I hesitate to review this place because its so wonderful! Lots of big catfish and lots of ducks and lots of fun! Love it in the summer especially. 30 miles of lake makes for plenty of solitude right in urban Utah county.

Gorgeous state park with beach access and a campground. The campsites have covered picnic areas, there is also a paved path around the park. It has wheelchair access to the beach! I wish our state would do this. Saw the most spectacular lightning storm here. The vuews are just beautiful!

Its not swim able because its too dirty to do so, but its a great place to picnic or barbecue. There are fire rings and pits too. In the winter time, you can walk onto the ice but make sure its thick enough to support your body weight.

It’s a pretty harbor and boat dock there is so much you can do. They have little stands to do barbecues, little sandy beach areas, handicap access, long term boat storage. River fishing lake fishing. It’s a lot of fun. There is a lot of trash left by the lake, that’s why I give 4 stars. Also the water lake isn’t exactly pristine but it’s the bottom of the watershed so that is somewhat expected. But I do spend a lot of time here. I think it’s set up well

Warmer than most lakes, since it is so shallow. The beach area is decent, the water is shallow, so kids can go quite a ways out.Plenty of shaded picnic tables. And lots of places to fish.

I enjoyed it so much! Pets are allowed to go camping, boating, etc. with you as long as they have a leash on. Everything is so accessable and right next to each other. The bathrooms are cleaner than any other campsite bathroom Ive been to and the showers run pretty warm! The biggest and pretty much only problem I had with this park is the fact that there is hardly any shade at the campsite. It was blazing hot and barely any space for shade. So if you are planning a camping trip, make sure extra shade like a canopy. Despite the dry heat, my overall experience was great! I definitely would recommend Utah Lake State Park to family and friends!

Rolled in early afternoon 8-19-2020. Went for a stroll, attacked by bugs. The marina is not open for swimming. There is no access to the water from campgrounds. Cigarette butts all over. And hottest camp ground yet. To bad they dont care more for the property could be a diamond in the rough. State parks are usually memorable at least in Washington State. Will not visit again. Sad to say, needs updating. Weeds so bad dogs could not walk.

I got stuck in traffic on the way down from Salt Lake to get to maintenance for my decontamination certificate and my plug and play fat sacs and although their phone recording said they close at 6 and last appointment is 5:30, I figured I’d see if they could help me out and they were awesome. I got there just after they closed and the young man and young woman were super helpful and took care of me. I’m truly thankful for their help. Saved me another trip. MUCH APPRECIATED!!! Thanks guys.Definition of customer service. It would have been so easy for them to say “sorry we’re closed” like so many employees would do/(especially with covid going on).Their response wasn’t that— instead both workers asked “how can I help you”? And they both meant it. And they both exceeded my expectations.

What a beautiful place!!! The sunsets are amazing here as you can see in my pictures. Hearing the water crashing against the rocks reminds me of the beaches back home in California. We came here to do some night fishing and I absolutely fell in love with it here. I’ll definitely be coming here more often to fish and enjoy these sights and sounds. The only negative is all the damn Mosquitoes but hey, what can you do about it? Bug spray & cover up is about it hahaha. Definitely a place to come relax, sight see and fish. I’ll definitely be back more frequently from now on. Parking is only $10 so that’s not bad at all.

Great little beach. Would be even greater if people didnt leave their trash on it. Water/electric rv hookups available with dump site nearby. Good distance between spots, but large group across from us on our last night were pretty loud and chainsmoky. Gorgeous views of lake and mountains. A playground would be a welcome addition, but kiddo still had a great time!

Can’t say it doesn’t look gross but that’s good for me. Turn all the people that are afraid of the water away. Great place to boat late fall and early summer before the algae comes. The lake is not gross and if your comparing it to the blue waters of other lakes then yes it doesn’t compare. But if you’ve ever boated back East or south where the water is more gross looking then you’d understand the color of the water don’t matter much. Ps I still wouldn’t drink it. Hahahah

I have lived by Utah Lake for 30 years and have never really impressed by anything they do. Today we drove in for a few minutes to take a picture by the lake and we’re stopped by a for a stranger who very rudely told me that I need to get a permit to park when I apologized he said That’s what everyone says and that’s a common story. I really hate going to a state park and the beautiful land that I live in and being accused of being a criminal while trying to take advantage of the scenery. I’d like to also mention the park is completely empty.I would definitely feel more inclined to pay if I saw even a single dollar of that taking care of things here at Utah Lake. It has consistently been one of the grossest lakes I’ve ever been to is never kept up very well . It is looked the exact same for the last 30 years. The water is disgusting, the docs look like some of them are falling apart, and there seems to always be garbage around on the ground. The lines in the road are worn off and there’s nothing here to write home about.Having the officer run around playing gotcha with all the cars who didn’t pay must’ve gave him quite a satisfaction. It would’ve made a lot more sense for him just to sit in the booth at the front and ask for payment as people came in instead of running around and surprising everyone making them feel absolutely horrible. Get your act together!I went and bought my day pass even though we’re only going to be here for about 20 minutes and it cost me five dollars. Please Utah lake take those five dollars and put some kind of maintenance into your lake.

Not the prettiest area, not the clearest or cleanest water, but they do have a really big marina thats sheltered. Plenty of space to take kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and more around in. For the boats with motors - which we did not do - theres tons of boat ramps and docks so theres no waiting, theres always a place to get in or out. Location is excellent with how close it is to Provo and Orem cities!

The showers last time were the worst kind of dirty, garbage in corners. This time showers are cleaner but the shower head is missing. Clueless on the lake but this winter light show was spectacular! Worth the $30 ticket price and having refreshments ready at the start was perfect! We each got a large hot chocolate to keep us warm. Most crawled into the back of the truck to enjoy the lights so we keep our windows open so they had the music that goes with the light show. We are already talking about coming out again next year just so we can do the light show!

If you want to swim in Utah lake I would suggest that you look up what months of the year that is allowed, as it is poisonous most of the time. Here at the state park you can swim, fish, camp, jet ski and do other water activities. I prefer to go on walks to the right of the park on the paved trail, this is also great to take your family on a bike ride. However the park is only worth it, if you will do watersports. Otherwise I would suggest to access Utah lake from one of the other beach areas. But that is my personal preference.

Been visiting here since I was a boy back in the 80s. Seen it change a lot, some good some bad. But in general a good place to go with family, or alone to fish, boat or have a picnic. Bugs can be annoying, but use candles, or spray. I wish people would clean up after themselves! Utah lake does well at keeping up with maintenance. I buy a yearly pass.
