Windy, not usually too busy, and the views are always spectacular. People are usually friendly, and there are plenty of family crowds enjoying their time together. No outhouse facilities though, so limit a controlled water intake of you dont like the little ones being natural. The area is frequented at all hours but all types of adventurers so enjoy when you are! Just remember to be respectful, and yeh...we may even run into each other up there. :)
Beautiful views, accessible hiking trails, awesome place to catch the sunset - and its only minutes (half hour or less) from downtown Provo. Lots of places to picnic and explore. No restrooms. There are make-shift fire pits (dont burn plastic there!) At the moment you can see 4 LDS temples from the main parking lot - 6 by 2023.
The view up here is INCREDIBLE! Take some amazing pictures (tripod optional), make memories, enjoy nature sounds. We brought a little breakfast up with us as well and that was way fun to enjoy on top of the mountain.
If you bring a kite here you could probably get towed out to Utah Lake on a windy day. Saw a dude with a broken foot painting the sunset with his girlfriend. It was a tender moment worthy of the 5 stars.
We went up for a photo shoot with three dogs we had a nice easy walk up into the meadow but we decided to shoot in. Had a great shoot lots of space not too many people hanging around everything looked fantastic
Awesome bike ride. Watch for cars on the descent.
Beautiful views. Paved roads all the way to the overlook. Several hiking trails start at the overlook as well. Only room for about 15-20 cars to park. Normally thats not a problem.
Great place for a scenic getaway! The drive up is nice too.
Beautiful spot overlooking Utah Valley. Nice, winding road to the overlook is paved and well maintained. Parking is somewhat limited, so consider this on weekends and especially summer holidays.
Lots of trash, but a great location for a spectacular view. Lots of room for parking and easily accessible for any vehicle as long as weather permits. The road actually shuts down for winter and opens again in spring. Even in the winter, you can hike up here for even more unique shots cause nobody is around.
A beautiful view over Utah Valley.
We arrived at sunset so we got some very nice pictures from up there
Squaw peak is my favorite place to go to gather my thoughts and to just enjoy the beauty
Real Nice views, too many ppl tho
I love the squaw peak overlook! I hiked it from the overlook parking area to the top of squaw peak with my dad a few weeks ago. It was so fun and great to add it to my list of sumitted mountains!
Just Breathe taking View over Utah County and looking into Salt Lake County into Herriman and West Jordan. Can also see Copper Hills and the Mine.
Good place to watch the sunset and make out!
No amenities, and parking is full about half the time, but the view is absolutely worth the inconvenience. This is the best easy to access place in Utah County to watch the sunset from. Bring a date.
Beautiful view. Lots of options trail wise.
Great overlook. Has a bunch of great trails leading to and from the parking lot. Unfortunately, people seem to think the road and parking are a trash cans. The road going there is a bit dicey. Lots of tight curves with fast drivers.
If you want an amazing place to watch the sunset, look out on the city, or just get out of town for a bit; this is a great place to go to!
This is a great spot to spend time with your family or loved ones to go hiking theyve got all different types of levels from beginner to intermediate unlove you blow as if all the stress is left down in the city and you just went to heaven
Amazing lookout as always! Especially with the fall leaves. Close by and easy to get to.
Beautiful view, just turn your headlights off at night please!
Pretty busy in fall, but always a breathtaking view.
Best bang-for-your-buck road bike ride around. The last kicker before the parking lot makes sure you earn the view.
Nice view...not much parking
Beautiful location to see a great sunset, can be pretty busy, especially on holidays
Love this hike
Good golfing nice police man
Lived here for 40 years, had driven by it at least a 100 times. What a view!!!!!
Nice drive and nice view. Great hiking too!
Scarry claimb but worth it
Awesome lookout and hiking trail just super crowded especially at night.
Absolutely beautiful!!
We were hoping to get to the overlook for complete darkness and great views of the stars, what we got was fantastic views of the cities below!!
A beautiful place with a moderate, albeit ominous, hiking trail. I carried a two year old on my shoulders ankle my three year old and six year old walked it with me. Started to admire and it was wonderful.
Great view, great fall colors
Great view of the lake and Orem/Provo. The sunset over the mountains is really something
Amazing views
So pretty!!
Always packed with dreamers
Best view after a hard road ride to the top.
Its a great drive the ends in an amazing view!
Amazing views and almost always windy.
Amazing natural place
Always love the view from up here
Great drive up!
Love the view! Breathtaking
I LOVE Squaw Peak! The view of the valley is gorgeous, and it always leaves me feeling better about life. The drive up is exciting, since the roads are a little narrow, and the drop-off on the side of the road is rather steep, but I love it.
Its a beautiful view of Utah County. It does get a bit busy, but thats cause the view is second to none. The way up is a steep drive with lots of sharp curves, so be careful!
Wow. Stunning stunning view, even halfway up.
Excellent overview of the valley. A lot of parking space.
Perfect spot for a date! This location has a beautiful view that is worth the drive. Fyi the drive at night is a bit scary so drive slowly if you need to.
It has a glorious view and the hike was great!!! Loved the experience!!
The overlook offers a great view of Utah Valley with requiring a long, strenuous hike. There is some trash around and there is not much shade, but it is still a nice destination. Personally, I think it is an excellent picnic location.
Beautiful day!
The drive is very curvy to get up there but the view is well worth it! We went on a nice hike with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! Wouldnt recommend our hike for young children.... But the overlook area where all the cars are parked is family friendly!
Terrifying!!! But absolutely awesome!
Really rather crowded all days and nights of the week, a bigger parking lot would be appreciated. Free place to visit. Its an amazing lookout, and the drive up is scenic.
A great place for your IG
Amazing views of Utah County. Check this out its very cool.
Beautiful views, but scary at the top and the drive is a little scary too. If youre not afraid of heights go check k it out!!
Great vantage point.
Nice view and stuff I’d go at night. The road there is rough so make sure your brakes work. Only real downside is that it’s a popular place so a lot of other people to share the space with
Great View!
The road is amazing! Photo-op stops every 2-3 miles! Super worth it form the Provo area. Allow a good hour or three, or tour it on a motorcycle.Horse camping & lots to see in the area.
One of the most beautiful lookout views in Utah!! The backdrop of Utah Lake past the valley is amazing. Bring mosquito spray!
Just was really cool
Fantastic view. Roads can be a little tricky. Probably need to be resurfaced soon. Lines are faded so be careful with your speed. You never know who might be zooming around that next corner. If you are looking for solitude, perhaps some place a little farther out would be a better choice. This is quite the popular spot.
Litter abounds from dirty diapers to broken glass bit the view is spectacular!!!
Amazing views of Provo canyon and the entire valley. Sunsets are stunning!
Beautiful Utah Valley view
A great view for the minimal effort to get there! Extra pretty in late September.
Gorgeous scenery.
We drove from Hobble Creek to the Squaw Peak look out. Beautiful view and easy to get too from Provo Canyon
It is pretty difficult to beat the view of Utah Valley from here with how easy it is to get here. A short drive up to the parking lot and spectacular views. Hiking trail provides a pleasant hike. There is a campground further up a road that is dirt and rock. Beautiful in any season. Popular but not usually crowded.
Awesome overlook of the cities. Went in September 2018 with my mom-in-law, and just when the leaves were changing. Absolutely beautiful area. Highly recommend going there in good weather. The road is quite curvy though so be careful and drive slow.
I love this overlook. The view here is incredible.
Beautiful place to see the sunset
It is SO beautiful here... You can see forever... Its peaceful and Serene.
The view is amazing!
Great view but half of the trail is shutdown in the winter
So Beautiful!
A little cold this time of the year. Make sure you bring blankets. Also, choose nights that are clear. If you make it up early enough before sundown, you can get good pickings for a nice sunset too! Great for more serious relationships as well.A new favorite for sure.
Beautiful overlook of utah state reservoir. Sunset was breathe taking. On the way to bridal veil falls when driving from provo take a right towards the squaw peak overlook. Instructions and signs are placed on the way and are very clear and helpful. Saw a few trails on the way but did not try . All in all a perfect place to visit on lazy sunday afternoon
Beautiful view, I can understand why it has the reputation for being a good place to make out. The road leading up to it is pretty sketch so dont drink and drive kids
Squaw peak visit with my lady abroad. It was a bit chilly, but such a beautiful night. Road the motorcycle up, it was pretty spectacular.
Great views overlooking Provo. Not usually too busy and the drive is nice. Theres a hiking trail up there too if you feel like taking an easy hike. Great for sun sets and getting away from the city for a moment.
Great scenic view. Close to town and definitely a must whether a local or visitor.
Absolutely a phenomenal view of Utah County
Breathtaking!
