Hadnt been here in a few years, but it was still fun nonetheless and we had a great time!
Awesome place! Great to just go Relax!
This tube chute is very scary. A little girl got stuck under all of the tubes coming in and got separated from her mother. I scraped my leg, and me and my sister got separated. Don’t get hurt. Don’t come here.
So much fun!! Weekends are crazy busy.
2nd time Ive ever tubed the rivers in Texas. Loved this place. Soooo fun
Soooooo....relaxing!!!! Packed a lunch and some wine(no bottles or cans allowed) and floated down for about 2 1/2 hours while playing my music. I wish i would have taken more pictures! 20$ for parking and 3$ for each person to get in. Life vest are available and life guards on duty. Theres even small spots to pull over and grab drinks or even a turkey leg. I will be back as soon as i can.
This is a beautiful area and many people come to enjoy it. Parking around the park is $30 from May to Sept. Which is too much. I came to this tube Chute many years ago when I was a teenager.... honestly I dont think its changed much at all. After going through the Chute if you want to get out and do it again it can be really hard to get over to the opposite side and up stairs. If you miss the stairs you have to go way down and walk back. The first set of stairs are rusted metal and are all beat up so be sure to watch your step there. Its fun and doesnt cost a lot per person to go through it $5 each and you will need a wrist band but to get your moneys worth you would have to go through it several times. Last time we went to the Chute my youngest daughter and I got stuck in the vortex between the dam and where the Chute comes out. It is really difficult to get out of that area because the water just swirls around there. They had two lifeguards that sat there and watched us struggle.... they in no way helped us at all. Be careful with smaller children. They need to have a life jacket on.
If you cant swim, if you have kids that cant swim..or that are in a small vessel..get a bigger wider one....and tie a rope if you dont want your kiddos to separate...this is a river...its nature...it is not predictable....but it is one of the funnest ..most beautiful and coldest rivers in texas to visit...
The tube chute was awesome! The parking attendant was rude. Take cash. No credit cards. The security was semi helpful. I enjoyed the chute. It was beautiful and fun.
Love this place but avoid the chute. Our tubes popped trying to go through the chute, because it was supper packed in the summer. Out of season was a lot better.
We drove for over an hour only to find out the place is closed because of covid!
This was so relaxing! We loved it. Make sure that you read the rules and do not bring any of the items that are banned. The officers will stop you, take it, and throw it all away.
There Were About Only 2 Chutes, So The Coolers Didnt Flip So Thats Good. It Would Be Cool If There Was More Shade. Overall Its A Pretty Good River To Float Down.
Really fun, pretty busy during the weekend but if you get there on Friday it’s pretty calm (prior to 11 am)
Really cool good temps all year well put together dangerous
New Braunfels Tube Chute is fun and is for everyone--even if you get wiped out--a great place to cool off from hot summer heat. Great place to go with your family or friends.
So much that you can do its beautiful, I always have a great time!
Consistently a great place to take the kids for hours of enjoyment. Prices are reasonable but they only take cash including $15 per tube. Parking on the park is $20, a bit steep. Save cash if in more than one car by parking in city lots nearby and bring your own float. No refreshments in the park but you can bring a cooler. No disposable containers, bring drinks in a thermos.
Family and I had a great trip. Enjoyed our tiny home stay and scenery
Honestly, this place was a blast! Highly recommended! Just make sure you bring lots of sunblock!
Peaceful and beautiful walk along the Comal River
As I mentioned in my review for prince solms park (same place) it is rediculous to pay as a resident. I only give 2 stars because it is beautiful and the staff is friendly.
Good clean fun compared to the Guadalupe!
Awesome place. $2 entry fee. You can bbq, drink and just relax
Great place for Relaxing. Pure Fun!!
Fun as always! Water is always cold, so its perfect for hot days.
Convenient location to enter the river for tubing, parking is pricey though. The city has really cracked down and neighborhoods are blocked off for free parking, so you are pretty much stuck paying the $20.
Nice float but know the rules of the river before you float.
Management says they have signs posted for rules but this place is doesnt even implement the rules at all! You could be a minor and bring alcohol onto the river and they probably wouldnt even bat an eye. XD This place is a legit JOKE. They say they have rules but dont even implement them and then innocent people who are going for the first time have to PAY for their MISTAKES by going to JAIL for a CAN.PS the manager couldnt even show sympathy and give us a return on our tube passes since we got kicked off the river after 15 mins of floating! They have some serious management and police issues that really should be addressed.
Awesome place for the family! So much fun and very adorable. Cant wait to return and stay longer.
Awesome place to go and have fun
Its nice and relaxing. Hate that they added the can ban.
Almost drowned but had a great time!
OMG the best place ever! I love the water here. Not too cold but cold enough to cool off in the Texas heat. Alot of fun! Cant wait to go back!
The best place to go tubing!
Great summer chill spot with life guards on weekends only. Be careful of police floating looking for glass and plastic though you will be cited if caught right on your tube
Its pretty boring not fast but has 1 very interesting chute
I love this place.
Awsome place to go with family and friends!!
The Tube chute is so much fun!!
I have a blast every time I go, if it has been rainy expect the river to be full of it hasnt expect to walk in some parts. Sometimes you do get annoying frat guys and they are super annoying....
Ice cold water but also so needed with this Texas heat!!
If you cannot swim wear a life jacket.
I love this place!
River time is always a great time
Looking for a FREE place to float one of the rivers in New Braunfels? Enter the Comal. Went on Friday, July 27, 2018 @ 2pm. A lot of people but not overly crowded.PROS:FEES: Entrance FREE...Mon-Fri if you use your OWN tube. Weekends $5 for nonresidents of New Braunfels. $7 for tube rental with $15 deposit. Parking FREE for disabled veterans! Inflate tubes for $1 each.RIVER: Serene, safe & shallow enough to stand in some parts. Very relaxing!! A few people swimming alongside tubes. Total journey from beginning to the last public exit, which is clearly marked takes about 1.5-2 hours. Pace of the river comparable to a slow walk/stroll. Unknown length of river from entrance to last public exit.CHUTES: 3 total. First chute about 30 to 40 yds long 10-12ft wide and pushes you out onto the river and has some fun factor. Second quasi-chute is pretty calm with mild rapids. Third quasi-chute was short but the best with moderate rapids providing a nice bouncing/roller coaster effect. Most fun of the three!EXIT: 10-12 minute walk back to entrance.SHUTTLE SERVICE: Unknown. Did not use.CONS:FEES: Parking $20 regular if not disabled veteran. No military discount on tube rentals. Cash ONLY for tube and life vest rental. $15 deposit for each.RIVER: Mentioned above too slow and calm for my taste (Boring!) with a few walls and no banks. Hard to tell shallow parts from the deep.CHUTES: Only 3 which are anticlimactic especially if you are a Six Flags/Schlitterbahn fan.EXIT: Getting out at the last public exit was dicey because it didnt have a lead up. Just a sudden drop off from the steps and a few of the stones to the steps are slimy with algae. Be careful!RECOMMENDATIONS/TIPS: M-F the best & least crowded. One trip down per summer enough. One extra tube for gear..ie..drinks, backpack, music. Rent tubes (less to carry). If you buy your own probably would have to float 3-5 times (reinflate?) before you get a return on your investment. AT LEAST ONCE A SUMMER...BRING THE KIDS!
When you need to get away at night. Sit next to the running water and escape.
Almost drowned...butt still fin
