Well it was a Wyndham update so how good could it be. Lets say it was a free exchange of ideas.
Everyone was wonderful from valet to check in. Felt comfortable with Covid precautions in place. Location was great with lots of food options close by and close to bridge to Coronado.
Great staff, kept the place hygienic and Covid19 regulations. Valets were fantastic. Currently the wrist bands keycards are in use. Security is great. Rooms were spacious and kept up well. Overall good experience. The town around is for younger crowds and nightlife. I was in for a Funeral stayed only a couple of days. Very close to restaurants and all the great activities. Super close to the airport. If you are looking for a great place to stay, I would highly suggest here.
Great place and close to everything, down town San Diego
Our experience was AWESOME at Harbour Lights!!All staff was very helpful on answering all our questions and concerns. My family enjoyed their stay.
Have stayed there 2 times one of my preferred Hotels in San Diego, no complaints friendly staff and Valet, clean well furnished rooms
I have a reservation and tried to contact the hotel with a follow up question. Multiple times. Line goes unanswered and it makes me nervous for the stay. Having worked for a hotel in the past its nervous making to have phone lines go unanswered. Is the hotel closed down due to Covid 19? Why isnt there a message line? How do they stay in business not answering the phone calls?
Great location and our room was very clean and comfortable
This was a great place to stay. We didnt do the timeshare presentation or anything, but we definitely enjoyed the spacious rooms with the kitchenettes that are Staples of timeshare hotels. I would have liked free breakfast many similar hotels offer, but there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby.
I stayed here it was really nice!
Followed COVID 19 sanitation and distancing requirements. Staff was friendly. Location was less than ideal. The view was across the street from a tattoo parlor and dollar type grocery store where dice games and loud mudic were played until late into the night. Many amenities were not available due to the pandemic; however, the hotel did not compensate for the lack of amenities such as fitness room, breakfast etc. with other possibile amenities such as free parking, water, etc.
Great location. In the heart of the district. Easy walk to the water to catch a ferry or see the Midway museum. Even walking distance to Balboa park. Great restaurants just a few blocks away. Worth the visit sit.
Rachel and her staff at club Wyndham resort and hotel Do an Amazing job at providing a special stay during corona season Wyndham ur the best at making ur guest feel special thank you Mr.Mrs.Marion
If you want to experience and explore the gaslight district of San Diego i cant think of a better place to stay. The rooms are great, the staff is friendly and responsive, and its just at the edge of the gaslight so you have a chance of getting good nights sleep. I look forward to staying there again. If you are bothered by the noise they d provide ear plugs.
The hotel itself was very nice. Same with the staff (very friendly). Unfortunately, there were very loud and rowdy people who for whatever reason hung out in front of the hotel until 2:00am in the morning on both nights. On the second night a huge fight broke out right underneath our room involving several people. The hotel security did absolutely nothing about it. Its for this reason that I will never stay at this hotel again.
I am a picky client, but it was very nice stay in the heart of the city, right in center of party. Clean, spacious rooms, nice bathroom and kitchenette, everything is pleasant and equipped. Cons: 5th ave is super noisy at night, no daily room service, no Nespresso on site. Pros: valet fee waived if you attend 1.5 hr lecture at breakfast, nice internet speed included, pastry in foyer in morning, discount given for breakfast at Cafe21 which is absolutely delicious!!!Overall: highly recommended
Great, friendly, very clean and welcoming.
Stay away from the sales staff. They charge you to go to their sales pitch. They are no more an owner care center than a nickel and dime sales team. The hotel is dated in some places, but the hotel staff (cleaning and front desk) is amazing and really goes out of their way to make you feel like a valued owner.
Very nice clean professional
Ive been staying here for years!but after my last stay, it may be my last! The area has changed a lot! Lots of homeless people on streets & at night there was a man screaming obscenities on the corner & waking us up!! Not a pleasant experience!!
Wonderful friendly staff. Rooms had everything you may need and were clean. Beds were very comfortable. My husband and I were married there on the beach and the staff welcomed us with a basket of goodies and a card signed by the front staff and management. I only heard one police siren and that didnt bother me at all. We were close to many restaurants and shopping and 15 minutes from the beach. Downside parking was $36 a night and we had to visit a timeshare which b Im already a member and did not want to spend a two hours of my time doing.
If you are staying in for a night, ask for a late check-in and avoid the selling breakfast presentation. Rooms are clean but its a open suites with one King and one pull out sofa bed.Bathrooms are spacious and modern. Rainfall shower head was a good surprise.
My first time staying here and I’m Inlove, the view, the comfort, heated pool the staff was very attentive. Especially Kailyana her customer service was amazing, Great attitude!!! Definitely coming back
We love being Wyndham club owners. The resorts are always super clean. The staff very friendly and helpful.
Where to start with this place. First of all if you want a quiet place to relax this is not the establishment. The noise from the partiers on 9th Avenue is very annoying plus walking in the area means you have to avoid any number of street people sleeping in doorways. Walking down 9th Avenue on Monday morning for breakfast I was struck in the chest by one such person. Fortunately it was not my wife who was assaulted a she would have suffered serious injuries. Also this individual could easily have had a knife. Neither of us felt safe after this incident and consequently went to other areas of the city for the day and did not leave the hotel once we came back in the evening. The valet parking was efficient but costly at 36 US a night. Also I like to be able to walk out of my hotel get in the car and drive away without asking someone to bring it to me. The biggest thing though was the alleged concierge that isnt there to help you out with your vacation. This concierges main goal was to get you to attend a session to discuss your travel options which in reality is an opportunity to expose you to a high pressure sales pitch to either purchase Wyndham points or upgrade your existing points. All in all I would never return here or advise anyone else to consider it.
I would give it more stars if I didnt have to smell the weed being smoked in the street below us. Our room was literally above the lobby, across from a nightclub. That part didnt bother me cuz we were exhausted. The part that did bother me was the 2nd night smelling weed. We didnt even open our window at all that day.
Very nice hotel but lacking some amenities. There is no pool, only a sauna and steam room. The rooms facing 5th avenue get a lot of noise from the street. They give you ear plugs for that reason but it can still be disturbing. Centrally located, some snacks and drinks for guests in the afternoon. The room was clean and included a kitchenette, toaster, iron, laundry services and plenty of towels. Nice place
Great rooms ...washer and dryer were not in the unit but they were located in the building.
Stay away from the sales staff especially the fast talkers there’s way better company with less pressure and better benefits for the money
Very good place. This is a time share, so you cant ask for a room. Gary from guest services did an awesome job of resolving a few issues. He let us know of the renovations ahead of time. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Best location for a resort. Right downtown in the middle of all the action. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Recommende this place. Newly renovated and cute rooms with great views.
Update: The hotel responded to me, asking me to email their address and a manager would follow up. Yet, after three weeks and two emails sent, they haven’t responded at all. No calls, no email, or anything. Beware of their customer service.Beware of the valet that the hotel uses. My wife and I were on vacation in San Diego to celebrate Valentine’s Day Weekend. We parked with the valet at the Wyndham (contracted through Safeco I believe). After dinner, we picked up the car, I noticed new, fairly large scratches on the bumper. I immediately called the valet, and he told me to file an incident report. I promptly filed it the next morning, and then the valet on duty took several photos. He told me the manager would follow up on Monday. But, Monday came, and no follow up. I proceeded to call every day, asking to speak to the manager. It took 5 days of calls until the manager finally returned my call. He told me he received the incident report. He then asked me to visit two body shops to get estimates, and then he would file it through their insurance. I took time out of the work day to get two body shop estimates and sent them to the email address he provided. He confirmed receipt of the info and said he would be in contact with me.After not hearing from him for a few weeks, I followed up with him today. Then, about 3:30, someone from an insurance agency called me, saying that she would deny the claim because we left the property before filing a report. The lady on the phone was a bit hard to understand, and was extremely rude to me as well. She accused me of causing the damage myself, which was a little bit insulting. Also, I distinctly remember the valet person on duty saying it looks exactly like damage that would have occurred in their parking garage.I followed up with the hotel (both local and Wyndham corporate) and they did nothing. I understand the valet company is separate, but the hotel should at least help it’s customers. Very poor customer service.
Conveniently located within walking distance of a wide variety of restaurants
In the middle of the Gaslamp district. Great rooms friendly staff
The hotel was very clean and in a very good location. You can walk to restaurants, shops and the red trolley. There was plenty to see and enjoy in the area. A perfect vacation destination. Our room had a kitchenette, king size bed and sofa with a pull-out Queen size bed. A family of four would be very comfortable.
I gave it a three star because the staff were very nice and the rooms were clean. This is not a resort at all. No swimming pool or anything to do at this Wyndham habor lights. There are no amenities. If you are on vacation to just relax and do nothing, then its for you. I will not be coming back here. Thanks to all the staff that made our stay enjoyable.
Feel like in my home but a Suggest at least a room service each 2-3 days and not 4days as established.
Great area and most of the rooms are newly renovated with a friendly staff and nice amenities like refreshments, cookies and themed events daily. The only complaint is the odd noises at weird times of the morning and night. I thought it was due to the renovation workers, but the noises would occur fairly late at night and very early in the morning. Overall great place to stay with plenty of restaurants and fun sites close by. Would definitely come back here, after renovations are done.
Was there for a Wyndom Timeshare update. Highly recommend
Stayed here for 4 nights after a cruise. It was our 5th stay here, and the place was freshly remodeled. Each studio room had a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, 2-burner stove top, toaster, blender), which saved us a lot from eating out. The new beds were very comfy and the room was quiet. Laundry facilities are in the basement. The location is great for restaurants, supplies, museums, convention center, waterfront, and shopping. I would recommend.
Very beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and great staff.
It was awesome the people that run the place to the crew that work outside there all wonderful an knowledgeable about whats going on there an will help you get the best deals for going plus in the lounge they have a coffee bar iced water an usually snacks sweet role or mixed candy an always popcorn there.when we first got there they had us on the 4th floor but my wife thought that would still be to noise there so they moved us to the top an a handy cap room since my wife was still recovering from back sugery .that room was the bomb had a walk in shower a TV that pulled away from the wall over sized doors it was a great room
It was our first time in San Diego and we couldn’t of asked for a better experience! Kristy was so sweet and shared all of her favorite places. My 2 year old, 13 year old, and hubs all had smiles the whole time!! The room was clean and felt like home away from home!
Very nice facility. Located right in the heart of thr Gaslamp District in Szn Diego.
Stayed in August 2018. Great location near restaurants, bars, Starbucks couple blocks away. Tacos are good pretty much every where. The room was clean and the bed was ver comfortable. Def would go back!
Nice place to stay just not for families, the valet parking is just a nuisance.
The concierge at the front are LIARS. They took a deposit for a face2face meeting. The meeting (time share presentation) didnt happen because of their fault and they agreed to give me a refund and never did. After calling several times and getting assurances from John and his supervisor, it has been 1.5 months and still no resolve. I lost $20. I hope anyone who reads this is warned. Dont deal with these people. If there were a 0 star rating i would have given them that.
Nice downtown location, but a bit noise outside early in the morning.
Very nice. Room is small but adequate. Customer service is great. The parking situation is basically forced valet and not at reasonable price. Otherwise 5 stars
Super comfy bed!! Excellent sleep. Excellent part of town
Great resort by the beach with a long Pier and a restraunt at the end .
Its a wonderful place very clean the staff is very courteous they have a superb breakfast and I will be returning. great job
Nice place for a historical area but be ready to pay for some parking
Clean nice size rooms. Close to downtown and easy to get to. Had a small issue with the bathroom and there was no bathtub. Bathtub is important to me after a long flight or a day spent sightseeing to relax my muscles.
Nice accommodations. Part of Wyndham timeshare resorts. Right in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. Plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Parking is expensive.
Great place and location. Right in the middle of all the clubs, restaurants and shopping.
Perfect location, easy to walk everywhere. Renovations currently happening but we were heading off before 9 anyway so it didnt affect our stay. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
Located in Gas Lamp District
I just loved that it suited our purpose for just my husband and Iand a beautiful family wedding
Nice place to stay in San Diego. Its conveniently located in the Gaslamp district. Walking distance to a lot of places. Staff are very nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
Love this place. Great location, amazing staff and awesome room! I would definitely stay here again. We got a room in the back part of the hotel on the 7th floor facing south, room 701 to be exact. The only bad thing I really have to say was that the noise outside made it difficult to fall asleep on the weekend... I guess thats why they provide ear plugs. Its too be expected being in the Gas Lamp District. I would recommend staying here if you want to be in the heart of the downtown core. The only real detractors were the noise level and the unfortunate amount of homeless in the local area.
The staff was very friendly and manager Heather is excellent. However, we went several days without air conditioning and we were not notified before our arrival that the hotel was changing their air system. Also we were ambushed into attending a 90 min presentation where the company tried to sell us a time share. They took us off site without prior notification and tried to high pressure us into a every expensive contact.Overall, I will not stay at another Wyndham.
Feeling the warmth! I walked in as a guest to good energy from this place. It was clean, they had great music softly playing, complimentary desserts, hot cocoa, coffee and tea upon arrival and were very kind and welcoming. It felt safe and comfortable. This location can get a bit loud on weekend nights as it is in the center of the Gaslamp district where all the clubs and bars are, so bring earplugs or plan on being part of the late night party. Its central to the downtown grid.
We were overall displeased with our stay. Right away they started pushing free stuff with their ultimate goal of selling time shares. Our baby was crying, so they said theyd call us to talk about the time share and I didnt want to be rude, so I agreed. Our luggage hadnt even been delivered to our room before they started calling. They called so many times that I had to disconnect my phone. They finally trapped us in the lobby one evening sometime after 7 pm. You really have to give them a direct no, otherwise theyll keep pursuing you. Its definitely a turn off. Its completely crazy that a hotel would sacrifice customer service to sell you something. I would not recommend.
Great location, beautiful room, great staff. Only down fall is parking. But we stayed parked and walked everywhere which was convenient.
Loved it amazing
Hotel is in heavy club/bar area, so it is very noisy at night. Room was good.
Super friendly staff!! Was in town for a bachelor party and they went out of their way to make sure the 12 of us had what we needed and made awesome recommendations. Would for sure stay there again. Everything we wanted to do was in walking distance as far as food and drinks.
Loved everything about this hotel. Location is great, right in the middle of the gas lamp 5 minutes away from little Italy. The room was very spacious and clean. Hotel staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Ring nice place to stay staff are very kind and considerate
Great experience on multiple visits. Always friendly.
Great location for bar hopping and the employees are all very nice and courteous. The room was ready for me several hours before check in time. Overall a great place to stay the night
The resort is in the Gaslamp District, in the middle of all the action, but it was relatively quiet for a good nights rest. The unit was beautiful and the staff amazingly friendly and helpful.Keep in mind that parking is a premium, so plan ahead if you want to find your own parking. The resort does have a parking valet service that is safe and convenient, but the current rate is $36 per night. Not too bad when you consider the alternatives.
Great place to stay for our first trip to San Diego... So enjoyed the Gas Light District & Harbor Walkway. Very Friendly Staff!!
I wanted to reserve a room for one night with family. The staff were very good and helping. Hotel is clean and decent.
We attended our yearly buy more points with our timeshare presentation. Katy and Casey were more friendly, pleasant, and knowledgeable than most. The laundry room here is free. They have nice bathrooms. Location ids great.
Great hotel in a perfect location. It is at the heart of downtown surrounded by nice restaurants and shops. Most city attractions are in a walking distance from the hotel. Valet is overpriced as many other hotels in this area, but you can use public parking at 1$ per hour or 15$ a day. Rooms are spacious and confortable. Staff is Very helpful and kind. Definitely a good option when staying in San Diego.
Very nice people, but they harass you on timeshare presentations. Its their job.
This was a very nice and clean resort in the heart of the Gas Light district downtown San Diego. All staff there were very helpful and informative.
Girls weekend. Hotel is great. Having the kitchen in the room was a huge time and money saver. The only drawback is the area of the Gaslamp that the hotel is located has become very sketchy. Lots of homeless all over the sidewalk and police sirens all night long.
The Resort is really nice and their staff was good. HOWEVER, the Valet saw us park our car across the street, upon or arrival on a Friday evening. He said NOTHING about the fact that All Parked Cars on this street between 10 PM and 5 AM will be Ticketed AND TOWED!!!We were there for a weekend conference. Come out Saturday morning and guess what ... our car was towed!!Total cost of the Tow $326 Ticket $48Between that unpleasant surprise and the multitude of homeless folks and their voluminous yelling Friday and Saturday evening, we would NOT stay at Harbor Lights Resort again. PS ... called the SDPD, and it was a Hell No on my calm request to reduce the cost of the Tow. They all but laughed out loud at another visitor who got trapped in their Towing Web.
