Its peaceful. Everyone was wearing a mask. Its a bit sad and alarming the amount of trash I saw in the lake. Otherwise a great place to go for a run, bike ride, walk or just enjoy some outdoors.
Lovely spot with plenty of room to spread out. Parking is somewhat limited but decent. Beautiful lake with paddle boating and kayaking available as well as a carousel and playground, picnic tables, and at least one reservable pavilion. On nice days the paddle boats go fast so do yourself a favor and reserve online!
I love walking with my dogs, its a wonderful family atmosphere. My son loves going to lake accotink and seeing the water rush over the dam and going to the little beach.
It was not at all what I expected, but thats not to say it was not good! It was really really nice, the trail is well maintained and theres lots of places off the trails where you can just look out at the lake and nature or eat your lunch. Its definitely not a hiking trail (which is what I was expecting). However, if youre looking for a nice, scenic leisurely walk this is the place for you.
A well maintained park with excellent amenities at very reasonable prices. A great place for families to spend time together.
Great place for a hike, for being outdoors with kids. Got a nice big trail and a few small ones. Have hosted my kids birthday party here. The park is well maintained and the staff is very nice. It has paddle board and kayaks on rentals. Kids love playing on the beach on the sand and the carousel as well.
Lake Accotink is a gorgeous lake with an amazing trail that loops around the lake and connects to the rest of the Accotink Trail. The trails are very well maintained and there are many beautiful areas where you can rest and really take in its picturesque scenery. The trails are perfect for walking, running, or cycling. However, there are some spots where the trail narrows or there are blind turns, so just be mindful of others and your surroundings while on the trail. Overall, I enjoyed this lake very much and it has provided one of the greatest opportunities to get some fresh air during the pandemic.
We didnt have a chance to explore the entire park but it looked to have great walking trails and bike paths around a good sized lake. The park area and little marina was an excellent spot for a pinic lunch. There was also a carousel, paddle boats, kayaks, plenty of benches and tables, and a pavillion as well as bathrooms. Excellent spot for a fun and relaxing family gathering.
Beautiful area for a ramble or a mountain bike. This is a lovely lake area with pleasant topography and a cool dam area.Pattle boats available for rent.Playgrounds, picnic tables, plenty of wide open spaces.
Had a lovely fall afternoon here, hiking and paddle boating. Prices are extremely reasonable at the marina — we are going back to kayak next weekend! There is ample parking and plenty of picnic space available. It was easy to socially distant which is good because only about 50% of people were wearing masks.
Although there are signs to wear face coverings in phase one of the covid 19 reopening, approximately only two out of five are doing so. It was very busy as normal Sunday, it is a great park to go for a walk or a bike ride. I wish park authorities clean all the dead wood and downed trees and place more benches. Although there are snakes and spiders perhaps you dont want to seat for a long time, but definitely a great view.
Lovely walks in a beautiful setting. The colors of the leaves at this time of year is picture perfect
My parents and I went here for a quick picnic and walk, its a nice change of scenery around DC area.
Beautiful park with good social distancing being practiced. Lovely colors this time of year.
Really loved the area, pretty close to Springfield town center. The entrance we went to was off a more commercial road. Initially tried to walk in but didnt see a pedestrian path just a road for cars and bikes. We drove in and parked and first thing we saw was the waterfall dam type thing which is cool to see in a more urban/suburban area. You could also eat under the railroad tracks on the picnic tables adjacent to the parking lot. The surrounding trails and lake were a nice scenic view which Im sure would have its charm at any time of the year. This place was still pretty busy at dark, (just before 9pm when it closes). Will be going back to explore the rest of the park soon!
Its always good to go back to nature. Feel the breeze of the water and just have some me time every once in a while
Went here when growing up. Went back after many years and was really disappointed. Lake looked dirty and basically abandoned, trash everywear. Walk ways were either cracked and falling apart. Wish they would maintain it better because its a really nice place
Excellent place to spend time with family and friends, you can do kayaking, rent boats and there are many trails to exercise and use your bike.
No seating by the lake, but the scenery is nice particularly if you walk through the woods. Activities at the lake stops at 19.00 hr
Great park. Nice lake - you can rent kayaks and paddle boats for a small fee. There are lots of park benches, picnic tables. Theres also a small playground with swings, mini golf, and a carousel.
Great location to hike but the trails could use better signs(map)
Great hiking trails. And beautiful trees giving plenty of shade.
This is a great park. It has many trails for walking, running, and bike paths. It has a playground thats relatively decent for children. My 8, 5, and 2 year old can all play on it. There is also a carousel and mini put put golf for a small fee. There are also paddle boats for a fee. The lake itself is pretty from afar. Once you get close its kind of gross. However, the other parts of the park outweigh that by far!
Great walk around the lake. Some better signage through the neighborhood area of the trail would be helpful.
One of the cleanest outdoor pavilions Ive been to in a long time. Would recommend planning and outdoor activity there again
Such a nice little oasis with plenty of tree cover on a hot day.
It is so beautiful place to visit and breath fresh air.
Biking, fishing, mini golf and a carousel??? Just a great place in NOVA that helps one forget about the city and concrete jungle. Great spot
Real nice atmosphere I go here to walk frequently and usually walk the whole way. Its always nice to encounter the wild life here too.
This park is delightful! Lovely trails, lots of picnic space, paddleboats and canoes available to rent and even a carousel!
Probably the best place to go when you feel that it is nature time.It is for me anyway. Had the best time here and really didnt wan to leave. Kids were happy and we all were exhausted in a good way when we got home. Planning to return many times this summer.
Plenty of open space, nice trail around the lake, could use more markers on distance.
Took the kids out for a bike ride and had a great time. Very friendly environment today from multiple cultures. Well needed at a time like this. Thumbs up to change in America.
Not the best park I’ve been to, but not bad either. The looping trail around the lake is a lot of fun, and has a lot of places to explore. The park gets a bit crowded. If you want more space, I’d recommend Burke Lake Park. Otherwise, Lake Accotink is still not bad for a nice outing.
Pre Covid it was a great place to spend the day havent been since March though
Great trail to run around the lake.
Good place to walk adn bike but the water is smelly sometimes.
I recommend it to everyone but would say that don’t kids in weekend on this trail as there are many cyclists going back and forth and you can become the trouble to cyclists or they to you. It’s nice one!!
Great place to ride a gravel bike, especially with the Fall foliage
Peaceful and nice place to work out or have a nice walk with family. Picnic area, ducks, lake, carousel and mini golf
One of the most wonderful park. My kids love playing on the sand.. its gives a full feel of a beach to the little kids! Slides are there in the playground.
Almost the most beautiful place on the planet. Lots of trails wildlife and beauty!
So many fun things to do with my 5 year old son!
Great trail and stroller friendly!
One of the best place. My family and I love it.
Its super fun, pretty too
Nice park. Great leg of the ct trail.
I love this park one if the best places to go
Nice park with plenty to do. Has a lot of space for hiking and biking. It has a little beach and also a picnic area for people to enjoy.
Good place to go kayaking although Im not..lol nice walking trails and a good view of the sunset
Fantastic place to bike, walk, jog, kayak, and more. Really well taken care of. Plenty of nearby parking. Picnic tables available to reserve. 3.9 mile trail around the lake. Great times.
Beautiful location. Very peaceful and quiet, except when a train comes through. Lots of turtles and small fish near the edges. A great place to walk, bike or just view nature.
Sandy beach is my sons favorite appeal. Trails for walking and biking open year round; paddle boating, mini golf and carousel among spring and summer attractions. People fish and kayak here too. Excellent for families. Pavilions are in the park as well.
This is a beautiful park, well maintained, great lake view, nice playground for kids, picnic areas, nice trails for biking. I loved everything about this park, the only reason Im taking a star is because of plastic bottles in the water. I think is very important to keep the waters clean for the animal life.
It is a great place to visit for hangouts. Family . Youth . Couple .Boating is available.
Safe with all the vivid stuff, lots of people are using the space! Spend time outside!
Beautiful lake. Nice trail. Benches along the way to rest and enjoy the views
I like going here, its close by and easy access. Wish they had more eating areas close to the water. With covid it makes it difficult since there is only 1 gazebo next to the water.
Hiking around the area. Great place to hike. A little busy by the beach area.
Love this park. walk. run. bike. dog walk. small beach lay area. beautiful scenic routes. benches throughout.
Amazingly dope park... its perfect for families, children, and dogs, !!!!
Beautiful lake. Lots of birds.
Popular park. Access from 395 is tricky.
Good beginner, short but challenging Mountain bike trails. Recently built jumps across steel bridge make it that much better, a worthwhile visit. Biking Bad with TC.
Cool park with everything from walking trails, bike and mountain bike trails, fishing, boating and train watching
Great waterfall nice people and u can paddle boat on the water
Very nice park on a large lake with lots of activities
Always a neat place to visit and relax. The trains coming througb make is more interesting.
Nice place to walk when its too hot outside because of shaded paths
Beautiful park with a great, long walking/biking trail.
This place is an amazing place to kayak or canoe it has pretty trees and wildlife. If you arent into boats it has wonderful trails also with amazing sites and wildlife
I have been going to this park for 30 years. I love it, tons of talks fit biking and running.
Beautiful venue for multiple purposes, including running, biking, hiking and boating. Thank God the powers that be voted on keeping the land and water as it always has been...Unadulterated and beautifully preserved! :-)
Great outdoors for the entire family with easy access and facilities.
Wonderful park to take the family.
I adore this trail. 3 miles around, clearly marked, and mostly flat
Nice park, but many of the attractions don’t open until noon. Also, very crowded on the weekend and hard to be socially distant on the trails.
Nice variety of things to do and explore. Could use a massive clean up effort.
Beautiful to see, hike, walk for families, and pets. Lots to see
Perfect nature place for a family or solo getaway
Nice hike around the lake. Mostly flat. Can ride bikes on it. Trail could use some maintenance in a few places
Nice park considering its location in a densely populated area. Plenty of amenities for the kids: playground, carousel, picnic pavilions, boats, snack bar, etc... Unfortunately, nothing appears to be open in the winter time. The trails around the lake vary from smooth pavement, busted pavement, smooth gravel to boulder embedded mud.
Open public park with a lovely lake and boats/canoes open to use
I often go here for running or walking my dog. Most people are very respectful and friendly. Good place for biking also. The entire lake is about a 5 mile run which is perfect for daily workouts.
Lots to do if you have kids; paddle boats, mini golf, playground, picnic areas, etc.
Good outing with lots to do. Mini-golf is pretty sad though.
Great park! We love the playground, trails, paddle boats. Bathroom and pavilion facilities are very good. Looking forward to the carousel opening again.
Excellent, Big Up to FFX Parks Auth.
Tons of space within the trees to get outdoors during the crazy summer heat, without feeling oppressed by the sun. Great for biking and walking adventures, picnics, some miniature golf and more.
6 a termina of 66 ryyyt turned at .uy 66 guy 666þ I dont thole
Nice place with play area
