A peaceful spot where we practiced some kicks on day 60 of my tour across America to raise awareness to the mental health benefits of martial arts training

It is a small park among the cool and nostalgic signs at the start of Route 66. It is a worthwhile place if you are in the area and want to understand how the US developed before the interstate system was established. I hope this area continues to improve.

Very pretty idea- this is about 8 blocks from my office, I often eat lunch there. However, I must sit in my car because there arent any benches, picnic tables, playground equipment, etc.kind of a strange park- its like they started gung ho and then stopped. It has a lovely eye catching sign. Its quiet, despite being on a busy street, but the lack of facilities is puzzling.Unless you had your own food and place to sit, Im not sure why you would stop here.Anyway, I still like it be because of the neato sign, the curvy street going through it and because its given me many peaceful lunch hoursGrams gives this 4 out of 5 stars

Not much to it actually, there is a small park with a few parking spots unfortunately the birth place of route 66 apparently has lost its nostalgia

Love it hey there is firewood for sale right off of college between melvi s and route 66 rest stop basically! Remember to stay local with your purchases. Help the little guy, its almost Xmas I can only imagine how they or anybody may need the extra cash in exchange for you to stay warm with the wood they can provide you with all winter I would surely assume!

My soulmate and I did another extended weekend trip to his other place in Parker, AZ. He had been to Kingman before and wanted to take me there for the day. The pre-planner I am, I created a list of things to see and do, and the Powerhouse Visitor Center (formerly the Desert Power & Water Co., 1907-1911) was one of those. Inside, is where the Route 66 Museum stands. Im a hit or miss on museums. I usually prefer to go at my own pace, and not be led or lectured to. I realize many prefer that. This museum was on your own and for the admission price, it included an electric vehicle display at the end of the museum and the chance to use your admission ticket to visit other local landmarks.

This is one of the parks in my neighborhood. I often take my work breaks here. It is lovely in the Spring and Summer. In Autumn and Winter though, you can see the glaring field of trash left by the homeless camps. It is a real shame we cant get these people houses they can trash up, instead of one of Springfields tourist attractions. Its also a hub for vagrants, so if you happen to be a smoker, bring extra or be prepared to be told off for not giving away your cigs to the bums.

Park features a historic Giant Hamburg sign from a restaurant that used to be on Route 66 in Springfield, Missouri. There is also a modern Route 66 mural sign, a metal sculpture Route 66, flower and rain gardens. The Frolicking Mosaic Mural a mosaic tile mural on a low concrete wall is across the street. The mural is in fair to poor condition with light graffiti and some tiles missing. Not a place to spend the night. If you have children keep a close eye on them. Park has no facilities like restrooms, park benches or picnic tables. Behind the park is a steep hill leading to railroad tracks which I think are seldom used. The hill is grown up and looks like it had demolished concrete ruble along the top at the back of the park. An abandoned house boarded up is across the street. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy.
