for dog friendly will still be a dog park. My 7mo old pitbull was whacked repeatedly with a stick from a man whose shitzu kept barking at us, my pit pup was just curious and wanted to say hi
