We really enjoyed ourselves today at the Rolling Thubder Skating Rink. I took my young 3 kids and we basically had the place to ourselves. The kids enjoyed the video games. Things were a bit pricey but overall the kids loved it so thats all that matters.
My daughters party went great. The dj gave get a shout out, the staff was friendly and accommodating. I just dont like that they open at 6 and your party starts at 6 so they should allow the host to enter at least 20 mins sooner to set up so the participants get the full party time. Otherwise, it was great!
The place was okay. It smelled like feet and poop. The pizza was terrible but the soda was good. The rides are cool my daughter loved them. The skating floor was nice and smooth.
So I came here for my son. The rink is small. The parking is horrible. The people are rude. You have to pay for admission & skate rental whether you skate or not between 2 & 17 years of age. Non skating adults can just pay for admission which is $3.00. I wouldnt have known this except that I came all the way here. Admission & skates it appears is $9.00. Then you MUST sign a waiver when you come in. You can add an additional $4.00 for food as well. They have bars also on wheels you can also rent as well, but of course thats an additional payment. I havent been in this place since I was a teenager & these costs are way too excessive! Now they want a two year old to skate & you have to sign a waiver. There is other things to do like an arcade & a ride (frog hopper). The man known as Mr. Flip is rude. He was yelling at people & blowing his whistle all loud for small issues.
Could be better if they had set up and decorations design before the children come in and designers and pay them
Cheap entry and skate rental plus fun packages for rides and arcades. There is a small coaster inside plus a froggy jump ride. Cool arcade with fun games and great prize selection for ur tickets. Skating rink is a decent size with a carpeted area in the center. Yummy snack bars with combos and slushies and stuff.
Worked as after-school teacher and great place to take the kids. But some staff has no energy when working there and you can see it on their face. Give credit to the DJ and the staff helpers on the floor. Plus I love the moon bounce for the kids.
The best rolling park in philly.
Really fun place for the kids.
This is the worst place ever!!! If your thinking about going and your 25 and under don’t think your gonna be able to go in you need a 25 or up adult to be with you. Just thought I should let y’all no. Plus the security guard is so rude.
I think that this place wasnt half bad. The only problem was that there was pee or something on the floor. My class today went on this trip and we enjoyed it. One lady was really nice to us and let us go on the ride many times because there was no one else in the line. She was really happy with us. The DJ and the lady were pretty nice to us kids. I think the place needs a bit more work and add a few things and clean the skates. Some skates were dingy and were dirty. They need to clean those shoes because someone could have had a infection or like fungi/fungus in their foot and nobody wants that. Guys, please PLEASE PLEASEEEEEE always wear clean clothing and socks and clean up good when going to a skating park because we dont want dirty skates....you are allowed to bring your own but if you dont own skates, please have clean hygiene!!!!!!!!!!!! I gave this place a 4 star because it was entertaining
It was really fun and the kids had fun
If you have young kids go early in the afternoon. I had a birthday party for a 6 year old on a Saturday (12:30-3) & it was great. Not too many people & good music. Around 3:30 the DJ changed & so did the music. I thought it was not suitable for children ( curse words & talking about sex...) But we had a fantastic time. The 2 rides are awesome.
Its a fun place to go to. They have games and food. Be warned that you need $1.50 in quarters if you are going to use a locker. Also the atm may or may not work. The staff was friendly enough. Gets very crowded on Saturdays. If youre a beginner skater like I am, maybe choose another day to go. There were a bunch of people flying by and bumping into me, which is to be expected but if youre not a skater it can be a bit intimidating. All in all I would go back.
Nice clean great customer service
Used to be a nice skating rink for kids, not so much anymore. DJ & music is pretty good. They need to invest in better & new skates. The main ride is broken and has been broken for months. They need to either fix it or remove it. Kids feel sad when they see it and then cant ride it! Crowd gets a little ghetto & older as it gets late.
Nearly 10 bucks per person on an early Saturday afternoon is a bit much to skate in a tiny oval and to play about 7 out of 25 arcade machines because so many are off or broke.Only real plus is thaty daughter just has fun being with her daddy anywhere we go.If they upgrade and fix those downed arcade machines, then the price would be okay. They have 2 or 3 rides, but they either dont work or nobody operates them. They should remove those and add more functional arcade games.
This place used to be called Wow Skating Rink about 25 years ago. Havent been here in a while, but they offer skating, gaming, food, soft drinks and just a fun night for everybody.
Atmosphere was clean peaceful and fun. The party pizza was not good st all. The individual size was pretty ok. Otherwise the crowd was nice size not too overbearing for having small children. Will definitely go again.
A beautiful experience a nice roller skate arena to have fun with a date or family. Parking is convenient a relaxed atmosphere.
I paid $62.00 for an hour and a half. So not worth it
Its pointless too purchase a locker, no one does. People simply find an empty locker and stash their belongings in there. Took my children here, and this place has gotten worse over the years. They say online closing is this time; but they were beginning to close 30 minutes early . My children wanted to skate and this is the closet to us. I found a spot over in Camden NJ, that I might have too check out.
FunExperience with my daughter and in-laws. No trouble, rules and regulations in order. Supportive and Knowledge StaffDeals and Good FoodPeace & Blessings
It’s was amazing I had fun the bathrooms were clean and nice looking
This visit for my daughters birthday was an outright disappointment. The music the DJ played sounded like his personal mp3 list or his friends beats which werent appropriate for kids. The kids are rolling around on giant, disabled looking walkers which makes everyone at the rink falling all over each other, so...no real skating is happening here. Its poorly managed, chaotic, and my child was fed up and wanted to leave after a while. Theres no good time to go because its a hot mess at all hours. In fact, the later it gets, the more kids on their walkers running on skate (literally), falling into you and each other and its a waste of time and money. Their staff can be rude. This felt more like a bad club scene than a roller skating rink for families. Boo! And boo to the staff that responded with, What you want me to do about it? Notated.
The best and the only rolling Thurder in the world
Friendly service, awesome staff but shaved skaters made it tough for everyone else.
Good place for kids... but expensive. Great face and body paint artist. And she dont charge while there. Blessed hands Philly is the artist company name.
Rolling Thunder is the best place to take my son to burn off some of that energy..
I really loved the skating rink and the arcade center. However, the place was understaffed amd the food was TERRIBLE. Make sure to bring your own food if you wanna have a good time.
This place is horrible. Broken machines that steal your money..unprofessional staff and very rude . Just would never recommend anyone to go there ever!
Me and my family always have a good time. My children love it!!
Its definitely the hang out for kids under 18. They host a lot of specialty events with reduced admission rates and skate rental is $4 (example free admission on the last day of the school year). There is a dining area, an arcade as well as some carnival rides indoors so there is a little bit of everything inside. The DJ is on-site and plays all the latest hip-hop/rap songs. The only disappointing part is the size of the skating area, which is no where near as large as your traditional skating rink.
I feel like if you paid to get in and u didnt get a braclet they should still give u skates. The lil chuncky guy take his job way to seriously. Overall I loved it.
Nice place to have a party for a good deal of $36 with unlimited rides 24 tokens and even a special birthday annoucement! But I wish this place fix it ticket machines and games so I dont have to keep calling the supervisor every 5 minutes to fix it currently theres about 9 machines out of order and 4 with tokens stuck in them I hope this gets fixed soon
I had a nice time. The kids will enjoy it. Very kid friendly. No adult skating. I had a blast
Before yesterday, I havent been to this place since I was a kid and the name was actuallyWOW so honestly I was alittle excited to go back. Until I got there. First issue was the skates, alot of the kids had trouble just getting them tied. The laces were knotted and half of them were so torn apart you couldnt put the lace threw the holes. I know they get worn alot but the least you could do is change the laces every few years! The machines kept getting stuck which was wasting the kids money. When I went to get the one guy, he tells me They dont have a key for it my first thought was how??!! How dont or wouldnt you have a key?? I didnt find out till later that they do in fact have a key, that same machine got stuck several times before that which means he straight up lied to me and was too lazy to actually do his job. Too top it all off, the bathroom was just gross. Ive been in bathrooms in Kensington that are cleaner and more maintained. Their was dried pee all on the floor and a few of the girls that actually said they would rather hold it in then to use the bathroom. My shoes literally stuck to the floor and I felt so nasty walking out of there that I wish I had a can of lysol to spray my shoes down with. The DJ was great, he kept the kids excited and pumped. He wasnt all miserable like most staff. The girl who was working the one ride was pretty cool too. She had all the kids excited and had them wanting to go on again. She was also funny which is a plus when ur there with 50+ kids. These reasons and the fact that most kids still had a huge smile on their face is the only reason I give 3 stars. It should be lower.
The place was amazing. I had my son party here on Sun June 10th. We didnt reserve a space just brought our stuff and grabbed tables. They had stuff to do for all ages. My kids couldnt skate but they had a walker on wheels to assist new beginners. They had a are in middle that the teens hung out and danced to the music and a area for kids to play games...they have 2 rides inside the place that looked kiddieish until u got on...it was fun for kids and adults. The food was good as i wasnt expecting it to be but i had no complaints with this place. They even had roller blades and I was happy cause i forgot how to use the all four ones. They have flyers for classes and events...this place was awesome...cant wait to go back.
Great service, prices & it wasnt jam packed
Horrible place. Got there on time per google and I was told I was wrong. Was told to take a seat and they will be with me and several customers were serviced before us. Smells bad and the staff can careless. Never again. I would pay ten times the price just for great customer service.
I love this place its awesome kinda pricey then the other 1 but since palace skating was closed and it was my son bday we came here i was happy chase was there and they gonna be having alot of events for the holidays the staff is very nice and so was the guest my kids loved it all so if they did that means it was great
I think I had more fun than my children
This place is fun especially for kids. My only issue is the music was terribly loud. There was 2 school buses of children. I literally had to scream just to talk to my kids. At least turn it down a notch or 5. Other than that it’s fun.
It seems theyre unable to keep the bathrooms clean because off the crowd. One of the Security Guard smelled like straight up weed.Food concession disorganised and poor quality foods and drinks. I mean Sat.Jan. 4th was terrible.Really bad experience. Greatful the children didnt know any better.
Gave nef a b-Day skate party they did a great job
I visited the rink and I seen the white guy with piercings working very hard in many areas in building. I needed help with a game he was there short time later my children wanted to go on ride once again he assisted with no problem. He has very good customer service skills. Many other employees should follow his lead. My family will be back.
It was a little crowded, but overall it was a pretty fun trip.
Its good clean family fun. I enjoyed being there and so did the children. Parents have to stay with their children if the children are under 18. I gave 4 stars because it doesnt feel very safe. It appears to only be one way in and out, and the guards are not searching people as they come in.
We went on a field trip recently.. Lots of activities for the kids but too many schools at once. They need to limit it to 2 schools max. It took 43 minutes to get food at the food bar and I was 4th in line. Also, it would be nice if the DJ did less talking and play entire songs. He spent a lot of time maybe marketing the toys they sell and yelling at the kids about the bounce house (just shut it down for good after your third warning).
It has that rollercoaster that goes faster backwards and the children and adults love the food. The children get to play lots of games and they added new ones to. With the tickets u win u get to get prizes. and is a great place to throw B-day parties.
James his great team leader he get the job done
I decided to stop by because I was in the area. It was a good time, but very overpriced. $9 admission, plus $3 to rent skates. Thats more than double of what I normally have payed, and we skate in PA and Jersey. Music was good. Snacks, ok. After splurging on skating, I didnt even ask what it cost to get on a ride. If we move to the area, well go again. Unfortunately, we wont be skating as much as we were used to.
The rink was okay, the staff was friendly, but the rink was like the wild west. Fast outside, slow inside only rules. Other than that free for all
Always enjoy bringing my daughter. I like going in week days when the music is not like a club and the staff play games with the children and bring out characters. Cool place.
It was a decent experience. The music wasnt appropriate for children, it seemed very mature. The rink floor is nice, but the staff was not professional at all. The Palace Roller Rink is a better skating venue.
This place is a lot of fun. For a family of 7 just for us to skate even the 2 yr old that didnt skate at all cost us around $70 that didnt include food and beverage. The staff was very friendly. There were a ton of people and parties and little bodies sprawled all over the floor so a bit treacherous skating. The main issue we had was that there was a lot of instruction to get off the floor and back on the floor. On a Saturday evening there was no real time for an adult skate it was either for professionals or for kids there was no in between. We still had a blast but all that instruction when we just came to skate was a bit much and with all the kids sprawled about the floor or was dangerous for them and the adults.
Omg where do I begin oh just shut the whole establishment down everyone who works here are rude and unprofessional from the manager on down was going to purchase food but quickly changed my mind with all the attitudes flying around like this is a place for kids right NEVER AGAIN CLOSE IT DOWN DONT WASTE TIME OR MONEY HERE
Ive been skating here since my teenage days. Always loved it. Great place for family and friends but if you dont/cant skate with large crowds of little kids, your best bet is to arrive early to avoid the crowd and congested skate floor. Also, it would be nice if the dj would mix it up a little and play a little bit of everything, instead of just todays music.
If you want to stay away from ghetto, dont come here. I even had someone today pissed because i was (breast) feeding my infant. Its very sad that its so ghetto. It was a lil chaotic for the birthday party today. Party was at 1 and they dont open the door till 1, so you cant setup till 15 min into your party. By the time the kids in the party got skates it had been 30 min into their skate time. They had unlimited rides but i only saw them run it 3 times. My daughter waited while it was running and when it stopped after waiting she was told it was break time. But they only ran it that once before it was break time. My neice fell and twisted her ankle and they did offer an ambulance but they were shoving papers at my sister to sign right away and were coaching the answers that they were asking about the fall. We took her to the ER right away ourselves. Oh, and you have to pay for the walkers to help the lils skate. The pizza and drinks for the party were ok, standard. The staff was ok. Some looked like they didnt want to be there and some were nice.
Great place to take the kids. Friendly atmosphere, and they have good funnel cake.
It’s great. Always have fun when I go there but the line can be long to buy food and for toys
Nice place 4 Kids and need to make the tsble Wide enough 4 big people
It was a nice outting with my daughters
Great place to take the kids on a Wednesday night.
Fisrt and foremost.... the staff in the thing 1 shirt was absolutely beautiful. If I was ten years younger. Anyways Cheap family fun. Food is alil steep but not insane. All the staff was very helpful to my nephews. They helped them skate and when a video game ate his money they fixed it and played with my 4 year old nephew. Super cool place and staff.
Had a great time and I love to skate
Not organized real ghetto
I went there for my granddaughter dance team, always love this place.
Freak n AWESOME...Uptown was Kick n it!
I love there skating rank but there rules can dumb but I know they are trying to keep people safe but there food, and games like the rollercoaster is expensive but they are fun.
Cool place for the kids. They could use a skate tech to properly service the rental skates. Had to go thru a few pair to find one that rode straight...otherwise had fun.
Its a fun family friendly atmosphere and its a great place to for birthdays and family gatherings and the skate rental prices are very reasonable.
Different from my childhood but still a great place for kids
Their GRAND OPENING WAS ON FOR 11/25/2011 FOR AN PERIOD OF TIME DUE THEIR ROOFING REPAIRS :STACK- STEPH OFCD1
A lot of the games didnt work it kept taking my son tokens, the skates was dirty, I had to keep paying to go in my locker, you had to pay for every little thing it was Crazy. My son had an ok time but i wouldnt go again.
Its so sticky and dirty that its funny. Kids love it tho
They have great customer service and its good clean fun place to be especially on Reggae night
My kods had fun but alot of the games and go the rides were broken. The food was nasty and over priced
Field trip with the school there today. We had the place all by ourselves. This is a nice roller skating parquet ring and the kids seemed to have enjoyed the time there. Outside and around the ring, though, the premises looked not so well maintained. Some of the areas were visibly outdated. Many games were out of order, too. A freshening up of the place would go a long way. It would certainly make the place look much more inviting. Theres enough square footage to make this place look awesome.
They have the best ice ever, their bathrooms were clean they had eventful games for the children
Kids said they had good time
Very fun and a very good place to meet new people
My kids had a lot of fun here. Just wish that the staff would tell those who seemed to be their regulars know that profanity and suggestive language should not be blatantly spoken around a crowd of so many kids. I mean most of us have used foul language at some point and I am guilty of this too but this was excessive and loud. Maybe a simple rule that if they behave this way they have to get off the rink for a while. I dont know. I do know that I am happy my husband wasnt there because he wouldve kindly asked them to stop. Who knows what their reactions wouldve been and where it would have gone from there.
Kids Had Great Time & Awesome Birthday Party
Me and my daughter had a good time. The manager was very nice and helpful
Awesome place to take the family or grands. Food arcade and skating under one roof. Adult Night, Gospel Night, Neon Skate, and all festivities for each holiday. Nice floors and colorful are on the walls. FREE PARKING! Easy location, Right off of Roosevelt Blvd. They have a great staff and Mgmt Team that accommodate you to create the experience for your events too. They have a party area for Birthday Parties or events too. And two ride indoor rides to give your little ones the amusement park experience indoors all year round.
They were super friendly and helpful the entire time. My group had a blast and the kids definitely want to come back again!
Needs to stock up on food, so that therell always have what we order!!!!!!
The children love this place and I for them
