What a cool piece of history! Recommended to go visit the iconic Tunnel of Trees on our vacay we had no idea what to expect. The short drive through the trees was magical and then we parked and got to follow the map to historic sights spread out throughout on foot. Lots of cool facts listed on the grounds as well...when they are able to have the colonial life active that has got be to totally awesome!
The drive in is gorgeous. The museum/ gift shop within the visitor center had a few interesting pieces. The walk to the ruins isn’t far. It overlooks the salt marshal. The burial ground was just a single memorial. The original plantation home is a private property. No drone flying on the property according to park staff. They said they share air space with the Air Force.
Loved walking the grounds here! It was peaceful and beautiful. We followed the self guided tour and read on all the historic spots. We enjoyed it. There are plenty of benches that you can rest at if needed as well.
$10 dollar per adults. Open from 9 to 5pm. Cant take pictures without paying. Arrived early because the entrance its major attractions for pictures and waiting for people to take their pictures can add up. Recommended to do it with your guide to soak up the history and education value of this place. It take about 90 minutes to complete if done by yourself.
Exceptional historic site. Great walk about loop trail. Much to see. Good story boards.. The Tree lined tunnel drive is very cool.
The live oak trees are beautiful specially near the entrance. Apart from that, there is not much to see.It cost $10 plus tax for adult. It’s worth maybe $7.
This is one of my favorite places in Savannah. It is so beautiful and a great little place to visit. It offers lots of opportunities for photos, walking, and learning about history. I go here every time I come to this part of Georgia!
This is one of the most beautiful places we visited in Savannah! The entry mile long drive lind with Oak trees and draped in Spanish moss was about the most beautiful thing Ive ever seen.Gorgeous grounds in an amazing historical setting.Definitely worth the trip!!
A must visit place if youre in Savannah. Take the pine trail, enjoy the view of the salt marsh. The historic sites. Enjoy with the company of your loved ones.
Loved this place. Visited last week when the weather was in the 60s, so strolling through the forest was bliss. The historic tabby fort was interesting, and the historical sections of Noble Jones estate was pretty fascinating if you’re into history. The main entry way with the overhanging trees was worth the visit alone.
A very interesting place to visit (especially for someone coming from the north). Staff was friendly. You pay for tickets outside and then drive to a parking area. I felt that there was no staff available there to help navigate the path.
This place is awesome. The live oak entrance alone is worth the admission. The view over the narrows is pretty cool too. There are a couple of other short trails to see as well
The gate was closed, but from what I saw it was incredible, unique, and magnificent. The trees are just fascinating. Everything’s so old, it was amazing to be there.
Kinda pricey if youre not doing the trail.Very cool to see all the historical information and read about the flora and fauna around us!
My first experience and I was not disappointed. Friendly and informative staff, the musket demonstration was wonderful.
Decent spot to walk around the woods. You have to pay before you enter and it costs $10 per adult. The drive in was tree lined and beautiful, but that was the nicest part. The paths go through the woods and there are some ruins to see along the way. Make sure it’s a cool day otherwise it can get tiring to walk around, even in the shade. Overall it was fine but not really a must see in the area.
Beautiful, but I dont like that closing time is early. There is no opportunity for visitors from other cities to have the opportunity to appreciate everything that is inside. A giant stop sign is in the middle of the entrance, you have to do a good photoshop if you dont want that sign on your photo.
So disappointed! We made a detour on our road trip specifically to stop by this place and take pictures of the beautifully arched trees and Spanish moss but we were not allowed to unless we paid a $10 each admission fee!!!! We did not want to do the tour, we did not want to drive through, only to take a couple pics of the trees. Such a shame that they can take advantage of a beautiful naturally occurring location and monetize it. Real shame
The entrance is gorgeous. The living quarters are pretty cool too.
Security team is pretty rude, we have visited the place and wanted to take some pictures on the exit gate and security gave us big trouble since it is 5.01pm and they close at 5pm, eventhough i showed them plenty of cars still comes toward exit so they are in process to close.I kindly explained i will take couple picture of my 1 years old but he was saying he does not even have conversation with me, we can not give him responses, it was pretty pitty to behaved like this after such a nice visit
STUNNING! CAPTIVATING! Very romantic place that offers amazing photo ops. Clean, maintained and friendly staff. You could spend minutes or you could spend hours here. Depends on what youre after. Theres nice paths to walk. Recommend going early. We did and had plenty of times where no one else was on the road in the pictures. Ive been looking for this place for years after seeing it online. Very satisfied with the upkeep and entire place in general.
What we got to see was gorgeous, but that was only the entrance. We pulled through the gate and got out of the car after a 7 hour drive and stretched our legs and asked the gate keeper what the park had to offer. We were looking around the entrance, taking photos, and on our way to get tickets when the gate keeper told us we needed to hurry and get a ticket or we couldnt take photos anywhere and that parking was only 5 minutes and we needed to move. We were there long enough to walk a few feet, take a photo of the trees at the entrance, and grab a drink, so needless to say we moved. Back out the way we came.
It takes you back to the 18th century history !
Really beautiful place to visit. Lots of history and amazing in the woods feeling. Few historic areas to go and visit and a really old grave is there as well.I liked seeing some of the old stuff but honestly enjoyed walking through the area (weather was AMAZING) mostly. Will also say, if you get there at 4pm (they Normally close at 5pm), theyre nice enough to let you come back the next day without having to pay extra. Also if, by the time you are ready to leave, the place is closed - the doors are automatic and will open if you drive close. JUST BE CAREFUL CAUSE THE DOORS OPEN TOWARDS your car on the way out. So dont be too close to the gate
$10 per person is the entry fees. It could’ve been less. May be $10 per car instead of per person.Worth looking at those beautiful tree arches as long as you can! There is a 1 mile hike if you like to go on a hike. Visiting center has a museum, restroom and gift shop. You’ve to go by car for a mile to reach the visiting center and the hike trial.
Beautiful place!! Wear sneakers and roam around. Its a great place just to enjoy some history, see some beautiful grounds and be glad it hasnt changed much since it was settled.
We drove over early just to get a shot of the tree lined avenue. Just a picture. They stop you at the entrance and make you pay $10 a person just to do that. I guess they dont have much more to offer and know people are going just to get that shot and are willing to pay it. Not impossible to get free. I managed one and it didnt cost me a penny . I just cant figure out how to share it, sorry.
The trees .. make the trip. The chocolate milk bubbles in the marsh make it fun. Lol!
Wormsloes historic park was very cool. Being greeted by the tree tunnel with all the Spanish moss was almost worth the trip on its own. The rest of the area they have available makes for a really nice walk
10 a person walk through the woods. Its a picturesque walk. But there was nothing to really see. Just my opinion.
Beauty of the trees is 5 star. Not much of an experience beyond that. Still, worth seeing.
Wag on over to wormsloe and go for walkies !! A hip and happening historic site with lots of picturesque oak and hanging moss.Social distancing edu-fun-ment with some exercise thatll bamboozel you.We met some really cool dogs as the site is very pet friendly, so bring your kids.
$30 for our family of four to drive through and explore the small history museum and grounds. Wear your walking shoes and I would suggest some bug spray...We only had a little over an hour to get to through it, but I would give yourself at least 2 to walk the entire thing.
Wormsloe was absolutely stunning! The atmosphere was nice and calming. Keep an eye out for the little crabs by the salt marshes! They are so cute! Lol the gift shop prices were fair and of course oak avenue was stunning. Admission is fairly priced as well.
Very nice warm historic site. We loved the professionalism of the staff and the great job of preservation they have done.
Beautiful place. Loved walking the grounds and hearing the history. Must see in Savannah!
Great history, pet friendly. Nice trails that have tons of history. Trails are pretty smooth to allow some wheelchairs
Very very cool. Even my 4 yr old enjoyed walking around and learning all the history while using the map. Worth the money. Pretty muddy in March. Self guided tour was great as it provided us with plenty of time to take photos along the way.
What a magical place! Definitely a must see when in Savanah.
Learned a lot about Savannahs history by having a scavenger hunt on Halloween. It was a ton of fun!! Would highly recommend this.
Amazing you can take beautiful pictures here and walk the trails and enjoy the property . Wear comfy closed toed shoes for trails.
Trees are pretty but not worth it. I can see a bunch of beautiful spanish moss trees for free in Georgia..
Its really beautiful but the entry isnt free. Honestly, you can just drive around and find similar live oaks by the road.
What an incredible treasure!! The driveway alone beneath the canopy of the remarkable trees is breathtaking. The staff at the visitors center was cheerful, friendly & helpful- to top it off, they are super dog friendly (just keep them on leash). The trails were even more than we anticipated. We were happy to pay the $10/person entrance fee to spend the day in such a lovely place.
Too price. Beautiful entrance. Good for hiking.
This was such an amazing experience with my family! Beautiful site and breathtaking views. Employees are very friendly. This is the place to take beautiful pictures. The walk is so peaceful! This is a must visit place when you are in Savannah, GA!
I shoot proposals, engagements and weddings at Wormsloe Historic Site often and the grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly. If youre visiting Savannah this should definitely be on your list of places to explore.
This historic site was so lovely! It’s 1.25 miles of these beautiful trees that grew together and then several trails that lead you to the original house and some other landmarks around the house! I thoroughly enjoyed this place and it’s beauty!
Brilliant part of Savannahs history and natural beauty! Worthwhile visiting the museum to learn more about the story of Wormsloe. It gave us a better appreciation for how Savannah was discovered by the early settlers and eventually developed into the beautiful city it is today. (Note: $10 entry per person)
Awesome, beautiful must see wormsloe in Savannah Georgia...
This is a great historical site to visit. The best time is during the Christmas season when Wormsloe has a colonial reenactment. It is VERY detailed! There was even candle making for the children. My grandson really enjoyed that and helping Colonial Santa pull in the Yule Log for the fire. To our delight several reenactors demonstrated the latest version of colonial ballroom dancing to live period music. It is a bit of a walk to get back to the historical site, so be prepared for a hike and be sure to have the proper footwear. If it has rained anytime recently prior to your visit, it WILL be muddy.
We were looking for something to do outside of the city while visiting Savannah. Glad we made it here. It is only a couple of minutes outside of Savannah and very easy to get to. The whole place is beautiful with miles of trails to explore! Check out the little museum for a neat video and some artifacts. We had a great time walking the trails and looking at the different items. The prices really arent bad at all. And of course the entrance is beautiful as well! Definitely recommend.
Beautiful driveway and interesting museum on the history and context of the region. Trails are great for a small hike.
The beautiful gateway is absolutely breathtaking! Seeing all the families taking photos is so heartwarming. The drive wasn’t bad. It felt like I was living in a different world. The tours are by foot, by they aren’t too long and are pretty accessible for most people. Really hope to come back soon!
This is a must when visiting Savannah. The tree-lined drive is incredible. An excellent spot for taking photos. The trails around the old home site are beautiful and make for a great stroll through the woods with views of the marshland.
This was a really great side trip. The sites werent as preserved and well kept as you would expect but still worth the visit. There was very little information about the slaves that lived there and the property that the family descendants still occupy, so more of that wouldve been nice.
Its a great place to stop on your tour through Savannah.
Oh, the beauty of the road into the estate. The overhanging trees made for a spectacular backdrop. The grounds are delightful, and the history interesting. We got some helpful info at the visitor’s center and was able to follow the trails with the signs provided. The ruins aren’t much to see, but go for the scenery.
Must see in Savannah! The Spanish Moss Trees over the road are so enchanting and beautiful! The staff here is AMAZING and so friendly and kind. The walk is absolutely gorgeous and the kids loved exploring the Colonial buildings and sites! We saw a snake, lizards and caterpillars. Wonderful place! Highlight in Savannah for sure.
Gorgeous but go in the morning because the heat will knock you on your butt.
This makes for a nice day out, its a beautiful road to drive through and an interesting place with much history attached to it, you xan take walks around it and visit a really small museum, but be aware there is not much else to do there.
Awwwww, the history. Beautiful scenery. The story telling was fabulous. I would have like a little more of the African experience and a deeper understanding of the unpopular perspective.I love the area. This plantation (still a working one) is amazing. The tractor tour is GREAT!
The scenery is cool. The landscape looks like something you would see in Narnia or another fictional place. There are several ruins and historic sites in the area. There are good cabins if you want to spend the night there.
This was by far the most beautiful thing Ive seen in my life. Such a quiet and serene place. Watch out for alligators!!Incredible for photography. So, bring your SLR if you have one.
Just ok... This place was just ok. I definitely could have saved the $10 per person on this. The best thing about this place was the 1mile view of trees as you enter. After that it was very underwhelming. They essentially take your money, give you a map and send you on your way. There were no staff on the trail to tell you anything or assist with questions as needed. Very underwhelming and overpriced for what it is.
Worth the cost of admission just to see the trees alone..gorgeous!
If youre interested in the founding of Savannah you must start here. Gates open at 9:00 AM and its worth it to be the first in line. It allows for some amazing pictures without a crowd of people in the background. Pay at the cottage immediately through the gate then enjoy the drive down the tree lined driveway.
Enjoyed my time there and would enjoy going back to let the dogs view the scenery and walk the paths
Bring your walking shoes, beautiful area.
Beautiful. Had a good time with the kids following clues to find historical skeleton markers.
This is a treat! A break from the norm. Trails were well maintained. Grounds are beautiful. Ruins and points of interest are well done. Price is very fair.
Had so much fun with the family here. They do scavenger hunts.
Great scenery and historical site!
Just ok dont waste your money unless you feel like a short hike in the woods.
The oak lane is spectacular and a must see. Cost was $10 per adult plus tax. Definitely go in the tour or the ruins and adjoining area aren’t the most memorable. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and made the experience great. Know that is is just remains of a structure not an actual house as we were expecting.
Its a beautiful place with beautiful Live oak trees and its big enough to walk around in. There are some historic sites and a mini museum. We had a wonderful time here.
Really tranquil setting, the entire mile long driveway is completely covered by trees. The original house is no longer there, only ruins, but they do offer free walking tours of the surrounding plantation. Theres also a 2.5 mile long trail you can take that leads you thru more historic sites when the walking tour ends, so you can either go right back to the start or take the trail on your own.The gift shop is nothing special but you can find a souvenir trinket to remember your trip.
So much more to this beautiful site than just the infamous trees- well groomed and all the workers were so beyond kind. So much more than I imagined it would be!
Nice area for nature viewing. There isnt a plantation mansion, if thats what youre in search of. More realism, ruins of a small house and beautiful nature surrounding.
Very pretty and super dog friendly. Nice walking trails. My only complaint is the price for admission. $10/person seems pretty steep for what little there is to do.
We went on the Wormsloe Plantation tour with Grayline tours. Dennis was a fantastic tour guide. His personality and knowledge made the tour completely enjoyable. I highly recommend the tour.
Absolutely breathtaking grounds. The line of oaks and trails through the woods makes you appreciate nature’s beauty. We took the guided tour and greatly appreciated it, our guide was amazing. What an amazing experience!
Very cool place. The drive in through the Oak hammock is worth the price of admission alone. Definitely worth the short drive from downtown Savannah.
Great walking trails and nice to see someone who gives a discount to a disabled Vet
Definitely worth the drive for the history and beauty
Loved it! I was so happy to finally get the chance to visit the beautiful Oak Avenue!
No live events going on when we went, but the few sites that are here are still cool. If you are in the area, its a neat place to visit. The 1.5 mile driveway with trees was the highlight.
The woman in the golf cart at the beginning was very rude, yelling at us as soon as we got out of our car before we even got a chance to buy our tickets. We ended up just leaving and not buying a ticket. So beautiful but she definitely ruined it.
Great and amazing place for stunning photos on ANY occasion. So relaxing and peaceful. And there are guided tours for those who want to learn a bit.
There is a reason why this place is a top engagement photo site in Savannah. It is beautiful! Enjoy the walk around the property. Soak in Savannah history. Take some breathtaking photos.
Beautiful place. It was my first time going even though I live close by, I thought it was a little pricey, $10 per adult, all dogs must be leashed. There is a walking trail, there is also Geocaching here! I didnt go inside any of the buildings because I took my dog. There were about 20 different groups set up going down the road taking portraits and people taking family pics everywhere, little awkward. Very nice walking spot.
This place is a must see outside Savannah! Absolutely gorgeous!
$10/person. Beautiful entrance and long live oak lined drive. Needs to be preserved for its historical importance, but unless you are just interested in a lovely walk in the woods, not much to see. Good video on Noble Jones contributions to the founding of Savannah and Georgia.
This is a beautiful and peaceful place. If you are ever in the area I had to recommend stopping by. There is no cost for entry.
Really cool and super relaxing place! The trees are absolutely gorgeous. the trails are easy and scenic. It was so amazing walking through so much history too! We paid $10/person to walk through the entire place, which took a couple hours. We brought our dog and it was very enjoyable for him too!
Beautiful entrance with Spanish Moss on the trees.
First time to the site, but not fully explored... made for a great hike with the family. I look forward to seeing more of the site.
Great walking trails and preservation of unique historical sites.
