A great place for a quick relaxation or sit down. Complimentary hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and water. It also has a great chalk wall for my toddler to draw on when we visit and coloring books. My family is very appreciative of the Liberty Lounge. It is very well marked for military members and their guests and the sign is worded clearly that it is for veterans, reservists, and active duty.
The Liberty Lounge is an amazing place to have a nice sit down and relax. My family and I stop in everytime we go to Colonial Williamsburg to walk and visit. They have the cleanest bathrooms also! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and water are all at the ready for military affiliated families. The wonderful historical military photos and challenge coins are a must look at while there. Next time we are there Ill be dropping off a couple Seabee challenge coins too! Thank you guys for all you do!
Military stop in for free hot chocolate/coffee/tea! Good company. Clean restrooms. Take a break or a drink to go if you are retired, veteran, or active duty.
Nice folks. Air conditioning on hot day. Have a rest room. Good location too
Friendly, warm and inviting. Great respite. Bring your challenge coin for the shadow box.
This is a favorite stop when visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Always feel welcome. Some nice cool water or a coffee.
A great respite from the heat. Free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water. Nice and quiet.
Very small space, but they have got coffee and coco, fresh water and a bathroom, plus drawing room with a chalkboard and crayon stencils for the kids. You can imagine how grateful we were to duck in here on a freezing day we got caught in the rain to boot! There is stroller parking and doggy posts outside along with water dishes for the dogs.Theres also outdoor picnic benches and sitting for the nicer days.*wheelchair accessible, but super cramped!
Nice place to take a break. Staff was so nice!
A nice little stop for Veterans visiting Historic Williamsburg. Cool off in the summer or warm up in the winter. Free coffee and hot chocolate. Only need Pass and Military ID. Very friendly staff.
Thank you Colonial Williamsburg for the thoughtfulness of providing the Liberty Lounge. The respite from walking and visiting is much appreciated and the staff of volunteers is wonderful.
My wife mentioned that, with our paid, military discount admission to the park, we also received complimentary access to something called the Liberty Lounge for military veterans. Id never heard of it before. We spent a good amount of time in the rest of the park and then noticed the sign for the lounge so we stopped in. What an oasis! Temp outside was in the 90s and humid. This place was cool and comfortable. If it was only for that, Id say it was a worthwhile stop just to rest for a bit and have a cold glass of water. The real treat for this stop however, is the warm welcome you will receive as a military veteran. There were many friendly volunteers present to answer your every call for whatever youd like to be comfortable during your visit. I soon found a vacant rocking chair and struck up a conversation with a very nice lady who was helping with the excellent coffee station they offered. She shared stories of her childhood, growing up in the Yorktown area and also those of her life with her husband who was a Naval aviator. This was easily the best part of my visit to the lounge. Im a 20 year Army veteran, now retired for 7 years. As the years go on since my separation from active duty, my wife and I find it more and more difficult to find people with whom we can share and relive the our peculiar military lifestyles. If youre a veteran, then you know what I mean. It was very nice to be in an environment where talking about the old days with a new friend whod experienced similar things was welcomed and encouraged. I understood this lounge was made possible by a grant from the Home Depot in cooperation with the park. Thank you very much for offering such a wonderful place for veterans to meet, relax and recharge!
A nice resting place for veterans and active duty military. They provide water and coffee for free as well as a place to rest your legs in a climate controlled environment.
Awesome place for Veterans to get a coffee and mingle! Thanks for your hospitality!
Staffed by friendly helpful volunteers. Coffee tea water available free. Open only for active or retired military.
A very attractive, comfortable facility. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating. A restful stop for a hot or cold beverage and a quick rest. Thank you to the Mars family for your generous donation.
Available to military ticket holders; think small USO: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, restroom, and a place to rest out of the heat. Helpful staff.
Wonderful place to take a rest and chat with other military families
Really sweat and endearing spot in Colonial Williamsburg set out to show veterans appreciation and give them a warm cup of coffee or hot chocolate (it was winter). They welcome vets or active duty soldiers from any army, just mention it when purchasing your ticket (they usually ask).
A wonderful welcome to veterans and their families in Colonial Williamsburg. Staffed by friendly volunteers. Beverages and a nice place to relax for a few minutes. Much appreciated.
A fantastic offering as a rest stop for both active duty and retired military. The volunteers are very hospitable. Watch for the sign on DoG street near the Raleigh Tavern.
Great place to go on a hot day
Friendly hostess and a wonderful place to relax .
Great hostess very friendly fun atmosphere
Great place for military families to stop in at Colonial Williamsburg!
My son and I were there in Williamsburg va on Dec.6,2018. Not knowing this place was for veterans only ( we didnt see the very small misworded sign outside that it was verterans only) we would have not gone in anyway. My ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil war, wwII, korean war. But thats beside the point. We went in only to get a bottle of water. The lady in side told us to go else where to get the water. She was very rude and really spoiled my afternoon in Williamsburg Va. I really hope she sees this post or the people at Williamsburg takes notice of the way some of their workers act. I think they call this discrimination.
Nice place to take a break. Very friendly and helpful volunteer staff!
Mice, quiet place to rest. Welcoming and friendly staff.
Great place to chill for a bit.
Very friendly people they have hot tea, hot cocoa, hot coffee, and water to drink all free for the military and their family that paid for the park
It was so very nice, stumbling upon this place, not knowing it existed. I was recently at FT Eustis going through a short 17 day course. I decided to visit Colonial Williamsburg on an off weekend. When my legs were getting tired, and I needed a coffee, I saw the sign.... Great people all around.
Wonderful spot, a real hidden gem in Williamsburg. We appreciated yall so much!
It is a very nice idea but VERY small. If you can get a seat you constantly feel like you are taking someone elses spot.I am a disabled veteran, with two bad legs. I can walk, it just hurts, a lot. I also have to make frequent restroom stops. I was glad to see this place put in since I need to sit and let my legs...calm down.Sadly, I can rarely even get a seat in here and the bathrooms are so tiny as to be almost useless. One person at a time with ten to twenty people lined up on the days that I was there. My wife and I are in Williamsburg a lot but I have stopped even going in the Liberty Lounge. Dont get me wrong, I applaud CW for doing it but it is far to small to accommodate the number of veterans and active duty that are there on a given day.Cmon, we LOVE CW and take our families there a lot.
Only for service people. Very helpful and friendly volunteers.
Love this place... Hooah!
Such a great place to stop by and relax with the family.
