Upon arrival was non impressed at all! Pictures and hotel did not match up. Definitely cannot believe what you see on the internet. Staff was rude and acted like didnt want me there or be there theyre self. Location good view of the ocean was good the only reason I gave two stars. Switch hotels as soon as we could.

The location is in a beautiful spot and is very convenient! Otherwise I would just advise you to spend a couple extra dollars and stay somewhere just a little bit nicer. Those beds are not the softest the sheets are the roughest in the pillow is the toughest. We had stains on our coffee table and there were feathers on our balcony like a bird flew in the window.

The side view of the ocean was great, being able to open the balcony door and hear the waves crash is one of the best things. Though youre not allowed to smoke on the balcony, we didnt get any new towels for our stay, and the pool is only open until 10 other than that our stay was wonderful

It was okay. Hard to sleep with people slamming doors all night and partying. Plus water would not get hot to take a shower. Yet sink water was hot. Beautiful view from our room though.

Great location near everything within walking distance. Staff was great and helpful. My only I was dislike was the baby spider in our sheets. But other than that it was a nice chilled place. Its affordable.

The pictures on the website are not NEARLY at all what the hotel looks like. PRO: on the beach. CONS: front desk customer service was terrible when we checked in, they only replaced towels/washcloths due to COVID so they didn’t enter the room at all to clean, vacuum, make the beds, etc. Hotel needs a ton of renovations!

I saw some unfavorable reviews so I wasnt sure what to expect but I have been pleasantly surprised. The price was so cheap I thought it might be sketchy but its been wonderful. The Room is Clean and everything smells fresh. The carpet is a little stained or worn in places in the hallway but really for the money I got way more than I expected I would definitely stay again

We arrived at 2:30 am. The gentleman was nice even though police were here. We went to our 5th floor room to find it dirty. We were placed on the first floor with the promise to move up later that day. Went to the desk and a customer was arguing for her “mother f$&king money back because she was dissatisfied. We came back later and the lady at the desk was not helpful stating it was too late to move. She said “you should have come before 11. We can’t now.” She said nothing off the bill because “I got what I paid for! You paid for ocean front you got it”. Nope I didn’t I can’t see the ocean just everyone at the pool and they can see in my room! Never again!

Great place for the money, hot tubs, pools & the cats in the courtyard reminded me of mine at home. We take food out to them in the evenings.WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNINGEdit- On our 5th day, we had just came back from the hot tub. My wife jumped in the shower & I was on the outside deck looking at the beach when I hear my wife scream at somebody. I look & here is the maintenance man already 1 foot & 1/2 his body in our room, he said he was just checking to make sure we were alright. I said yeah- very startled, shocked & trying to comfort my wife. I immediately went to the front desk where the young lady tried to tell us it was our fault he came in. I proceeded to ask other maintenance men if there was a note for our room to be checked, all of them knew we were there & were shocked he entered our room. We had no room service all week because of COVID-19. So why at 1:30pm would they be in our room ? When they knew we had another day there. And I’ll say this again, his name was ‘Cheeto’, he was an older maintenance guy, NOT. A maid to clean the room!!! Nothing was broken in our room, we had no issues. But to try to make it our fault he entered our room with my wife standing there naked.As soon as you opened our door I had several extremely expensive Metal Detectors on the bed, I can’t not even imagine what might of took place if I had not been in our room with my wife. She was terrified. We still had that day left to spend there, we took our expensive items & put them in our car & spent the rest of our time away from the hotel.I would recommend you NOT stay here as it was also very dirty & run down. Always lock your deadbolt & swing the lock on top of your door so no one can enter. I’m still so disgusted very over what happened. No excuse will ever cover why he came into our room!!!I do have audio recordings of all my interactions with staff after this happened!!Cheeto was his name !! And we’re not done pursuing this!!

For the price if you want ocean side view its not too bad but I wouldnt stay there again. Room key had to be changed 3 times had to call down to the front desk to see if they was gonna open pool back up. Got told it was open however it was not. No lights on no lazy river on. Only hotel Ive stayed at that wouldnt give me a later check out. Yes Ive stayed in cheap hotels and Ive stayed in the high dollar end. I would find somewhere else to stay if youre looking for a great staff that does their job. Pictures are a million times nicer looking than in real life!!!! If youre looking to be able to walk to the ocean and you can book it for a good price online than okay! But I would check around if you want night staff that does their job!!!!!

The first responders discount was nice, staff is friendly, and rooms very clean. I have 1 major complaint and it is because I am a smoker... Nowhere on their website does it say you cannot even smoke on the balcony... We do not smoke in our house and we sure would not smoke in a hotel room, so we rent hotels with balconies so we can step outside and smoke. Smoking is not allowed on the balcony so this disabled Veteran with a spinal cord injury had to make his way to the elevator and walk all the way out to the parking lot just to smoke... not easy when you hobble on a cane. This could have been prevented if their website stated their rules for smoking. If you do not smoke stay here... if you do find another hotel. After the first night of traveling outside, my back had enough and I could not keep making that trip. We checked out without a refund.

All the employees are amazing, very polite and super sweet!This could be an amazing place but it needs A LOT of TLC! Rooms are clean but mattresses need replaced and balconies need to be deep cleaned. Pool were always dirty, hot tub was not hot, lawn chairs are very dirty and need to be replaced as well. Again this place has great potential but the owner needs to put some money back into this place!!

If I could rate this place zero stars I would we went down to the pool after checking in and took the towels from our room and after leaving the pool we went to the front desk to get more clean towels to take a shower with and the white lady at the front desk absolutely refused to give us 2 more clean towels and had the worst attitude ever about it wasn’t even nice about it at all! we will never be staying with the sand castle ever again!! AMANDA is the woman’s name who refused to give us two cleans towels. Sandcastle lost two paying customers over two clean towels! Never been to a hotel that wouldn’t trade out dirty towel a for clean one that is absolutely ridiculous!

This place is absolutely amazing. So its not a Hilton or anything like that but it has very nice condos with everything you could need. It wasnt super clean in the cabinets but was still amazing. The lady Ashley worked with us for another night because we were in a car accident and from Maryland. Price is right for the area. The pools are amazing and plentiful. The people are very nice, friendly, and helpful. Right on the water and a two block walk from everything happening in Myrtle beach!!! My family vowed to come back here every year even after they grow up and move on thats how much fun we had!!! Few minor things happened that I disliked but I still gave a five because I am a very picky and particular person!!! I definitely recommend this place for families. The more kids and the younger the better because this setting is very accommodating. I myself would never leave my kids alone at the pool but everyone was so acquainted by Friday we all took turns watching the kids!!! Make this your ONLY lodging stop in Myrtle beach!

We enjoyed our stay so much! Room and hotel were very clean, bed was super comfortable, and even though the buffet wasn’t available they did a great job with still supplying us with yummy breakfast. We had our dog with us as well and she enjoyed her stay as well! Would definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay for vacation, decent prices and great views! Pool, bar and only 1 draw back.....1 elevator in the entire place but all n all a pretty good place for families, the partier or older couple because its close to everything on the strip without paying upper class prices and us average joes can spend that money on food, entertainment and more if that makes sense! Have a great time!

Room smelled like mold and its because the carpet under the AC was leaking a lot the balcony view was beautiful till u look down and see that nasty water and rust almost slipped and fell the bathroom door was broken so it kept getting stuck every time both phones in the room did not work so if there was a emergency we were screwed the remote did not work either service was horrible the young girls up front were very helpful but the older lady was rude and obnoxious no help at all tried to over charge us for 2 days when we paid for 4 nights for the same price moved down the road and way nicer and paid half the price will only recommend a night or 2 other then that no way

It was great! but are room was not clean .. And we were supposed yo ocean front but put on a side view of the ocean .

Pretty janky. Our balcony door didnt lock, there was mold around the top of the shower, there was a TUBE tv in our room, there was 1 elevator, on the website it said complementary breakfast yet when we got there we were told they didnt do that. Also the vending machines (sodas) were all sold out....even had a lady accuse my kids (17 & 25) of spitting on her even though they explained that the air conditioning units were dripping. Just not the vacation stay I expected.

The hotel was clean, well kept and the staff was super friendly. However I left a cell phone down there has sentimental pictures on it. I have called for 4 days and they say they can’t locate it but my tracking on the phone saids it is still there. I would definitely stay here again. But I just want my phone back so I can have my grand babies memories and even my dads memories that has passed away

Check in was very simple and fast. Location was great. Ocean front, balcony, 2 rooms, kitchen and suited our family for 3 days. Pictures are definitely nicer than the room in person. It was clean but out dated. Staff was friendly and we had cleaning service each day. No problems getting clean towels or anything we needed. Parking is horrible. Not enough parking for the amount of rooms they have. Air could have been better. It was little muggy and hot in the bedroom but the living room area was perfect.

Arrived and bathroom sink would not drain had to call maintenance. Late in the night (1 am) while watching tv husband found a bed bug in the bed. He went down to desk and they moved to us to another room. Upon entering it smelled like pee. Moved to another room and was greeted at door by a cockroach. We left first thing in the morning and desk staff was not surprised or concerned. They did however tell my husband how to get a refund..

You get a view of the ocean from most of the rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. Stayed for 2 nights. The rooms were very clean. It didnt face the ocean but still could get a good enough view. Would consider coming back when I visit again.

The guest services was very polite which is why I gave this place three stars. Sandcastle is three high rises in one resort. When we were there (Thanksgiving weekend) crowd was almost not there. Yet things like elevator, hot water for bath/showers were SLOW. The water pressure in shower was super weak hot water took for ever and then at best it was more like just hotter than warm.We had a two queen with small refrigerator (think dorm size) and microwave room. The room was small and cramped with two adults and two small children (5 and 7 years old). The room rates were what got us $49 a night. I would not want to pay much more even during the summer months.I would not want to stay here during the summer or when this place is 60% occupied unless you enjoy long waits for elevator, swimming in a pool thats to small for this resort, never finding a parking spot (unless you never move your car). I dont recommend staying here.

Do not go to this hotel! It was small and dirty people were partying all night and my daughter couldnt get any sleep they ripped me off for $250 and charged my card three times! When I tried to call the manager he ignored my phone calls and hung up on me. very rude staff! When I would try to call back they would hang up as well! Its just a scam!

I wouldnt stay here again. The pictures on the website make this look much nicer than it was. The entire place from rooms to the elevator to the pool appear grimy. The staff are friendly which is the only thing positive about it.

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and this was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. The only reason we stayed is because all of the surrounding hotels were fully booked. We would never recommend for anyone to stay here.* The Lobby and check-in looks nothing like it does on the pictures* The walls in the rooms are super thin so you hear everything in the hallways— and people are loud throughout the night from both the beach and the hallways* The ice machine was covered in duct tape and looked completely unsafe to use* On our first day their we noticed a brown, Tar-like liquid leaking from faucet into the tub. We went to the front desk to put in a maintenance request and no one ever came to check up on it.* On our second day we noticed housekeeping hadn’t cleaned the rooms, changed the sheets, or taken out the garbage. We went to the front desk to ask for more towels and the front desk lady said she would have someone bring us towels. When we came back there we two face towels for three of us— so we had to go back down to ask for more face towels and dry off towels. We asked about housekeeping and were informed they weren’t allowed to come come in the rooms to clean— so even though there’s a $66 Resort Fee housekeeping does nothing in your room.* We were told to put our trash in the hallway at 10am, by noon the next day it was still in the hallway and we didn’t have fresh towels. We constantly had to go to the front desk to ask for more.* The older receptionist at the front desk was very rude. When we were inquiring about housekeeping she repeatedly rolled her eyes at us. At one point we came in to ask for more towels and there was a line because the younger receptionist was having a conversation with the Security Guard.* The hotel is three separate buildings, and only one service desk, and there’s no clarification on where anything is so you have to leave your building to ask about anything.I understand that COVID has changed how some business handle their services, but we weren’t informed of any changes and no accommodations were made to ensure customers were satisfied, and if you can’t adjust as a business you shouldn’t stay open. If you’re Housekeeping isn’t allowed to come in the rooms to clean there’s no need for a resort fee, either. Even upon checking out she rushed to take our keys and shoo us away (when there were no other customers around so she could’ve taken the time to ask how our stay was). Overall would NOT recommend anyone stay here.

Dont stay here!! They put us on the 2nd floor in front of the tiki bar where they blasted music all night. I could understand until the evening but as the house drug by it got louder and more crowded. There were outlets not covered with plates the bathrooms are tiny our tv didnt work right our room attached to another persons room where I could hear their every move. Waste of money will not stay here again

Kinda crowded drink machine sold out the whole time and never got the baby crib I was supposed to get and pools were closed part of the time also spent alot of time waiting for elevator but really enjoyed my stay. Lazy river really cool and loved indoor heated pool and hot tub.. also loved the bath in my room and the beds were so soft and comfortable.

Our stay at the sandcastle was everything we expected. The five star review does not mean this place is a 5 star hotel. However, during our stay the room was clean, the staff at check in and out was excellent, the air in the room worked wonderfully, the oceanfront balcony was the perfect touch. The cabana bar at the pool was very much enjoyed. The hallway/elevator did smell of marijuana most days however that is not something that bothered us nor is a direct reflection of the hotel conditions itself. The only hiccup we had was parking on the weekend was very crowded and we had to park a block away in a parking garage. You get what you pay for and it was exactly as advertised. We will be back for sure!

Very nice size rooms and newly painted and updated, at least the room we were in. The shower had little water pressure and it was hard to adjust the water. The mattress need replacing they were worn out. Kitchen area was nice but roaches came out from behind and under refrigerator. It appeared to be a new refrigerator so it could have had them before it was installed. The indoor pool and hot tub was very nice. And the beach was beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed Friday through Monday and no one came to clean our room our entire stay. Not sure if we will stay their again.

I came here on vacation in August 2019. It was my first time in SC, and in Myrtle Beach. It is so beautiful and relaxing. The hotel is a great deal for a family, as I was vacationing with my sister, brother in law, and their two young children. We got a room with a kitchenette and 2 double beds, plus a Murphy bed for me.Having the kitchen saved us all a ton of money by enabling us to cook and prepare most of our own meals, and saving our restaurant experiences for the evenings.The rooms themselves were a little dated and a little worn looking, but considering the price difference between this hotel and others near by, Id definitely take the slightly worn hotel and save some money.Our room had a balcony which overlooked the beach and ocean. Incredibly beautiful views! The hotel itself is directly on the beach, so it has incredibly easy access.There are 3 pools total, one being a lazy river, one indoor and one outdoor. Theres also a large hottub indoors.They have a little pool side bar which served pretty good drinks and the staff was very friendly. They also had nightly entertainment, all very family friendly.Overall, the hotel was a great place to stay with a bigger group, and definitely a family friendly place.

The staff was very nice. The room was great and a good price. When I checked in, my key wasnt properly activated but I went back to the office and she reconfigured it for me. I didnt stay in a main building I was in one of the towers. Parking wasnt an issue until closer to the weekend. It was a great experience.

They have only one elevator and dirty carpet. Something you dont want to step on if you just got out of pool, ocean or shower. There decks are also dirty. Even the pool water is murky looking. Staid only one night and left. This hotel needs a renovation. The only good thing about this hotel is the location

I loved it, I was on the 6th floor and could lay on the bed & enjoy the view. Only issue was the only indoor hot tub & pool chlorine smell was sooo strong i couldnt get in when they opened it and then when the smell dies dwn its hard to relax when its full with ppl diving and splashing everywhere.

Stayed in a 2 bed suite and had roaches, the curtains were filthy blowing onto the bed from the a/c. the couch in the 2nd room looked like it came from someones trash. carpets are filthy and outdated, there is no hot water to shower only luke warm, the noise level at 1 and 2am in the hallway was awful with doors slamming and people yelling from room to room, the view and location is great but other than that I will not be staying here again, from the words of my 6 year old he was creeped out staying here. this was my 2nd go around because of location and healthcare worker discount but never again.

The place we were going to stay. No Social distance. Lobby was small. I saw mold coming out of the ceiling. Super loud. Dont go.

Everything was great!!! Absolutely gorgeous, only the bar tender at the tiki bar(Tony) kept complaining and nagging about his personal life, over charged me drinks to drink for himself. Very petty dishonest man.

Needed to stay an extra day to catch a direct flight, so I stayed here. Ended up on the ground level close to elevator and laundry area so I was annoyed by loud patrons coming back to the hotel late on Saturday night making noise. That was on me, I should have tried to stay on a higher floor. TV is odd, its apparently connected to an antennae so reception wasnt great but you can access your own apps, although I found the WiFi a bit spotty. Has a pool, and a tiki bar although Id hardly call it a resort but it is beach front. I didnt have a car, but parking lot was small but average at best.

This resort is really nice for a middle of the road experience for the price. The 3 towers use key card locks to get around. A good idea for security but inconvenience at times. A small tradeoff for me but something we had to get use to. I was expecting an ocean view and took it for granted thinking it would be include it.

Absolute worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure to stay at, EconoLodge is better than this hotel. There were dead roaches in the bathroom corner, the balcony was on the ground floor, it smelled like weed all night, and our room was directly in front of the entrance. We came back from a bar and there were live roaches climbing on the door. We went up to the front desk to see what could be done. It was about 12am at this time. The sign said there were vacancies at that time. Scottie at the front desk told us there were no open rooms. Lo and behold, my sister calls the front desk five minutes later and were told theres rooms. We go back to the front, after managing to kill one roach, and asked if there were rooms. Scottie said no again, we told her on the phone shes said there were rooms open. She said she didnt want to downgrade us? From a roach infested room? Really? We asked for another room and she tossed a key on the desk.We went down there next morning to ask about a refund and Connie scoffed like we were the issue, not a roach infested room. Ashley was polite and cordial with us, we were refunded the one night we stayed. Canceled the next night and decided to go to Hampton inn.Spoke with multiple patrons who stated they had not enjoyed their stay at Sandcastle. Parking is a joke. If you dont get a spot on either of the parking lots on the side, you have to walk to blocks to their parking deck.I urge whoever is reading this, do not stay here. Bathrooms were dirty, our rooms were dirty, everything looked rundown and shoddy.I would give this place zero stars if I could, it was that bad.

Positive: Nothing Negative: This was supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel and the room smelled like smoke. Also the balcony was so small and one of the air conditions was also blowing hot air onto the balcony. The cabinet door under the sink was broke. The bathroom was filthy.

ROACHES!!!The manager here, by the name of “John”, gave us no help whatsoever. Once we told him of the issues - He gave us 0 options.Here is the story :My husband, our 16 month old son, and I checked in on Saturday the 19th. We first witnessed a cockroach in the kitchen of room 233 (on the 2nd floor). We instantly packed our belongings, went to the front desk, and asked for help. The lady in the office assured us that we could have the same, CLEAN, room at 531 (5th floor). We did as she asked, and moved to 531.Couple days after being in this room, I noticed a rather large cockroach traveling from our room to the kitchen. Next day, we go to front desk. I ask for a manager. The manager, John, tells us that we must be mistaken. I, then, showed him the photographs of the bugs. He says that he cannot give us a refund, he cannot spray for bugs, nor can he move us to another room.He suggested to LEAVE VACATION EARLY!!! This hotel is infested, we witnessed the bugs on 2 different floors of the hotel. Don’t waste your money!!!

First time in Myrtle Beach and probably the last. This hotel did not clean our rooms at all, gave us dirty towels, our toilet handle was broken for multiple days, the indoor pool and hot tub were dirty, the chairs by the pool were broken/run down, you were lucky if you got a nice working chair by the pool and we found a huge cockroach in our room. I would not recommend or stay here again.

The shower head was rusty. The pool area was filthy. The jacuzzi was cold water with no heating. I will definitely look for a different resort my next visit to Myrtle Beach.

Rooms are very comfortable and relaxing. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends and Ill be coming back as well

Positive: I liked that the hotel was right on the beach. Negative: The room was in bad shape. The shower had no water pressure and all the furniture was nasty looking. The table had burn marks, the bathroom counter had some kind of stuff on the top and the dresser was covered in dust.

Positive: This hotel was conveniently located a few blocks away from the boardwalk with easy access to shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and accommodations were good.

It did the job. Only stayed for 2 nights for a weekend getaway. There are 3 different buildings that you might stay at so this is only about the one we had. We were allowed early check-in once we called and asked. Decent room. Nothing fancy. We needed a room to sleep, pregame, and change clothes so thats all that really mattered to us. For other individuals that really want the details, here is my review. Slept great both nights. No housekeeping due to COVID-19 so you only get towels and trash cans emptied. All the trash was left in the hallways. Alot of pizza flyers left on the door. Pool was packed usually and needs some tlc. Poolside chairs are falling apart. Rooms good sized. 2 A/C units keep it cool. Found 2 dead water bugs thoughout the stay. A/C units were in the same location of every room on every floor, all above a door into the hotel. Condensation from these units dropped onto you when you walked in all the time. Might be a lttle gross for some people. Location is close to the strip. 2 parking lots and a garage across the street. Parking can be a hassle but it was also a busy weekend. Walking distance to great food and bars. I would stay again if needed but probably just pay another 40 bucks a night to stay elsewhere.

The pictures were a little misleading at first, however my fiance and I enjoyed our stay. We stayed on the 7the floor, from the balcony we saw the beach just as clear. The bar was okay, its next to the pool.

Positive: Staff was friendly and I loved the location of the hotel. Negative: I saw a couple giant flying roaches in my room. I told the front desk and they said they were palmetto bug. But I looked it up and theyâ€re definitely roaches.

Easy booking, clean rooms, nice staff at check in and easy parking right at hotel.

Very friendly maintenance and housekeeping, But, my balcony was a hot mess! the aircoditioning continuously leaked on my balcony, and the balcony was in really bad shape from the nasty water from it leaking, Also the balconies from above continuously leaked water down on us the entire time, we could not walk out the hotel without the air conditioners leaking all over us! And what I really dont understand is they closed down the outside pool, they said it was at 50% capacity? but left open the tiny lazy river, and the inside pool and hot tub, so for 4 of our 7 day stay the kids had no pool to swim in, my friend was told the pool was a privilege and was not a part of what we paid for to stay at the resort?!!? Room was ok, really dated, could use some remodeling or even just update into looking more modern, our chair was all ripped up so we threw blanket on it to make it look better in our room, But the beds was really comfortable, I made a mistake thinking I reserved a room for the Sandcastle Resort that is in South Myrtle Beach? Now that place was really nice!
