I enjoyed a nice game of disc golf here. The course was a bit difficult due to distance but some people wouldnt have that issue but I liked the challenge however the park isnt too well maintained and every time I reached down to pick up a disc I got poked by the thorns in the grass which is my only complaint.. anyway, its a nice park just needs to be maintained a bit better. The best part was seeing my buddy go swimming for a disc... Haha
Bring your own tube and it cost a lot less. To me was fun in the water was clean! It was an absolute blast since visiting from Louisiana. Tubing isnt the same. The water here is much clearer. You cannot bring anything disposable with you! L must be in reusable containers! But nevertheless still a blast!
Gorgeous park on the river. I took a sunset dip and loved floating and watching the clouds change color and drift by. Awesome spot for families.
Disc golf, paved walks by the Comal, too cold to swim, but it connects up to Landa for a great place just to get outdoors.
Well kept, I go here all the time for disc golf and the river access is wonderful.
Pleas take your peeps here. Was very fun floTing the river
Great park but way too crowded. No social distance being done. No masks used. Too bad. Been going there for over 20 years.
Giving this rating solely off of the employees, the park is beautiful however. They selectively enforce rules at this park. Constantly seeing people drinking aluminum cans on the river and no recent Enforcement the past few months.
Underrated New Braunfels river destination. Less crowded than other spots. Good place to play tennis, disc golf, or just hang out.
Lots of free fun sliding down the chute, but if youre not a strong swimmer or cant swim, rent or bring a tube. Very strong eddies are present when you get out of the chute. So much fun!
Great service cant bring anything disposable 20 dollars for parking if parking was not so expensive then it would have been 5 stars the chutes are so fun
Floating the Comal was loads of fun. If you try and bring a tandem float (one for 2 people) you may be turned away because there are shoots like rapids you will go down and you may get stuck and get get others stuck so bear that in mind. We had 6 tubes strung together and were able to talk, laugh, and have a good time. There were people smoking pot on the river, not much you can do about that. Parking does leave somthing to be desired. Maybe park elsewhere and uber in.
The water sparkles and is a nice year round temperature. The tube shoot and float takes about 2 to 3 hours. The experience us best during summer evenings after the large crowds have gone home. Parking is free after 7 pm during the season. Otherwise, it is 20.00. Some free parking exists for residents with river passes....river passes are free for residents. A tip...buy your own tube and walk back to the park. It is less than half a mile.
This place was great! This was a great starting point to float the river because you get to go down 3 tube chutes. The first chute is fast and you go around a curve. So hold on to your stuff! If you are connected to friends make sure you are connected properly! It is a really fun chute though. The second one is a little fast too and the third is slower. It was packed the first 2 times we floated it but it wasnt a problem. Everyone was cool and having fun. If you need to blow up tubes, they have a place at the front gates for $1 each time. Definitely can not wait to go again next year!
Nice and clean. They do a good job keeping it from getting trashy. Quite a few people enjoying themselves.
This place is always fun. However, the 1st chute is the only one worth doing. If you do the other 2 you have to have a shuttle arranged or walk back quite a ways because everything is private property and it is a long float before you can get out and walk back. The 1st flume is the best and you can just run it repeatedly unless you want a long and slow float to drink cold beverages. REMEMBER- NO GLASS CONTAINERS. I seem to recall seeing people get a ticket for bringing glass on the river.
Disc golf course was decent and not too crowded. Decent range in hole layout and difficulty. A couple cool holes leading you down near the river.
Loved it here,,had fun with the grand kids. It only cost 2 $ per person..but parking is 15$ .
Had a great time, first visit, I will be returning.
Great place for a family weekend getaway i really loved it
Always a great place to be in the water to relax. Make sure to have floaties or a tube because there is a strong current in some parts. I love that you may see some wild life such as deer like we did. So cute. All in all, great place to be when you want to get away from your busy, everyday life.
Great place obviously to start the float the river
Nice park with a basketball court and multiple grills and tables near the river. It seems to be kept pretty clean. Easy access to the river and the walk back from floating isnt bad at all. Takes maybe 10 minutes compared to the 1.5ish hour float. Chill spot.
Love this place reccomend it to anyone. You can stay and relax here all day. Incredibly cold water
Great place to go very busy though
Parking experience was bad. Park mobile only works if you have an iPhone. If you have an android, you might get a citation.
Great spot for tubing& swimming. Summertime they offer life jackets for nonswimmers. No free parking. Good park for relaxing& people watching!
Always fun
Very relaxing float down the river
Very fun! Perfect distance for a fun and relaxing float. The tube shoots are so fun!
Nice place to take the family during the week, a little crowded on weekends. Great swimming in the Comal River.
I nearly drowned since the current was pulling me down and the employees did not help me. On the side of that my friend asked the employees for help for me but they said I will be fine. I was lucky to have a floaty there or I wouldve died and they wouldnt be able to retrieve my body
Fun place to go tube. Be sure to not bring cans, glass bottles or food onto the river. Also grab a life jacket for weak swimmers, the chute currents are strong, and the tubes will pile up on people that fall out.
The beauty of this park was just breathtaking. The river with so inviting location is just beautiful Great place just to go and do some siteseen are even do some rafting and swimming.
Love the view while swimming ♡
Nice place to tube the comal
Had a great time with my family. & ALL the employees went above & beyond to make my visit go great. We will be visiting there again real soon
The tennis courts are well kept and not usually a long wait for a court if its busy depending on time of day
Clean! Easy water access
Parking is 20 dollars during the tourist season...park is very nice. Public entry port for nearly all tubing companies. Crowds depend on the day.
$2 per person to float during the weekend is definitely worth it! Clean water and two fun chutes to go down.
Beautiful park with handy parking, even on Saturday if you arrive early enough. Also easy access to the Comal River and to the Tube Chute!
Had a good time floating. Remember take reusable containers for your food and drink.
Careful with the cops here. Theyre on boats looking for people with glass, aluminium, and plastic. You need to use Re-usable containers.
Love this parks access to the river. Only reason this place doesnt get 5 stars is bexause public bathrooms are filthy and not maintained properly.
The courts were great as usual but I ended up getting a ticket for parking by the bathrooms across from the courts. I was given a warning. So make sure you have the tag necessary to be able to park by the courts or bathrooms.
The water sparkles and perfect distance for a fun.
Best off season where you dont have to pay $20 to park
It was lit
Beautiful and very accessible in the winter (off season). It is definitely still great for swimming as late as the end of October. September 1st, all parking fees end, and the crowds disappear.!
Nice clean and everyone was friendly that came to enjoy the park, great place for family and friends, everyone looks out for one another here its an awesome atmosphere and a beautiful creation of the Gods earth, thank you LORD.
Beautiful park! Lots of trails and water
Great place to go relax on the water with a drink. It $2 to float but free to swim
It is a really nice place if you want get fun with friends...
Nice park but $20 to park Memorial day to labor day.
Pretty ark, nice frisbee golf.
Crowded and the city charges 30 bucks to park
Ok park... Mostly its value in the tube chute and not the park itself. It used to be free to park and now its $20 during the hottest parts of the year as well as more $ for a wristband. My biggest complaint is the frequency of change in the already convoluted parking fees/times. I carefully read the parking fee instructions and determined I didnt have to pay anything during that timeframe then the next week it had changed without any obvious notice and I was ticketed.
This place is awesome but it really needs more parking and less the cost of parking!
While it is beautiful here and all, it is rediculous to have to pay to get in even as a resident! Also it is free to walk down and actually float or swim further, seems silly to me!!
Helps me relaxed. Love wish it last longer.
Pretty cool. A little over populated. Need a little bit more rapids or something to make it more adventurous for people.
They charge $20 to park before 7 pm. Or you can find parking in the street and walk all the way down to the river because also most of the times the parking lot is full, and $2 per person if using a tube or float in the river.
Easy parking, great and clean river. Had a lot of fun
Have someone wait at your car when paying for parking pass cause these park rangers are savages. I recieved a parking violation ticket while went to pay for parking. Less than 10 minutes away from my car, I have the parking pass to show proof of the time difference from the violation. Ive been having to email someone back n forth from the courthouse as it seem this is how you handle things to meet with a prosecutor since they are not always available. The park and the river are very nice and kept up with. We are not from New Braunfels but always take the drive. Parking is $20.
Great place to picnic or go tubing down the Guadalupe River
Nice park but lots of rules down in new braunsfels and they charge an arm and a leg for everything, $20 parking, $2 entrance fee (wristband)No double tubes, small ice chest only with a latch, no cans (only reusable yeti/arctic cups)Just be prepared to spend alot of money on something that should be free if your bringing your own tube to float a public river
Awesome place to visit with the family!! Make sure you pay for parking. Use the app for convince!!
When they charge $25 to park and $20 for a table I understand why its so much more clean than the San Marcos river.
Super friendly clean ..meet greatpeople theres always an helping hand around
It was $30 to park there. But other than that the water was nice and it was beautiful
Childhood memories revisited! Great for all ages.
Good tubing river
Water chutes are fun. Water was cold at first but it is like that always. Parking is expensive.
Nice walkways, access to water, lots of trees
Nice environment an people. We had a blast
20 bucks to park but a good place to get in the river
Clear cool water in beautiful New Braunfels wish I lived closer!
From May to Sept they charge $30 to park here! City of New Braunfels this is overpriced parking! If you want to walk up to the Chute this is where you want to park or Hinman Island Park. The cost to park is the same. The chute is an amazing place to hang out. LOTS of people come here so it can be over run with people.
Best little float in Texas
Nice place to pack a cooler and spend the day with family. Bbq pits are available to grill on.
Nice place to take a dog out for a walk. The bbq pits are convenient for grilling on a nice afternoon with friends and family
The can ban sux, but I get it. The number of park rangers is bananas--solution looking for a problem. $20 parking fee is exorbitant.But...deff clean(ish) family fun. If you have your own tube, its a $2 entrance float fee. If you want to picnic, its a $25 fee for staging whether you get a picnic table/bbq grill or not.Loads of revelers who are imbibing...consider whether you want to bring really young kids. My sister brought her 5 y/o granddaughter whose tube got away from the group. It was a panicked 30 seconds. I wouldnt bring anyone who couldnt swim or who was under 13 because of the environment. Im giving it a PG-13 rating. My kids are grown, fun was had by all.
Beautiful river! Can go there just to swim or go tubing!
A lot of fun. Just be prepared on holidays for a very packed river.
Had a blast! My first time floating, had to do it twice!
If you are playing on the disc golf course, DO NOT bring your dog... Horrible goatheads!!!
Easy river access. River front parking.
