There was spray paint all over the equipment and there were cops tending to a car accident where a person drove over some of the monuments while we were there. (Obviously that doesnt happen every day...i dont think...?) Minus those things, it was a nice park.

Folks dont feel safe there! Homeless people are all over you the minute you get there. We met there because you cant sit in a restaurant due to Covid19. My friends mother just passed away, so we came there to have a lunch under a shade tree and console our friend. The grass needed mowing, and there were spiders everywhere! It was unbelievable. If Springfield cant afford to mow the grass & clean that place up then let someone know! I will volunteer my time to get it clean.

Sold meth once. Pretty good. Sold it to Adam Berklacy. Did coke as well. My cousin got kidnapped once found him though. He was safe. Wasnt at this park felt the need to open up though. Im really in touch with my emotions. Love this park. Helps me release my stress and lets me beat up the children without getting arrested. 0/5 stars, the park wasnt big enough for my dragon. Wasnt on heroin at the time. Homeless people.

Nice little hidden park. Good shade. Cute gazebo. Nice kids area. Grills.Sometimes there are a lot of Commercial St people, but we had the whole park to ourselves thus time!

Its a shame that the homes around the park arent taken better care of. People should have more pride. Just dont care i suppose. The park its self is a wonderful place for the community to enjoy. Love the 4th of July event held in the park.

Clean park, most of the time. sometimes you get homeless around, but never been bothered by any. If you live in the area it is okay, but I wouldnt make any special trip to see it..Play area for young kids, maybe for about 3-10 yes old at most. Picnic tables, no grills, but no sign saying that you cannot bring your own.. very quit in morning. Squirrels, rabbits, birds..

Belleville MO where the movie Belleville was shot. My part was filmed in this Gazebo.

About 30 years ago I live directly across the street from this park and back then it was overrun with problems especially the druggies and criminals. But, it is now very well maintained, although there was small amounts of trash here and there on the ground, there were plenty of cans around so its obvious that the people that were there had not picked up after themselves... But, the playground equipment was almost brand new, tennis courts didnt look too terribly old, some very nice gazebos large enough forr a good-sized family to picnic in..

Its a basic neighborhood park. The playset is safe and fun for small children. Plenty of benches. As others have noted, the park is also a nighttime home to members of our community living rough. Ive taken my own child & other visiting children to the park for over a decade and never had a problem.

We never miss the old time 4th of July parade and festivities at Washington Park. There is a great sense of community and its its a very quaint neighborhood tucked into the north side of Springfield. The surrounding homes are well kept, and our kids love the playground equipment. The shade is very nice as well.

Is More peaceful than ever. and clean. A great place to take the kids on a picnic.... playground, basketball court and a sidewalk track for burning calories!!!!

The kids love this park. It was kinda hairy there for a little bit bc of all the junkie hobos. But now I think it has cleared up and become a truly happy place to make more memories again.

I reserve my opinions for another visit

This is the closest park to my house, but there are always tons of homeless people. I left almost immediately because there was a guy sitting in his car next to the playground parked facing the playground and it was just uncomfortable. There was also clothing sitting on the childrens slide. This was a fun park when I was a kid, but I probably wont take my daughter there again.

Park has new benches but some sketch stuff around a few places; cigarette butts everywhere, broken police tape wafted into the park, etc.

Beautiful scenic park in historic midtown. Used to be the town square when North Springfield was a separate city.

Its a nice little park for the kids. I wouldnt let your kids run free there. Its not as bad as people say though.

Very quiet and well maintained!

Live nearby, 3 shootings in sight of park this year, juvenile delinquents constantly dumping the garbage, tearing down hoop net.. that said, i have never had a problem during the day, but my friend had to pull his self defense weapon a year or so ago when 2 guys tried to mug jim for the pharmacy bag he was carrying home.

Its super sketchy. There are always homeless people. Ive found condoms on the ground and broken glass and stuff. 0/10 would recommend tbh. But the swings are okay.

Plenty of room to run and climb. Equipment could be a little newer but its safe and fun.

Kids had fun playing basketball, catching fireflies and swinging. One thing is the homeless people there after dark. This guy was rude and acted like my kids and us were walking trying to see what drugs he was doing or had. All because we walked by too close to the gazebo he was sitting under with some chick. Pisses me off

The only downside to this park is there is no restrooms

Good place to play

Unkempt, dirty, bad neighborhood. Lots of afterhours drug activity. Sad commentary on what used to be a clean, safe and well kept center city neighborhood. As with all living entities, neighborhoods are subject to decay and rot if neglected, and sadly Washington Park has been neglected.

Its the spot my lil girl grew up with. From block parties to just going and swinging on the swings. I never thought that when I moved here (spfd mo) it would grow so close to my heart. But thanks to places like Washington park Springfield has become home.
