Not for children but still awesome... perhaps because there were no children... ;)... The trail starts off well defined but slowly fades away as you hike up the canyon. It picks up in spots but there is a little bushwhacking in places. Sometimes its best to hike right on the bank of the stream. However, there are some sections of path on the north side that are reasonable. Make sure to check out the double A-frame rock pile, the treasure chest, and, if you want to keep going, the rock spire. (See pics). It can be difficult in places so come prepared. It started raining on me so I didnt make it as far as I wanted. When I go back Ill update this I suppose. Ill try to post my GPS waypoints too.
This is a great place to put your feet on the ground and lift them back up multiple times. Cant say anything about this trail but the trailhead is nice.
This is my favorite hike in the area. Not highly trafficked, with a breathtaking view. Its fun to do a little rock climbing, or explore off the trail a bit. Its certainly not an easy hike, and it gets chilly pretty quickly in the canyon.
Not crowded. Do not go alone. I read on a post on YouTube, that there are many animals bones in a cave like a 1/4 of a mile into the trail. They said that it is possible that a cougar has being killing this animals.
Bit sketchy to be honest, no parking lot, really tough trail but I ended up on top of squaw peak. Got a foot away from a rattlesnake, got stung in the armpit by a wasp.
Worn narrow trail with steep sections and goes in the stream bed after 1/4 mile
Ive lived next to this trail my whole life! Its really fun to go up there and relax, mayne because im a kid but this trail really isent that big, id recommend hiking up until the pines and there is a place u cam rest and theres a fire pit, this trail is very unknown to many, the entrance is a little small and kinda hard to tell, also its really fun if u go about halfway up and detour (north wards) and hike up to a ledge that has a great veiw!< the picture i posted. There is a few small spots along the trail where u could pitch a one or two person tent and have a fire, also there is a great few good climbing spots along the trail.
Nice to fly a kite on good days!
Beautiful scenery and awesome trails
I love this hidden Jem. I used to live in a cave on the North slope for about 3 months. As you go up the canyon take time to enjoy the views as you reach the pines. There is a large boulder here to rest on. Not far from there, there is a wonderful spire that is quite tall. Further up the canyon it splits the left goes to a high medow between the peaks. The right meanders through the aspens. It is a wonderful hike with breath taking scenery.
The trail was a little unclear at first but it was steep but a great view and cool adventure
This trail is small and quiet, but definitely rough. I would rate it medium in challenge.
A good hike that gains elevation on a narrow, ungroomed trail with nice views. Good for anyone over right years old.
Beautiful views.
Beautiful canyon. Moderate to advanced hike.
Fun trail for a day hike. Difficulty 5/5
Great place to visit!!!!!
Only person on the trail, cant beat that
