My friends and I did the 7pm house and walking tour. We loved it! Being able to go inside the Sorrel Weed house that has so much history and is haunted was intense! Just going for the architecture is worth it, but add in the stories and experiences you have a great way to feel a part of Savannahs unique history. The tour was not gimmicky at all. Very authentic- whether youre into the supernatural or not, youll enjoy this tour. I wish I could remember my guides name because she was great!
It was everything I could have imagined! I still cant believe we were part of the paranormal investigation. Our tour guide was great. I will definitely be back. We actually experienced a few paranormal things throughout our investigation.
We had a great time doing this tour! Our tour guide was extremely informative and really knew her stuff. Definitely worth doing, and all the proceeds go into fixing the house and continue with its upkeep, which makes it even more worth it for me since we need to conserve our history as much as possible.
We took the 8pm tour and had a great time. Our guide was Jamie (I hope Im spelling her name correctly). She was enthusiastic, informative and genuinely seemed to like her job. I definitely recommend the tour at night. I wont say what I experienced in the house because I dont want to ruin it for anyone but if youre on the fence about taking the tour, just do it!
We did the 9:00 ghost tour of the Sorrel Weed House and boy, was it spooky! Because of COVID, we only had four total on our tour (plus our guide) which made it even spookier. The tour includes going through the front doors, three rooms on the main floor, multiple rooms in the basement, the carriage house, and the square it sits on. Our guide was great and had an iPad to show us photos and videos that other guests had seen/experienced. The house definitely has a haunted feel to it and I would not want to be there alone!
Ill start with Devon. She was very courteous and polite over the phone.Alyssa/Alissa was our tour guide who was also very polite and professional and very informative. The house museum itself is very well preserved and beautiful.Id totally recommend!
We had a great time on the ghost house and walking tour! Alyssa was an excellent guide. This was our second trip to the Sorrel Weed House and it is definitely worth the trip. Highly recommend!
Had a very nice tour of the house and property. The guide was amazing. Had a bit of an experience in the carriage house and downstairs basement/prep area. Very interesting history. Well worth the money.
This was so totally cool! The staff are great at helping you and the history of the house its totally worth the money!!! I felt and heard some creepy stuff. So neat!
I did the night time ghost tour of the house and was one of the most authentic ghost tours I had been on in Savannah. The guide was great, the pacing was perfect, and the information was fascinating! Loved it and look forward to visiting again soon!
First, please know they are actively working on restoring the home. It is admittedly in poor shape but the staff were very knowledgeable about the history and architecture and were very nice. I truly hope they get it fully restored!
Great tour with a very interesting history and knowledgeable tour guides. You can tell the the guides really care about the house and the history and work hard to see the house restored. It cost us 10 bucks a head, lasts an hour, and we liked it so we i felt compelled to leave a tip at the end of the tour. It was our favorite little piece of history on our trip.
Absolutely loved the tour. I love history and the city of Savannah so I have wanted to see this home for quite some time. Super glad we finally got to experience it.
We did the paranormal investigation. The history and building itself is amazing! We did have a few encounters touching, feelings, and intelligent responses. I absolutely reccomend taking the opportunity to see for yourself. The money goes right back into the upkeep of the house. Beautiful and so much fun. Our guide was amazing, informative and just as excited as we were. Say Hi to Sam for me to ;)
They do really cool tours here and you can tell that everyone that works there genuinely cares about the house and its history. The late night ghost hunt is fun even if you are a non-believer.
I love the guided tour and and the paranormal investigation. The investigation is spooky but totally worth it if you want some real evidence and interaction.
Beautiful building. Sadly I did not see any ghosts on this visit
I love this kind of stuff. Every city I travel to I look up paranormal tours. I know its easy to let your mind play tricks on you when youre exploring these supposedly haunted locations, so I remind myself of that and I dont automatically assume anything I see, hear, or feel is paranormal. I did a night time tour of this place with my gf. Id say the group was a solid 20-25 people. I did not hear or see anything unusual, but theres something off about this place, and you notice the difference immediately when youre on the property versus outside of it. A group of girls left halfway through because they couldnt handle it, they were crying. I would not want to be alone in this place, the vibe and energy is very negative. I have no regrets doing the tour though, excellent guide who told explained the fascinating history of the place.Again I want to remind readers that I dont allow myself to be easily swayed by the stories and let my imagination run wild to freak me out. I did a night tour of another supposedly haunted location (The Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone) and felt nothing like I did at the Sorrel Weed House.
Loved hearing about all the history. Our tour guide was amazing. I think he name was Kayla.
Bradford from the Genteel and Bard walking ghost tour recommended the paranormal activity experience to us and it was well worth it!
Loved this tour! My daughter and I were fascinated with Savannahs history and really wanted to visit this house. The guide was awesome and we enjoyed it. A must do when visiting Savannah!
Most Groovy night tour. If you think its all fake, pleases go here. You will have an experience or someone with you will. Be watchful in the carriage house, she doesnt like us there..If you feel tingles or chills, or a shadow that shouldnt be there, just relax and be kind, they wont hurt you, just playing with you..The Best experience, the most Beautiful City.
Greet tour. Lots of fun. My teenager loved it!
The tour guide was very friendly and had plenty of historical info. It was great immersing ourselves in the house, really thinking about the life of those who lived there. We didnt stumble upon any ghosts ourselves that night, but there were certainly some spooky areas of the tour.
Great historical tour. No spirits were seen but the info shared was interesting.
Very knowledgeable tour guide. I like the ghost tour more for history, but there was a fin sense about the entire journey that gave a little edge to it.Remember, while you are taking pictures not to be crazy with it. Its just disrespectful to make a thing of beauty like this home with a tragic story just about seeing something that nobody else does. You will have fun no matter what!Hopefully, they restore the upper floors as I would like to see them also.
This is a must do!!! I felt something touching my ankle right off the bat!!! It was a tingling sensation Ive never felt before! Our tour guide was AMAZING! So friendly, personable and knowledgeable. I believe her name was Jamey! Another girl in my group captured an orb downstairs by the old wooden chair, this house has all the feels, it doesnt disappoint!
This house tour was amazing! It was my first ghost tour and graham was very knowledgeable and kept the tour very interactive. Did not feel awkward or as if he was reaching for facts. Graham was an absolute sweetheart and answered all questions. Recommend 10/10
Great visit! JP was kind enough to explain a lot of extra little things to my mother. Definitely worth the visit
Had an amazing tour. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the city
Really cool.. other than people bringing a TODDLER on the tour.. very rude.. baby talking and crying the entire tour. I went through photos and found this amazing shot. 1st pic and a second snap right after.. pretty clear of a face in the second pic. I felt very dizzy and almost could have passed out going up the stairs in the carriage house to Mollys room. Loved it. And would love to do the paranormal tour next time.
Awesome tour and experience. The house is extremely old and full of history. You dont have to believe in ghosts to have a good time. Suspend your belief and have an enjoyable time, my family of 6 sure did.
Great experience, loved to learn about the history behind it and also try and see/interact with some ghosts
Although this is a private museum in the process of completing additional restoration to the house, it is a well worth your time and money to visit. Friendly and knowledgeable staff full of personal stories that bring the history of the house to life. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide Alissa was amazing, there was a little activity in our tour but overall the experience wildly exceeded my expectations. The best ghost tour I have ever been on, I highly recommend if you find yourself in Savannah!
We did the paranormal investigation - wow!! Not overdone, no scare tactics, just simple history and equipment. Def hope to return.
We did the Haunted House and Walking tour, and it was sensational! Would do it again in a heart beat! It is definitely haunted and you learn so much history about Savannah and its founders.Photo #8 is a ghost!
This is an amazing place to visit. One of the most haunted places in Georgia. I had a very awesome tour guide. This place is the building in the opening scene of Forrest Gump as well.
I saw the lady in the black dress at the square 12:36 at night she was walking around when I was looking at the big church are tour guide was amazing but the lady in the black dress scares me im only 12 so I will show my pictures
Really cool story comes with this tour. Wish you could go upstairs to see bedrooms but still a great stop while in Savanah.
Good for a historical bit of fun. Didnt see any ghosts.
We did a tour tonight with Sara. She was wonderful. I saw an orb in the soldiers hallway (tried to her it on camera however, it wouldnt work at that moment). As we went into the medical room, my foot felt numb and I started getting a strong migraine. As soon as I left the room, my foot went back to normal and the migraine went completely away. Now, the carriage house..well, upon entering my chest felt heavy and when I got upstairs I became dizzy, sick to my stomach, and emotional.
We had a good tour guide. Very interesting.
Our guide Sara was informative and has a great personality. You could tell she truly loves the Mansion and what she does.
Loved the 1 hour paranormal tour of the house and carriage house. This was part of what my husband had planned for us to do on our Savannah leg of our honeymoon. It did not disappoint!!!! I only wish we had more time in Savannah to do the paranormal investigation as we had some weird experiences and pics.
The history alone is amazing to hear from the tour guide! Well worth the trip! If you like Ghost Adventures and/or you are a history enthusiast, you will love this place!
Great tour.for $10 per person! A wealth of knowledge about one of the barons of Savannah. A few stories if you ask.
This place was absolutely astounding! The staff was so nice and cool will definitely be returning for my next adventure!
Came for a day tour. It was only $10. The ghost tours are more, around $25-$29 I think. You can only see the carriage house, the basement, and the first floor. The above floors are still not open for tours. Lots history around this house. Both interesting and sad. If you want all the ghost stories, do the night tour. They dont really get into that too much during the day.
I am still a bit scared to sleep at night It was very interesting to hear the history of the house and about all the ghosts that are still live there. Didn’t catch anything special, but definitely had a very exciting time. We took a tour in the house with walking tour. And maybe it’s better just to take a house tour and then go to another walking tour so you can hear more stuff, but we didn’t have that much time, still was good. Unfortunately I forgot the name of our lady tour guide, but she was very nice and told us a lot of creepy stories.
Loved it. Went at around 12 pm during Covid. Only 4 of us on entire tour.
Very nice guides... short and sweet. Not completely restored yet.
Did the paranormal investigation. Very exciting
Interesting tour given by one of the family members. You can see where this place was once a palace. The family has been working to bring it back to its glory. They say its haunted but I never felt ghosts. Probably because it was too hot for the ghosts!
Take the tour. DON is super energetic and Mari are all a great tour guide. This was the most informative tour well worth the money and the house is amazing as well.
Great place to visit on the haunted trolley tour, which has exclusive access to the downstairs portion of the House.Neat place, lots of history and stories. The surgical room downstairs, where so many died from loss of limbs and general sickness, was filled with orbs and residuals. Great place to visit. Hannah gave a wonderful tour!!
We toured this haunted house with Old Savannah Tours company. The guide KB was awesome! However the tour itself was just okay, we only went into a few rooms after being told a magnificent horror story about the residents and overall the exploration was pretty disappointing. The house itself is pretty cool though and definitely holds more secrets than they let you find out.
The tour was based on faction. The upstairs are not toured at all. When I asked they said the upstairs were unsafe to tour. I think thats a vital fact that should have been included in the details of the tour. When I read the description it said 16000 square feet. We toured the first floor and the basement. The expected speech you can find from any older home in the south was delivered. Molly was very interesting. It was was $20 per person it should have been $10. It seems like in Savannah tours stay on the bottom floors. I wanted to see bed rooms and furniture and pictures that were important enough to hang in the bedrooms. I was not real impressed.
Love it, and the ghost tour by Kayla was awesome and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. One lady took a picture of her daughter and it had 4 other faces in it around her head. Weeks later I found a face in the pictures I took. Its a face between the guy and girl on the right. Lots of energy in this place that I could feel and smells like cigar smoke in one room and laundry soap smells in the basement. The energy in the slave quarters were to much for me to stay in the room.
We did the historical tour instead of the haunted tour. There are some interesting facts and you van actually see some old hand made items that are no longer made.
I was very focused on the history of the house & felt a very cold breeze next to my left arm while in the basement! Awesome Experience!!
Loved the ghost tour. I think I caught an Orb in a picture I took. Next time I am doing the lock in!
Ghost tour at night was not scary and stories were average. Did not feel it was worth the money...
Such a great tour with an amazing guide! Didnt get to see anything paranormal but got some creepy vibes and a great history lesson!
The tour was informative. The amount of details used were just enough to create the perfect level of suspense. Will most certainly be returning to experience the lock-in. My daughters 16th birthday was wonderful, and these guys helped make it even better.
Great tour and great person giving the tour heard and saw some strange things. Must do!
Great for ghost tours if youre brave enough. Definitely a really spooky vibe and perfect place for anyone looking to actually experience something
Great tour! Loved the home, history, and guide was very nice. Got a image with a face in the window when taking pictures. See if you can make it out. You can find it in the pictures
The ghost tour here was great. I tried to post a video I took of a supposed orb (if you believe in that sort of thing) going across my screen but the review wont allow video so I put 4 screen grabs showing it in different positions. The guide was interesting and informative. Highly recommend when in Savannah.
I went a few years ago, as the EMF meter didnt go off at all when they gave my mom and I one. I dis use my old phone and use the infrared camera. Unfortunately at the time I didnt know about leaving reviews and posting the photos. And I no longer have the phone but I have the photos on a lap top somewhere which I will eventually upload. But they told the story wrong about the maid. This place is haunted. But Im not going to get into it in detail. But I have read some of the bad reviews. If the owners sees this yall may want to get a new tour guide and tell the true story of the maid, the wife, and the affairs that went on. If you dont know you can always message me and ask. Ill upload photos on a later date when I get on the old lap top of my moms that has the photos.
This tour is a must do when visiting Savannah! If you love historic stories or ghost stories, you will find this tour very informative and interesting. Our tour guide, Kaitlynn, was knowledgeable, engaging, and just a delightful gal that is clearly passionate about her job. She was sure to listen to any questions from the group and made us feel comfortable throughout the tour.
Beautiful home, lots of history, great tour guide. Didnt see or feel anything, but was a great experience.
Went for a ghost tour and still got plenty of historical context. Beautiful home. Lovely staff.
Every other ghost tour in town talks about this house and after going in, I can definitely see why. Super creepy & so many stories! I did the house + walking tour and definitely recommend spending the extra $8 for the walking tour. Savannah has a lot of creepiness to offer.Dakota was our guide and he was amazing! Full of information, great at building the spooky atmosphere without being cheesy, happy to answer questions, and he was definitely enthusiastic about the house and its ghosts. If possible I recommend asking for him!
We had an excellent time learning the history of the house and the people who have lived in it as well as immersing ourselves into the aura that the house emits. Highly recommend, if your guide is anything like ours then youre in for a wild ride and a fun time!
This was an interesting historic/haunted house to visit in Savannah. We really enjoyed the tour and felt we learned more about Savannah history and enjoyed the classic beauty of the house
Great Historical House, Lots of History some not so Good. But A great piece of Savannah History
Loved my experience here! Did an hour and a half long tour with Janey and she was amazing!
2nd time here! Staff is amazing and lots of activity!
I’ve been to this tour twice now. Yep, twice. Both times I was impressed and both times I’d happily go again. 10/10 definitely recommend
Had alot of fun, learned alot of history... great job Dakota we had alot of fun!!
Good tour of house with knowledgeable guide
So much history in this place. Wasnt able to do the haunted night tour, but the day tour was great and very educational. Cant believe this place is haunted and even featured in ghost hunters.
Absolutely amazing home/museum here. History tours match what books say. Beautiful facility which definitely has some vibes of its past residents. We went two weekends in a row; once for the day tour and again for the evening ghost tour in the home. After doing the day tour with no ghostly information given, just our senses we asked several times about more detailed history that would cause these feelings, smells, and emotions. Those were again reconfirmed with stories on the following tour and present guide. If you are in touch with that part of your brain then you need to experience this home.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had a great time!
It was totally awesome.
Very interesting historical place!
Wonderful tour guide (JP) at a beautiful, historic building! This home has a story to tell and I cant wait for the restorations to continue!
Great place to gather with family and friends.
My friends and I decided to take the house tour which was not scary at all. I was interested in this tour thanks to Shane and Ryan in Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural. In the episode, they heard footsteps upstairs and possibly saw a figure. I heard and saw no such thing. Perhaps I need to take the Paranormal Tour the next time I’m in town. Overall, it was a nice house tour.
Spooky spooky house, and a great tour. Graham took us through the house and told us all about the family and slaves that once lived there. Definitely a great thing to do in Savannah. Graham was great, and very informative. If you book make sure you bring a clean pair of pants!
We took our Girl Scout troop here in June 19. This was a major highlight of our trip to Savannah. Anna (I dont know if thats how she spells her name) was amazing. The best guide we had while in the city. The house is gorgeous and creepy and it did not disappoint. The best part was when Anna took us on the walking ghost tour to the cemetery and other presumably haunted landmarks, and a huge thunderstorm broke out right over us. Talk about ambience!
So interesting. The ghost tour was great
Best historical haunted. Youre inside of a home and can feel spirits.
Very interesting tour. You learn a lot about the history of the house and the area. A lot about the architecture of the home and the owners history as well.
The Sorrel Weed House is big, beautiful, and full of tragic history. We did a late night ghost tour of the mansion and the carriage and it was great. Our tour guide was Jovi and he was awesome. He told us so much about the history of the house and all of the tragedies that occurred there. I highly recommend him. As for the house itself, as soon as we walked into the house the energy was electrifying. It felt like consistent waves of static shock. The basement. Super creepy and thats where I experienced my hair being moved and a severe sense of vertigo. I didnt notice it at first but I was rocking back and forth. When someone pointed that out, I felt like if i stopped I would fall over. Other people felt it too so that made me feel like less of a nutso. Lolol. The carriage house was also amazing. This is the part of the tour where most of us were overcome with sadness. Mollys room was so overwhelming someone started to cry. If you are into all things paranormal I highly recommend that you visit this place.
