This is a place right near the Lincoln tomb so if you are visiting the tomb swing by this place. This is someones connection that they are sharing with the public and wow it is a fantastic collection. It is free to enter but you can make a donation if you wish to. They had some cute cats running around and they just laid on the floor in front of me wanting to be pet. Some of the planes are open that you can sit in and take pictures. I will come here again thats for sure. This is on my list of places to see in Springfield if you are there... check it out. Any questions just ask!

While in the area to tour the Lincoln Monument, we saw the Air Combat Museum on the map and stopped by. What an interesting working museum! The young man, sorry I cant recall his name, was extremely knowledgable of the history and/or a story of each plane, and there are quite a few. A a mixture of aircraft-Mustang; one of the last, if not the last air worthy Corsair; a MIG, an acrobatic plane and several others. Thanks for keeping the history alive!

This is not handicapped accessible. My 9 year old son does not walk. He was super excited because he loves planes, but we could not move past the entrance due to wings blocking our path.

Great place to visit. Have some working WWII era planes (Corsair and Mustang). You don’t get to see these very often any more. Pieces of history! Where else could you sit in the cockpit of a MIG, hold on to the stick, and pull the canopy over your head? Staff was friendly, informative, and helpful. If you are into planes, this is well worth it.

It was alright, and free so cant complain too much- just wish it were in a bigger, easier to access place

Fun place for kids and adults. Friendly staff. You can even sit in a Mig 15 cockpit. Right next to the Illinois air national guard that had some planes on display.
