Great place to walk my dog. She loves it here. Nice paved walk through the woods.

Park us great for my young sons, especially now with the new playground. The only problem is that the toys get burning hot when its too sunny out. But the park is wonderful if the playground is too hot to play on the water park is right next to it.

Nice workout section, sprinklers and park for kids. No Porters or bathroom available which cause people to use the walking trail. Theres feces and lots of hugs through the trail. Plenty of parking.

Lovely urban forest with paved, handicap accessible trails. Hardwoods, pines and ponds.

Its a great wide open park with a big field for your kids to run around, they just built a new playground there,and the water park and playground are amazing !! my kids had a wonderful time there all this past summer!!!! Theres also plenty of spots in the shade, right near the playground. Just bring a blanket and make it a day!!

Clean and I like the idea of hand sanitizer. All the parks should of had hand sanitizer in the past there would have been less viruses going around

Time to time I come here, the new playground is very good! The small wild life are cute, fishing is nice from what Ive heard. The path is nice for walking, jogging, biking, getting a breather in general. Lovely place in my opinion!

I love this park. Its been getting well fixed up in recent years, which has made it a wonderful place to go. A long trail for running, biking and dog walking. Theres a play ground + water park for the kids and multiple fields for sports that are frequently used by local teams and schools. Fishing, though limited selection, can be done in the water (no swimming, no ice skating in winter.) New gazebo and construction on the play areas seems promising.City park services keep the area pretty clean, though there are fire-pits and benches on a hill that are in shameful condition. There used to be a pond so polluted and trash filled it was green and smelly all year, but its been cleaned which gives me hope for the hill.Great area, go for fun or sport; dont go after dark, like any park. Watch out for ATVs which are not allowed but people bring anyway.

They say the pathway around it is beautiful

Walking trail excellent two and a half miles marked its great quiet its like a nature walk. Also there is manual workout equipment very good for a workout before you go for your walk.

Park Really is awesome the park maintenance guy in charge is very friendly and helpful. The park lately has been taken over with people parking in cars smoking marijuana. Not here to judge but wouldnt you feel better doing it at your own home. Because after leaving the place they also leave their trash. These are mature people who should realize Mom isnt still cleaning up after them. Toss the trash in the cans not the park or parking lot.

Its a place to take my dog so her and i can explore and she can swim. I grew up here as a kid. So many good memories

Remodeling. Almost done!Huge park for baseball, basketball, soccer, kids entertaining, excercise equipment. Water sprinklers for refresh. Pet friendly. Nice view and quiet and relaxing.

Its got a great trail. They quickly clear it when it snows. Dog friendly. Theyve got a park then the water park opens in the summer.

A delight to have in our city great paths to walk on bicycling running dog walking very Scenic and relaxing and calming everybody comes together and just enjoying that environment only thing is I wish they would have open restrooms and hold more events there because its just a beautiful spot

I like the new improvements being made. If I had one request it would be to add street lights in the forest part of Van Horn but its a beautiful place to visit

Excellent walking experience during the morning time as its less crowded.

Its a nice park, I feel it could be a lot better with a groundskeeper maintaining the park. Theres a lot of pipe holes in the middle of the lawn. I guess people take there dogs to do their business so no one curbs their dogs. Theres a lot of potential but people have to pitch in.

I love Van Horn park! A nice place to walk a dog or go for a jog... theres a paved pathway thats between 2-3 miles long, a couple small ponds, and a large field with two baseball diamonds, a soccer field etc. There are also two serviceable basketball courts near the main entrance. Bathrooms are located by the basketball courts, but are not always open.

For a park in Springfield, Van Horn is nice. I have fond memories of road races and fishing there. The walking/bike path is approximately 3 miles which is perfect for a run!

Well it is a great soccer field for one thing but the grass is less cared about. But it is a good place.

Park has fields to play soccer, football, and baseball. Not for children.the playgroud is horrible.not kept up at all. It has a water park. I dont get how people can not take care of it. It is so far back that you have to cross the field to get to it. No swings at all..I am very disappointed. My toddler always want to go and play but I tell him it is not foe him. I do walk/run the trail.

Its a nice place to play sports

The park is nice all year round. The play-structure is fun for the kid and it has water sprinklers for the summer months. The paved pathway is a great walk with benches spaced along it for a rest. In the front there is usually a patrol car stationed near the restrooms, and an Icecream truck stops frequently in the summer.

Van Horn Park is where I met the love of my life 9yrs ago!! The park has basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer/baseball field, water sprinklers, kids swings, and a paved trail that goes around the whole park!! Its a great park!!

This place has a playground for kids to play on. It also has baseball fields, tennis courts and basketball courts, forrests and a big pond.

Its a nice paved path to walk on,some moderate hill area a lot of shaded areas the old Van Horn resivior is what you walk around a great place to walk or run and you can bike and bring your dog on a leash
