This place was amazing! Great staff. We had a really fun guy but I cant remember his name! He was really accommodating to our party. He also helped us figure out place to go out at because we were out of town. The Axe throwing is a way safer than you imagined. The first round is scary but then you get use to it.

It was a lot of fun. It was my first time, although I never got good at it, it was still a great time. I cant remember the two guys who helped my group, but they were awesome, and funny. They kept helping me all the way to the end. I will definitely be back, Im going to get the hang of this.

Had a large group here for a gathering. Staff was great. Well-organized from start to finish. Everyone had a blast. BYO which is perfect. My only critique is the lack of surrounding bars/restaurants but hopefully this changes soon. A great spot for an event.

Jimmy was our coach, and he was super helpful, a great teacher, focused on safety and success, and made everything fun! I would highly recommend coming here for an amazing time.

I brought a group of 10 from work and we had a blast. We did the 2 hour group package that provided training and a competition. They had a fridge for the beer we brought, allowed us to bring in pizza from just up the street, and we had a blast....and...I won.

Came out on a company trip for friendly competition. It was however more fun than I was anticipating. The staff was wonderful and did a great job coaching everyone. Came here for a work function about 6 months ago and had a great time. Brought my family back this past weekend and had even a better time. The place and concept are cool but so is the staff!

Went for the free throwing event they had and it was perfect our coach was amazing they provide a fridge for you to bring beer and keep it cold. I definitely would go again its perfect and you can draw on the furniture so dont forget your sharpie lol

We had a Bachelorette party of 6 people and had a great time! On line reservations were easy and our coach was awesome! He was a lot of fun but also gave great tips throughout. We werent rushed and the time was filled with a ton of fun and nonstop laughs. He put up with a rowdy group of girls and made our time a blast. Definitely plan on coming back!

Perfect idea for a get together when you’re not sure what to do! Axe throwing occurs in 2.5 hour blocks. Instructors and great and a little friendly competition is fun with friends/co-workers. It can be chilly in there so dress warm and in comfy clothes!

This was such a great experience. We went for a birthday and the staff couldnt have been nicer. All completely new to this sorry, and by the time we were done Tiche had us throwing axes like pros. Prices are extremely fair, the area is spacious and a beautiful old structure. Parking can be tricky, but the entire trip is worth it.

Recently visited for the second time recently and had a 17 person tournament with coaches Brian and Mike. Awesome experience again! That was a lot of people to train/score/entertain and they did a great job. The layout works and considering that the concept is throwing axes, everyone seemed to be mindful and safe. We will definitely be back for another tourney. Only caveat is parking. They dont have any and the neighborhood is tight and rough in some parts.

Our Coach Allison (I hope I spelled it right) was AWESOME. The experience was fun. Great people, great vibes, great time.

Staff was extremely funny and serious at the same time. They care for your safety and want you to have a good time also! Cant wait to go back with more friends!

Pros- affordable- professional- great ranges- a lot of merchandise- you can only throw one way unless youre in a leagueCons- instructors are breathing down your neck the entire time and wont give you your space- chain link fences should be double the length so the axe from the other range doesnt bounce over- came in with 3 people and we all had to share lanes even though there were open lanesOverallWe will stick to Bury The Hatchet because we havent had any of these cons there

So much fun. Everyone was a little hesitant at first thinking they were going to throw the axe backward or hurt themselves but after a few throws we got the hang of it. By the end of the outing everyone was super competitive. Then guided tournament was a ton of fun had gave us a goal to work towards. Cant wait to go back. Highly recommended!

Came here for a birthday celebration. It was a lot of fun, our party had a really great time.Id like to particularly call out Kelly. She was our coach and she was fantastic, a great teacher, very enthusiastic, and she integrated really well into our group of old friends who had convened in Philadelphia to celebrate birthdays. Im going to look into the axe throwing place near me in Wisconsin, and will definitely try to come back next time Im in Philly.

This place was fun as we went for a work function. The lady at the front desk area was super condescending because my singnificant other was wearing flip flops. Extra rude for no reason. I was able to enjoy myself but probably wont be taking any friends or recommending the place due to the attitude of the staff. Its not that hard to be nice you run an axe throwing joint.

So much fun! My third trip to this unique Philly establishment. Although my axe game needs quite a bit of work, I always have a ton of fun competing, eating and just hanging at Urban Axes!

Throwing axes in a group was fun. I didnt have any expectations but it was more fun than expected. The coaches do a great job of teaching every one and encouraging them. Youre also aloud to bring your own beer, wine, and food which is a good on the budget. Definitely worth a try for a special occasion or corporate event.

If you like a good time let me tell you about Urban Axes. You get a coach to help you throw and they’re the best. I went from throwing duds to studs in no time. You also compete against people in your party so make sure to be on your A game. Also a personal tip don’t forget to go for CLUTCH and yell it when you do. 10/10 would throw again. Also this is BYOB so don’t forget to stop at your local brewery and grab some suds.

Throwing axes is a lot of fun and not as easy as it seems especially one handed; however, give it a shot and maybe youll enjoy it. Go in a group or do a walk-in on the weekend. Either way stop by Evil Genius or Philly Brewing, grab some beers and haul your tuckus over to Urban Axes. Forget those childhood memories of helicoptering parents, the instructors/coaches are totally chill and keep the pace of throwing going. You need to spend at least two hours here, one hour is not enough!

Love this place! The staff is amazing; they will take you from zero to axe chucking hero in an hour. It is clean, efficiently run, and has hilarious shirts as well. A definite must do in Philly

This place is pretty sweet. The atmosphere is fantastic. The place is well put together and the instructors are nice and great sense of humor. Kevin did a fantastic job at making our time fun and enjoyable.

Great experience! The coaches and very hands-on and offer personalized instructions. BYOB (no hard liquor) and you can bring food! Going with a larger group is definitely the way to go as well. Fun little competition after getting trained.

Went here as a group of 9 for a friend’s birthday and we had a great time! Our coach, Mike, was informative and very helpful! I suggest signing the waiver before you go, saves some time checking in. Also, it’s BYOB! No hard liquor but that’s probably a good idea when people are literally throwing axes! Highly recommend if you’re looking for something new and unique to do!

Wasnt sure what to expect going, but we had an amazing time. The guys teaching were funny and helped with your throwing technique,which made it more enjoyable. I liked that they were with you the whole time and that you werent left out there to figure out yourself. Well be going back again

I always have a great time here. In axe league and went for a couple b day parties as well. If you are looking a new circle of friends or you just want to try something different then I highly recommend going to Urban axes . The staff there is helpful, positive and awesome. Axe coaches Alex, Will, and Alison are the best.

Great venue for a group night out. The staff is friendly and helpful. The coaches were knowledgeable, and easy to get along with. There were other groups in other areas, but you wouldnt know they were there unless someone hit a bulls-eye. You could tell we were all having a good time.

So much more fun then I expected. The coach youre assigned will make it or break it; our coach was amazing and we had a blast. The 2.5 hours really flew by. Remember when going its BYO food and beer/wine and bathrooms were decent.

If you are ready to do something different with a group of friends on a night out then try ax throwing. It is not too expensive ($35 a person plus tips for about 2 1/2 hours) and you can bring your own food and drinks. Our group had great teachers to help with the throwing and technique. Book early (we did two months in advance) and have everybody going sign the liability waiver before you get there. If you do this, then it is much faster to get the competition going. It definitely maximizes your time in the throwing pens with the axes. Our group (girls and guys) enjoyed it much more than we expected.

I had a great time! Our coach was very helpful, and even though Im still awful at axe throwing, Im way better than I was at the start. I had so much fun, this is a great venue for a birthday party or anything where you want to get a big group together.
