A beautiful peaceful place to stay, clean very nice rooms. Staff were very nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend to friends and family.
My husband & I LOVED our stay here for 5 days in room #2. Great location & staff was very friendly & helpful! It was a warm week, but we loved sitting out on our shaded patio area & lying on the beach in the chaise lounges, hammocks, & swings & enjoying the beautiful view!! I would highly recommend staying here & we will definitely be back!
I just finished up with my second visit to Seascape Resort & Marina. I happened upon it in a last minute booking on my travels throughout the Keys. I’m so happy I did. I am in love with the grounds at night. Such beautiful lighting and scenery. They even have bikes to use for free on your stay! The rooms are a little small, but very well maintained and decorated. I absolutely love Jen, the sweet woman who manages this property. Awesome customer service. I’m impressed
Pros: quiet facility, nice views of the ocean, easy and close parking to the room, free bikes and kayaks, cold pool, and a little off the main street. Cons: no air vent or fan in the bathroom so it was always really hot, only one mirror in the whole room and bathroom, no light above the shower so it was really dark, futon was almost unsleepable, super small room, had to plunge the toilet myself after we checked in and it was clogged from the previous guests staying there, small TV, super thin walls so we could hear people on all sides of us, not a great A/C system, super spotty WiFi and cell service wasnt great.
My wife and I decided to stay at this place because it wasnt a big chain and it had really good reviews. I WISH I HAD STAYED AT THE CHAIN! I work on commission...so, if I dont work I dont get paid. I had planned on working in the morning and at night and the hotel said they had WiFi on their site. They had it but the router in our room did not work properly thus I had wifi only one morning and they couldnt move me or do anything about it because they are a small place and they were full. Mainly fishermen. The front desk kept blaming it on the wind but it worked fine in the main lobby but when I would go to my room it wouldnt work. The router was extremely old. To top it off, I had to keep climbing on a chair and unplugging the router to reboot it and like I said, it only really worked one morning. They had xfinity come out and instead of replacing the OLD router with a new one they went in our room while we were gone after I got it to work and messed with the router. Again...no service! I literally ask them to cancel the appointment with xfinitty and not mess with it. Nah!There were ants in the bathroom enjoying themselves, the bed was extremely noisy and the walls were paper thin! In the sitting area, I could hear the people in the room connected to ours snoring each morning. The pictures are way better than the actual place. I really think I deserve a refund for at least one night for them not providing WiFi like their site stated. Look elsewhere!
Good place for getaway. Beach isnt necessarily the kind of beach that you would imagine as far as swimming at but it was still nice, pleasant, and a clean place to relax. Nice pool. Kayaks and paddle boards in good condition. Overall satisfied with the stay
Quaint and cozy property off the path and very well kept. Staff was extreme professional and attentive to our needs. Will definitely stay there again
First time at this place. It looks nice and has a pool/boat ramp/kayaks to rent. Boat ramp is difficult if you have an over 20 ft boat. Down fall is that you can hear everything through the walls and ceiling. We stayed in a room where they had a bright blue light on outside the window every night which kept my boyfriend and I from sleeping. The front desk girl with glasses and curly hair, andy? I think is her name not sure since i only saw her the day i was leaving. Anyway she decided to spread gossip to my boyfriend about me hanging with neighbors 2 nights prior to our checkout. Stating I was loud and obnoxious, but seemed to know my boyfriend off of a first impression stating to him that he is so calm and chill and that im the complete opposite. My boyfriend was there the entire time and stated himself i was not being obnoxious or loud just that I had a few drinks. Which its the keys thats what you do on vacation ha. He was shocked that this woman was trying to speak down on me and then go on to hit on my boyfriend. Also telling him to come back and say bye to her before he leaves. What kind of person does that? Hire people that have respect. That is completely unprofessional and we will not be returning.
Totally remodeled owner very pleasant. We were a party of 6 had a great time. This was our first time staying here and would most definitely stay again. Staff was very pleasant, clean rooms and clean pool. Docks are brand new built also has own boat slip. Come with your boat and have it docked on premises. We stayed in room 10 which has room for 6 adults own kitchen ac worked excellent. I have no complaints at all.
Had a great time and huge clean room. Definitely will come back here next year.
From the moment we spoke with Tisa on the phone to make a reservation, to the moment of check out, everything exceeded our expectations, and my wife and our best friend I all work in the hospitality industry - we have very high standards and expectations. The room was immaculate and updated with a surprisingly large bathroom, a modern interior and crisp linens. The grounds were beautiful, with Royal Poinciana trees in full orange bloom, and a beautifully maintained and landscaped lawn. The pool and deck were perfect, with great lounge chairs and unique hanging chairs. The beach access was immaculate, and the amenities were a wonderful added value. We rode bikes, kayaked and went fishing (we caught some great fish!). There were three of us and the room was ample with a very comfortable extra bed. Everyone in our party was pleased and very impressed - this resort is a fantastic value! Don’t miss it - you’ll be glad you stayed. We will return.Thank you, Tisa! See you soon.
The staff was very friendly, the resort had a beautiful view with a pool and had games and books to loan out in the lobby. We were very comfortable and the resort was nice and quiet. We will stay there again next year when we return to the area.Thank youTerry Cowick
This hotel or Ill say motel is overrated, I got room number #3 which was very small, no closet area, no microwave, no toaster, no bathtub, no ocean view, basically everything that I had requested and promised was not in my room, when I spoke to the front desk, she gave me some nonsense excuse that it was booking. com fault for advertising this things that they dont have in the room that I was staying, not only that I stayed for a weekend Aug 17-19, and couldnt sleep a night, you can hear absolutely everything from neighbors the room walls are made out paper :(, the hotel smelled so bad, just like sewer lines, there was seaweed all over the dock area, when I asked her about the smell she said the lost their pumping system in the hurricane, that happened a year ago, SERIOUSLY can you replace it???? I asked her for some beach towels and she gave me 2 with Hugh holes all over, this place is a joke. Also they advertise a beach, there is no beach here for you to go out swim, its just good to go kayaking.Dont let them trick you with the nice pictures on the web!(The microwave you see on the pic its the one that was in the office, I had to argue with the front desk for 15 minutes for them to give me the microwave).PS: Our friends stayed at Captains pips marina and its much better then this place only 5 minutes away with beautiful sunsets and water views, I highly recommend if youre heading to Marathon and the price better then this location..The only good thing about this hotel was the new AC Unite, and the free Kayaks, fishing poles and paddle boards that you can use any time, also two bicycles that you can ride around! The outdoors entertainment (pool area) was nice but smelled to bad, you cant really enjoy it!!!
This is old Florida . We really like the setting- rooms were refurbished and clean. We would have liked a larger room with a sofa, but it was still a great place to stay. Wonderful location- well be back.
Amazing location, right on the ocean. Lovely, resort like property with nice pool area and plenty of space. Loved the iguanas!! Onsite host was very friendly and helpful.Room was very well renovated but a bit basic - not much storage for clothes, a/c very loud all the time, bed super soft. But location made up for all that.
Excellent spot, Andi the hotel manager was great, extremely accommodating.
Clean room. Good service. Clean pool. Only, lot of seaweed..( nature cause).
The room was very nice, the bed was comfy, but the shower water never got hot. Luke warm at best, and yet the bathroom sink got hot water. The staff moved us to another room, but we got the same result. Although we didnt take advantage of the amenities, there were bikes, kayaks, a pool and a paddle board for our use. There are lots of restaurants within a few minutes. Be aware of the cancellation policy.
The place is amazing with stunning views, properly maintained and the room is very clean and nice but the blanket was not provided on the bed and we had to use a throw placed in the walking closet and the quality of the bed is very poor and should be replaced immediately. We had very bad pains in the night and woke up multiple times because of the bed.
I dont know if it was because they had finished some updates and renovations recently before I went, but the rooms (we rented 3 of them) were all great. 2 of our rooms had great water views. Quiet, relaxing location. Managers and owners were great! Very accommodating, and tried to make the stay relaxing. Would love to go again soon.
Beautiful resort literally on the water! Pool on the beach!
Perfect setting for an ocean front get away! Close to great restaurants and a beautiful drive to Key West.
Really nice and cozy for a couple...
We just got back from a one week stay at Seascape. We booked room 7 which had a small kitchen with full size fridge, full size coffee pot, dishes etc. A large number of pros and just a few cons.Pros:1. The views are incredible. We felt as though we had the place to ourselves.2. Laid back, relaxing vibe. It may be too quiet for some but it is just what we needed.3. The kitchen in our room.4. The staff is great. Very friendly.5. Tons of places to sit outside.Cons:1. Lots of noise from above. Thankfully it was only one night had it been more it would have been a lot to ignore. This was not do to construction it is just that loud with people in the room above.2. The metal table and 2 small chairs were not that functional.3. A dresser would have been nice.4. Someone could check the grills and fire pit more frequently to make sure they are ready for use.Overall, it was a great stay and if we are in Marathon we will book at Seascape again.
Lovely property in a great location.
Great value! Its on the ocean and kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, and fishing poles are available to use for free!
This hotel is not honest ! Due to COVID 19, I had to cancel my booking that was without cancellation fees. 2 months after, I haven’t received my money back and the hotel doesn’t answer me!
Cute little place away from the bigger hotels but close enough to some nice restaurants and bars. Clean and with love in every detail! Kayaks, hammocks, fire pit and little cozy seating areas - had an amazing stay here! Thank you
Hidden gem in a perfect location with a lot of options ( pool, free kayaking). Excellent room
Great place when visiting the keys. Friendly staff, good rooms, beach and pool ️
Been coming to Marathon for years the place I always stayed at was hurt really hard by the hurricane. Found Seascape and decided to check it out. It is amazingly clean and very nice. I am very picky about clean and this place is clean !!! The room number 11 was very large for the 4 of us. Great place clean pool and great location. Check it out..
WARNING!STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THIS PEPOLE DOESNT DESERVE ANY BUSINESS.i made a booking for this place 2 days ago and today i realise i made a mistake with the dates and needed to push my reservation 24 Hr forward. they had no availability for the day after which is understandable.at this point they refuse to cancel my reservation free of charge and decided to charge me the full amount even though they can rent the room again in 10-15 min due to a high season. people who only care about the extra buck in their pocket and have very little knowledge in doing business.STAY AWAY!!
I stayed here for 5 days and this place was amazing! They have kayaks, fishing poles, paddles boards & bikes for you to use and they also have a private beach and pool, our room was nicely updated & they upgrade our room when we got there! And as a plus side there was a mom & baby manatee that we saw quite a few times right in the marina!!
Great place, friendly staff and awesome views.....we will definitely try to book this resort again for our vacay.....
Fantastic beach front location with nice pool and flood lit pier to view fish at night
Clean and big enough for five people also have swimming pool
Do not hesitate to stay here!!! If youre looking for a quiet, low-key place to sit and watch the water youve found it. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. There are plenty of places to sit throughout the property and everything is well maintained. The rooms are super clean, cool and beds are comfy. They furnish a small fridge, coffeemaker, and small microwave. We didnt intend to cook so that was plenty. We love the convenience of it but that is tucked away. We felt like we had our own private island. When we checked in we were given a map and told of some great highlight restaurants and activities. They have been on-point. We are out everyday and didnt have a bad mean anywhere. There are kayaks, bicycles, and boardgames available---no rent/cost.If there were 10 Stars thats what Id give them. Do not come looking for a party atmosphere here! This is for relaxing We would definitely make this a regular trip if not for the distance from Tennessee. But it sure was worth the drive!
The sea grass smell was awful
I loved the place! Very clean and neat. Spacious two bedroom apartment with everything you need to have a great time with your family.
Absolutely loved this resort. Friendly staff. Very accommodating. Its the slow season down in the Keys right now so our room was upgraded to room #12. Very nicely remodeled private room, with a kitchenette. My husband and I had every intention on bringing the fishing ploes... oops we forgot them. No worries Sea Scape Resort & Marina have some for you to borrow... and provide free bait. The pool is nice and I loved seeing all the iguanas. Just paradise. Definitely would recommend this resort
It is quite and peaceful but not much to do. Good for local people to escape the cuties and relax at this quiet place or take thier boat to calm water. But no sandy beach. Water is overgrown with see weed and smel dead fish.
It was a beautiful, clean, fun-filled place for my whole family. I would recommend it to everyone. It was the most relaxing place Ive been to yet. Cant wait to stay again.
Great little resort! Quiet, relaxing, beautiful views and fantastic staff! Grills, kayaks, bikes, paddleboards available to guests too!
Perfect place to relax, friendly staff, super clean and comfortable. LOVED IT!!!
Nice hotel 47 miles to key west
We truly enjoyed our stay at seascape! We felt like it was our own private piece of the beach! The rooms were updated and very clean. Beds were comfortable. We will definitely stay there again!
Very private..beautiful view, great staff, super clean rooms
This place is very charming. Has awesome island vibe. Great pool and great staff. Free rentals of kayaks and paddle boards. Boat ramp is very steep. Rooms are very nice.
The grounds and hotel are very lovely, but when its low tide the smell is disgusting and makes it difficult to sit outside. Also, they need to pump water into the dock area to clean up the disgusting muck that is flowing on top The beach area, room, landscaping, pool and view of the ocean is very beautiful and kept very nice. Please ask for all rules prior to checking in, which are not posted online. No guests are allowed on the property at any time, which I did not know ahead of time. I was very very disappointed in the management for not making this clear to guests ahead of time. Rules are rules, but please MAKE THE GUESTS AWARE BEFORE THEY BOOK.
We had a great time, place was clean, staff friendly.
Great place to relax staff very friendly and accommodating. Staff was very helpful when it came down to locations to visit. We came from a diffrent county wondering where to visit but with the staffs help we had no problem. Resort accommodates with Kayaks, pool, fishing rods, hammock near the water, corn hole and new dock for your boat with slip on premises. Facility gives you easy access to ocean side and bayside.
Beautiful resort,spectacular wedding venue.
Outstanding time was had by all. Thanks
I think the word for this place is “overrated.” It’s not awful. You could do worse than stay here. It’s a nice, quiet spot along the water in Marathon, away from the traffic on Rt. 1. They have a nice pool with a view of the ocean. You’ll rest and relax. You just need to keep your expectations low.First off, they advertise that it’s on a beach, which technically it is – a very tiny one. But you can’t swim there. They do have kayak, paddle boards, and fishing poles for your use. So that’s cool. And the view is very nice. But they use the term “resort” to describe this place and they charge resort prices. That is the biggest problem, which makes me not want to cut them much slack. A resort would maybe have a restaurant, or at least free ice (you have to buy it here for $3). A resort would have front desk staff that was there into the evening so you’d have someone to go to when you have no hot water in your shower (as I did). The building feels like it was once someone’s larger house that they chopped up into different small rooms. The standard rooms are very small. It was just me there and I kept knocking my knee into the sharp corner of the bed and bumping into the cheap aluminum table and chairs, which isn’t big enough for one person to eat or work on. I also have to turn sideways to fit through the bathroom door (I am not a big person), and there is zero room for your toiletries, or your suitcase for that matter. This is not a resort. It’s a motel that is tastefully appointed. The rooms are fresh and clean (sadly, a result of the recent hurricane rebuild). The air-conditioner is fantastic. It actually dehumidifies the room, which is tough to find in Florida hotels. And the view from the pool – not your room – is great. So come and enjoy it and don’t think about how much money it’s costing you or how many times you bump into the furniture in your tiny room.
What a great gem in the Florida Keys. We felt like we were right at home the whole time we were here. Comfortable and quiet. Sophia helped us when we needed. We used the kayaks, the hammock on the beach and loved the pool area. And Marathon is a great central location to see the Keys.
Very cozy nice staff
Lovely place, rooms & enviroment.
Great place. Friendly staff. We lucked out when we booked there. Clean, nice location, on the ocean. Nice get away place. Enjoyed our stay there. Sofia very accommodating.
Was really beautiful, and perfect for my family vacation! Had dock space for my rental boat, great facilities at the hotel and perfectly located. Rooms were really REALLY nice and updated. Couldnt say a bad thing even if I wanted to! Coming back soon for family reunion!
Right on the water. Friendly staff. Beautiful and clean room. Wine at 5 pm.
This place is truly a hidden gem, great for families or those who treasure the tranquility of a peaceful atmosphere. The resort is tucked back next to the water behind a quiet neighborhood with great views for those who admire Gods art work.Their kyacks and paddleboards are complimentary and the water is calm, without wake for a great experience and possible manatee sighting as we did . The piers have seating and lights in the water for watching water life after dark. If you like sun bathing in the sand there are lounge chairs and hammocks and if you dont enjoy the sand so much the pool has lounge chairs. There are fire pits, grills and the rooms have dishes. We had the pleasure of staying in room 12 which is a separate building from the main building with a front door facing the fire pits, tables and chairs and a back sliding doors with its own patio and chairs, ground floor with a view of the open water. Didnt see the other rooms but 12 was very large, clean and kept in great condition. Sombrero beach isnt far as well as lots of other activities you can engage in. There are many good restaurants for dining, shops for finding that perfect swimsuit or that gift your wanting to give someone. Publix ( major grocery store )isnt far. Marathon is definitely a key worth visiting, youll make memories thatll be charished for a life time.
We stayed here for 5 nights. While we somewhat enjoyed our stay, we agree that we wouldn’t stay here again. Upon arriving in the room, we were greeted by the most foul odor of backed up sewage. My husband said it was like staying in a porta potty. When we spoke to the people staying in the room next to us, they said their room smelled awful as well. There were ants in the bathroom. The room we stayed in (3) was very small and we kept bumping our knees on the end of the bed.The property does have some good amenities. The pool is very nice with a view of the water. They offer bikes to ride and kayaks and fishing poles/bait. They also have grills. This property would be excellent for people bringing their boat with them. The docks were closed for construction following the hurricane.Ultimately, the biggest issue was one staff member. On Saturday we had family that was staying elsewhere come to our hotel for the pool and grilling. They stayed for several hours on Saturday with no problem. On Sunday my family came again to meet up before we went boating and we jumped in the pool real quickly to cool off. Immediately a staff member came over yelling at us that absolutely no guests were allowed on property. I understand that that may be the rule but her yelling and attitude really was uncalled for.
First of all, I will say that the location and the grounds of this resort are absolutely beautiful - they have done a fabulous job getting it back up after Irma. We had stayed at Seascape many years ago with previous owners and loved it. We decided to give it another try and we were so disappointed. We booked Unit #9 - advertised as an apartment with a full kitchen. When we went to wash some dishes, we turned on the hot water - nothing. Just gurgling. I immediately went downstairs to talk to the clerk and she said Oh, theres never been any hot water in that kitchen. She basically offered nothing except that we could boil water to wash our dishes. I was livid. I spoke to the manager the next day and she also said Oh, theres never been any hot water in that kitchen. She finally agreed to talk to the owner about a discount, but I was left with the impression that I was crazy to complain about it. We ended up washing our dishes in the kitchen sink. We did finally get a nice discount on the room rate, but still were left with a bad taste for a room that cost over $300 per night. We should have been forewarned when we checked in and had to initial and sign 10 different releases and a half page of legalese. Other issues we had with the room:- The room next door is a 2-bedroom apt and in our 5-day stay we had 2 families with running screaming children. The wall are THIN!- The furniture in the room looked nothing like the ones on the website. Management said thats all brand new furniture!. All from IKEA - cheap metal tables. Also there was no dresser or anything with drawers in the bedroom so nowhere to put your non-hanging clothes.- The WIFI was non-existent in the living area. To get a consistent signal, you had to stand in the kitchen.- The A/C was very noisy and wasnt able to control the moisture in the rooms. We had to get fresh towels every day because they never dried, and our pills turned to goo from the humidity. There are so many good reviews of this resort - we must have just picked the wrong room. But based on our experience and reading managements response to other negative reviews on other sites, they seem to be more defensive than concerned about complaints.
A very comfortable hotel. Enjoyed our stay very much.
I was initially mesmerized by the coziness of the motel, a spacious efficiency and pretty campus. But a sour taste was left in my mouth, however, when I was told “time to leave” approximately an hour after checking out. The managers reasoning for doing so was according to her: people are starting to check in. As I have been to resorts where you are permitted to remain on the property all through the day of check out and considering the abundance of activities there are to do at Seascape, kayaking, pool, and beach, I was a little surprised by this; especially as I was simply relaxing in the waterfront area and the resort was rather empty of patrons. And because I did not see how my presence enjoying the ammeneties affected other guests arriving. Since I had checked in late the previous night, you would think that even if this were motel policy that there would be some flexibility. It certainly would have been more welcoming to embrace our enjoyment of the facilities. Other than that the place was rather nice considering the amount of damage they had sustained from Hurricane Irma. And yes there are iguanas.
Clean, quaint, quiet. Greta place with many rooms to choose from. Friendly staff. Great beach and swimming pool. Nice boat ramp and property has ice vending and multiple BBQs. We clean our catch right on the dock and grill it up for dinner.
Beautiful grounds and wonderful people. The owners are amazing and very accommodating, theres fire pits and kayaks and hammocks to sit in by the ocean. The rooms are clean and comfortable!
A slice of heaven in Marathon Fl. Private beach, great customer service, private dock, kayaks, paddle boards, and peace and quiet. We had the best stay. We stayed in room 12 which is a remodeled stand alone building.
LOVE this place clean and beautiful with a peaceful vibe. Perfect weekend getaway!
I loved it a little paradise, very relaxing, very quiet which I love . The pool was clean and the room in excellent conditions, I’m a clean freak And at this hotel I had no need to reclean everything.the beds were comfy, bathroom was nice and clean, room service cleans it everyday.staff was friendly. Will always come back here .
Beautiful little resort with a great private beach and pool! Free kayak and paddle board rentals were definitely a plus. Cute, clean rooms and bathrooms. Looking forward to returning to Seascape very soon!
Fabulous place great pool and views super staff and very clean.
Free use of bikes kayak fishing poles. Rooms were noisy with paper thin walls
Its an amazing place very quiet and clean with its own private beach . The employees are very helpful and friendly I know this is the best place Ive spent my vacation time at and would recommend it to anyone who asks where to stay .
Great staff and clean rooms. Nice place
Great location very clean pool and staff were amazing.
My wife and I spent 3 nights at Seascape in April 2013. The location is perfect...very quiet (off of the main road) and right on the ocean. Marathon was a great place to stay to explore all the Keys have to offer. The motel was very clean and well kept....nothing fancy, but a perfect place to get a taste of the real Keys. We thought it was much nicer than other Marathon motels we checked out, which were mostly right on Rt. 1. The owner mentioned they have a lot planned for the property, so it can only get better! It was a great value and we enjoyed our stay. We hope to be back!
Very nice. Peaceful.
What a quaint Old Florida gem! The motel is nothing fancy but clean, charming, and quiet. It sits on the back of a residential neighborhood directly on the ocean. We will be back.
Grounds were beautiful, pool nice but not heated. Wasnt told that they dont clean the rooms until you leave, sorry Im on vacation I didnt want to have to make my bed.Air-conditioning unit so loud had to shut it off so I could sleep.Doing construction work till 8pm in the office, couldnt enjoy the fireplace outside due to saws running cutting tile.Saturday the construction work continues till 12pm. Asked when they were finishing up they said noon.Listen people Im on vacation I dont think I should be listening to saws, nail guns ect at the resort that I paid good money to relax at.Staff was friendly but ask first if they are doing construction work before you book here.
Without a doubt, the most wonderful place on Marathon. The owner is in touch with what the Keys should be. Relax, and enjoy the Keys.
Awesome place. Paradise.
Super friendly staff, great location, right on the beach.
A great little place.Clean, friendly and priced right.Like the best kept secret in Marathon.
