Love that this theater does a parent movie night! Its hard to make a morning one, but they do a night one! I have to say the staff was amazing. The gentleman at the concessions let me purchase tickets through him and the best part! He offered to carry my popcorn into the theater as I had my carrier/carseat and was going to have a hard time opening the door and carrying everything! Talk about awesome customer service and a great experience! Thank you for offering this and having a night showing!
Nice place to see a movie. They have all the latest releases to choose from.I really liked the big comfortable seats. The food selection was good and they serve beer and wine if you want it. Prices for movies were good and the snacks were reasonable. The place is right of the Hazard trolley stop so thats convenient.I would definitely make this my go to place for new movies.
I love this place! Theaters are always clean! One time I lost one of my belongings there and they were quick to help me find it after the show was over. Love you guys!
I am a disabled person and I had to go through the stairs to get down to the first floor. It was my first time. After the movie ended I discovered a way to walk out without using the stairs. Signs should be posted on every floor. I even took the elevator to the first floor and it took me to the parking inside. The cinema was hard to find. Not good.
Our go to movie theater. Easy access from parking garage. Friendly staff. Good menu. Good selection of beers and wine.
Pretty standard movie theater. Its got beers so thats the main selling point. Nice seats. Nice staff.
Great theater. Alex gives great customer service. Helped us out with a little confusion we had. Theater was great. Saw Sonic! Watch it!!!!
This theater is great. But the 4D seats are not as fun as youd think. Go with the normal seats. But the snacks are great and they offer alcohol.
Good hole in the wall if your looking for cheaper tickets, hidden between two neighboring AMC theaters. Food is decent, beer is plentiful, and seats are comfortable.Would recommend the loaded nachos!
Cheap tickets. Fairly standard expensive menu items, but slightly less than say AMC. Chairs are very large they give you plenty of room and are very comfortable. It’s usually not very crowded at all. They also show movies a day early sometimes which is nice. The staff is also awesome, they are all super friendly and helpful. I go here like every week, sometimes twice. Best theatre in San Diego if not all of Southern California.
My boyfriend and I love coming here. Its slightly less expensive on a normal day, and only $5 on Tuesdays. They have quite a few beer selections, and a popcorn card that is totally worth buying. We also like that the seats arent so crammed together like most other places. Minus 1 star, because the seats are starting to break down, they need to do some updating. I would be willing to pay a little more if it helped them fix a few things.
If their was an option for 100 stars Id choose that. Customer service was 110% from the time started at the window to the moment I left. My boys and I watched Godzilla... which the reviews all wrong... it was a great movie had me on the edge of my seat. #ImafanI wish I had gotten the names of the people who helped me. I showed up late to a 1:30 showing the staff had no problem allowing my family to see the 2:30 showing.. getting our refreshments easy smooth answered all my questions with ease and the other guy helped carry our snacks. I will always go their..... to really top off the experience.. 10$tickets before 4 .... fantastic experience thanks to the staff at ultra star cinema. .. Wednesday afternoon.
Great place for movie on Tuesdays. The chicken wrap was excellent! I shall return.
Good, lesser visited theater. Low cost tickets, underground free parking, and good food at not-too unreasonable prices.
Chicken strips are amazing. They have a buzzer system to let you know when your order is ready, highly recommend
Prices arent too bad. Seats are comfortable. No assigned seating and its not as crowded as other theaters in the area
Cheap films on Tuesday. Friendly staff and a convenient location. Dont get butter on your popcorn though!
Great customer service, very reasonable prices and their theater chairs are comfortable.
Easy underground parking. Great prices, comfy chairs. Not super fancy, but not so busy, was nice and quiet. Will def go back.
My favorite movie theater, nice staff, seats a comfy, they have $5 movies on Tuesday and a popcorn pass you can buy for the year.
Small nice staff with great comfy wide seats! Cheaper tix than AMC and big curved screens. Great popcorn (they have caramel popcorn too!) and icees
Covid safe
Definitely an older theatre, but one of my favorites. You can get meals as its also a mini restaurant. Selection is limited at times but they always have the most popular movies and sometimes indie films. Not as busy as other theatres. And its right under a Barnes & Noble!
Nice theater. Nice prices. Plenty of indoor parking, wheelchair accessible with an elevator. They have recliner seating. You can order tickets ahead of time. Clean friendly. If you dont want to drive you can take the trolley it stops right in front of the theater, easy access to all.
Relatively inexpensive and with the best seats I know of. They have a small selection of craft beers and some neat theatre snacks. Pulled pork nachos are my favorite!
They have a bar and real food on menu for adults to enjoy and 4D (big sits in the middle of the theater) movies ask how much and how it works is fun!
Great seating in cinema 4. Happy hour. $5 beers!
I love this place! Still reasonable ticket prices, a rarity these days. They have upgraded all their seats to comfy plush chairs. The staff is always incredibly kind and helpful, another rarity. And now they also serve beer and wine, at surprisingly reasonable prices. We get the popcorn card every year, $35 gets you popcorn for the year. Its the only movie theater I go to these days.
Great customer service... we held a Code 4 event everyone was happy
Always the easy theater, to get to by Trolley. Take Green line to Hazard Center stop. Walk across the street, you are there. They serve coffee, beer, wine, & the usuals. Tuesdays are the low price days.
Good prices, good food and groceries, good parking.Small theater.Best seats at center and from the midle to back are D-box, is supposed to be motion seats but with out that option on were very uncomfortable. As far as I know per 8 dollars extra you can enjoy the D- BOX seats so your movie ticket would be between 15 - 19
This is a great place to go see movies. The theatre is clean, the ticket prices are fair. The selection may be limited sometimes, because this theatre is rather small unfortunately, but they usually have a majority of the movies youd want to see.The prices run from $7 for the first site time. To $9 after the first and then $10 after 4pm.
Great hidden movie theaterWe will return again for more moviesLove that they serve alcohol
Good theater. Cheap tickets for SD. Great seats. Never over crowded.
Seating still hasnt changed. If you are under 55 and no one is sitting in the seat in front of you, you might be able to see the screen. The top of the chairs stop right were the bottom of the screen starts. I havent been here in years and forgot how bad the seating was. Basically theres no slope and if anyone sits in front of you, no matter how tall you are, you will not see most of the screen. Do not take children here, it will be impossible to view a movie. I have to give 5 ☆ for the customer service.
Best theater in SD. Where else can you find $5 movie tickets in 2019? So glad I found this place, tired of AMCs overpriced everything. Phenomenal service. One tip - dont pay for the bottomless popcorn / soda if youre seeing the last showing of the night, there will be no worker to refill it - found out the hard way. Support your local independent theater!
Good early bird ticket prices! Concessions was reasonable. Chairs comfy, movie looked great, and sound was awesome too!
I like thats is secluded and the seats are nice and comfortable. Cheap tickets
Love this theatre. Great quality digital projectors, comfy oversized seats that recline a bit, good concessions, beer and wine. Prices are good too. Highly recommend this place.
My favorite theater. Ever since its renovation, its been clean, comfortable, and Ive never had a problem getting tickets for new movies! They also have bomb pulled pork nachos.
Every Tuesday night the movies are 5 dollars. Comfy seats and good food. Love this theater it has great deals.
DBox should be used at least once in a lifetime! Great regular seats. Good concession prices and a variety of treats.
Really like these theaters. Low ticket prices plus you can invest in a popcorn card that gets you a regular popcorn for free. Also you can buy a reusable drink cup that gets you a refill for $1.50....all year long!
Low ticket prices and awesome atmosphere. I ND my friends love the nacho chicken thing. It was huge and tasted awesome.
Only come here for Asian film festivals. Its an older theater and no real reason to come here otherwise.
Nice theater. Very clean and well kept
Quirky little theater with small screens, good prices and I just like it.
Best chairs! Huge comfy recliner-type chairs. Less seats available...but that comfort...can’t beat it. Plus you can still put the armrest up for cuddling. Unfortunately, as a 5ft3 person- I can’t always completely see above the chair in front of me (unless I’m sitting up) because the theatres aren’t steep/angled.Definitely give this theatre a chance. It’s the best for long movies!!
A great place to catch a matinee, but like most theatrical places, the concessions are expensive.
This movie theater is a pretty good deal. Its one of the cheapest theaters I know of in the area. I like to go here when I want to save a few bucks as its only $11.The seats are pretty nice! They dont recline, but are plush and comfortable. The only thing I dont like about this theater is that its not stadium style seating. The theater is clean and the employees have always been pretty nice. They also serve alcohol here which is a plus!
Definitely probably one of the most underrated movie theaters. The concession is subpar but expected for a hidden movie theater. The seats are super comfortable and the service is just ok. I did enjoy my time here however because we saw a great flick and I feel is what a movie experience should be- get in and get out. Coming back for Avengers 4 :)
Love this theater! Ample room in the seats and reasonable prices from the concession stand to the tickets. Well worth going here for movies.
This is a good place to go to.Sundays for students (No matter the grade, just bring ID ... hint hint college students in your thirties or fourties...) there is a $15 one movie ticket and unending refillable popcorn and soda.Tuesdays are my favorite, $5 movie ticket. Then I buy a $6 kids popcorn pack; just enough popcorn to satisfy, a soda, and a fruity candy: nom.If you go all the time, and I keep forgetting to do this... get a $30 all year popcorn bucket, there is an all year soda cup as well, but I can not remember how much that is. Bring the bucket, get it filled. *Happy dance*Downside, they only serve pepsi products. :( :(But, they have craft beer, delicious paninis, and other tasty foods. I keep getting the Kevin Bacon, oh lordy! The seats are stadium, leather, couple seats... mostly reclining. But, the there are a couple random dead seats. :( Otherwise, no assigned seating, so... move to something that does recline. Generally there is a low attendance (when I go) that that is never an issue.Sound is pretty good, and picture never seems to have issue. (Framed nicely.)Not to forget the staff, they are super friendly and kind.I say, go! Maybe I will see you on Tuesday!
Idk Im a kid
Ultrastar got rid of their popcorn pass, making this an average at best theater, with the only real deal to be had on Tuesday for $5 ticket pricing.
I enjoy stopping at the is theater. There are three within a few miles including this one. This location tends to be a bit more reasonably priced and have more seating available. The theaters are a little smaller than other nearby spots, but they still have all the first run movies and plenty of show times! Amc loyalty accepted.
Excellent theater! Great staff!
Watching in the D-box seats is fun, just be sure you pick the right movie for the experience. Food is also good for both kids and adults.
Ticket price was 6 dollars. Seats are comfortable and theater was empty, just the way I like it.
Horrible experience! Yea seats were comfortable but concession was old and quite nasty. Go there for a viewing of the pet semetary and the projector (which was gasping all hour) gave out in the middle of the film (at the best part of the movie) then because of an Antiquated system in place for refunds, I stood in line for 15 minutes to get my money back only after having to fill out a form an provide my telephone number, no thanks. I’ll pay more in the future, where at least I know the projector isn’t 40 years old.
Excellent movie theater. Clean with reasonable prices. They have a student and military special sometime. This special includes popcorn, drink and a movie for only $15. You can buy tickets online and they are about 1/2 price compared to AMC or other theaters. They have a beer selection as well. If they could deliver the food to your seat I would give it a 5 Star
Amazing theater seats. They are leather and very cushioned. AND they recline. This theater also serves beer, wine, and decent food options. The price is also reasonable (compared to other theaters). There is no downside to this theater.
Best theatre- affordable tickets, affordable brews, affordable dinners even! The theatres have the large seats that are perfect for snuggles when the arms raise :)Staff is kind and helpful and they don’t get confrontational when I bring my blanket in like some theatres have. (I carry ice packs for my messed up knees that get stiff and a cozy blanket because I’m always cold, probably because I’m constantly icing my joints)
Best movie theater in town because their prices arent outrageous. Lots of extras too like the popcorn pass and rewards card.
Really like this inexpensive jewel. I was disappointed to go for the $5 Tues movie night ti find out my movie wasnt $5. It seemed everyone else new. They asked for a different movie and then headed to what we were watching. Not a fan of lying, my sould is worth more than $7. It just seems smarter for the theater to charge one price. Make it $7 movies and dont disappoint anyone.Just saying
This is my go-to movie theatre, hands down. The seats are spacious and comfortable. They serve adult beverages and even include a happy hour. The staff has always been very pleasant and accommodating. Parking is easy, even if it is a little tricky to find the entrance of the theatre. See your next movie here!
One of the cheaper theaters around. I really like coming here. The seats arent quite as great as Cineopolis, but they are still comfortable and recline a little. I like the options at the snack bar too. Pepsi products. The only theater Ive been too that serves that instead of coke. There is lots of parking available on a week night.
5$ Tuesday is the best. Good customer service too. Do not upgrade to the motion seats. A bit difficult to eat popcorn and your drink when it’s shaking like you are in the space shuttle on takeoff.
Cool relaxing place to catch a flick. Great seats.
Great prices, big comfy seats, no reservations though
This is my favorite theater in San Diego! The price is cheap and the seats are really comfortable faux leather recliners with lots of legroom. In addition, they serve beer and wine. The beer selection is small but local and well curated. I often enjoy a Modern Times Fortunate Islands with my movie. Highly recommend for a quality movie-going experience.
I prefer the smaller theater sizes of this venue though they have started to upsell these premium motion seats in some of the theaters that you have to buy. Effectively they charge extra the best seats in the venue and they are always empty. Sitting to one side or closer to the front is buffered by comfortable seats and the reasonably stocked bar (popular beers and wine)
Not the best place to see a movie, and not the worst.
DBOX is an awesome way to watch movies!!!! Comfortable seats, great prices nice atmosphere.
Great experience. Some of the seats have shown their wear. Decent selection of beers.
Comfortable seats, wine and beer and the usual movie theater fare.
This place is great. Plenty of parking, if you are a student I recommend paying the $15 for the student saver ticket.
They now offer food, wine, & Beer! Great seats with offer for 3D. For a Senior Citizen with no car, Ultra Star has been my Favorite, for years. Green Trolley takes me right there. $7 for first showing price is the BEST! $9 before 4pm. $11 after 4pm. Hazard Center has finally evolved. Go & browse & relax!
Cheapest place for movies, not bad, minimal searching.
Not clean, not comfortable, consessions are pricey, with not a lot of choices. It was reasonable to get in the door, thats the best thing I can say.
The new seating and the picture and sound were great. The biggest problem was that the floor was so incredibly sticky, it was disgusting. The seats are also fairly torn up for being reasonably new. But their prices are good and I will definitely return.
It is cool with box chair motion, and I love but unfortunately that their close caption device wont fit in. Disappointed however it is good place.
One of the more economical Multiplex Theater in San Diego. Plenty of parking. Seats are big & comfortable but some are older than in the big chain theater like AMC
Food is served fast enough just expect a wait thats worth it on pork pulled nachos. Drinks and local brews available here. Friendly staff and management. Not busy during the week. Large comfy chairs and I have always seen polite guests here. Good family place and handicap friendly. For tickets as low as $6 its awesome. 4 years I have been going here. My fav theater in town.
Huge seats! Not too crowded... I love this place! My favorite theater! Im not a tall person but this theaters luxury seating as well a beer and wine service along with the lowest prices in San Diego... Whats not to love!
This theater did not have some of the nice amenities of fancy, new theaters, such as fully reclining or reserved seats, but it was comfortable enough, relatively small (in a good way), and clean. We paid only $5 per ticket, so I was more than satisfied and would be happy to come here again.
Super comfortable seats, and decent prices. This is my favorite theatre.
My wife and I love to go to Ultra Cinema Hazard Center on Sunday mornings!
, This review is for a movie theatre. That has good customer service, decent food and drinks, really comfortable leather seats.
Nice, above average but not deluxe theater. Very comfortable seats and prices. Good staff; fun beers; good popcorn; shaded parking. Whats not to like?
Good place to see a movie if you want to avoid the crowds. Serves alcohol now and has very comfortable seats. Since the theater is under a parking structure it is never to hot inside. In the fall has films for the San Diego Asian Film Festival. First film of the day for each movie is priced at $7 even if after noon.
This place is like a hidden gem! The reclined seating is so comfortable! They have various specials throughout the week (student deals, happy hours) This place even has a bar and kitchen! Its fabulous! Best part: prices arent outrageous! $6-$10 for showing depending on time
Nice theatre with lot of parking even on holidays & weekends. Nice & friendly staff. Prices are more afforadble than other theatres near by.Having Discounted prices for morning & afternoon shows( highly appreciated).
Worst. Movie experience. Ever. First off, the good: Seats are really comfortable. Okay, the bad: Its directly under a gym. Throughout the entire movie youll hear and feel the THUMP THUMP THUMP of people running on the treadmill above you. Totally ruins the experience. Go to one of the other local theaters instead.
I really love this movie theater. It is mine and my boyfriends favorite in San Diego for many reasons. 1. First showing is $7.00 and two you can get a popcorn card. $35.00 and use it year round and get a regular sized popcorn to upgrade each time just pay $1. Also the seat are really nice and recline. No stadium seating but really no need. They serve alcohol and have D-Box seats (they move like a 4D movie)
