My favorite theater. I always go to whatever movie is in the Dolby theater the seats are so comfortable the sound system is amazing. Never had any problems with my tickets or anything. The popcorn at any AMC is always good especially when they give that extra butter and salt. I personally like it even more with the limited amount of people allowed in the theater as it pretty much feels like youre in there alone and just watching a movie on a really comfortable reclining chair. Couldnt be more pleased.
AMC @Mission Valley Mall always has a clean environment, great seating, and the latest movies . Not to mention the all day Tuesday, all movies for only $5 dollars- what a bargain (except Dolby, 3D, or IMAX those are $10 dollars on Tuesdays, but still a fantastic deal)!*You have to be a Stubs member to enjoy the discounted Tuesdays, but you can easily sign up for free online .
A good place to chill out with friends and colleagues. All or everything you want to watch was ready as expected. The most trustworthy place in my area. Ill be giving this movie house my 5 stars all the way. No hidden charges compared to others! I need to come back because its a good one. Great!
Went there last weekend. Pretty decent experience. Seats were comfortable, staff was nice, and food was fresh. Sounds nice, huh? Well not exactly... the bathroom was nasty. The floor about an inch high pool of pee, trash piling out of the garbage can, clogged toilets, grafitti on the inside of a stall.
Courteous and friendly as always. And now, because of the Covid-19, theyre also enforcing the social distancing guidelines. It felt good to be back in the theatre. I cant wait to see my next movie ️
Terrible experienceI was shocked how bad is to go to the cinema now.1. the auditorium smelled of mold. You had 6 months of empty theaters, you could spend it on service, clean and repairs.2. all the seats were terribly dirty, mine was still drenched in fresh sauce or ketchup.3. the seats are uncomfortable, the back begins to ache after 10 minutes.4. a small popcorn costs $9.5. asked for the smallest glass of drink got a regular size under the pretext that it was the smallest but there were small glasses at the bar where the drinks were poured. paid $5 and no refillsIf you are planning to go back to the business after pandemic this way - well good luck...
Went to my first movie since Covid. They had plenty of signage up, staff wearing masks. I didnt see anyone cleaning, but felt clean inside. Was disappointed in the quality of the food and drinks. Wasnt very busy but popcorn was cold and tasted old. The Icee machine wasnt working when I went in and they told me to come back. I did and it was working but tasted terrible. The seats in our theater were older and not comfortable, but spacing was good inside and it was a good experience.Overall I will go back again, hope they are just working out the kinks.
Doesnt accept cash. You will have to go to guest services and purchase a gift card. Its a great idea.
It was the first day re-opening, and it was GREAT!! I felt safe and comfortable, and, just happy to be back in a theater again. I hope they get to stay open.
Horrible. I wonder who’s in charge of this dump. Our imax projector wasn’t working, and it became a 40 min delay. They didn’t even offer any kind of compensation. Get it together.
Rating 4 star for the dolby theatre they have. Go check it out.
I love watching movies and the people there was amazing. They make you feel very welcomed.
Very nice place to watch a movie. I love the 4D theaters here as well. I saw 1917 there it was the perfect touch to fantastically shot film. I might have to say that this film is the best visually photographed film I have ever seen. I have never seen anything like it. Be warned that you feel a bit exhausted at first, but that is the point of this shooting method. I felt a little let down about the ending, but thats war. The theater provided everything you needed except for the dirt and a uniform.Become an A+ member to enjoy this movie experience anytime a great film comes out.
Good to be back at the movies! Tenet was awesome! Theater is safe!
The theaters are great but there was no one there!
Good covid protocol, clean and sanitation.
Me and my best friend went to see Weathering with You and it was one of the best movie experiences Ive had at this AMC. My first movie there was also an anime showing and they handled the film, light, and sound very well. I was also very pleased with how comfortable the seats were compared to the beautifully large screen. The movie experiences Ive had with this theater are ones I will continue to enjoy and I hope to make many more.
AMC Mission Valley 20 at the Westfield shopping mall is the place to see a movie. It is very clean, has all the usual concession drinks and snacks. The customer service is very helpful and quick to serve at the concession area. The seats are older and just tilt back a little, but they have higher head rests to help you relax and watch the show. The theaters are kept clean, I have never stepped or sat in anything sticky. They have a couple really large screen theaters that make the watching more fun. The other screens are fairly standard in size.If you want to take a break while shopping, then enjoy a show at AMC Mission Valley 20.
I havent been to this Amc20 Mission Valley theater in awhile. My experienced was disgusting. The seats were all stained with black spots. Seat was dirty and dusty. I was scratching and feeling uncomfortable from the seat. I am disappointed how corporate is allowing this issue to be ongoing. My experience in Fashion Valley AMC18 is far better. Ill never come back here again. What a waste of time and money. I highly recommend somewhere else but here.
Wish they had better seats. Overall theater is small, yet clean and always has a variety of movies showing. Havent had stale popcorn served to me yet. Check out the AMC Stubs rewards programs. Awesome stuff there.
Was an easy in to find parking. Saw 1917, theater was clean, the audience quiet, not a packed theater so viewing was enjoyable plus it was a great movie. We recommend seeing it
Screens are good, sound is well insulated, folks are attentive enough. This is one if my favorite theaters in San Diego. Based just on the quality of the viewing experience, it beats the pants off of Fashion Valley.Id had some questionable experiences with staff before, but some of the newer hires are putting in a real effort. I actually met Natalia, one of the managers, today and she was a real class act. Definitely made me reevaluate my opinions of the workers here. All in all, will definitely continue frequenting the place. Would come even more often if Westfield hadnt raised the prices of the electric car chargers to some pretty absurd levels.
Always a great place to watch a movie
Tickets were ludicrously expensive compared to movie theaters elsewhere. The movie was playing much too loud. The seats are less comfortable than airplane seats, if that can be imagined: they lean forward, with no reclining option, and youre touching shoulders with the person next to you the whole time. The movie I saw was great, I just really wish that I and my sore back and ears had gone somewhere else to see it.
The screens are nice and most of the staff is friendly. If you are a premium stubs member, you should expect to wait in line longer than the normal line most of the time as they seem to have more people tending that line. The theater has plenty of food options but sometimes hot items take upward of 20 to 30 minutes. If you plan on eating a hot item I would recommend you order ahead through the app.
This is a pretty decent theatre... It now has the Dolby Experience thingy, trying to show off a very deep black with that cute the projectors are still on phrase. But, its not very dark at all. Sadly. Its ok, seats are awesome as they recline ever so nicely. Also, can hardly ever go wrong with the Coke mixer dispensers. I always enjoy mixing my coke flavors: vanilla, cherry, dash of raspberry, spritz of lime, and topped off with regular coke. Makes for a happy fruity drink.
Super clean theaters with comfy seats. Great staff. Yummy popcorn. Whats not to like?
Standard movie theater experience. No complaints but also nothing to write home about. Im hoping this AMC steps up the seating. It was very uncomfortable.
Nice theater friendly staff.
Inside the mall. When you purchase a ticket, you get to select your seating. Go wander the mall, have a bite etc. until the movie starts. There are self serve kiosks next to the ticket hub if you want to avoid lines. Seating in regular rooms do not recline but are far enough apart to not have impaired views. There is a bar, food and normal cinema concessions.
Went to see a special preview screening of HARRIET. Have not been to this theater in a few years, and was pleasantly surprised at how roomy the seating was and how friendly the staff were. The movie should get the Best Picture Award this year and the theater definitely deserves 5 stars.
Unbelievable technology that puts you in the middle of the films action. Once youve experienced the reserved seating 3 D Omnimax Dolby you can never go back to regular theatres.
Great, as usual. The staff is great. The theaters Ive been in have been great. Its a great premier location.
Great place to see movies... reserved seating... wine is a little pricey but nice to have a drink and watch a movie... like being home
I am in my forties. Tonight on March 15 bartender, so called supervisor Robert and Lance backing up each other declined to sell draft beer simply becauce they decided that my expiring driver license not sufficient to proof my age that has been a proof for at least last 10 years. They all saw I am way beyond 21 but decided to play an odd role staying on a legal side, sort of cops, You have to exchange your DL. First time happens to me. No reasonable explanations. With this stubborn attitude four of us left to a different theater. You lost profits on beer, returned 4 movie tickets and in addition got this review. I wish AMC owners could see what personel they hire, but... Currently I am couple miles west in fashion valley AMC 18 writing this review while drinking the beer with my friends and watching Invisible man.
No complaints we saw the hustlers. The atmosphere was great, they havent converted to the new seating, but I prefer keeping things the way they are. They do have a bar though. We grabbed a beer and saw the show! The bartender was great!
I was told that every 2nd and 4th Saturday that AMC plays movies for children with special needs were the sound is lowered and the lights stay on! When i walked in with my son it was pitch black and loud as any other movie my son had an instant melt down he has autism if you are going to advertise this make sure your not misleading and let people know you only leave the side lights on smh!
I love the movie theater popcorn slurpees sodas prices are high look for alternative ways to get movie tickets
I would give 5 stars but the floors were really be sticky! Nice select of snacks and line was fast. No wait outside.
Great theater with upgraded seats. Easy walk from the train lots of good eats around.
This theatre is so hot. I was sweating the whole time watching my hero academia heroes rising. No recliner seats too. Not good at all.
This place is awesome. The employees really work hard to give good service at a timely manner. Bathroom and movie theater is alway clean. Food here is amazing. Bar alway has great friendly service.
Great theater, great service! Booked tickets online but made a mistake and came to this theater instead of amc18 but they allowed us to watch movie at this theater with reserved seats. Quality of sound was great, definitely coming back
This has got to be the worst movie concession stand staff ever. The slowest. Positive the help desk attendant woman (inside by the bar) is tremendously helpful and positive. The bartender is always awesome. But this place is meh.
LOVE THE PLACE, BUT IT CAN USE SOME NEW & MORE COMFORTABLE CHAIRS. ITS DEFINITELY TIME.
Excellent time! I truly LOVE seeing movies. Saw Zombieland:Double Tap & highly recommend it. Most sequels pale/are a big let down from the original but they did an awesome job
Saw here Joker in dolby atmos. Amazing sound and image quality. Definitely worth it. If you are tall person bring small pillow so you can put it under your head. The recliner seats not really long enough for comfortable seating of tall people.
Not to brag but Im an AMC stubs member. So I go religiously. Good spot for dates and family movies.
Its an ok theatre. Seats are old and not really comfortable. Sound was good and pictures too.
When I want to go to the movies in a theater...I come here...great popcorn and you control the BUTTER...now with grown up menu....
The theater we visit at least two times a week. Imax and Dolby screen and sound was good. Other digital screen also good compared with multiplex in San Diego especially the seat comfort and legroom.
Mission valley AMC is by far my favorite theater here in central SD. The theaters are pretty big (not all). Overall it’s spacious, centrally located and doesn’t sacrifice theater size for profit. Unlike AMC Fashion Valley, that theater has nothing but small screens it feels like. Plus! Parking is less of a hassle at mission valley than fashion valley.
Love the Dolby Cinema. Always try to catch a movie in that theater if I can.
Great movie going experience. Helpful staff and comfortable seating. Love to be able to reserve my seat in app
Highly HIGHLY recommended the Dolby screen in this theater... or any AMC theater that has it. The screen is huge, everybody gets a comfy recliner seat, the sound is excellent and loud. So loud that the seats shake from the bass. Most importantly the screen is super crisp. They have beautiful deep blacks and shine very bright and clear. Its my favorite screen to watch movies at right now. It used to be IMAX but Dolby takes the cake.
One of my favorite theaters. 20 screens, comfortable seats, friendly employees and good selection of snacks including good popcorn.
The theater was nice sound was amazing but it was Saturday night and a long line to buy tickets and yet they only have 2 windows open and one of those is dedicated to their VIP so therefore that left one window open to help this long line then you finally get in and the snack bar is the same story long line two windows open
Was great on customer service, the air smell of mold, maybe the theater could use a new carpet.
Clean and fun ...great seats that recline and a bar for adults and a premier line for snacks
The A-list premier deal is good if you see at least 2 movies a month. No restrictions. New releases, IMAX, all movies at AMC
Good theater with ample parking. Love the fact it has Dolby and Imax option.
One of my favorite places to catch a movie... Especially in the Dolby Theater
I was surprised what a madhouse it was on a Tuesday night. I paid for AMC premiere which has a special line for concessions That line was out the door and the regular line was quicker. Whats up that? I didnt have dinner so I thought Id get a hot dog. They were out of hot dogs. I got you my seat and there was trash on it. I looked on the row behind me and there was trash all over there too. Not the nicest experience.
Way way overpriced. Not worth anything you think you can get there. Wait till it comes out on Blu Ray. Them make your own kettle corn. Itll be a way better experience.
Last night my husband and I went there to see a movie that wasnt playing in any other AMC theater nearby and were thoroughly disgusted. The place is dirty and the seats look like they havent been cleaned since I worked there as a teenager 16 years ago!
I love the layout of this place, wish it was close to home, I would come more often.
The seats are terrible. $12 ticket, $16 for popcorn and a beverage. $28 for one person? They can install more comfortable seating.
If you sit at the top couple of rows of seats be ready to be hot and feeling like you cant breathe well, wanting more fresh air. Otherwise the seats are just the standard older style, kind of cramped but the armrests go up, so serviceable.
Saw Star Wars IX. Great experience at the Dolby Cinema. Am so spoiled now! Lol
Can’t reach them by phone. No hours of operation listed. Can’t locate the info on the website. Tried calling 3X. Tried using chat system and was directed to give name, phone and email. No Thanks! I don’t need my info sold out. I’m just trying to get an answer to a question. For the event on 9/25 movie Judy, do I need to be an AARP member or can I go with fellow members? I am a senior. Thank you.
Everything was great! Except the tickets booth staff. His super rude and not being helpful to us today. We watch the End game Avengers movie.the staff in tickets booth. He tell me We’re not supposed to go in line in premiere membership but My husband he doesn’t know his membership end yesterday. I understand what he means. My husband asking him if he can renew his membership. He ignored us. But the other lady work in ticket booth. She said inside. If we buy a popcorn there we can renew our membership. Both of them are black Americans.
This place is amazing. I went here with my friend I it was an amazing experience. The seats are the best thing ever so comfy and makes you feel all nice. It does get a little chilly but jackets can fix that. The food is priced really high but uts worth it when watching 2 hour movies. The movie I watched was Captain Marvel and I could not have loved a movie more. The experience was just all around wonderful.
We went and saw ready or not. The theater was clean. The price for a large soda was 6.99. I know movie studios take the ticket price and the concessions is how they make there money. I am more then happy to pay for good service and clean theraters.
Andrew at Guest Services was excellent. He was very helpful and genuinely interested in making our experience better. We had a problem with our tickets and he made it so we were able to see our movie at the time we wanted.
Have date night here every tuesday! Its great.
The theater is always clean, I only wish they had recliners. Ive never had a bad experience. We always buy the chicken tenders and a bucket of popcorn. Love this place.
I think they should charge half price for the popcorn 15 mins before they close especially if they are not popping fresh popcorn
After only thirty minutes of the movie, theater staff came into the auditorium and told me to leave. Apparently the tickets I got online were from someone elses account and the staff wouldnt even let me pay for another ticket they told me to leave.
Theater was nice. Like assigned seating. Popcorn was off, too hard, too many old maids.
Great sound system. Clean restrooms good expensive snacks. What else can I say.
Seats too small, when u pick seats, they are usually too close to screen. You take a chance when you change seats to higher level that someone else will sit there. We are going to try the theaters that have full reclining chairs now. Theaters too small to dictate where to sit. Who thought that up?
Ive been coming to this AMC theater for years now. Other than some small issues, (which were taken care of fairly quick, and with a desirable result) I generally enjoy my time here. And if you come here (or any AMC theater for that matter) as often as I do, i definitely recommend investing in the AMC premier stubs membership. Decent discounts, as well as front of line access!
First: We were very disappointed because the complete address in the apps is not right!!!!4 Stars for Dolby Cinema is awesome! But sitting in the last aisle to the top, Is NOT advisable because you cannot see the whole screen. I am 53, i can only see half of the screen if i will use the recliner...And if i dont use the recliner, i still need to stand a little bit to check down the whole screen. /Restroom was old and not clean. Doesnt matter if its old as long as the toilet is clean and have a complete rolls and sit paper... AMC Mission Valley 20 please change the right address in the Apps!
Been going for decades. Always a welcoming place with a group of helpful staff. Dolby theatre is our favorite ever!!!
This is my go-to neighborhood theater. Unlike Fashion Valley, this theater has both IMAX and Dolby (amazing sound and those cool seats that rumble). 20 screens means that most anything you’d want to see is playing there, including a few indie movies and interesting specialty features. Ample parking in the underground lot make getting there a breeze.
AMC theater watched jumanji dropped my phone inside the movie theater. AMC employees were so accommodating and help me find my phone..and got it.thanks to all the employees of AMC theater
If you enjoy experiencing movies in a quiet environment, this is not the place to go. I spoke with the staff over there, they don’t really care. Some people are rude and will get into the theater to pass time, and if there’s no security escorting them out when they start being annoying, they’ll keep doing it the entire duration of the movie.
Good sound, lots of options at the concession stand, including food and alcoholic beverages
Awesome theater! I got a chance to see Captain Marvel here with the family! Quick Rule of Thumb: Always go see the movie first, before dinner that way you have something to talk about at dinner lol the target is literally within walking distance so if you need to kill some time before your movie starts or have dinner after you can in the nearby eatery’s
AMC has reclining seats in some theaters. Also a full concession stand and bar.
It was very nice inside but the malls a little scetchy
This place walks crazy busy, and only had 1/5 th of the people needed to run the purchase lines, the entry line, the food lines. It was insane how long it took us to get an overpriced ticket, only to wait 5 times as long as Ive ever waited to buy seriously overpriced popcorn and soda. Ridiculous. I will NEVER BE BACK!
