Wow what fantastic service we have had so far. Our flight was canceled and we need to find another place to stay for the night. Not only were they fantastic to help us on the phone but they let us check in early for no extra charge. (We had no where to go) when we got here they were just fantastic and fast at check in. Our room is amazing. Will be staying here everytime we come to San Diego. Again I cant say how wonderful we were treated and how much we appreciate everything. Thanks again
Best experience I have ever had with a resort. Pool is amazing, has great seating area and view around it. Pretty balconies. Overall great resort and place to stay with a family or just a couple.
Stayed for 4 nights. Had a waterfront/bayfront studio with a personal firepit, and a few steps away from the sandy beach and a beautiful view day or night (see pics). The room was well kept and included all the basic amenities including complimentary coffee, water bottle etc. The bathroom was clean and spacious and was stocked with multiple towels of various sizes. The staff was professional and was available to answer questions/concerns promptly. Room Service was not available due to COVID, however, Guest Services or the front desk staff were there to assist.Besides the hotel, they also had a restaurant which was in full operation, we dined in almost everyday. The dinner was Ok w/ crab cakes being the highlight, the breakfast was well worth it.There was also a boat/jetski/tandem bike rental with reasonable prices by the hour. Since this was part of the hotel, you can charge it to the room and pay later if you wish. We tried the speed boat and the tandem bike. Will most definitely go back to San Diego Mission Bay Resort.
Amazing. Room is really clean. I have a 3 yr old daughter and this resort is kid friendly. Wonderful staff and customer service is fantastic. My family and I are enjoying our stay here. Highly recommended.
We chose to stay here because of the hotel’s “clean and safe policy.” Upon arriving, I was directed to the checkin desk by an employee with his nose sticking out above his mask. There was a visible layer of dust and cobwebs throughout our room. I wiped everything down with a Clorox wipe and tried to make the best of it. However, when getting our 6 year old ready for her bath, the “clean” towel had a nasty brown stain running down the middle. We were appalled and went to the front desk to settle the matter. The employee was grossly undertrained and didn’t know what to do. We settled for him taking our number so his manager could call us at 8am and he sent us replacement towels. These towels arrived dirty and unacceptable. At this point, we packed our things and left. After several back and forth messages between us and hotel staff, the manager called us several hours later than promised and ensured us a refund. We were refunded our 1 night stay and then incorrectly charged for 2 nights. We called and sent several emails and are still waiting for the hotel to resolve the issue.
I had a horrible experience here. When we first arrived, our room was dusty and had cobwebs in most corners. We figured it was ok it meant no one had been in the room recently. The following morning while giving my 6 year old a shower, I reached for a “clean towel” and found it was covered in brown stains. I don’t know if this was blood, feces, etc.I showed this to the front desk and asked about their cleaning procedures. The gentleman, Josh, said he did not know because he was new. I would of thought that a hotel which talks about the cleanliness on their home page would of addressed this in training. He told me the manager Amanda would be in at 8 and would call me first thing when she arrived.I asked for new towels and asked that they were inspected before delivering. We received new towels and they also had stains. At that moment we packed up and left.I exchanged several messages with the cleaning staff and concierge and several hours later, received a call from Amanda. She ran the usual customer service speech and said they would refund my stay. I did receive a refund for 1 night and was promptly charged for two nights. We have a follow up email to the GM, Douglas Rucker, to finally get this resolved but unfortunately I have not received my refund as promised. This hotel has failed at each point of the recovery process and continues to make the experience worst.
My husband and I came to SD Mission Bay Resort for the weekend to celebrate his birthday and the hotel staff made his stay so special! The property is beautiful and the rooms are lovely and modern. The resort took safety precautions to not enter into our space while also making sure we had everything we needed. Contactless concierge service via text message was my favorite part, and we used it all weekend. Arcelio, Amanda and Gordie were professional, kind and helpful. We will definitely be coming back!
I came here about two months ago to preview San Diego before I moved. I saved up a lot of money to be able to afford a nice room and enjoy the pool only to find out it is closed (it is open now if you’re wondering). I expressed my concerns to the staff and not only did they address it- they made my entire vacation. I got a beach front upgrade and was able to visit their other location which had multiple pools. I was also given a free breakfast at a beautiful restaurant near the zoo. What an experience. Definitely would recommend and talk to the staff- they’re amazing!
Was here for a wedding for my nephew on 10/10/20. Everyone was on the grounds facing the water. Beautiful!! The reason for 4 stars is the people had continued to walk past the backdrop. The hotel should use a standing backdrop that cant be seen by the wedding guest or bride and groom. Or, better yet have a barrier there that stops them completely.
I travel to CA several times a year for work, and I typically stay at either the Westin or the W. However, on my most recent trip, my group stayed at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort... And while Ive stayed at other Joie de Vivre properties plenty of times, this was my first stay at GPH, so I didnt know what to expect. Lucky for me, it was more than adequate. Id definitely stay at this boutique hotel again. Read on for more details...
My kids loved the pool and eating on the pool patio. Staff was helpful but not invasive. Beautiful grounds created a relaxing vacation. Loved the vaulted ceilings and spa quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the rooms. Did not have to even get out mine they worked so well!
The SD Mission Bay Resort is a beautiful property! My family really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The staff was very accommodating, friendly, and professional. Our boys loved the pool and enjoyed access to the bay! Our room was clean and lovely! We will definitely be back!
Love the resort. The front desk is very knowledgeable and friendly. They made sure I had everything I needed. The environment is beautiful and its less than a couple of steps to get to a beach. My kids enjoyed playing in the sand and the convenient returning to the room. The room is a little dated but very clean. The pool can be packed so be there early!
We live in San Diego and thought this would be the perfect spot for a staycation! The kids loved all of the hanging swings and chairs. The staff was very nice. I wouldnt recommend eating every meal at their restaurants. The pool is very nice. Bathrooms are easily accessible. It is a quick walk to the bay. There are chairs for the beach but not many. Action rental sports said the hotel didnt give us many chairs i only saw 4 of the lounging chairs. The showers are big. The air conditioning was cold and kept the room comfortable.
Lovely room with a garden patio. HUGE tv in the room. Must have been a 50+ inch screen. Have never seen such a large screen at any of the hotels that Ive stayed in. Nice layout. Nice comfy king size bed. There is no room service per say but you can go to the bar and order to go. Had breakfast there- tasty potatoes with my eggs! Delish!
I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. As part of my work I travel a lot. I almost visit 5 to 7 states every month. This time I decided to stay few more days in san diego as a vacation and decided to take a resort so I can relax before I go back to work.Unfortunately I was really frustrated (just imagine how many hotels I have seen during the last few years as part of my work). The room was not clean, the bed also was not clean, the pillows are all the same and none works for me. The toilet seat is very inconvenient, it is very short!!! Never seen something like this. The air circulation in the room is not correct. Just to explain, there is only one vent in the room and the thermostat is located under the vent makes impossible to guess the right temperature of the room and the frequency of the ac turn on and off is very high. The beach is a public beach, it is not clean and very shallow. The distance between the water and the passway is less than 30 feet. The pool is big, but full of kids, nothing can be done about it. You can not relax.Just to mention, the staff is so nice. It is also worth mentioning that my visit was during the corona virus. I think it is a great place for families with kids, not singles or couples. The location is also great.
Great team very friendly and nice, very welcoming and greeting. We stayed 3 nights for honey moon, and The hotel’s team gave us a gift and two complimentary breakfast. 100% positive experience, Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation on the beach, Thank you Estrella and Gordon :)
Loved it very nice place to stay. right on beach and many things to rent and keep busy i will definitely be back
Beautiful resort - better than I remember from my youth (when it was a Hilton). Very clean, quiet rooms, perfect location. Loved all the activities available during our stay!
Had to find a last minute place for our family vacation since the beaches around us were closing. Came across a good deal for this place, got there was so pleased with their service. First room we were in wasnt great, they moved us right away. The views are amazing, rooms clean, the service was wonderful HIGHLY recommend for families with kids 3-13 as there are lots of activities for everyone. We already booked again for Labor Day, cant wait to bring the entire family
My wife and I celebrated our 28th anniversary at Mission Bay Resort. Both management and staff were attentive to our particular needs and very responsive. The setting of the property on the Bay with commanding sunsets, immaculate grounds, and newly remodeled rooms was outstanding ... as an architect designer, well traveled, it goes a long way for me to be impressed and all these counts. We will be telling all our friends about the resort and booking another stay in September. Well worth looking into! It had my 5 stars
I loved this hotel. The remodel is very hip with a modern beach vibe. The staff are going above and beyond to make sure the guests are safe from COVID. Our hotel room was very clean. Bathroom large and nicely remodeled. Pool is large and Mission Bay is right beyond the fence. We all found fun things to do.
Super professional, stayed here while I was in the mist of moving. Such a fun time, pool, beaches and free breakfast
We stayed here a few years ago and expected the same level of service and hotel condition. We were very dissappointed this visit. Though the beddding and room had been improved, the rest of the expected items were of inferior quality. The shampoo and conditioner in our room was empty, rancid smelling, and the bottles had mold of some sort on their surface. Two of our pillow cases had black marks as though they had been on a dirty floor then replaced on the bed.The patio furniture was dirty. The patio was dirty and stained - a simple pressure wash clearly needed. The patio landscaping was filled with random trash items and bottle tops.We visited the pool twice, only to find the lounge furniture dirty and had clearly not been sanatized between users. In fact, it appeared that the furniture and tables had not been cleaned recently as when we asked for it to be wiped down, the rags came up black. The pool area was littered from the palm trees and it appears that the grounds crew, nor any other staff, thought the bigger items should be picked up for safety of the guests.Pool staff was seemingly non-existent on Thursday, and scarse on Friday until after 4 pm. Even though the pool was crowded and guests were desiring service. This was a topic socially among guests at the pool.I walked the grounds in the mornings (2 mornings) and found that trash in the planters was not picked up from one day to the next. Not just an isolated incident, but in several areas.Based on this visit, there is no reason to recommend this once fine resort.
Loved the place, landscaping is very attractive and its very convenient to beaches and walks. Break fast was great. Loved the pancakes and potatoes, omelette and scramble eggs and the pancake sauce was so yummy. We felt comfortable.
HANDS DOWN AMAZING! Gordon needs a raise times 20! He made our familes trip go from good to fantastic in about 1 minute. He is extremely professionally and personable! And my nephew has a new best friend named Gordie
The place is clean! Room with fire pit is awesome. You can swim on both bay and pool, its good to have a choice, than just pool. Hotel team are friendly.
Great service but too many kids, over priced rooms with no bell or vallet or near parking. Dinner at restaurant was horribly overpriced and unappetizing. I think its more a family place if you can afford it.
We loved staying at this hotel. Staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. Use of COVID precautions was excellent. Food was great. Pool was clean and structured space wise. Staff attended to needs immediately. We will be back.
We stay each year in August for our Anniversary. The cleanliness of the Hotel is top notch. The Service is exceptional. Everyone went out of their way to accomodate our needs. We highly recommend this hotel.
Highly disappointed on the check in process. I checked in 30 minutes earlier than the check in time and still did not get my room until 4:30 pm. People that checked in after me were able to get there room before me. When I finally got my room, I opened the door and was greeted by a big dog and people laying on the bed. Somehow they gave me a room that was already taken. This is unacceptable, my toddler without knowing ran inside and was frightened by the dog. After all the dilema we did not get into our room until after 5:30 pm. The front desk was very unorganized! I am very disappointed and expected more from this place. Family trip ruined !
Very pleasant stay. Tom is renovated and spacious, but lack a workstation, on purpose. It is because this is a resort instead of a sleep n go lodging, though it also features a convention center. Buffet at the Aqua is a breeze but the glass at the juice station could have been cleaner. Lack of a spoon or fork here and there couldnt stop me from stealing from the next table :-( A free flying fly inside the restaurant rions the tranquil ambiance. Nevertheless, the crew is very courteous.Parking overnight is $20 but you can park in the street just outside the hotel compound.
Really nice place to stay. One thing the bed was hard as rock. No soft at all. Loved the poolside drinks!!
Beautiful place to relax and have fun..has everything. restrooms, park, shoreline, has bonfire pits, you can bbq. my new favorite place
We like this resort. Smores on the beach, great view of the water, staff was quick to respond.
I had a horrible experience! The front desk lady was very rude and she had a serious attitude. She didnt explain where to go very clear and when I ask her to repeat herself she was annoyed. My family was lost pretty much because the front lady was so rude I didnt want to ask anymore question. Rather go somewhere that welcomes you with open arms.
I love mission bay area walk around!Love Kathy Lehar
I have to give a special extra shout out to Arcello who was our first and best experience with the hotel. He was very kind and professional and handled questions very well. He is an asset to the hotel and I wanted to acknowledge him specifically.
Things to love and things I didnt. We happened to be there this weekend for a special event and our booking/checking process was a nightmare because they couldnt figure out the special pricing. Ill put the details at the end if you care to read about what happened. The room was beautiful. Clean, modern, and a great view. We had an ocean view room and it didnt disappoint. The ballroom was pretty standard and within a short walk of the room. Food for the event was wonderful. The on site restaurant also had amazing food, however the music in it was LOUD all three meals of the day. We could hardly have a conversation. And it was a horrible selection of music. Lots of remixes and mostly songs that are very electronic with moderate to fast tempo. Just one step below full-on clubbing music. It ruined our dining experiences the four times we ate there. When we go away for the weekend, the restaurant on site plays a big role in our time, so Im not sure if we would go again. Also, I think we still ended up paying more than we were supposed to for our room due to their computer issues. the issue is that we had a group rate for one of our two nights there. But because we were booking the second night they couldnt get the group rate to work. Her suggestion was to pay the full price and then have our company HR contact them to adjust it after the stay. Really????? They finally got that issue fixed at my suggestion to try booking the second night separately. We ended up paying the full price for the second night even though the best available rate online was $30 less. I was so tired of fighting over all of it at that point that I let it go.As you can see from the response below, they are oh so sweet, yet there is no offer to fix the problem. This was the issue with the whole booking process. Even though the fault was theirs (and we were overcharged) the response was always just pay it and maybe we can fix it later or next time. Unacceptable, IMO.
The food at the restaurant was delicious. The wait staff were so friendly and attentive! The room was big, quiet, clean, with a great view of the courtyard and a peak of the water. The store closed early during my stay and I wanted to purchase bottles of water, so the front desk grabbed a bag from the back and gave me some for the inconvenience.Would I stay again? Yup!
Its by Fiesta Island I went kayaking from there it was nice
Beautiful room with amazing views. Super friendly staff. Great pool. And the action sports rental located right next to the property made this an amazing place to stay. Planned a trip with only one night here and my biggest regret is I didnt stay longer. Loved it.
We loved our stay! We rented a pontoon boat, rode bikes, all during Covid and felt safe. Room was clean and remodel is excellent. Staff was professional and courteous while safely distanced.
2019. Very nice resort with great location to the bay, parks, beach and SeaWorld.
Had an AMAZING stay here. They allowed me to do a photo shoot with several models for SunBum and upgraded our room to top it off! The “beach” isn’t much but just 2 miles and you’re at the real beach anyways. The pool area with bars is tremendous, I used it for many of my photos. Highly recommended.
The resort is right down by the water!! We had a really nice time walking around Mission Bay, couldnt ask for a better location!! I recommend it...
We made reservations ahead of time, I called to confirm that Pool was open. My husband and I were very excited to come for the weekend to spend the day in the warm sun. When we arrived, we jumped in our bathing suits and walked over to pool at 3pm. The attendants said that they were at capacity and we would have to be on a waiting list, we were disappointed but udnerstood. We went to our room and waited, while 3 pm quickly became 8pm and no calls, I called front desk and they apologized that no one called that we could go now. We walked over to the pool, no sun, and cold. Very bad Experience, we literally paid $400 for a room, $40 for parking and a resot fee.
Omg this place was a dream, It was my birthday and my partner plan everything, he got this amazing concierge name Gordi he’s seriously amazing ! He help my partner with everything from roses in the room to room massages I mean I can even explain it! Yes that’s me being silly in the middle of the bed !!
The very best for a getaway and or place to rest and relax. If you can- room 230 was fabulous. Best view and walking next to the Bay. Chairs to sit outside were a nice touch and thank goodness they provide a sewing kit (needed it for my pants button - whew). I loved my stay here and the staff were absolutely the best. From checking in to checking out - nothing but Aces!
Just stayed over the weekend and it was a complete nightmare. From the nasty hotel room with obvious clumps of hair in the bed and on the shower walls to the 3 hour wait to get into the resort pool to the disgusting trashed and murky pool water to the horrible service at the restaurant onsite to the ect.. You get the point. Very concerned that the resort was not following any kind of Covid guidelines. It was like a packed trailer park inside the resort. It was a huge rip-off for what they charge and I would never refer anyone here. Spoke to management and though they acknowledged the issues, they only refunded the daily resort fee. Unreal
Nice to be in a less crowded place than the ocean. The bay is just as nice and its a beautiful place.
Its so nice ️ a safe place to play with little kids since the bay is calm
We really enjoyed out weekend stay. The pool was great and not too crowded. Social distancing practices were being upheld by most patrons and masks were worn when walking through common areas. I wish there were more food options, but I understand why they had to limit which restaurants to open. The staff were helpful with texting throughout our stay and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. We did rent a cabana, which wasnt really work the $150 price tag but we enjoyed lounging in it nonetheless.
I have stayed in literally over a thousand hotels and I have never experienced the customer service I received checking into this Resort. Arcelio and Gordy Berry, Shaka, God bless you three Gentlemen. In these crazy times its refreshing to recieve that level of service.
Amazing experience!!! Chef Alyssa Franke is an extremely talented Chef! She always has something new to blow your mind with!! Patio dinning is a must especially at sun set! Fine dining but you will feel right at home with the personal service that you will be treated to!!!
A M A Z I N G. The staff was attentive the entire time. My son injured himself and they came THROUGH then too!Courtesy! Convenience! Care! Cleanliness! And THE BEST WEATHER. Cabana rental price is for the whole day, and comes with a goodie basket. We are going to make it a family tradition and stay every summer. ️
Beautiful grounds and views. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will be going back.
Loved staying here for New Year! Fantastic staff, Jessie was wonderful and I cant wait to come back next year.
Positive: Good location on Mission Bay. Negative: Our “garden view†room looked out onto a parking lot with RV parking and homeless people and we were separated by a security gate. The pool was beautiful but was not heated and was too cold for us to enjoy. Other nearby hotels have heated p
This is a beautiful facility, located on the Bay and offering cool ocean breezes and lush, green landscaping. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Unfortunately we stayed at a time when Covid caused restrictions, so not all facilities and features of the hotel were available.
Amazing resort! Amazing town! One of our family’s BEST vacations ️ I was warned by other reviews that Mission Bay resort & spa was under construction at the beginning of the year switching from a Hilton resort. However, I was not notified that the swimming pool was closed during our stay; the entire reason was to tucker out my three year old at the pool. The front desk was AMAZING; they communicated we have access to a sister resort pool across the bay (8 min drive), they will be removing my parking AND resort fees$... oh and they upgraded us to a suite on mission beach because of this inconvenience! The BEST customer service of my life! Who needs a pool when you have the beach ️ The resort location was close to everything, old town San Diego, Balboa park/San Diego zoo and yummy local restaurants. Also, public children playgrounds are north & south of the resort for the kids. The gym was super clean, the spa gave me a gorgeous shampoo/style, the front desk staff was extremely kind and my favorite... the house cleaning made our beds everyday and cleaned up my kids toys off the ground; much appreciated! Wow! I can not wait to return and see the new remodel, I WILL book again
Resort needs to disclose that the pool and parts of resort are under construction and looks like itll be so for the next few weeks/months. The weather for the weekend was going to be close to 80 degrees+ so I specifically choose this resort because the images online of their outdoor living and pool looked amazing. Upon approaching the lobby, a gentleman outside set the expectations right away that they were under construction and that the pool was closed (assuming thats their job so people would take out some anger on them versus going full blown angry on front desk representatives). Hotel had a mixture of representatives that were EXTREMELY kind and apologetic but also a couple that did not give a #%*^ and pretty rude. The resorts resolution for no pool is sending their guests to another resort which is about 10minutes away. Thanks for the disappointment Mission Bay Resort! We had 4 young kids excited to jump in the pool and have a relaxing weekend, unfortunately we got the complete opposite. The reason we booked a resort and not a typical hotel is for convenience of everything being in one location, NOT drive around all over the place. Getting kids in and out of the car is not an easy task to do and NOT what we booked or paid for! Thanks! If it were simple to cancel and book another hotel we wouldve done so. We had just drove 4 hours and didnt want to deal with any other bs so just settled where we were. Im sure this resort will have its stuff together come Summer (at least I hope) but for now Id avoid the place and book somewhere else.
Good spot, free chairs and umbrella to rent from the hotel makes it convenient. Nice big pool with lots of games and activities for kids of all ages to play. Ping pong, corn hole, ladder ball..
The rooms in the tower are a little dated, but the grounds are really nice to walk. The pool is warm and clean. The pizza from the olive bar is really good!
Its gorgeous, its in the best location, you can walk to lounges and bars...What cant you like about this place?Came here for a bachelorette party, and the room was dope. Great view of the city, spacious rooms, clean areas, nice service. Highly recommend.
Nice Resort! Very clean pool and hotel rooms. Beach is decent but they ran out of complimentary chairs and umbrellas.
So beautiful. The walk along the bay was great. The food was amazing. The spa was wonderful. Right in the center of everything. The staff were extremely nice and quick. Cant wait for our next trip to San Diego!!
Awesome place. Great amenities views awesome location good customer service just find all around.
This resort is great for both families and couples.... it is being renovated and should be completely ready by mid-late spring 2020. It has a beautiful pool area and access to Mission Bay Park as well as a fully outfitted water sports center for fun on and along the bay. Easy 4 mile drive from the airport and very near Sea World, the zoo/Balboa Park, Old Town, upscale shopping, downtown Gaslight district, and beaches.
Great service, very attentive staff and nice perks. Rooms are large, somewhat modern and quiet, which is a luxury in that neighborhood
Great location, pools were perfect, good food+drinks and service was awesome!!! Definitely recommend this spot
Great place for families, not so much for a young adult looking for a resort-style vibe.
Great hotel and friendly staff. Definitely coming back
We had a great time! Lots of things to do with the family. The facility was clean and the staff were friendly.
This place is great. Not a single complaint.
This place was absolutely STUNNING. I stayed for a few days last year and never wanted to leave. The staff treated me like I was nothing less than gold, from the room they gave me, the perks I got as a Hilton employee.. WOW. Beautiful, clean, and exceeding expectations. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
The hotel and rooms are fabulous. The pool was one of the reasons we chose the hotel and everything was great. Service is strained but Im going to chalk that up to Covid.
After a long day of work we were exhausted and not in the best of moods until we arrived at the hotel. The young man who checked us in tonight Daniel went above and beyond to make us feel so welcomed and special. His excellence in hospitality was so very appreciated. The hotel room was gorgeous (as always) but the customer service is why we will never stay anywhere else. Thank you Daniel and San Diego Mission Bay Resort.
We stayed for my wifes birthday and it was a wonderful experience all around. We will be back the next time we stay in San Diego.
I want to take this opportunity to share with you my weekend at the San Diego Hilton on mission bay. I planned to propose to my girlfriend, I had a vision on what I wanted to do. I called the concierge of the hotel, to share my thoughts. WOW, Gordon aka (Gordie) hit the ball out of the park!!! His attention to details was flawless. Working with Gordie and his hospitality made us feel like royalty. I want to thank you so much for going out of your way Gordie and making the weekend so beautiful for us.I also want to thank the spa representatives, this is one of the services which Gordon reserved for us. We had a couple’s massage, my fiancé mentioned Erin gave her the best massage she ever received and I agreed with her. Sara was awesome and both masseuse represented spa with integrity, if you are there this is a must do. The views of the hotel and the restaurant on the premise were outstanding, we cannot wait to go back very soon. Thank you to ALL for a perfect weekend.
First time in San Diego for me and my wife. So glad we chose this hotel. I always try to stay at Hilton hotels anywhere I visit and never been disappointed. Another 5 star for sure. We absolutley loved our ocean view room with the fire pit.
Great stay at the Hilton. The service was top notch and the setting was fantastic. Its a little bit off the beaten path but offers a great location for walking in the park, swimming and enjoying the setting on the water.
Amazing place, lovely pool area, bar, hot tub, restaurant, shop, friendly staff, all was great. Right on mission Bay with parks and places to walk and ride for miles right outside your door and was easily 15-30 mins from everywhere.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and I am never disappointed! The rooms are lovely, the view from the room is priceless and the staffs service is over the top! Dinner at the restaurant was amazing and service was fantastic. Everything from reservation to check in, room service, dinner and check out was perfection. I look forward to my next stay!
The hotel lobby is just exquisite and has beautiful wood furnishing. Staff are very friendly and courteous. There food at the restaurants are good too!
Its been nice besides the floor was dirty and there was a small spider and I am scared of spider but I was fine
The resort was advertised as a four star resort but no beds were ever made or trash cleaned out during our stay, asking us to do our own housekeeping. Bath supplies were empty or minimal on arrival and we had to obtain towels and trash bags ourselves regularly. The restaurant food was ok (salty) but overpriced (averaged at $350 a day for two adults and two kids) and occasionally served on dishes using disposable products, and on tables that we had to request to be cleaned. There was a blackout on the last night of our stay but the generator took so long to work that we had to climb eight flights of steps repeatedly and then leave the hotel to get food outside. We didn’t use the pool because of the COVID risk but lots of people did, and neither the surrounding “beach” which was artificial looking but people did barbecue there along with some kayaking. Everyone wore masks but hand sanitizers were spurious in the lifts, and staff seem to wear the same gloves all shift long that they used to touch absolutely everything, even the customers. When leaving the hotel we asked to have breakfast in time for checkout but that was not accommodated. Overall the regular everyday staff were friendly but the managers in charge were rude and unhelpful. Hence this is not somewhere we’d frequent again or recommend.
False advertising. The hotel is not right on the beach as described. It’s more of a marina. Which, no big deal. It was still close to the beach but we did have to drive there. The day we arrived we were told there were no carts to load our stuff onto to take to the room. So we had to make 3 trips back and forth with 2 small children just to get our things unloaded. You pay $40 a night for parking and the parking situation is absolutely ridiculous. We had to park very far from our room and walk with all of our things to our room. The second day we had to call and ask for our room to be cleaned and trash taken out. And the staff that answered had the attitude that we were bothering them by asking to have our room cleaned. We wanted to take our kids night swimming and when we arrived at the pool it was very dark and unsafe. The pool area is not properly lit for night. There was also a group of adults sitting around the bon fire area taking shots and smoking weed, very inappropriate for children to be around. The jacuzzi was shut down as well so we could not use that. Also, the walking paths by the “beach” are not lit up either. The rooms are very dated and not worth what you pay for. The TV in our room had a big black streak down the middle of it like it was going out.The day we left I took my 2 small children to the pool to swim a bit. It was extremely packed and there was no where for me to set our things down so I could get my kids situated for the pool. I saw an empty chair so I sat down for a quick second so I could put my sons floatys on. A tall blonde woman ran over to me to tell me I could not sit there, people have reserved these “cabanas” and they pay a lot of money to do so. I explained to her I was just trying to get my kids ready for the pool and then we would be moving on. She saw I had my hands full and instead of directing me to an area where I COULD sit she had an attitude. I paid a lot of money to stay there as well. Also, there are no signs in front of the “cabanas” saying that they are reserved. It’s literally just an open area that looks like anyone can sit there.Once we finally got into the pool it was nasty and dirty, there were dead bugs everywhere. It clearly had not been cleaned before guests were able to go in and swim. The overall experience is definitely not worth what you pay to stay there. I would never recommend this place or stay again.
Beautiful hotel and grounds right in the bay. Large swimming pool with a nice bay breeze most of the day in the summer. Easy to access strand (boardwalk) that you can walk, skate or ride a bike along the beautiful bay.The resort offers lots of meeting spaces and a small convention center.A true Southern California resort.
Was here for a conference in February. The resort was under renovation and practically shut down, no pool, limited bar/restaurant, and boat rentals were spotty. This could be understandable for the off season, but the room I had was also disappointing. There was a constant sound of running water which I asked someone to take a look at but they said they couldnt do anything. The view was also less than desired, some shrubs and a small sitting area that is shaded all hours of the day. I think this could be a nice place in peak season, but it left a lot to be desired for my visit.
Beautiful resort, the rooms were very clean and spacious
Great staff, great hospitality, great food, great location, great resort and value! Ronald and staff at the resort bars & restaurants is awesome!
Great staff, they did everything they could to make my stay nice but this place is a run down dump. Spent over $220/ night, you would think at that rate you could get a nice room. The tub and sink would only drain slowly. They were able to fix the tub but not the sink. When I first took a shower the water filled the tub.The safe did not work and they were not able to fix it.This was to be a room with 2 queen beds but it was 2 standard beds. This is a resort hotel that has the view and noise of I-5. Anything but relaxing. Very disappointed should have saved a $100/ night and gone to a discount hotel.
Wonderful hotel, location, experience. Definitely going back!
Family had a fantastic time during our stay. I was disappointed that, despite paying full price for each of rooms and considering I’m a diamond guest, we were stuffed in their basic rooms @ $350 per night. They switched us the following day to a room equal to what i paid for but it didn’t eliminate the disappointment. Pool & beach access were great. Drinks are not made with love. We ordered Cadillac’s & tasted nothing but the mix. We then ordered pitchers or Cadillac (thinking that if i paid more they’d be generous with the tequila and easy on the mix) - nope. - still we made the best of it. Everyone was friendly and that was important to us when kids were running between beach and pool 3 days, 2 nights, 2 rooms.
Great views! Nice park and bay with several activities. Restaurant is nice and serves a variety of food/drinks.
I’ve never stayed in a grosser hotel room. From the thick dust on every imaginable surface, to the LONG DARK HAIRS that were STUCK to my shampoo Bottle, it’s clear that the rooms are not cleaned after every guest.Imagine on your first night taking a shower and finding a dark long hair wrapped multiple times around the shower soap bottles. Far from a pleasant experience and does very little to convince me there is ANY care put into room cleanliness. Friendly staff though.
Very clean with beautiful views. Great for families. Lots of things to do on the property and around. Brisk walk from the beach. Having a private balcony in a hotel is always very nice. Room service is spectacular And Timely. Front desk is very accommodating.
The hotel is very nice and our room with the outdoor fire pit made for a nice evening. Unfortunately I was very unhappy with the cleanliness of our room. We had to wait an extra hour for the COVID cleaning and I was great with this, but upon entry there were candy wrappers on the floor, hair ties left on the cadenza and hairs all over the bathroom. This did not lead me to believe that any extra care was given based on COVID. Then as I walked around the property many guests were not observing the rules regarding masks. I get that these are tough times - but on private property where masks are required I expect more enforcement. Maybe when this COVID period is over I would stay again, but right now it would be difficult for me to recommend this place.
