Easy to access and lovely trail that is easy to walk, possibly moderate if you have difficulty walking on loose rocks. It is gorgeous. Highly recommend checking this spot out.
Nice short adventure but worth the time to go. If you have ankle or knee stability issues, stay away. Trial is quite rocky but balanced.
Absolutely striking trail. Spectacular views with the entire city available. We went a little of the actual trails up the hills and we didnt regret it. Watch out for the cacti right next to the ground though. I implore you to visit here as soon as possible. If not for your sake then for mine, please come here.
Love Landa Park and its trails. We recorded so many beautiful areas of the park, and walked from fishing pier to train tracks and around the lake to pavilions and more trails and play areas for the children. Lots of happy dog walkers and joggers, people sitting and enjoying nature and the colorful ducks, birds, and squirrels also playing on the ground, in the water and in the trees. Absolutely beautiful on that cool day in the park. Thank you Parks and Recreation, your care is clearly evident!
The trail was not to difficult, but nice. Was able to see some animals.
The ducks and deer are not scared of people there plenty of play grounds and walking trails the part was great for my kids we spend 2 to 3 hours there with no complaints
Its a quick and easy hike. There used to be bridges but Im assuming floods have taken them out but its not that big of a deal.
Beautiful trail I just wish they didnt close off the water to the river that was flowing through this.
It was a lot of fun. Took the kid and the wife to feed the ducks and geese.
Lovely shaded walking trail, great for building up new hikers or kids endurance for longer hikes!
One of the characteristic gems--yes, gem--of NB is the ability to have an excellent and strenuous hike through the Hill Country, all while not venturing very far from Landa Park! Rocks ranging from pebbles to gigantic boulders line the path, challenge your stamina, and bless your journey.
Beautiful park and trail. Very clean and lovely shade.
Beautiful trails easy walk not a whole lot of elevation change.
Perfect for hiking. Beautiful place
Awesome little trail nestled next to the comal springs. Apple Watch told me it was 1.8 miles and trail says 1.2 one way so just keep that in mind that it is closer to 2 miles than 1 mile round trip
By hiking..cant go wrong being thereVery relaxing experience and u get a work out at same time
Its very nice to be able to get out during Covid and enjoy the view here
I haven’t been in a while since I live in Alabama but I spent a lot of time in the summers growing up here with family exploring fishing and swimming in that huge pool that was there with the high dives. I’m gonna make it back soon I hope
Great place to take kids and enjoy the view
Awesome trail, nice & shaded, not too challenging. Had a great time out there will definitely be coming back again.
Take a lot of water and food hiking shoes. Very rocky trail so be careful
Part of Landa Park. This trail is AWESOME! It is the perfect place to learn and teach basics of hiking. I have taken all my children there to teach them about nature. Everything from insects, local wildlife, erosion, ect. All while giving them a hands on appreciation for nature and their health. We have even named a tree as our meeting point to reflect, relax and solve. My children have all said that they plan on doing the same for their children when they get older. This place is an excellent place to meditate, exercise and motivate the young to get outdoors.
This trail was great! Peaceful environment. Great for a much needed dose of nature. The entrance to the trail is across the wadding pool and to the right of the Comal Springs plaque on California Blvd/Landa Park Dr. The trail offers the option to stay on the path or walk on the rocky creek bed. Check out Landa Park while you are there. It’s a beautiful place for a picnic.
Beautiful place to escape the heat. Lots to do in the park as well.
Great for family, romantic date, or work out. Lots of shade and you can do just about anything here.
Nice and easy hike for the kids.
Lovely trail near Landa Park.
It is not a very long trail and is dangerous if you arent careful. I slipped and busted my knee open on the rocks and had to be stapled up in the ER. Watch those leaves and dont try and run!
Had a great time on this mild trail. Very peaceful. Good for young kids even. No problems hiking with our large group. Love how the deer are super friendly and laid back. I liked seeing the start of the Comal River as well at the beginning of the trail. Lovely parks surrounding it, wading pool, bridges, etc. Great place for photos to be done professionally as we saw many groups getting sessions done here and on the parks nearby.
Good trail but a little rocky.
Best part of the walk.
It was beautiful with big shady trees & deer
Lovely windy up hill down hill Rocky path very beautiful for sightseeing taking pictures Birds, dogs are allowed on leash
Great walk in in the best park in the USA.
A nice 1.2 mile walk along a rocky creek bed. Has a nice, easy going trail with slight slopes and very low level of difficulty. Careful, or you might cross paths with some deer too ;)
Trails are nice,.. you would need a good hiking shoes though...!
Love the soup and salad lunch!
I didnt go on the trail but the park is usually nice and peaceful. Only issue I have is the last three time Ive visited people are getting a little too amorous on blankets. Kids dont need to see that.
Nice walking/hiking trail, couple stray paths that are fun. The wildlife are very accustomed to the public.
Havent been to panther canyon trail since high school. 1972. Was at Wunderbar dog walking and pet sitting
Very nice and enjoyed walking it.
Very nice!! Crystal clear water we loved it
Nice trail. Easy except a little rocky in places. Just over 1 mile. Shaded and scenic. Follows a creek bed. Only negative comment I have is there were quite a few dogs, about half of those were not on a leash. Just be aware if you have a nervous dog.
What a beautiful park has lots to do,train rides, boat rides.
Grew up there...
It is a great place to go crawling with ur crawlers
Beautiful shaded trail nestled in Landa Park. I spent an entire childhood not knowing this trail exists — huge bummer, but I’m delighted to know it’s here now! Although there’s not an elevation gain to speak of, the rocky trail and treed landscape makes for a fun hike, and it’s a great spot to wear out doggos by completing a few out and back loops.
One hell of a beautiful hike
Beautiful nature park trail
Great quick, shaded but rocky trail.
Beautiful place, nice challenging hike through the river bed.
It is very peaceful and enjoyable.
Panther Canyon is a great trail for a nice walk. Its not terribly long. I would wear shoes that provide some ankle support. The trail is covered in rocks and can be a real ankle breaker! This trail is great for a nice walk with the family!
Easy hike, dog and family friendly.
Its a rugged trail with several elevation changes. Recommend ankle high hiking boots but a good pair tennis shoes can be worn.
Nature in the middle of town. People around but not crowded. Dogs allowed on leash.
What a great place for a hike! Whether you are looking for an easy hole or hard... This has it all. There are many trails and different scenery on most. I suggest packing drinks and make sure your phone is charged because youll want to stay out here all day! The trails are easy to follow. Also perfect for snapping some beautiful photos!
Beautiful path with lots of rocks. Idk for sure but it looks like an old river bed. Quick hike and its in the awesome Landa Park.
Great hiking area right in New Braunfels!!
Nice nature with deer everywhere.
Wonderful place to walk around and enjoy the river and wildlife.
Its a quiet trail considering all the swimming, picnics and parties! The trail was nice and not difficult. Nice place to go and just get away for a little while.
Great trail, good for kids and dogs of all sizes
Great walking path for all ages!
Great trail. Easy walk for the whole family.
Beautiful, quiet, easy hike along trails...a tiny bit less easy walking through the creek bed due to uneven terrain (as one should expect in a creek bed). Did I mention beautiful. Oh, and shaded! So, even on those blistering hot, middle of summer days you can still be outside hiking around...shade is definitely a huge plus! Word of caution if it starts pouring down rain...move to higher ground ASAP..creek bed fills up FAST! Have fun...
Very peaceful and quiet walk amongst over 40 deer!!!!
Beautiful sights
Beautiful hike!
Great place to enjoy the outdoors
Id have to say that this is one of the better trails in New Braunfels. Being that its right next to the park is also very nice! Its a good place to watch the wildlife and even break a small sweat while hiking. It doesnt get too busy either which is really nice if youre looking to spend some quality time with someone
Impressive park, yearling deer and ducks feeding on vegitation, lots of picnic tables and water way running through the park
Beautiful, rocky trail under an oak canopy on the edge of Landa Park. The natural beauty is undeniable. The only thing bringing the score down is the near constant presence in a specific area of a very foul odor. Its about 2 minutes walk to the parks restroom, folks--do us all a favor, please.
For what little of this trail Ive hiked it seems great..I wonder if there are any hiking groups? That would like to get together regularly and do the whole trail. Would be nice to do it with some good people
Great place for hiking, go early in the morning to see all the wild life. We were there at 8:00 AM and got see the deer coming out.
An enjoyable walking trail!
Brings me back to being a kid again! Old times and good memories
Well be going back when weather changes.. Loved the walk beautiful. Placese to sit along. The way.
Nice walk. Plenty of places to sit and rest. TAKE WATER! Enjoyed the scenery.
Very pleasant area. People were walking, kids were playing, people were doing some fishing, it was nice! Very scenic and the water was Crystal clear. Beautiful!
Really great place. Lots of wild life to see and explore.
The park itself was great, but the cost was outrageous. it was $25 for one table! would not recommend. go somewhere else!
Live right above Panther Canyon. Beautiful area for walking. Unspoiled and natural area.
Nice and shady
Quiet and relaxing
Beautiful trail so much to see and a wonderful central place to see it!
Great nature hike for me and the family. Even though its in town, it still feels like you are not
I love the options here. You can walk through the rocks of the dry creek bed or you could take the path. The path does have a little bit of elevation. Its not a super long trail but honestly its one of my favorites. We have been many times. Sometimes you see deer walking on the path or next to it. The path is dog friendly.
Very beautiful site of nature
Rough and rocky trail, but lovely oasis right in town.
Nature at its best. Plus a great way to get some good exercise.
A beautiful location full of wildlife such as deer, squirrels, ducks and fish. The trails are a great way to stay in shape. The park is a large area with plenty of picnic tables. Deer are out at all times of the day. A great spot to connect with nature.
Excellent trail with lots of big rocks
Had a great time except the 35 mins we spent driving around looking for an available parking spot.
Beautiful hike along the creek, last part of the trail does loop back around. Some rocks to walk over but not difficult. Very peaceful and fun. Hard to believe that it is right in town! We walked over to the wading pool after we finished and cooled our feet!
Nice roundtrip hike with my dog
This trail is very enjoyable to go on. It doesnt loop around, so it is up the trail and back. Its kind of rugged, but nice scenery.
