Gorgeous scenic drive, fall colors, and springs! Lots of opportunities for pictures and meditation. Packed with vehicles / crowds on fall weekends, especially with the lower parking lot closed for construction so maybe plan for a weekday. Thankful for restrooms! Out of the 200+ people we encountered on the paths only 10 wore masks... not enough room for social distancing with this many people even outside. Worth the drive, and all my kids were able to do the hike no problem!
The natural beauty here is peaceful and serene. The autumn colors make it more so. The road is newly paved and improved. The drive here is just as beautiful. Plan on walking just over a mile with slight inclines. Stroller friendly. No picnics allowed. Vault toilets at parking. I did have cell service. It is worthwhile to plan a leisure visit at a time with fewer crowds.
I wish I wouldve taken pictures of the place cause it was breath taking. A little bit of a hike down from the upper parking lot. I would suggest the lower parking lot. Looped trails go all around the whole area. Dont forget about the payment for day use. I will be going back and remembering my camera this time!
Cascade springs is one of my families favorite outings. There is something for everyone and the trails are all paved. My 4 yr old loves the bridge with the little falls. You can spend 30 min to an hour here. You can also drive the alpine loop which is very scenic.
Beautiful springs and wetlands. Have always enjoyed the trip and very short and easy hikes. This trip was unusually busy with quite a few people. Parking lots were full. Even several years ago you would be lucky to see three or four cars of people on many trips.
Pretty drive up the canyon. Cascade springs is a unique place. The boardwalks and waterfalls or fun to see. It was a bit crowded, but not terrible.
Now that the road from Midway is open it makes for a quicker rider...though expect some delays as the continue to work on some details. The spring is awesome. This is a wonderful walk for families. My boys wanted to read each sign.
Peaceful, beautiful. We went to see the fall colors and will try to go again before it closes for the season. Its worth it even just for the drive up.
It is quite a pretty natural spring with nice open trails and signage explaining different areas and such. It does have restrooms too. A new paved access road is a pleasant upgrade. Below the park is a dirt road that follows the steam for about 4 miles. Nice sceans of the crystal clear stream and fish. Access is a bit rough but accessable with a 2 wheel drive if your careful. Worth an afternoon with the kids .
Cascade Springs was beautiful! Loved all the changing colors of leaves and perfect weather. It was busy and parking was limited because the lower parking lot was closed. The pathways and facilities have been well maintained.
Great little walking trail around some if natures finest views. Highly recommend going in early fall to catch the change of color in the leaves. Restrooms are available but would recommend going to the bathroom before going up the canyon. Otherwise bring sanitizer.
Beautiful place. Especially during the fall. The alpine loop road is narrow. Dont drive here from AF canyon if you are not a confident and good driver.
This is an interesting place. A good sized flow of water comes out of the mountain all in one place. It is a well maintained place with a paved trail everywhere and bathrooms.
Love to go here and take the kids. Great place to get away and only a few minutes up the canyon
We came in Fall and enjoyed incredible scenery. I plan to return in Springtime to enjoy a more verdant flora.
Love this park. I had the pleasure of visiting along with a religious group, as well as my now husband. I found it so peaceful, other than the crowds of people. If you can manage a visit while there are few people it would be such a fulfilling experience spiritually. Youll enjoy the relaxing beauty of slowly rushing water, which I always find good for the soul.
My favorite place to visit in the fall time! Its so beautiful, and Ive heard that its also beautiful in the spring time with the wildflowers.
Great place to learn a little about natural spring waters and the life immediately around it. Theres plenty of informative signage and photo ops.
Holy crowded! You could barely walk around with out bumping someone. The area itself is still great, gorgeous, awesome to see.
Its finally open one of my favorite springs in Utah. Gorgeous drive with the fall colors in bloom.
Such a beautiful place. Nice place for an afternoon walk or pack a thermos during fall and have some hot cider!
Super great walk and very pretty and relaxing
Ive loved coming to this beautiful place since I was a little boy on my dads motorcycle, and now I get to bring my wife and (soon to be two) kid to the same place.
Cascade springs is always beautiful. But fall is very crowded. Both parking lots were completely full today.
So beautiful and peaceful there. Although, dont go there because Id rather have it just be my spot
Perfect for kids! Paved hike with a small stream and bridge for kids to play at. Upper enterence to trail starts downhill to the stream.
The fall colors are beginning to show. You still cant get to the lower parking lot but it isnt too far to walk from the upper parking lot to the springs.
A fun, meandering hike with sunshine and shade. Easy for kids and full of variety. Walkways, Bridges, educational signage, wildlife, etc. The lower parking lot was under construction, so we couldnt park at the bottom, but we are looking forward to seeing what improvements are made there.
Enchanting pathways, clear peaceful streams. Clean refreshing air.
One of my favorite stop in places for a relaxing beautiful walk!
Very pretty! Easy hiking. Very popular.
Great place to go on a walk with family or friends with beautiful views of mountains and a stream following the path
Its a beautiful spot off the beaten path. Great for a day trip with the family. Well maintained. Easy to walk around and enjoy.
Very pretty but some of the pools are more swampy than “cascading”
Beautiful, easy walk. Fall colors are spectacular
Such a beautiful place! Definitely wade through the traffic to get to cascade springs and go the extra walk to the lower springs, thats where the magic is. If you get there around 4pm the sun is just right for some great pictures.
Absolutly peaceful place. Just make sure you pay for parking or else you might get a citation. Its 6 bucks to park. Kid friendly place. Sundays are busy. During the week is better. Also, some parts of the path have benches for sitting. The whole path is paved. It is pretty flat except for most places. Someone who is could do it no problem.
Every year we go up there. Its really beautiful. This year lower entrance was closed because of construction. You need to park your vehicle at upper side where there is paved trail 1/3 of mile which take you down to the spring. Its really beautiful when fall color is there. Also good for taking pictures.
Breath taking beauty and full of life! A wonderful short drive from the busy Wasatch front that holds many discoveries.
Beautiful! The newly paved road all the way to Heber makes for a smooth ride!
Always an enjoyable place to spend an hour or so. Tends to get crowded on weekends.
Great short nature walk for all skill levels. Springs were beautiful.
Awesome views and worth the drive I highly recommend it
Cascade Springs is a great getaway. The drive to get here is beautiful and the springs dont disappoint. Very picturesque. Im sad they are paving the road to Heber. That means increased traffic and wear and tear on this treasure.
Great place for a quick and easy but beautiful hike.
I hadnt been here in YEARS, so when family suggested we go, we went. The total walking distance was quite a bit shorter than I remembered (probably because Im not a kid anymore!) but the scenery -- both as youre driving there and as you walk -- is really beautiful. I cant comment on the restroom situation other than to say there is one. I dont love remote restrooms in general, so I opted to not use it.
Beautiful fall scenery.
You get surprisingly good phone service on top of the ridge. Roads are a bit sketchy if you have a low suspension, but we made it up in a hatchback once--just dont recommend it.Views are beautiful, here and on the drive in, especially in the fall.
Beautiful place. The constructions just about done.
Plenty of water flow even in late summer, early fall
Breathtaking. The fall leaves did not disappoint.
Gorgeous as always. The people are rude and disrespectful of others and the environment... as always
Beautiful spot, tucked away of the Alpine Loop in American Fork Canyon. Easily accessible. Best to go weekdays to avoid crowds.
Fun walking around seeing the water and bugs
This is a great place to take the family and unwind. There are small trails that lead you through rivers and mini waterfalls. Its got gorgeous scenery and a clean environment. Whole theres a lot of walking involved its a simple hike that any age could participate and plenty of spaces to stop and sit for a bit. Plus there are multiple loops so you can take a small loop or do the full thing.
Beautiful area for a quick stroll. Lots of photo ops. Enjoy a walk along paved walkways, wooden docks a bridges. Lots of shade and places to sit. Be sure to wear sunscreen! And of course expect bugs as there is a lot of water.
Beautiful fall colors.
Been trying to get up there for almost 2 years now. Website is a lie, says its open and even has a calendar with all these events planned but the roads are all completely blocked off. Im done trying. If the people who run it are going to straight up lie and waste my gas then its not even worth the energy to try.
The drive to Cascade Springs is quite scenic from either Provo or American Fork canyons. The spring itself has paved trails, wooden bridges and walkways, facilitating easy access for everyone. Remember to protect the natural habitat by staying on the trails. I recommend using the lower parking lot (currently closed as of writing this for construction). There is limited access down to Midway during construction. Right now is a great time to go with the contrast of snow on the peaks in the background.
Drove all the way here from Davis County on Memorial Day. For nothing. Roads closed. Can’t get near it. Nice! Says it’s open on the WEBSITE. Grrrr! Been trying to revisit for 4 decades.
The fall colors are exceptional here!
Great shot to visit in the fall. Tree colors are spectacular!
Beautiful place, nice and easy walk around. It would be great for kids and family time. It is a bit of a distance no matter which way youre coming on the Alpine Loop, but lovely.
Great place for families to explorer and learn.
Such a beautiful place. Wheelchair accessible. The road from Midway is closed right now 9/19, so you have to access it from above.
First time here was during the fall, and oh my it was so beautiful I had to go two more times!! Easy path to walk (you can bring strollers), with cozy little romantic spots. There were families and couples taking pictures all along the path, and it was perfect.Beware: if you go through the back way (soldiers hollow and midway), it’s ALL a dirt/rough road!
It is a little ways up the canyon but i wasnt sure whether to park in the upper parking lot or the lower parking lot. Luckily i chose the right one for me. The lower parking lot had the better bathrooms and a more scenic trail. The parking lot is a lot smaller though so it could fill up faster but almost noone was there when i went. There are lots of mosquitos but i didnt get bit once. There is a marsh smell because of the lack of water flow in the ponds but that goes away quickly once you start walking. I definitely recommend walking to the second bridge it is gorgeous. I would definitely come again. Easy short walk even with kids. B-A-U-T-full!!!
This interesting geologic park is off the beaten path. It has interesting boardwalks through the property and well placed signs. Someone really liked making the signs. They are very thorough and say things like, this is the most beautiful flower and if you touch this plant you will need to go to the hospital. There was evidently a fire a few years ago and there is a info sign that tells about it.There was no drinking water available when I went though it seems it may be available at other times according to the signs. It was nice but once was enough.
Absolutely breathtaking when the fall colours are present.
It was beautiful great place to go with family
It is so peaceful & beautiful at Cascade Springs! We saw a few deer during our visit & hike around the springs!
Just two stars because Road to Cascade Springs is closed. It was looking like a nice drive ahead in forest area but we were not lucky. Ended up visiting deer creek park
Lovely place for a stroll and got some pictures on the bridge.
Way over crowed.Bathrooms smelled had no toilet paper.I wouldnt recommend this place anymore
Easy hike with great scenery and educational stops along the path for the kids to learn interesting facts about the area. This is a great place to go during the week and closer to sunset for great photo opportunities. The main trail is paved, the steep inclines have stairs, and there are benches all throughout the trail so this is an easy little hike for just about anyone.
Breathtaking place.
Road should be open. Great place to visit.
Cascade Springs Road Still closed 3 Aug 2020. There is access via Snake Creek USFS 085 to Cummings Parkway USFS 317 to Little Deer Creek Camp Road
Never ever disappoints. A remarkable place to visit.
Beautiful, peaceful, great place for anyone. We have young kids and they had a blast. Highly recommend!
Beautiful place to just get away with family or just need a place to be in nature. Beautiful all year round. Will be going back for years to come.
Used to have a bunch of fish in the springs. Water is really low. Still a beautiful place to visit.
Easy hike. Stroller accessible. Very beautiful and peaceful. Will definitely like to visit again.
Most beautiful place. A natural aquifer that has most beautiful waterfalls that run over plateaus that are just amazing. The water is crystal clear and the sounds are beautiful to listen to. There is a parking lot and restrooms at the site. Theres a dirt road to the location as well as a paved road from Sundance Mountain Resort. I plan to go back to do a picnic and spend more time at this beautiful location.
The Cascade Springs are a nice place to visit. It is peaceful with plenty of variety in plant life and animals (but you have to watch carefully to see the animals). On this visit we saw several wild turkeys and some ruffed grouse.I gave it 4 stars because construction wont allow driving to the lower parking lot which means you will have a moderate walk from the upper parking lot to the springs. Also, there are usually two way to get to the Springs by car. The primary route is the Alpine Loop road that can be accessed from Provo Canyon (take the Sundance turnoff) or from American Fork Canyon. From both directions the road is initially well maintained. Eventually it turns into a paved mountain road which a winding road with a fair number of blind corners and barely enough room to get two vehicles through at once in several sections. The turnoff for Cascade Springs is clearly marked. There is another access that goes over the ridge east of the springs and ends up on the road between Charleston and Midway, quite close to Soldier Hollow. This road has been a typical gravelled mountain road but is currently being upgraded and is inaccessible. The road construction is the reason it is not possible to drive to the lower parking lot at the Springs.
Great place to take your kids, non-strenuous hike, great scenery, the springs are scenic and captivating, any time of the year.
Its a bit of a drive to get to, so plan on having something enjoyable to listen to on the road, but once youre there its great. The hike is nice and easy and the springs are just really gorgeous. You walk up through some bushes and suddenly there is a riverbed with water seeping from the ground, as though rivers just spontaneously sprout from the earth. The spread of locations water springs makes it really cool. At the loop of the hike there are walkways that take you over the pools and its incredibly picturesque.
Beautiful area for a relaxing walk that passes by multiple flows of water!
Its a cool place and a fun place to take your kids.
Lower parking area is closed right now but we parked in the upper parking lot and took a nice little hike to the springs. Definitely worth it! So beautiful and the weather was perfect!
