Beautiful space in Marathon. The property is well taken care of and well landscaped. The big pool is pretty peaceful and the beach is great. We didnt have may coffee in out room and the spent grounds from the last guest were in the coffee maker. When I went to the front desk to get coffee I was told they were out except for one packet of decaf and was provided a map pointing me toward coffee spots around. We didnt have pool towels in our room as we were instructed do back to the front desk again for towels.
My daughter and i fell in love with this resort! So beautiful and peaceful and so much fun endless smiles from both of us! Highly recommended the pool was huge and perfect area for kids as well! Tiki bar was really cool and fish tacos were very yummy! Even the kids meal was delicious and drinks were refreshing. The employees were wonderful. We will be booking a wonderful vacation again soon!
We travel to the Keys quite often and have stayed at numerous places. We have found Tranquility Bay to be hands down the best place to stay. With one of the only sandy beaches in the area our kids are occupied all day. The restaurant is top notch and the staff is always accommodating. Its the only place we will stay moving forward.
If anybody is looking for great deals for hotel rooms head to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ reserved a resort on there and they had the best prices any where!Beautiful resort. Tropical Garden View room was spacious and very clean. This resort is very well maintained inside and out. Grounds, pool and beach area were clean and very inviting. We will definitely be returning.
Really enjoyed our stay at Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel. We had a 3 bedroom & 2.5 baths waterfront villa. Loved the open floor layout of downstairs, very airy. Loved the decks overlooking the water. Loved the master bedroom brightness...My only complaint which happened to be a big deal for me was the washer & dryer. The dryer was not cleaned well. The dryer should be vacuumed each time the villa is cleaned.Otherwise everything was great! We will return next year.
The cottage was nice, but not without flaws. One of the bathrooms had a toilet that was loose on the hinges and sat on a large crack in the floor tile. It appears Tranquility did not hire all of their employees back for Thanksgiving because it took a ridiculously long time to check in (5:00pm), the cottage was inadequately stocked (toilet paper, no cooking vessels, etc.). Not all employees wore masks and we cancelled our restaurant reservations after learning they were following the Florida Governors proclamation that social distancing and masks would not be enforced. They were basically packing as many people together as they could. The rental place for watercraft (kayaks, skidoos, hobo) was manned by one person. Despite having a reservation, it took everyone at least thirty minutes to get set up.On the plus side, once the employees rid the beach of massive seaweed, it was beautiful. The pools were supposed to close at dusk, which nearly made us cancel as dusk comes around 5:30pm this time of year, but because they had so few employees not a soul was around and everyone swam as long as they wanted. We did order take-out food from the restaurant and it was very good., The grounds were well kept and available games such as mini golf, cornhole and volleyball were fantastic for family fun. There was a nice tiki beach bar and, although there was no beachside service, it was easy to don a mask and place an order to take back to ones lounge chair. Finally, we were in a 3 bedroom, 3 bath. It was extremely spacious and had wonderful porches both upstairs and down with comfortable chairs and tables. We spent a great deal of time on these porches. This is the third time my family has been to this resort and it probably wont be the last, but it is definitely the last until the pandemic is over because--unfortunately-- they chose to ignore CDC guidelines over keeping people safe.
We stayed here just two nights due to our busy schedule. We were wishing we could have stayed longer! Even our 16 and 17 year old children were being too stay longer. The staff was friendly and the double Queen room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the amenities, the Tiki Bar, the bean bag toss, the volleyball on the beach, the spacious areas for laying near water and the beach was beautiful and the pools! The only thing that we were hoping would have been different was that we would have liked for the paddle boards to be included with the price of the stay. In my experience Resorts often include paddle boarding as part of their amenities especially at the price range for this Resort. All in all it was a beautiful experience and hope to stay again very soon!
This resort is one of the prettiest beach resorts in the Keys. I was looking for a place that had a big inviting swimming pool with an outdoor place to get a light lunch or drinks nearby and a sandy beach. We stayed in one of the little cottages and it was clean and attractive, nice to have a kitchen although I wouldn’t plan to cook a big meal there or anything. Ours was a two bedroom and both bedrooms were small with tiny bathrooms. I loved the little decks off of the upstairs bedroom and the living room, nice to just sit out there with a book. The decks aren’t terribly private but the resort wasn’t crowded so it was fine. Also be aware that there is no place to get breakfast… The restaurant is open for dinner only. It has excellent food and is also on the pricey side. All in all this is a very nice resort and if you’re traveling with a family the little cottages are affordable and a better option than squeezing into one hotel room or paying for two. Just don’t expect to be waited on as you might at a five-star resort…partly because of Covid but partly because the way the place is set up with mainly cottages so people are a bit more independent. Last thing I’ll say is that there’s not a ton to do in Marathon so if you haven’t researched what’s going on in each of the Keys you should.
Our group of three couples thoroughly enjoyed 5 nights at this beautiful resort. Sunsets were amazing! Our house was clean and well equipped. Landscaping is beautiful, like a walk in a park.Tranquility Bay provided more than we anticipated. Thank you and we all look forward to returning soon.
In this crazy world we are living in, it is nice to be able to get away. Tranquility Bay is perfectly located near the 7 mile bridge in the heart of the Florida Keys. It offers all the amenities you would expect from a resort...there is no reason to leave!!
Great little spot on Marathon. The staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful, the beach is small compared to a resort that’s not on the keys but there’s plenty of space to stretch out, swim and get sand under the toes. The beach bar was a little slow with the service but it was very busy when we were there with only 2 staff so understandable.I will say that there were a lot of very demanding customers when we were there which might explain some negative reviews. If you want somewhere to simply relax, get a beach house there, bring some drinks and you’ll be more than happy. If you want the Ritz or are demanding ultra luxurious resort amenities because you think you deserve it in life, look somewhere else (ideally not in the Keys).
Absolutely loved this resort. The grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. They had jetskis available to rent on the property and cheaper than most places nearby. The drinks at the bar were a little pricey, but good. Same with restaurant, its not cheap, but great food. We stayed for a week, and only one complaint... We had some very noisy neighbors one night about midweek of our stay. I spoke to the manager and the rest of stay was back to peaceful. What was really nice was having our own washer and dryer. My wife hates bringing home dirty clothes and she was happy she could unpack at home and just put away clean clothes. Definitely going back.
This was definitely not the place for me and my family . After I saw so many great reviews, I was expecting much more from here. I felt more of a retirement home then a vacation spot. It is extremely quiet and it has so many rules and regulations, you cant even smoke in the parking lot or you get fined $500, my mom had to walk all the way to the main street outside of the resort just to smoke, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE, had we been advised prior to spending almost $2,000 on our stay, they also have iguanas everywhere and one landed on my mom, we ended up checking out the following morning. Staff was nice and accommodating, so I do give them that. Maybe I didnt dig enough about this resort and I bet this is great for many people, just didnt feel vacation-ny to us.The rooms where also run down a bit and the dryer did not work, which would have been fine if it didnt cost close to $500 for a night
Sunset views at the tiki bar and water sport area are breathtaking! The only reason I did not list 5 stars is due to having to amenity prices, limited kitchen utensils, and limited number of lounge chairs on the beach. Amenities like jet ski rental and spa prices are a bit high for the area so we went to other locations for that. The pools are warmed and if one pool was busy we would just go to another. I highly recommend staying here for families and groups. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and loved sharing a space and cooking meals together. The room did have very limited cooking supplies so we had to make a few trips to the Publix (1-2 miles down the road). Also the Cuban restaurant across the street is amazing! We only had a whisk, tongs, and a soup ladle to use in the 3 pots (no pans, spatulas, spoons, or spices). There are plates, bowls, cups, blender, strainer, mixing bowl, small cutting board, and some silverware. The staff is very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Resort is well maintained with staff cleaning constantly.
Visited in Jan 2019. Check-in was delayed, but staff was very accommodating. The room was very clean. The location was perfect- private, and great amount of beachfront. Will definitely return when we visit the keys again! We also really enjoyed meeting the General Manager- Bob Bauersachs :)
Beautiful resort. Tropical Garden View room was spacious and very clean. This resort is very well maintained inside and out. Grounds, pool and beach area were clean and very inviting. We will definitely be returning.
The resort is extremely peaceful, clean, and unique. The staff is so friendly and go above and beyond. The blue butterfly cafe is delicious. Miguel and Flavia were our servers, they were super attentive and helpful in decided what to order because everything looked so good.
The property is beautiful and tranquil on the outside. Our room was not. The blinds in the room were broken, does not close properly and there are no shades to block the bright outside light. I could not sleep. Frustrated and tired I called the front desk. The phone kept ringing without answer. I called the the 866 number and left a message with reservation that we will be leaving the hotel and why. We left, I called up to 8:30 am and still got the voicemail and left messages. No one called back. I called again at 9:30 and the manager answered. He said he got my message. I told him about my experience. He told me his house keeping staff normally check the rooms.I told him if they had checked, they should have replaced the blinds or fixed the broken blinds and the strings to adjust. He insisted I should have called maintenance which was not an option when I called. He then stated I should have followed procedure and leave a message with maintenance, so I will not be reimbursed. That’s a real rip off. They will never see my face again
By no means is this a luxury resort! When asked for more forks was told they did not have any. In our 4 day stay had to go to front desk 5 times to request toilet tissue, paper towels, utensils, dishwasher detergent and towels. No one EVER answers the front desk when u call and leaving messages does not work either! Left 2 messages, no return call ! No security on staff and unruly neighbors at 2:30 am are not checked ( it is left up to you to handle so ur family can get some sleep️ There are many other resorts in the Keys, save your $ and pass Tranquility Bay. You will be happy u did!
Been here about a week now and check out Tuesday. My wife and I are on our honeymoon and I do not believe we could have picked a better spot. Great pools, a great private beach, great views. We will definitely be coming back.
First time in the Keys for our family of 4. Location was perfect! Close to everything. Rooms are overpriced and dirty. Our room had trash under the table and condiment cup with something growing in it under the nightstand in Master Bedroom. No cleaning service unless requested but they still didn’t show when requested. After 2 days we needed replacement beach towels never got them. Asked again and still nothing. It didn’t seem like the cleaning staff showed up until noon. We also had a big cockroach in our bathroom. Just surprised at almost $500 a night how bad it was.
Very nice getaway resort. A few things would have made it perfect: you need to offer a coffee service. Just having mediocre coffee in the rooms with horrible, flimsy, coffee cups is not acceptable. If there are no breakfast options at the resort, at least up your coffee game. Also, the pool and beach towels could be upgraded. But a beautiful resort, room was great, super relaxing atmosphere.
We stayed for 1 night in the Tranquility. The staff/service who welcomed us was nice and everything looks good on the first look. If you look closer you will see that the rooms could be cleaner and the linings could be renewed. The cooler could also be more quiet. During checkout the resort fee has been charged again and I should speak to my travel agency. No help or understanding at all.The area where this resort is, looks great and you have a lot of pools and a private beach entrance. The fitness room looks not so good. However I still give 3 stars. With some little tweaks it could be a really great.
We were looking for a vacation home in the keys and came across this gem. We stayed at the 2 bedroom house near the beach with our own little pathway to the pool which was nice. Afternoon sunsets on The outdoor patio was definitely my favorite part. However, the Inside was a bit dated, the tiles had so many cracks and the rug in the stairs were filthy. Definitely need replacement. Other than that, it was a great experience.
We had heard many great things about this Resort, so we decided to give it a try. We booked a 2 night stay this weekend along with our family. We were excited and looking forward to our stay. The house we stayed a 2/2 was dated and smelled like mildew. The house is a bit small and feels overcrowded. Our toaster was broken, took about an hr to replace after calling. The beach is not that great but was nice with the exception that it was too crowded and werent enough chairs or umbrellas for the amount of people there.2 pools, both overcrowded, 1 for adults only and we saw a few people kissing, the other large pool for every age, unfortunately, one of the nights we witnessed a couple doing inappropriate rated xxx things. At that point we did not feel secured in allowing our teenagers to go there alone. Finally, we were barely able to enjoy our balcony and Oceanview because our neighbors were constantly smoking outside. We thought it was a smoke free zone?.. well, it was but their was barely any staff throughout the premises to supervise these inappropriate behaviors. Im not sure if I will be booking here again, unfortunately, I am disappointed.
Wow, wow and wow! This was my first trip to the Florida keys and I cant wait to come back. The location is amazing and the beach is perfect - clear warm water and white sand with amazing sunsets. Special shout out to Miguel and Bob who were so helpful during our stay and the guys in Tiki bar - the perfect cocktail spot. We will be back soon and would highly recommend.
We were very pleased with our three bedroom accommodations. It was spacious and well equipped. It’s casual and relaxing. Service was great. Staff was friendly. It was great! We will return!
Terrible!! Never again. Very disappointed. No customer service. Overpacked rooms. 20 people staying in 5 max places. Pool disgustingly hot with so many people. No amenities that arent overpriced. Would love to have a morning coffee bar with simple breakfast options. For the prices paid not the resort you picture.
Great stay at Tranquility Bay. Accomodations were were spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and responsive. Pool was convenient and the beach was great. Everyone gathers to watch the fantastic sunsets. Location is perfect and in close proximity to other things to do in Marathon. The resort had a nice feel about it and we will definitely be back.
Everything about this place is wonderful. My husband and I rented a 3-bedroom beachfront house for almost a week and it was heavenly. We interacted with front-desk associate, Omar, many times. He was extremely polite and helpful and made our experience even more memorable. Would book again without hesitation. The only suggestion that I would make to the resort is that there be a door tag available to let staff know whether or not housekeeping is needed. We noticed some of the other houses had this, but ours did not.
Staff and location were wonderful, some of the other guests not so much.... Smokers in a non-smoking resort and a couple bringing their children to the Adults only pool. Staff was very attentive when these situations occurred.
VERY BEAUTIFUL RESORT! My wife and I decided on a spur of the moment trip from Homestead, FL to Key West and discovered the Resort on the way. Since every hotel, B&B, and resort in Key West was booked, we began to search for a resort in Marathon and discovered Tranquility Bay. We could not have been happier. The front desk supervisor Miguel, was very helpful and extremely polite, and the stuff in general was some of the most professional and helpful I have ever experienced in a hotel. The room was a good size and had a walk-out balcony overlooking a courtyard fountain, a small swimming pool, and coconut trees. The resort has a total of 3 swimming pools and a private enclosed Beach swimming area. Iguanas run wild throughout the property common grounds and the sunset was picturesque. We hope to return in the not-so-distant future with our children to enjoy a longer family vacation!
From reservations to the entire guest experience the staff are very good. Highly recommend this resort.
The most amazingly peaceful, beautiful place on earth. The name truly captures what you feel when youre there. Not care in the world. Ever time you go there you forget about everything else and just want to live there forever. The bungalows are incredible and the food is five star. The beach area is private, the sand is white and the water is the beautiful aqua green clear. Tiki bar on the beach has the best drinks and food. The entire hotel staff are exemplary in their services to make you feel like youre the only guest at the resort. Most beautiful place on earth.
This 3 bedroom beach home was completely unsanitary. Large black hairs everywhere. They were in clean linens, beds, furniture, floors and even refrigerator. There was dried food and other substances on floor, toothpaste running down bathroom cabinets and even a dried contact stuck to bedroom floor. No surface had been wiped. The fridge was wiped as you could see the wipe circles still with dirty residue left on shelves. There was urine and feces running down the underside of the toilets.I have never seen a accommodation this dirty after we even waited 2 hours for it it be cleaned. There was a hard spring only king mattress in downstairs master. It was at least 10 years old and there was not mattress pad. The sheet was directly on top of dirty mattress and the sheet was inside out. There were blood stains on the master sheets upstairs. This is unacceptable in every way, especially with the Covid 19 pandemic. My family had to clean the entire place the first night as they did not have another room to offer. They only offered a refund of the initial deposit which was an insult. This was only after much hassle and having to share photos.
Service was terrible. Our last day of stay it rained early in the morning and the water sports service decided to close the rest of the day. Perfectly sunny out but they could not care less to come back. Front desk did not seem to care either since they are independent from them. The resort itself is not bad but extremely overpriced. $15 for a solo cups worth of a drink with hardly any alcohol in it. They’ll be glad to offer you a double then notice you of upcharge when they hand you your check. No room service, no breakfast, restaurant closes at 8??? Bar staff incredibly rude. Rooms are ordinary, tight beach houses that are glorified on their site. The water on the beach is disgusting and does not surprise me that I did not see one person in it all of our stay. Save your money and do not come here...it is anything but tranquil.
Positive: Amenities were great!
Decent place. Not much of a beach, but a tour guide mentioned that beaches in Florida usually arent that impressive due to the corals.
Beautiful resort! We had a wonderful time here. From enjoying the pool and beachfront to golfing in the evenings, we had no complaints. The resort is both relaxing and fun as there are tons of activities to enjoy. I especially enjoyed jet skiing and golfing. On top of the fun-filled activities, the rooms were very well maintained. The staff was great. We will definitely be returning soon! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing yet adventurous vacation getaway.
The whole resort was wonderful! Did a stay-cation for my birthday a couple of days ago and this was a perfect place for the occasion! Very clean and pleasant hotel. PLEASE do yourself a favor and ask for Angela! She is the absolute best and does not mind going above and beyond for any guests inconvenience. A total sweetheart.
Stayed there one night, wished we stayed there longer. Room was very comfortable for our family of five. The pool is awesome. Lots of shady areas to swim in. Plenty of seating and umbrellas (my husband got a sunburn in Miami so he needed lots of shade). The beach area was also really nice. The water was waist deep perfect for little kids. Lots of iguanas. It was cool to see them walk around and climb trees. I just want to add that we left our portable charger in the room. Realized we left it there three days later. Stopped by on our way home from Key West and they had it in lost and found.
Two kids and two adults away alone for the first time in a long time and it was perfect. The place is beautiful, the staff is great, the pricing is spot on. A beach front unit with a 1 minute walk through beautiful lanes to either of the pools was perfect. With all the mess going on in the world of travel and hospitality the guys at TJs and the staff at the Butterfly Cafe timed and coordinated meals for us and the kids without skipping a beat.We cannot wait to come back.
Location location, location! The townhouse was not clean, felt grimy and the bathtub was so dirty that I didn’t allow my grandson to take a bath. There was a fifty cent piece sized blood spot on a couch throw pillow that I had to report three times before someone actually picked it up and there were many stains on the rest of the couch, I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on the couch, so I mostly sat on the chairs. The dryer broke, but they promptly sent a repairman the following morning. I ended up with some sort of an itchy, bumpy red rash on both of my arms, still don’t know what caused this, never happened before. However, even with all of these issues I would still stay here again, because you can’t beat the location, amenities and the beauty of the property. We even found a baby nurse shark in the water at the private beach, soooo cool! If I could afford it I would buy a unit at this property, but immediately update it and make sure it is clean. The staff was awesome!!!!
This was my first time at this resort. After reading many many good reviews We decided to try it. I can honestly say that my experience was awesome just like the reviews that I had read. Everything was first quest from the day I checked in until the day I checked out. Even during these tough times with the Covid every time I turned around someone was wiping something down or cleaning. I particularly liked the fact that the hotel chose not to have your room serviced unless you called and asked. When I did call for fresh linens they were immediately brought to my room. I would highly recommend staying here and I will be back again in the future!
Not a family resort, is more like a religious retreat ....if you are looking for a place to pray and expend some time away from people, pollution, and noice ... this is your place.Yes, they take Medicare ...No music is allowed in the swimming pool or beach area.No drinks or food are allowed in the swimming pool or beach area.No laughing is allowed in the swimming pool or beach area.No smoking is allowed in the whole property... which is ok with me but ... I do enjoy a good Cuban cigar from time to time....Overall people are nice, good service, but too many rules.
TL;DR Definitely not a 4-star hotel and it’s not worth the money! Poor service (rude employees, dirty room, housekeeping only when you call and ask for it, no hot water) and a lot of noise on the property (service area) and around it: Turtle hospital on the left with washing cars and loud guided tours; a whole range of government buildings on the right with very loud construction noise all day long.In case you want more details:We saw reviews saying that some of the rooms were located close to the service area, so when we booked this hotel (~2 weeks before check-in) we reached out to the property and asked them to make sure that we would be staying in a quiet room far away from the service area.On check-in date we were driving from Miami to Key West and, as we were passing by the hotel around 11am we called them to ask if the room was ready for check-in. It wasn’t at that time (which was totally fine) but we were assured that everything will be ready by 4pm. When we returned at 5pm the room was still not ready and we had to wait for about 40 minutes to get the keys. To our surprise, the room that they finally gave us was exactly in the middle of the service area. When we told the front desk employee that we contacted the property 2 weeks in advance to avoid that, she turned hostile, rude, and disrespectful. It took us another 20 minutes to CONVINCE her to call the manager, as she was refusing to do so.After we spent another 30 minutes with the manager he offered us another room, but it didn’t have a bathtub, so after the manager assured us that despite the proximity of the service area, the first room was extremely quiet, we decided to stay there. We quickly realized that it was a mistake, as we spent the evening sitting on the balcony and listening to the sounds of trucks backing up and loading/unloading behind the building in the service area. The room was also far from perfect with mold and rust in the bathroom, but, of course, they did not have my others and it was already way too late for us to try to find another hotel for the same night, so we ended up being stuck at that place. In the morning we were woken up at 8am by the sound of cars being washed at the property left from the hotel, literally 20 feet away from our windows. As the noise didn’t stop 30min after we called the front desk, we decided to hide on the beach assuming that since we literally were at the farthest building from the beach, it should be quiet there. If only we knew that county’s building department, transportation department, and aqueduct authority were located on the right side from the property and the deafening construction noise coming from there only stops at night. There’s also a huge radio tower on the beach right next to the hotel. As if that wasn’t enough, there is a turtle hospital on the left from the hotel and they have group tours on the beach with narrating over a loud speaker. There is absolutely NO TRANQUILITY anywhere at the hotel. When we returned to the room in the evening laundry carts were surrounding the entrance to the building, however, no one bothered to even bring toiletries, let alone cleaning our room, so we had to call and arrange housekeeping.Later that day when we tried to fill a bathtub we realized that hot water stopped running before even a quarter of the tub got filled, and according to the maintenance guy who came to check on it, the tank in the room was too small to fill up the whole tub, so we had to wait until it heated up more water. What is the point of installing a bathtub in a room if you know that the water tank is to small for it???Our whole stay in the Keys turned out to be a series of disappointments because of that hotel, ruining the whole vacation. The hotel is not worth the money, and it’s definitely not a 4-star property, so I would either recommend to stay away from it or SIGNIFICANTLY lower your expectations.
Beautiful and serene location. Tranquility is exactly what you feel here. Nice accommodations similar to a small beach house with guest rooms upstairs and a nice living room and full kitchen downstairs. The downstairs sofa even converts to a sofa bed. Pretty good Wi-Fi too! The views of the ocean are amazing here and you get a great view of the sunset. They also have a small cove leading into the ocean and you can drag the beach chairs right into the water! Jet ski rentals are also a fun thing to do here. A quick 40 minute drive south puts you right in Key West where you can go and hang out then return back to the hotel for a nice dip in the pool. Last tip, stay and have dinner at the hotel restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Best resort in the Keys hand down! The room, property and service are second to none! We rented a townhouse that was waterfront and just steps to the beach. It was very spacious for the 5 of us and had a clever beach theme throughout. Entire property was clean and well landscaped. Breathtaking views of the sunset on the ocean and heat lighting after dark. Staff at the front desk was so friendly and you can tell they enjoy their positions here at the facility. Spacious pool and the Tiki bar on the beach was fun. From beginning to end our stay was flawless and we have visited many resorts. Tranquility Bay is our Favorite! I have posted pictures to show the actual views while on site which are breathtaking. While reading other reviews you will see some people complain about seaweed on the beach (that somehow the resort is suppose to clean after every tide) and Iguanas wandering the property which are actually fun to watch. To be clear this is common throughout the Florida Keys and present at every beach resort and property. If your blaming ANY resort for nature and native creatures it shows a lack of common sense and in no way is a fault of the facility. (just my 2 cents)Thanks for reading!
Love this place! Will definitely be back. Everything was very clean and organized. Loved the layout. Food was also awesome!
Absolutely wonderful place! Could not ask for more from a resort, very peaceful and relaxing, tranquility actually matches the place very well. Dining is a little more on the expensive side however there is plenty of options just outside the resort. Staff is very friendly, pools are very well maintained, drinks at the local bar are delicious. Would definitely recommend it to everyone. Family options are available too and its a very family friendly environment.
We booked super last minute and we were able to arrive at 1am after booking day of. We booked a 2 bedroom condo that a view of the ocean. It is a lovely property on the beachfront.A side note, being from Seattle I really like having a latte in the mornings. They do have an espresso maker in their restaurant but the staff do not know how to make it. Additionally, all of the places nearby only serve drip coffee. Also, the coffee in the room was horrible. Besides not having good coffee though, it was an excellent stay.
Perfect... great property, nice pool, clean, hot water in the shower, the bungalow we had was 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath, and it was perfect for us and another couple. The kitchen comes complete with all the basics if you want to cook in your space, but why would you go on vacation and then cook??? TVs in both bedrooms and downstairs. We would definitely go back!
Love this place. Its beautiful, clean, kid friendly but also for couples that want to get away. Food is delicious
We were expecting to have a positive experience given the reviews and the photos online, but unfortunately the 2 bedroom beachhouse we rented had an infestation of roaches. The kitchen was not cleaned thoroughly, we had to wipe and clean everything down seeing traces of oil in the paper roll. While we were cooking the first night, roaches started coming out from behind the stove, and later that night they were on top of the counter and floor. We went to sleep at 1 AM catching and disposing them, we took pictures and videos. We had these throughout our whole stay (4 days) in the kitchen area. We placed a complaint and they gave us some credit towards our balance, but that doesnt make up for the inconvenience we had throughout the whole stay. Other than this, the positives were the view, the comfortable master bedroom/balcony, and the well maintaned outdoors overall.
If you’re looking for a great place for your family to relax and enjoy - this would be the place. Thank You
The location and resort are ok. The customer service response is greatly lacking. We went to celebrate my daughters 1st birthday with family (booked 2 villas and 1 regular room) and we had a tropical storm form over us on one of the days causing us to have to stay in the villa all day and leave a night early. We asked if we could be refunded at least the resort fees for the final night of our stay since we couldnt utilize the resort because of the weather for half of our stay (1.5 days of the 3 day stay) and left a night early, and after much continued follow up and promises that someone would call back, they sent me a one-lined email saying they would not refund anything. I never received a call back or explanation. Furthermore, during the stay they would not clean or even send cleaning supplies for us to clean the villa during our stay (they only sent new towels when requested) and the villa itself was not that clean upon arrival--this is an upscale accommodation and I expected greater cleanliness especially considering the current environment. They cited covid rule restrictions for not being able to clean the villa during the stay but it seems like they did not even clean well in between stays.
Beautiful, well maintained property! Enjoyed the adult pool and beachfront chairs.
Wow they do honor the name. Is super quiet, clean and beautiful.
Beautiful location. We swam in the ocean and enjoyed the nice pools. The grounds are kept up well and the staff very friendly. We had take out from the restaurant on the grounds a few times because it was very good but feel overpriced along with the tiki bar drink prices. We had a problem with our room and the next morning, April, who works at the desk made it right by giving us an upgrade to a beachfront unit that we moved to and it was awesome, worth the work of having to move. Thank you April!
The resort was fantastic. Very relaxing and quiet. Room was great. Just my wife and I, a perfect getaway. Cant wait to take my kids here. They will love it. Perfect for families or couples. Amazing pool
Seems pretty expensive to me especially with limited service during pandemic. We had to ask for EVERYTHING during the stay. Resort fee is absurd. Theres nothing extra for this fee and they dont clean the pools very well. Theres black mold in the pools. I saw a fish on a sidewalk for days and iguana poop by the pool for days as well. Bed is uncomfortable; Ive tossed and turned for 4 nights. I seriously doubt Id ever come here again.
Very nice resort ..tiki bar..food was great ..room fantastic..would stay forever here..
My family and I live in Michigan and we wanted to come to Florida for vacation. This resort was the perfect place for us to stay, they have a beach, pool, cafe, and water activities you can do. It made our time in Florida amazing!
Beautiful resort! My favorite place to stay with kids in the keysStay in one of the places right on the beach(it is worth it). Love the beach bar especially the blueberry mojitos!
Do not book here. I have been trying to cancel my booking for July since the end of March due to the pandemic. You only get computers and can only leave an email on their website. When you finally get hold of the people at the desk they say that they cant cancel it for you. It has to be head office. Still have not received my refund of $1200. Will be seeking further action. I would give this resort zero stars if I could.
We absolutely loved our stay at Tranquility Bay. The 3 bedroom water view was spacious and the view was lovely. Our young children loved the pool. Butterfly Cafe is outstanding and the Yellow Tail Snapper was the best dish of our whole trip!! We can not wait to return.
Clean, quiet, multiple pools, great atmosphere, not crowded and some of the most stunning sunset views you can imagine. Beach bar is where you go and enjoy it even though the prices are a bit high the views make you forget it - simply amazing
We went with 6 couples and rented 2 units with joining pourches. Great memories and good times.
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.
Fantastic location, very friendly staff. perfect for a relaxing holiday. very comfortable rooms with a very functional kitchen.
The hotel hides among a line of well known resort properties. Nestled behind a green tropical hedge, it is easy to miss driving down Hwy 1. As you enter the immaculately groomed property you are met with the inviting tranquil vibe of the resort. It belies how large the resort is and how many great features it offers. This is a perfect spot for families, groups and couples. It is not designed for young revilers interested in a crazy party atmosphere. Stay at the resort to enjoy the three pools, soft white sands on the beach, water craft rentals, fantastic restaurant and sea side bar. It may be worth keeping the secret of this place to a few friends. We have marked it as our go-to accommodation whenever we are visiting the Keys.
Came there for a sisters trip, it was amazing! Better than what we expected. We got a 2 bedroom water view condo. Didn’t have much kitchen utensils or pots/pans, but that didn’t hinder our vacation. I can’t wait to come back with my family. It truly is a great resort. Very clean! Even the sea grass didn’t ruin the swimming. Lots of iguanas everywhere, but they didn’t bother us. We slept with the doors open, it was a beautiful sight to wake up to every morning! If you can make it, stay here. It truly is beautiful. I will be back one day, maybe this will be our next family reunion location
I went on vacation with a group of friends for the week. Rooms were nice; even had a washer/dryer plus full kitchen. The staff were friendly. Nice pool area with beach just a short walk out from your porch. Would recommend for others.10/10
This is a beautiful resort with swimming pools, putting greens, water sports and a Tiki Bar right on a white sandy beach. We stayed in a two bedroom townhouse with a full kitchen and laundry in our condo. I highly recommend this piece of paradise and look forward to a return visit.
Love this place! Super clean and great staff!! Cannot wait to go back!
We had a two bedroom apartment with a full size kitchen that opened up onto the small swimming bay area. The accommodation was excellent and in a good location to reach the other keys; we went down to Key West and visited a few neighbouring islands as well. The restaurant served very good food however we only went twice because it was expensive and there were many other food options nearby that we thought we should try out. The Tiki Bar by the beach wasnt so good - the cocktails were mediocre at best and any food ordered there was brought out from the main restaurant in take-away boxes.
We had a great time. The resort was lovely. Unfortunately, I left a set of Apple Earbuds in the unit when we checked out. I called three times after realizing my error and no one at the resort could be bothered to go look in the unit (38) for them. I knew exactly where they were
We have been staying at Tranquility Bay for many years. It is our favorite place in the keys. The setting is beautiful and the staff is friendly. The on-site Butterfly Cafe is lovely and we enjoy lunch at the Tiki hut.I happened to notice a nasty review and I know exactly who is writing the false accusations bc we had them evicted for their obnoxious behavior. The staff took care of the situation immediately. Apparently the group didn’t understand the meaning of the word Tranquility. We can’t wait to return for our annual vacation!!
Extremely beautiful place. Wildlife was amazing. NO smoking on premises at all. I was not happy with that at all. You literally had to walk off property to smoke or there is a $500 A DAY fee. Would never return. Unless that rule was removed. If you are a nonsmoker then this is the place for you.
This place is nothing like the website or photos. I am honestly starting to think most of the good reviews are just fake. The place itself is beautiful but the rooms are substantially over priced, small, dirty, broken, old. We found hairs of other people in our bed sheets, dirty floors, rusted mirrors, ceiling dripping water, super tiny showers, no water pressure and the list goes on. Stay away and save your money
We found a cheap deal for two nights in January for their basic rooms, which are enormous and weirdly empty. The building design felt like an apartment rather than a hotel, but the rooms need a better layout. From the photos, it looks like the villas and beachfront rooms look significantly more comfortable.During January, the sea grass is everywhere so you really cant use the beach. There are several pools to choose from and various water-sports options. On-site, there is a restaurant but it didnt look very bright or inviting, so we skipped it. The main lobby is just a desk with a person - there is no coffee, breakfast, or anything at all. Its sparse to say the least. This was fine for a couple of days as a base to explore the area but we expected more. Perhaps with a different room (and a kitchen), it may be have been better.
We love this place! We finally made it back down here. The staff is very nice and our condo is just as nice as the last time we were here!
Great spot. Really enjoyed my time here. Truly a “getaway”
Very tranquil indeed! Nice large pool. Nice beach with some snorkeling opportunities. Houses are big, very suitable for families. Kitchen has everything you need. Supermarket very close. Havent tried the (expensive) restaurant.
Recommend to anyone for a family stay.
Reading some of these reviews Im shocked. They advertise locals get discount, we didnt. When we checked into our room, we wiped everything down and it was gross. The mattress was so old, it was covered in stains, which we didnt see till we checked out and very uncomfortable. Atleast 20 years old. Barely anyone was wearing a mask, including staff. Tiki bar staff was amazing!! Thats about all the positive I can say unfortunately
Excellent my place. My family loves it.Miguel was very helpful
Visiting this upcoming weekend, and already from the customer service through the reservation process, I am impressed. Looking forward to much needed sunshine and Keys hospitality.
Great little resort. Awesome views with a lot of cool amenities. One of the biggest pools in the keys! Also your private little beach to go swimming as well. Sunsets are unreal
Tranquility Bay delivered the impossible - a perfect Keys getaway - with 4 teens and 2 parents all having a blast! From Angela and Apvril greeting us on arrival to the spacious townhouse to the Tikibar at the cove, we loved it. A big Thanks to the lovely staff. Well definitely be back!
Great place for couples and families with young kids. Quiet and relaxing.
Beautiful and amazing staff. Bob and Jasmine were so accommodating. We will be back over and over again.
Beautiful place with great amenities and an amazing location.
Tranquility Bay is an absolute paradise in the middle Florida Keys! It is incredible how pristine this resort is only 1 year after the devastating Hurricane Irma. We could not tell that any damage was done to this resort. The beautiful plantation-style accommodations are stylish, fresh, and comfortable with gorgeous views from the windows. We loved relaxing on the porches and balconies, too. It was also a delight to walk the grounds and study the variety of tropical plants and gaze at the immaculate landscaping. The large heated pool was dreamy to swim in and was also surrounded by beautiful gardens and palms. We ate a fabulous meal at the onsite restaurant and tremendously enjoyed the view and service at the ocean-side Tiki Bar. The staff in every way were gracious and eager to fulfill any request. We travel extensively to tropical destinations and this first class resort was one we did not want to leave!
