Was trash. i don’t recommend coming here ever. i was in a basement w no service. the lady started the timer when she felt like it, all of the guests weren’t in the building yet so unprofessional. we had 44 minutes when we entered the room. we did some puzzles but after a few minutes we realized it wasn’t challenging and fairly ignorant. so me and my amigos walked out in the middle of the escape room to go to ocean cityyyyy!

The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. A bunch of us were helping a friend propose to his girlfriend. We were running late so the staff closed the next time slot for us AND were super quick to react to changes in the plan. They stepped up and were a HUGE help. The room was super fun too. The meltdown room was neat and fit the aesthetic of the time period well. Will go here again on more casual occasions :)

Fine escape room, good service and easy setup with pleasent staff. However, the puzzles werent my favorite. The room we did (the agency) involved red herrings and had a (mildly) broken component, as well as a puzzle that had a solution that had a solution that felt like it broke the spirit of the rules.Overall, a decent experience, but the puzzles werent my favorite.

Our group of five twenty-somethings did the Meltdown Room last night. Impressive set design. This was the most interesting and challenging escape room we’ve completed in Philly. We barely made it out in time and consider ourselves above-average Room Escapers. We will definitely be trying the other rooms Escape the Room has to offer.

We did the Meltdown escape room. This escape room was a perfect level of challenging for our group of 7 adults that included some who have done escape rooms before and some who hadnt. We had a blast solving the puzzles. What puts this escape room over the top compared to others that I have done is the dedication that has been put toward the theme of the room. The decoration and other thematic factors of the room plus the quality of the puzzles led to a very unique, challenging, and fun escape room experience.

Arguably fun, conceptually interesting, however the price is too high. 15 minutes into the room they let another 4 people in, which immediately created chaos. In the end, we solved and escaped the room.I would considering doing an escape room again, but the actual cost vs. my perceived value of this service is too high.TL;DR: Cool room, too expensive.

A great team building exercise. We tried the agent and it was quite difficult. They also have a few misleading clues and unlike most other places the clues are not sequential. It is more open ended here wherein you might find multiple clues at once which lead to totally different things.

Review №31

One if the worst escape rooms I experienced. The Meltdown looks old and beaten up, a lot of things are there to throw you off, and the whole mechanic is confusing. That would’ve been fine, however we were paired with other people and when all of us were asking for a clue for 10 minutes (!) (not exaggerating), the operator was not responding. Turns out we couldn’t find one of the items that should’ve been easily found (it was sort of stuck and hidden). So we lost, but losing 10 minutes from 60 is not ideal victory conditions. The operator told us she didn’t want to “spoon feed” us the answer, that’s after 10 min of us being stuck. Not going there again.

Review №34

I would like to preface this with between the two of us, we’ve played 15-20 escape rooms: four star customer service, but two star room. We played the meltdown, and the first half was an exercise in frustration. Players should NOT be punished for succeeding, and as an escape room veteran, the unprompted clues really threw us off. The room itself looked like it hadn’t been cleaned, especially vacuumed, in weeks if ever. While not the worst escape room, it was certainly a contender. This game confuses high tech elements for good game design. I’ve never felt so frustrated and bewildered by an escape room. It felt like it was punishing us for just being in the room. On the other hand, the customer service was friendly, positive, and helpful. Although, their lack of uniforms and dress code was questionable. Location was not obvious, and the expectation of cell phones in the room was mind boggling to me. We just wanted a dry erase board... Overall, highly disappointed with the meltdown and salvaged by the customer service.

The room is difficult without being impossible, the front desk staff was cheerful and good-natured, and the facilities overall were tidy and welcoming. While mechanics were cool, overall, the experience was not good. The room was boiling hot on a cool night. The locks didnt work on the first try. We would enter the code several times before the locks responded. We would try to tell the clue master who was supposed to be monitoring our game, but would get no reply. Found out after our session that they were understaffed and weret monitoring our game. (Their words, not mine.)They give clues in the tv monitor in the room, but the clues we got were for things we had already solved. Also, they let kids be in your group. Which means you have dead weight in the room that just takes up space.

I really wanted to like this room, but it fell far below expectations. I have done around 20 escape rooms, and this one just felt like the remnants of the early era of escape games. We chose the Dig for this experience. Overview of the major points:-The location was difficult to find. It was inside a building without any signage on the outside, and the stairs down to the rooms were behind a security desk.-The room is desperate for an update. I understand escape rooms undergo an insane amount of wear and tear, but this felt like the company just didnt care. For example, the light fixture was dangling by duct tape that was mostly no longer adhered to the ceiling, and some decoration that used to be hung on the wall had clearly been torn down, as the bare plaster showed. There were some really neat elements to the theming, but for the most part it missed the mark.-Aside from one physical puzzle we really enjoyed, the puzzles were either very simple (e.g. searching) or disappointingly illogical. We escaped, but we were not satisfied with the solutions to the major puzzles.-There was no narrative built into this room, which surprises me, as the theme and the puzzles lend themselves to one. The lack of story can be good or bad, depending on your preferences.-Super picky side note: Ive heard that you can usually tell the quality of a room based on how nice/clean its bathroom is. This theory held true for this location. We still enjoyed ourselves, as we almost always do in escape rooms, but I definitely would not recommend this location.

This is so much fun!! I really like that they give you clues along the way to help you out but the clues arent a dead give away. They keep you thinking the whole time. Very creative and interesting and a great mental challenging. The one hour time limit makes it all the more fun.Its very safe as well. Emergency exit buttons in every room, cameras in every room that the staff can keep an eye on everyone. they also let you know that if you need out before you have escaped, you can wave/call for them and they will open the door.My ONLY issue is that they sell 10 tickets a room no matter what. This means if you are in a group of less than 10, youll most likely be grouped with people you dont know. Wish they had a option for smaller groups. This isnt a deal breaker for me though as it could be a good way to meet new people.Im not sure if this is the best thing for very young children, may be best for teens and adults. Very fun!! I want to try all the rooms they have and I have already recommended it to all my friends!!

Love escape rooms. Loved this one. Only bad side is not getting a room booked with just you and your friends. Other group members bogart clues and waste time. Remember to communicate with EVERYONE and place all clues in a centrally located area for ALL to see and work on.We did 2 of their rooms here and both were well done. One of them was far too linear for 8 people. Ever had 8 people try to hover around one clue? You will in one of them because each clue and puzzle leads to the next requiring you to solve only one at a time. The other one was great. Puzzles and clues everywhere.COMMUNICATE WITH EVERYONE, SHARE CLUES IN ONE SPOT

Ive waited my whole life to have an experience like this - a point and click adventure in real life! You can read all of the other reviews if you dont understand *WHAT* this is!It was fun, and the challenges were definitely well thought out. The only reason it is four stars from me instead of five is because the setup is a little low rent for the $28 admission. I would have felt a lot more immersed if they had put a little more effort into decor and the way things were set up and designed. Atmosphere is part of the excitement. For instance, maybe a TV mounted to the wall droning on in an annoying office instructional video, or anything that felt they went that little extra mile. I would have liked a lot more red herrings. Basically, just based on the minimal effort they put into the whole thing, I think $15 is more right-on for a charge to participate. Also, there was a VERY intricate puzzle involving electricity that didnt work properly and derailed us a little bit because we didnt know if we had done it incorrectly or WHAT, but when our work was checked at the end and it was shown we HAD done it correctly, it was a little bit of a bummer.Still, it was a lot of fun. My group got about 75-80% to the solution but didnt quite make it. :(

Ive done several other escape rooms at different locations and this was by far my least favorite. We did the dig room and I did not like they fact they included unnecessary puzzles that were insignificant to getting out that only threw you off and wasted time. That is not the point of an escape room!!! I did not like the set up where there was only one screen that showed the remaining time and where clues appeared and it wasnt in a central location. I would have enjoyed it a lot more had we been able to get clues when we asked for them and not when the staff felt like we should get clues. At the end the staff member told us so many groups get hung up on the one part we were stuck on for about 20 minutes. We asked for a clue and they wouldnt give it us until there was less than 2 minutes remaining. I wouldnt go back here again. They also dont tell you that some rooms are very small and someone who is claustrophobic may be uncomfortable and that they use flashing lights, someone is epileptic should not be in this room.Location is not easy to spot from the street, it is not labeled at all from the outside.
