I just wanted to thank you again for all that you did to make the wedding so special! The food was absolutely delicious! We received many compliments on the food and the ice cream buffet. The setting was beautiful and the lights really added the finishing touch. Thank you again for comping the rental cost for the lights ;) And the service was exceptional. Everyone at the Dana was kind and helpful. We cannot thank you enough for significantly lowering the food and beverage minimum so that we could have the wedding at your hotel. It was truly a wedding to remember and much of that is because of your help and generosity. It was a pleasure working with you!

Cute hotel. Basic rooms that smelled heavily of mildew and pool steam but the salt water pool was very nice. 2 stars since my necklace fell of me in the pool and was stolen immediately by a man also in the pool and the hotel refused to do ANYTHING to help me get it from him when he left with it right in front of me. Also their outdoor evening yoga was so loud I could hear it in the shower with all the doors and windows closed. So much for a quiet night and a movie. I did appreciate they HAD yoga classes though.

Pics online from Expedia make this place look alot better than what it really is. Very old school vibe to it, that may be attractive to others, but not to my liking. Its like an above average motel. Staff is very friendly, and that isnt my issue.Once my family and I checked in, we got to our room, and it smelled very badly of cigarette smoke. As if someone just finished smoking in our room. The property is listed as non smoking, so not sure why it smelled like that, but it was so bad that I had to ask for another room for the sake of my kids. Then, our new room (a few rooms down, same building and floor), had ants in it. All around the bathroom sink, and toilet/bathtub. Not a great experience, but had no time to try to stay somewhere else, as we had activities planned for the weekend. We chose this location due to the fact that we had rented some boats to take the kids out on, and this place was right on the water. With growing concern over Covid 19, and cleanliness being a big focus, I would not recommend this place as one that a family would feel comfortable, or have peace of mind that cleanliness is a top priority. I do not have plans to stay here again.I know everyones experiences are different, just sharing mine.

Have stayed here twice. The first time was the best. Had a balcony that faced the Bay. The second time, had a room facing the parking lot. The first time I had made a reservation a day ahead of stay. The second time was a spur of the moment trip, so took whatever room was available. Rooms were clean and friendly staff. Hotel is close to Mission Beach. I will be staying there again (if they have a room with a view other than the parking lot)

This place is a gem on a marina on Mission Bay. I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life and had never been there. It’s the perfect place for a staycation. It is such a relaxing spot with lots of rooms with water views, a big grassy area, walking paths, pools, and a good restaurant. You really feel like you are on vacation when you stay here since it has such a good vibe and is low key. It is close to Seaworld, Downtown, La Jolla but it feels far away from all the activity.

Choosing The Dana on Mission Bay for our wedding was the absolute best decision we could have made. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and affordable, compared to other Southern California locations. Christina is phenomenal and basically acts as your own personal coordinator (even though a day of coordinator is required, which is totally worth it, FYI!). The venue grounds are so beautiful and they only hold 1 wedding at a time, therefore, you have access to the entire venue for your wedding for pictures, etc. You can seriously not go wrong choosing this location for your dream day! I wish I could go back and do it all over again!

Amazing location and decent price (I think its only because of COVID). The facilities are great and they were aware of social distancing which made me happy. We booked a trip in May when states opened up and unfortunately couldnt cancel plans through another site. We were able to find a second room close to the apartment we rented. I actually went to the website as their rates were a lot better than other sites. The room were nice and the bed was great. The bathroom floor could have been a little cleaner but all in all I was satisfied. I absolutely loved the kids pool and movies.I will come again when the pandemic is over, my only hope is the price wont double.

Rooms ok. Pool no restrooms so have to go to room every time. Ice machines broke and vending machines empty. All the restaurant food was so salty we couldnt eat. What got me most is they never told me Id get charged $35 a day resort fee plus a $25 parking fee. Ended up being $1,000 for 3 days and this was for a normal non kitchen room. So many other places to stay!!

Location is great, but they use that to nickel & dime you to death.Like I told the kid who checked me in, it makes it very hard to feel bad for them.A $32 resort fee/day plus $25/day to park is outrageous. And there is nothing worse than checking out - only to find that they overcharged you in the first place.I will give them props for quickly correcting the bill once I called them out, but come on.I shouldnt have to call them out.It feels like a desperate & lame move to make as much money as they can while they are trying to entice folks to stay with them during covid.Be very, very careful if you stay here & review your final bill like a hawk. There are other great hotels in this same area, so do some research before you book.

The area we stayed in could be updated somewhat. We paid a resort fee for various amenities. Unfortunately not all lived up to the advertising partly because we came during off season.. The locations Firefly Restaurant was good food (especially the Brunch) and the location overlooking both the pool and the Marina was attractive. The location was great with all the tourist attractions within a short drive. I think it would be a great place to bring the kids during the season, but off-season of questionable value. I would rate it 3 1/2 stars.

Super disappointed in the service. I heard this would be a safe place to stay and considering the history of this being a family owned resort for 50 years, I expected a little more cooperation with certain requests. We came in at 11 pm and paid for 2 rooms. My wife went to take a bath (she is a blonde) and there was all kinds of long brown hair in the tub. Seeing that this is Covid season, I felt as though this was completely unacceptable. We tried to get the bath cleaned up and sanitized but it was now past midnight at that point and we had another room adjoined with a clean bathroom so we let it go and tried to stay as safe as possible. Needless to say, we stayed up later than usual and asked for an hour of grace in the morning for a late check out and (with hardly any cars in the parking lot) the manager told us that he has reached his limit of late checkouts. I even offered to pay for a couple of hours and/or book the rooms again (pending a deep clean) with the advertised buy one night get the second half off but was unsuccessful as we had apparently already received that discount. The host at the front desk when we checked in was very welcoming but upon checkout the new concierge did not seem to care about his guests satisfaction. I hope all stay healthy and have a better experience than I if you choose to stay.

We had a good time. My daughter enjoyed the 2 pools and the dive in movie in the pool was really really cool. The sanitation procedure left much to be desired though. Tables not wiped down between guests. The feed was overpriced for what it was though i will say the fried brussels sprouts were well worth it...very good. The room we had this time had a bay view which was awesome and the room was very spacious, nice patio & view. The room service food was NOT good, but Luigis At The Beach delivers. The bayside pool & spa is very nice but the towels were very small, more like a workout room towel. The location is key, very close to all the attractions we were interested in seeing. The Dana is by far one of my favorite stays. For the price, the location is awesome to the local beaches, restaurants and fun activities. The views from my room were amazing and check in was hassle free due to the hospitality and professionalism given by their resort staffer, Katy C. From the moment I entered the lobby, Katy greeted me with a smile. I asked if I could be placed in a room with a great view. She accommodated me with a room with a balcony overlooking the bay. The rooms were clean, spacious and full of amenities one would expect. Katy provided me with other complimentary items that you will just have to visit the Dana to find out what they are!
