Great family or work adventure. Price may seem high, but the memories are worth it. Great obstacles, super safe, knowledgeable staff.The smell of crunched leaves and brisk air was intoxicating with the sounds of the latching metal clasps and zinging of the wires as the smooth rollers carried us through the sky is a memory that will stick with you forever.We went once and they weren’t busy and they let us go through twice! Went once and the group ahead of us was slow, they let us go back through the previous completed sections.

Great location! About an hour from central Virginia. You are given thorough directions about safety and the guides are there at various points throughout the course to make sure everything is okay. Course takes about 2-3 hours. We loved it!

Scary (someone afraid of heights and nature), but thrilling. Would definitely go again! Great, comforting, and overly safe/ protective/ caring staff!!! Loved axe throwing, journey adventure (pulse racing), monkey jump (petrifying but did it)! Astounding, astonishing, exhilarating! Thrill rush! Looking for something youve never done... Bring your children! Inspiring!

Nice, friendly staff. Safe equipment. We did the Journey Ropes course which was super fun. Im definitely out of shape but was able to do this just fine. There are 3 different levels to go through in 1 hr, we had enough time to do one of the levels again. Not bad for $30/pp. Well definitely be back. We wanted to do Axe Throwing but that is closed until the 25th. After you finish the course, each person gets a 25% off coupon for their next visit with plenty of time to use it.

Sooo much fun! For the little ones and the adults. Did both the Treetop Journey and the Treetop Adventure. My 4yo son loved the Journey, did an amazing job and no fear! The Adventure was more challenging, as an adult... but so much fun. The zip lines are a blast!

What a great time. Did the adventure course and went for the expert side anytime there was a choice. It was physically challenging but fun at every moment. Staff was great, thorough, and always checking up on you. Little slow moving because of the needed separation for COVID will at each platform in the trees. Also did monkey drop at the end. That was a lot of fun just climbing the ladder to the top. The drop was definitely fun too. Would do again for sure.

Cool place for kids but they require masks for kids even under 10 when they are outside on the grounds. Unnecessary and way too restrictive IMO. No evidence of outdoor transmission. Even more strict than the governors mandate.

I was very nervous before this but kinda got the hang of it towards the end if you like a challenge definitely try the “Tarzan swing” i’m only visiting virginia and this is my first time zip lining and i enjoyed it so much thanks to josh for making everything look easy !

It was our first visit and it won t be our last. Its a great place to take the kids for the obstacle courses in the trees, and zip lining for them and for adults who dont want to do the longer and higher zipline. The staff was great and healpful.

We had a great time! At first I was cautious after reading several reviews about no helmets, safety, etc. but I must say our guide, Josh, was great! He was very thorough explaining how to use the equipment properly, how we are responsible for our own safety, and demonstrated how to proceed through the course. I did the tough track course and when I was not able to complete a part of the track Josh was right there to assist and help me though it. Cant tell you how fun it was!!!

My son and I enjoy ziplining. Go Ape was fun but I was actually expecting more. Theres only 5 courses to complete and it goes by pretty quick. If youre looking for more bang for your buck, go to the adventure park in Virginia beach. You get 3 hours of time with more than 5 courses to choose from.

We had a great time! Our group was ages 7- adult with varying skills. The entire staff was wonderful- super friendly, energetic, professional and patient. Would definitely visit again.

Had a great time with the family! Everyone was so helpful and encouraging! Miles and Hannah were a great help and I love that the staff remembers the kids names while you’re there! We did the Jr course with the family and it was tons of fun! There is a neat waiting area near the course with corn hole, giant jenga and other fun games. There is also a playground, pavilion and walking trail across from the property which is great for Lunch and a nice afternoon out!

We tried axe throwing. Everyone had a great time.

Need to work out before trying this again. Had a great time and I am sure I am going to feel it in 2 days.

A great time for the whole family.

Took my 4 year old here, it was our first time going and he loved it. The instructors were very friendly and professional.There are 2 youth courses that we went on, one a little tougher than the other, my son was able to do both although he definitely preferred the easier one with the guide rope.There are a decent number of obstacles on each course although they definitely repeat themselves to a degree and a zip line at the end.Overall, I thought the pricing was probably a little steep for what you get which is why I deducted a star, its not steep enough that I wouldnt recommend the place, but for a family of three it cost $92 for an hour of time on the courses.A lot of fun though and great exercise thats all outdoors, so I would still recommend it to everyone!

This was very fun and me and my girl enjoyed ourselves for my birthday. The staff is very friendly, but Josh, the one that looks like Tom Holland, he is an amazing spirit, worker, and guide you can tell he really enjoys what he does and he deserves a promotion from whatever his position is now. They need more people to implement his approach, his concern, and his PATIENCE, with working with first timers and moderate climbers....Anyways, excellent place, great birthday gift, def coming back. ️️️️️

Would definitely recommend going in the morning. We were the first people out and really enjoyed ourselves because there wasnt much of a backup. I personally dont like heights very much, but I never really felt scared or uneasy with this course. The instructors are energetic and very willing to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable the entire time! Would go again!

What a fun place. Extremely good staff, very helpful. And it is a challenge.

Fun course, it got extremely crowded and we had a lot of waiting to do. The course took us over 3 hours to do. There are a couple of places where you get to choose your path and the extreme routes are fun and physically challenging. Zip lines are fun. Training up front is enough to get you through the course. I would recommend bug spray and sturdy shoes... They will get dirty!

Fun trip for the family..

Had an amazing time and the staff 100% care about all guest. I had a very immature teenage in the group and our instructor never once lost her professionalism with him. If I was her I totally would have and I also would of kicked him off the course. Oh and I thought I wasnt afraid of heights... Turns out I am. I finished the course because I didnt want to quit in front of everyone but I was scared $#!% less.

Me and my husband went on a Friday, not much crowded. It was great! Fun experience and totally worth it. Some course have option of easy and extreme and based on our strength we can choose. We loved it! Definitely going back.

Amazing! Had a great time. Awesome instructor, Jo. Beautiful weather. Only drawback was some lady complaining about wearing a full body harness. For her own safety. But the staff handled her with kindness. I felt safe at all times. Great way to spend the afternoon.

It was a great experience! Reach outside your comfort zone and try this. The only thing wrong was at the beginning, the instructor was very dry and not that helpful when learning how to use the gear. Along the trail they had other staff that was very helpful and full of joy. Totally worth the money!

Friendly staff and very accommodating. Highly recommend based on staff. Course is descent; however, depending on what each individual considers difficult, this one is not what I consider the most difficult course that I have been on. All in all, still a nice place and alot of fun.

I must say when we came into the front store / check in it was very pleased with the way we were welcomed and the service on explaining the safety and going over everything was totally awesome Im so very pleased with the way this Go Ape is run the up keep everything was 100% to the BEST I will definitely be returning with my wife and 4 kids

This place was awesome! Ive always wanted to do something like this and Go Ape has been the most fun and hardcore one I could find. It wasnt as challenging as I was hoping for but it has by far been the best and the longest. They say on their website that it will take much longer than it actually did to complete the course. Maybe if your group had more people it could take longer but for just two people it lasted about an hour. Our instructor was GREAT. He gave us great pointers and kinda let us do our own thing and kept his distance and didnt hover but was close by if we needed help. Overall it was really fun and I would love to do again.

My best friend and I went were pleasantly surprised at how empty it was. I had been zip lining before in Virginia Beach but this was her first time. Their courses are excellent and worth the drive since VB doesn’t have near as much space or height in comparison. The staff was courteous and insightful. We both felt safe and courageous all at the same time.

I had the VERY BEST day of the year there. I had way too much fun! It should be a sin. The staff are happy, free and full of energy. From start to finish, I was extremely happy. I will definitely go there again. Ill be taking my dad, whose never been. Hes gonna LOVE IT. I even bought a sweatshirt because I loved my experience so much.

So much fun!! Exceeded my expectations completely. The workers are so kind, helpful and not judgmental at all. Beyond grateful I got to experience something so exciting and adventurous which was a nice change from the typical tourist activities in the area.

Josh was a fantastic safety guide! Fun, charming and honest haha the tree top adventure took about an hour and was a blast! Two Tarzan swings, choose your route on a few obstacles and thoroughly exhausting. Just enough adrenaline to get you going. You do get dirty so please take them at their word and dont go in all dainty. It was perfect weather when we were there and practically a clear course of other patrons at the time we went. We actually showed up an hour after our time and they still let us go. Big thanks for that!! Great for small groups of fairly fit people. Some of the obstacles do make you work so have fun but be aware. Thanks for the highly entertaining outing Williamsburg team!

Had a great time with the family... Enjoyable, light, and friendly staff. The obstacles are fun and anyone can do them from young to old. The ziplines get higher and higher as you progress to the end. So worth it. Get out and enjoy!

It was my first time ever going zip lining so I was nervous at first. The staff made it so much easier to just go for it and made it clear we were safe.

Great experience! We went with a group of friends and we send 2 hours in the woods. Good obstacle courses with variety.

I will never go back there in my life. I will always recommend that people stay away from there. I simply cannot believe the horrible safety protocols they have in place. They are taking citizens and giving them just a little bit of training and then turning them loose to hook themselves up on the safety lines. Sure, they are supervising but they do so from the ground where they are useless.We have been to several zip line courses through the years. The other places give the customers helmets and a padded leather glove to control the speed on the zip lines. Other places have two guides with each group. One instructor goes ahead of the first customer to receive them at the end of the zip. The other instructor does all of the hooking up and regulates the persons to ensure safety.None of that was done here!!If you have a death/disability wish, this is the place to go.

We brought our 4 year old so that will paint the rest of this review. Staff was very helpful with or son and he had a wonderful time. He was able to do both of the tree top journey courses. There are height requirements 33 for the course we did. There was a course for older kids/adults.

Great family outing!

It was exhilaratingly exhausting. The variety of crossings between the trees was equally exciting and challenging. Each of 5 areas ended with a thrilling zip line. Safety and enjoyment went hand in hand.

Staff was very friendly, the training portion was helpful and informative. I was weary about the instructions not being right with you, but they are down below and in ears reach when needed. The option between a harder obstacle and an easier obstacle is nice. My one complaint and the reason I can’t give a full 5 stars is because I really thought there would be more zip lines. Maybe I didn’t read the website thoroughly enough but there were only 4 maybe 5 actual zip lines if you count the small one when you go through the training and over 12 obstacles. After the 5th obstacle for me at least the adrenaline and fun feeling was gone. If there were more zip lines it’d be a lot more fun!

A physical challenge. Constant observation for safety. Knowledgeable and pleasant staff. Thanks for a great day in the trees.

Excellent course, great staff, so much fun

Just finished the junior course with my wife and kids (4 and 7). It was great! A good challenge and team work opportunity. It was well run from booking to check-in to on-course instruction. The kids are bummed to be leaving, but were heading right next door (very short walk) to the playground. Also, bathrooms were clean and convenient. All in all a great place to get some energy out and enjoy the outdoors.

We signed up for this for our honeymoon treat. We actually arrived an hour early, and wanted to check if there was anything we needed to do before hand, and they said we could join the earlier group. They have a nice intro program where they get you fitted with your safety gear, then show you how things are set up, complete with hands on On-The-Ground cables to practice your connections. They have 5 separate courses with the 1st. Wing the training one for you to get acquainted with the set up while an instructor is with you. Some of the courses offer a choice of course direction between easy or difficult. Some of the difficult ones are quite difficult. The rings seem to be the hardest for Everyone! Gloves are helpful to prevent blisters. There are water stations and seats at the beginning of each course. Instructors are near all the courses to help if you have a problem. If you want to take a camera, keep it in a string. You wont need sunglasses because you are under the treetops. Plus you might lose them like I did, but Sam, the instructor, was nice enough to pick them up and take them to the office for me to get later. Everyone is nice, friendly, and helpful.

Absolutely loved this park. Great for walking, bike riding and just enjoying . Will definitely be returning.

Large facility. Easily 2+ hours to complete. Very labor intensive. We had a very good time. The website recommends gloves, but you dont really need them. There are 5 sections. Some with optional routes.

Thrilling but time consuming

Two levels of zip-lines with opportunities for young adventurers. If children are too small there is a nearby playground appropriate for them. No sandals allowed, so plan ahead. Check prices online. Bathrooms nearby but bring your own refreshments. A fun adventure.

This was my 10th time attending Go Ape but my first time visiting this site and it did NOT disappoint! I was a little nervous because I came alone for the first time but my safety instructor, Jacob (his favorite color is blue), made me feel just as comfortable as my home site does. Highly recommended!! Ill definitely be back next time Im in the area!

Absolute Fun

Weve been meaning to go for about 1.5 years and finally went several weeks ago (August). It was pretty fun, especially the zip lines. We didnt do all the courses because a storm blew through, however, I doubt I wouldve anyway. After the first 3-4, we were ready to check that box (complete) and go grab some mexican fare down the street. We had fun on the ones we did though!
