After reading the reviews, I was nervous. I think it depends on which condo you rent since they’re all privately owned. Suite 1101 was AWESOME. Three bedrooms FULLY upgraded kitchen, bath, bedrooms, new washer and dryer. No carpet, title floors throughout and TWO balconies. We’ll most definitely be back and all their condos face the beach with direct access to the water. We slept and woke up listening to the sounds of the ocean. Loved it!

View is perfect. Wish they were honest about the pool not being available. Needs a good cleaning

I would rate my room a 2 it was so bad. My issue with Palms-my husband had read a bad review, so I called them within time to cancel my reservation. I was assured my room would be very nice therefore I did not cancel my reservation. I was given this information-some of the rooms are owned by the resort and some were individual owned. This is not true, which I found out the hard way. In other words, the front desk lied to me. I rented through the front desk and not a rental site. They are all individual owned and the front desk will say we do not have any control over how the rooms look. Really, they could refuse to rent the bad rooms until the owners update them. No rental money for the owners and I bet they will update the rooms. Landscaping was great, elevators were clean, view was great, and location was great. I bet the refrigerator, stove, sofa, and mattress was at least ten years old.

I give it one star because of the view of the beach. Other than that the room was run down. Paint coming off the walls, water stains in the ceiling, plumbing smelled (didnt want to take shower) and the room was supposed to be non-smoking, but the extra bedding wreaked if cigarette smoke. You can stay at a much better resort for less money.

We stayed at the Palms in 2019 and returned in 2020 expecting the same experience as our last. There were no staff upon checkin, our room had a broken bed, nasty floors, a blood splatter on the wall and was not what we had paid for. The pool was closed which was not listed when we made our reservation, the resort waited until we were on our way down to send out an automated phone call to let us know. It took 4 hours of our children not being able to step on the floor for hotels.com to be able to reach someone with Palms resort in order to be able to transfer us elsewhere. hotels.com did everything that they could to makeup for the insufficiency of Palms resort, Please do not ruin the first night of your vacation by booking here like we did.

Right on the beach, suite has w+d, two bathrooms. Very secure. Furniture is old. Beautiful view of ocean from balcony. Balcony furniture was badly rusted and falling apart. Overall clean, but slightly musty smelling. Parking was available across the street very short distance.

This spot here is so awesome the outside may not be very attractive. But the 1 bedroom king suite with the ocean from view...AWESOME sauce on everything. Dont second guest just book it.... Younwell fall in love with this place and Wendy is the best front desk person ever.... DC.to SC do it baby

Great location and access to the beach. Every room has a view. Even with covid precautions, it was a great and safe stay.

Overall a great place to stay we are steps away from the beach.. could definitely use a little updating and better cleaning there was hair and toothpaste stains of the sink in the bathroom. But I would stay here again.

I wouldn’t waste your money here. This place is a rip off compared to our next hotel we stayed at called Coral beach resorts and suites. During our two night stay, the bath tub wouldn’t drain. There was blood on the seat in the living room. The bedding was so outdated. All the pools were closed! All amenities were unavailable. The lobby smelled like fart. But we did have nice neighbors and we shared drinks with them! And it was a nice view!

Nice place to stay but bad communication, rented condo, and was not informed that the HOA had closed all of the pools for indefinite period of time, will not stay here again. HOA is a joke .thats the first thing were going to ask about the next time.

This “resort” is anything but. The place is old and gives a motel feel with its outside access to the rooms. Upon checking in, we noticed the balcony door lock was broken and that the door wouldn’t open. When we contacted the front desk, the attendant came to our room to force the door open and then show us the “stick to use” to secure the door. When we asked if we could be switched to a fully functional room he told us we could not even though the resort was not fully booked. Don’t waste your time or money here. The resort needs to be remodeled badly! For a few dollars more we stayed at the Hilton Ocean 22 and was completely satisfied.

OMG...Nooo!!! This place is in need of a complete gut and renovation! Units are condos with individual owners. Ours had furniture from the 80’s, the air conditioner didn’t work and the pool closed. Literally looked like an exact replica of the Golden Girl’s apartment. Final straw came when after a comped upgrade to a supposed better unit..we found BED BUGS...yes you read it right BED BUGS!!! Worst hotel experience ever!

Room overpriced for what you get. Only thing good was the view. All hotels around this one has the pool is open but not this one and nobody mentioned that before hand also no motorcycle parking allowed! All other hotels with those issues tell you upfront but not these liars. Room was after fees almost $300 and assumed those fees were for pool upkeep but when mentioned it to lady at desk oh sorry it should say on website is all I got!!! RIPPED OFF!! Go somewhere else

We enjoyed our stay. Liked how it was a little apartment with balcony and very affordable. The staff is very nice. Its an old original hotel. Expect to see some old age on her but its the coast...the salt ages things. Would stay again and recommend it as well. Your mainly out and about on vacation anyway right? As long as bathrooms and beds are good...then your happy ..and clean it was.

This place needs a lot of work And needs to be clean . The employee named Wendy was very helpful. She needs to get a job at another resort. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. For the price it is a rip-off. Go somewhere else if you plan on staying here. Sincerely

Review pictures definitely dont represent this place. It has a decent bed to sleep in. Feels like sand on the floor, one of the A/C units leaking soaking the area rug, and everything is outdated. 1st floor beach view is basically non-existent because the view is blocked unless you step up on riser. Dont bother with this place if you have a choice.

The palms is a great Central location close to the airport, boardwalk, Broadway at the beach, outlets, restaurants and more. It is walking distance to many shops and dining options including ice cream and Starbucks. We own a unit and completely remodeled it... My mom loved it so much she just purchased a condo there also and is redoing hers. Rick the building manager is phenomenal and Dee, Wendy, Brent and the team at the front desk are wonderful. Not all condos have been redone but a lot of them have been... So your stay or purchase experience will be specific to the condo you choose. The resort has an outdoor pool and spa, indoor pool and spas, fitness room, laundry room.

Dont bother spending any money here! Plenty other places worth money. After quarantine, family was so excited for vacation only to find out after arriving all amenities were closed presumably due to covid, but all hotels around us were up and running. We were unaware of this prior to arrival. Inside the room the towels felt like sandpaper, the provided beach chairs were broken, room was sandy,etc. On first night, the office was closed and we had not been provided blankets and pillows! My husband kept me from the office fearing I would get us kicked out and have nowhere to go. Spent way too much money on a hotel that I wouldnt have paid for at all. The only thing this place had to give it another star was the beach. My kids did enjoy the ocean, which saved this trip.

They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Clean room affordable prices and the staff was great. Will be coming back!

I had a wonderful experience staying at palms resort, after having trouble checking in through booking.com. Ms.Dee hotel manager was very nice and helpful to get me check in. I would definitely come back if Ms Dee is around.

Room was ok. Beds were AWFUL and the door to the suite looked like it had been kicked in and not repaired properly. I loved the view though! And the full kitchen was a great perk.

Had sand all through my bed. people were setting fireworks off at night. Really overpriced. Pool wasnt working. Kitchen and bathroom were really dirty. Really old and towels were brown from age. Definitely wouldnt recommend.

My wife and I stayed in the penthouse room #3 in July and it was horrible. Room was nice but we couldnt control the air conditioner on the thermostat because the owner controlled the thermostat remotely and and the hotel couldnt get in touch with owner. The temperature got up to 82 degrees. We were there for 5 days and couldnt control the air conditioner. Miserable

I had a wonderful time at Palms Resort everything was clean and put in place. I didnt have any complaints. The ocean view was wonderful.

Our room assignment upon arrival was not acceptable. Front desk very quickly responded and offered another room. Much better and matched our confirmation rm type. Indoor pool. closed but outdoor pool heated. Kids had fun.Rooms need update and felt a bit uneasy in the area . Front desk agents great and very helpful.

I would not recommend this hotel at all . Me and my fiancé booked this resort for Fourth of July weekend and when I say it was raggedy didn’t look anything like the picture at all soon as we walked in we walked right back out looked like a motel 8 horrible condition out dated floor sticky very nasty smelled old I would again never recommend this place. Make sure to do research before book as I have learned my lesson.

I seen a couple of dead roaches in the lobby area. The room was decent for the price.

I have stayed at 3 different units at The Palms, all were booked through either VRBO or Airbnb. I have been very satisfied with all three. Rooms can be booked through the front desk too, but I prefer seeing pictures of the units and choosing the one and price I want. If you want to book through the front desk they will be very helpful. The best views are the 3-bedrooms in the North Tower as they have both front ocean views and unobstructed side views toward the town of Myrtle Beach, only a mile or so away. xx02 are the corner units. The one bedrooms are in the South Tower and have direct front views of the ocean. The Palms is in a great location, within walking distance to Pier 14, the Boardwalk, shops, and numerous restaurants, but not in a noisy area. I have stayed at other resorts in Myrtle Beach, only to walk 1-2 blocks to park car (compared to 2 covered garages across the street) and to find the ocean view is straight out with views of buildings on both sides, if that. The pictures are of 1402, a newly decorated unit. My 2nd choice would be the 3-bedroom xx01 units.

It was very dirty.. Everything was broken or in disrepair.. The vent were leaking as well as the roof.. The lines smelled of rott, as though they were left in the wash for too long.. The shower curtain was stained horribly.. The knobs on the dressers werent even screwed in and were left laying next to the drawers they were supposed to be screwed in.. The screened in patio off the second bedroom looked as though it belonged in a horror film.. The mattresses were stained.. If was just BAD BAD BAD

We just checked in today and we already have issues. Be careful when booking “oceanfront rooms”. We paid more to get a hotel/room that’s oceanfront and we got in a room with a parking lot in front of us, a rooftop in front of us, and two big hotel walls on both sides of us. It is definitely more of an ocean view. We talked to the front desk about the issue and they were sold out of rooms.. we understand they can’t do anything about this but they acted like they didn’t even care that we were unhappy with our room. We explained how this was not what was advertised to us (which we booked off of their website), and they told us that at it was our fault that we don’t like our view because we should’ve requested a better floor when we booked it. We asked if there was anything they could do for us and they just told us no and the woman we talked to was very rude. This is our first night and we are already disappointed with the stay. There are other hotels here with better ocean fronts for cheaper. I am really not the one to take the time to write bad reviews but I paid good money for an oceanfront hotel room which is not what I got.

This place is old, but our unit was clean. Pool was closed because of Covid but we werent notified of that fact before or during booking. We wont be back.

Room was newly remodeled and nice but hotel is very dated. Location is directly on beach but also on top of the road! We had trouble sleeping because of all of the noise from the street. The parking for the hotel was terrible. We were in a F250 and the parking garage was only 6 foot maybe. Only a few cars could get in the garage. There were 7parking spaces at the hotel itself. 2 of those being unloading spots. They gave us permission to park in one of those but everyone was trying for those because of garage.

This place was very nice place to stay. The only thing is they need to replace the mattress they were very worn.

The staff was nice enough. Cleaning lady was super nice and considerate. My issue had to do with the them dropping the ball with our room. I paid for something I didn’t get. When I was told I would be called to change rooms the next day, I was forgotten. No call and no apologies. Other than that, the room was ok and I got what I paid for. View was excellent. Indoor pool had odd smell.

Our hotel room was dirty. There was urine all over the toilet in the bathroom when we arrived. The beds were uncomfortable and the blankets seemed to be dirty. Staff was rude and stereotyped based on our age at check-in. Maintenance was drilling into the walls in the room next to us very early in the morning. You could hear everything in the street.

Very much in need of some TLC! Rooms are very out of date. For the money they should’ve been nicer. Grounds were pretty descent but very small. My room obviously was smoked in a lot. Smelled super bad. We had to make a trip to the store to get air fresheners just to tolerate staying. Most of the outlets didn’t work in the room. Very disappointed in the room. I will find a different location to stay next time.

I got a room at this place through Expedia and I felt cheated because I felt as if I was going to get a solid room and I got the exact opposite. Its extremely outdated, very gross, the kitchen we were promised was there but nothing like the pictures.. we were promised a dining room table but when we got the room there were no tables at all! Alot of the outlets within the room dont work either! The building itself looks extremely old and if I knew this was going to be my experience I would have never have purchased the room...the pictures online are complete lies and totally misleading. I would never come back here. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Be careful with this resort. They do fraudulent charges on your card. They charged me twice and then tried to say they didn’t see it on their end when clearly it was showing on my bank that the payment posted and then was re processed a couple of days later. Will never use them again.

Memorial weekend, pool doesnt look like it held water in years, bathroom didnt have any towels, 2 pillows for two double beds,people running up and down the halls all night, cant call anyone, till next morning. Never again

Dont waste your hard earned vacation money. The smell when u walk in the front door smells like the carpet hasnt ever been cleaned. Very out dated which would be fine if we didnt pay the price we paid. Bed sheets were stained and bed comforter had a rip in it. The door to our unit could of been opened while it was locked with small force. All the locks didnt match up and a hinge wasnt even connected any longer. Very disappointed it has a great location and a lot of potential but needs a full renovation. Dirty paint, dirty corners, dirty plates, chipped mugs. I really could go on. Good luck if u stay here. I have a family of 6 it could of been a great space if they took the time and effort to update.

The staff was rude and berating, the pool was freezing, the hot tubs were not much warmer, the announcements each morning woke up my entire group. One morning on the announcements my room number was listen as having been the subject of a noise complaint. We left at about 8 that night and got back around 11 then went to the hot tub, which was cold, and then went to bed. We made zero noise and the people in our group who didnt go out with us knew this since they werent woken up by us. regardless, the manager decided to publicly call us out during the morning announcements that woke us up. would stay anywhere else in myrtle beach.

I dont know what these other people are complaining about, because our room is fantastic! Clean, tidy, nice attention to detail, I couldnt ask for more. Tellis at the front desk was polite, professional, helpful, I mean this place is great. I very highly recommend it!

Location, location, location earns this rating. The towers are well looked after, Id say late 70s to early 80s architecture and you really cant have a bad view as, to my knowledge, all condos are ocean view. Id suggest booking one of the upper units because again, you just cant beat that view! Rates are very reasonable for on beach ocean front. Overall wonderful experience being first visit back to Myrtle beach since my youth, still has the family adventure feel and Palms resort is a new member of my cherished memories!

This place was in terrible shape definitely not a three or four star hotel there was Grime in the hot tubs and the pool. It was pretty disgusting. I had to wait until exactly 4:01 p.m. to check in I dont know the room was ready no Hospitality whatsoever. Finally got to the room and the keypad did not even work so the door would not lock I could have gone in hours before instead of sitting there waiting. Also when I made the reservation I was told my card would be charged $262 my bank account was debited for $358 which they said is a cleaning fee yeah we had to clean before we left

Location location location! It was the perfect location for us. We walked 5 miles on the beach every day was the best! Nice hot tub, convenient laundry (only 2 sets but I only waited once to use) and a handy gym by the laundry room-so worked out while waiting for the laundry! Great staff. Elevators worked, too!

TERRIBLE!!! Go somewhere else. Does not deserve a 1. Should be a 0. We checked in went up to our room on the second floor turned around went straight back downstairs and checked out. I was told that I couldnt get a refund for one of the nights. I told the clerk that the payment would be stopped on the credit card because that room was unacceptable.The room was very outdated. The bed appeared as if someone had slept on it recently. (Not cleaned). All kitchen table chairs were in the bathroom. Couch cushions were not properly in the couch. All pictures crooked. There is no way that room was serviced properly before our arrival.

Staff was friendly, beautiful ocean view, nice location close to boardwalk but the towels had stains, no pans in the kitchen,washer and dryer broke,beds are uncomfortable and pool was closed. You get what you pay

TERRIBLE!! If I could give it a one star, I definitely would! I payed over a thousand dollars for a one bedroom condo that was disgusting. We asked to change rooms 4 different times and they were all disgusting. Some reviews are good but i would NOT trust them. The pools and the hot tub are great, but the whole entire place is so nasty. My family will never be returning.

This hotel is more like a two-star hotel, not a four star. There was a full kitchen, living room area, and balcony looking over the ocean- which was nice. It was fine, because we were not in the room very much. But, definitely not a four star hotel. There was garbage all over the hallway, when I needed something it took multiple calls then having to go down to the front desk myself. Also, It is quite a walk to the ferris wheel and restaurants, about 20 minutes one way. For the money, I would stay somewhere else.

Didnt like the room set up. I would have preferred the bed be on the ocean side. Staff was nice though and parking was pretty good

Tellis is awesome! We was having an issue with another resort and he came to our rescue. The resort is really nice and also the staff. My friends and family were very impress with the facility. We will definitely be coming back next year!

Came to Myrtle Beach for the annual Carolina Country Music Festival. NOT IMPRESSED with this hotel. The first room they put us in was absolutely disgusting, outdated, and literally falling apart. The bathroom had mold, the door between the room and living area was completely rotted, and the sliding glass door would not open. After speaking w/the reception desk, they were able to move us into a different room, but I will not stay there again. I understand the rooms are individually owned, however, there should be a guideline the owners have to follow.

Should have read reviews before I booked. My husband was dying and I was stressed. I booked a place we came to years ago. Now I get panic attacks so dont want to complain....BUT blinds in bedroom are broken so I have put cardboard and paper on widow for privacy. No cover on balcony air conditioner and I hate seeing exposed wires. No wine glasses..am I being picky? Limited dishes. At least I am alone and dont need more dishes. Dish towels and dish cloth would be nice. Great view and great beach and enjoyed pool and hot tub. I will survive but wont recommend this place. Must be lots of other choice and I figure by tomorrow there will be more to complain about. Forgot to mention shower curtain that fell down.

The condo we rented for five days was fantastic, a definite 5 star experience. The management at the front desk however...at 230 pm on a Tuesday a very loud, rude female voice who repeated herself at long lengths blared throughout the intercom reminding everyone to keep their sliding doors shut. As we were all deeply napping with everything shut we were at first alarmed then angry at this rude lengthy intrusion upon our vacation. This should not be tolerated by top management.

Liked location. Lack of things to do if you just wanted to stay in hotel. Had to walk to shops few blocks away. They do not allow motorcycles on the property. I won’t be back.

I came to the palms in june with my sister and had a great time and room we had a one bedroom oceanfront room. So I decided to bring my parents down in October. We stayed in a three bedroom condo. It was awful. The sliding door in the living room was so hard to get open that we had to go out on the master bedroom to get to the deck. The refrigerator rocked and was not level. The washer didnt work. The microwave felt like it was coming out of the wall when you opened it. When we said something they said the home owner is aware of this. They should not even rent this room out. Number 1602. I will not come back. I will go somewhere else.

We were there in early August 2019. Upon entering our room on the 16th floor we found it to be dirty. Floors covered in dirt and sand. Kitchen greasy counters. Sand all over beds. They apologized. Said they would give us VIP cleaning and charged us for it. The sofa sleeper was BROKEN and they admitted knowing about it even though they knew we specifically need room for 8 adults. All the balcony doors locks were broken. Very unsafe for our toddler. Dryer not working. Hooks falling off of walls and doors. Many lights were not working. Very dissatisfied for the money. Will not ever be going back.

Hotels misrepresented accommodations; should have been 2 King, 2 Singles & Sofa. it had 1 King, 1 Queen with Bunk beds in same room & 2 singles that looked wedged in a sardine can. Hot water inadequate..daughters shower fine, son-in-laws cold by the end of his, granddaughters shower no hot water -- totally unacceptable...no bath mats or hand towels or kitchen towels. it would be nice if potential renters were informed beach towels arent provided. Weston at Palms Resort was quite helpful in attempting to rectify the situation within his capabilities.

Cons- One of the elevators was messed up and would stop at random floors. Room leaked water from ceiling the entire time. Laundry machines stole our quarters. Pros- Ok gym, 3 hot tubs, pools, beach access. Great views, two balconies.

Terrible service, room wasnt cleaned when we left for the beach the whole day honestly worst hotel Ive stayed In Id rather stay at a holiday inn sheets werent cleaned when we got here then when I called down to the front desk I had to go get them and make the bed myself, when we checked in a guest in the penthouse house was complaining that there was no ac and the front desk told him you are out of luck, shower is either boiling hot or ice cold everything is just honestly terrible worst hotel Ive stayed in seriously choose any other hotel in myrtle beach
