Amazing landscape that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a resort tucked away in the jungle. I didn’t stay at Isla Bella but stayed nearby and visited to watch the sunset with a drink on the beach. They arranged groups of Adirondack chairs in a beachside grove of coconut palms. There were life size chess boards set up to play and a large game of trivia being played nearby. Drinks were great but the ambiance really made the experience. I wish they had put a bit more soft top sand on the hard packed crushed shell mix, but that will loosen up after some time.

Beautiful property. We stayed in the king suite with the kitchenette and with the walk out porch that takes you directly onto the sand. Resort was very clean. As we were there the week before the week before Thanksgiving, it wasnt busy at all. And with the COVID spike, we felt totally safe and able to socially distance easily. Really enjoyed the outdoor seating with firepits along the water for a nightcap. Shady areas with wooden beach chairs for relaxing. Pools everywhere. Gorgeous landscaping and areas to explore. Sunset pier was the perfect place to watch the sun sink into the horizon. Staff was energetic, friendly and service-oriented. Added bonus is the pair of manatees who visited the canal next to the marketplace every day. You can get up close and personal with them.Only two negatives. Photos on the website show the beach dropping into the water. Not so. There is a line of marsh grass and shrubbery between the beach and the water. There is a small cove area where you could get directly into the ocean, but not outside the rooms. Second negative was the patios are directly next to each other. From the porch chair you can reach over to your neighbors patio. Because the resort was pretty empty, we didnt have to deal with loud groups, but during high season when every room is booked, youd definitely get to know your neighbors. So take this into account when you book.

We got in on Thanksgiving night. We had a rough start with the hotel, but the manager Andres went out of his way to let us know we were important. He took great care to solve our problems and help us have a great trip. Super cool independent boutique hotel. Lots of activities every day for the kids too. Highly recommend.

I really thought the resort was wonderful. We were upgraded on check in and the suite was amazing. The drink prices are fair. The restaurant is pricey and not the best on the island. The room service fees are steep and theres nothing after 10pm. But that is literally the only issue we had.The staff were kind and amazing. Shout out to Ethan for all his help with the activities.

Had the chance to go snorkeling at a beautiful reef and if it werent for the time constraint I wouldve went scuba diving. The room was comfortable with a pleasant porch outside. Many pools, a restaurants and bars to enjoy. Highly recommended even at these tough times.

Relaxed setting. More of a family resort than a couples retreat. Il Positano Restaurant has delightful outdoor seating. Attractive new resort with average service. They advertise that you get a free pen and bike rental but most everything else is an extra cost. It cost us $984.00 for a two night stay, King room, food and beverages (No alcohol)

Check in - Average, rushed, mechanicalRoom - Beautiful, clean, comfortableGrounds - Well maintained, but sterile overallBeach - Small, shallow, full of seaweed. Not really used by anyone. To be fair, the Keys are not known for their beaches.Pools - no limits on occupancy, etc.Staff - I think most of them are on work-release or indentured servants. Most of the staff does not seem happy nor trained in any level of service that would be expected at a resort at this price point. This is where this place falls flat and why I wont return.Beach Bar - Beautiful. But good luck getting a drink or food. Place is empty yet have to continually get up from table and chase someone down to get service. No customer service, smiles, enthusiasm, etc. The staff at Isla Bella creates an absolutely dull vibe unfortunately.Value - definitely not. At $150-175/night, its fine. At $500/night, not a chance.Isla Bella - if you actually read reviews, which I gather you dont as service issues are mentioned continually, get yourself a GM or Dir of Training that actually has some hospitality experience and TRAIN YOUR STAFF. Customer service matters.

The site is wonderful. They have amazing hotel rooms. Clean crispy fresh white. Modern without fuzz. Plenty of space to feel on your own. Amenities are well thought. Architectural wise is beautiful and very stylish. Restaurant is beautiful and decor and style high end.The food is terrible though. The have an awesome opportunity to have 5 stars. But food.. food sucks. How can a fried fish not have flavor? Lobster bisque heavy in cream and no freshly squeezed juices or smoothies for breakfast. Also when bringing food to beach and pool area, PLASTIC! Unforgivable!

If you like paying for an overpriced ocean view suite with a “private” veranda, “beach” access, and excessive resort fees to include a destination fee then this is the place for you.Enjoy a beautiful veranda with all the other guests next to you, above and below you while breathing the relaxing aroma of skunky weed all day while they speak loudly to one another even though they are sitting less than 1 foot away from one another while their kids run around the resort unattended screaming until midnight each night. Hey, it’s their world we just live in it.Dine in only one overpriced restaurant if you’re fortunate enough to get a reservation and order drinks from the Beach Bar at the pool but make sure you go pick up your drink because they forgot about you. As you relax in one of their many pools that they will close randomly you can enjoy random children cannonballing around you with no adult supervision present. And you’ll get extra exercise carrying your own bags to and from your room after you park your car after being charged a sweet parking fee. While staying here book a subpar fishing charter with the company they use where you are charged for 4 hours of fishing but 2 of those hours you get to experience them going to get their bait, checking their bait traps, going to their bait shop to pick up bait to restock those traps. You might actually catch a fish in between all this. Oh and how can we forget the welcoming reception you’ll receive upon arrival. Enjoy!

Amazing on site bars and restaurant, and this is hands down the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in. Ive traveled to several and many other countries doing all inclusive and this is by far the most relaxed and impressive room Ive stayed in. This hotel has completely turned me on to Molton Browns products and will be spending my annual anniversary here. Thank you so much to all the friendly staff, and bartenders! We enjoyed panoramic views of the ocean from our balcony, rented kayaks, relaxed by the pool, and enjoyed delicious food/drinks all weekend! This resort does laps around the majority of if not all of the other similarly high end hotels in the entire Keys! Such a shame...Super location despite not being on soft white sand as the website pictures led us to believe. This brochures at 4.5 stars and I’d say that is mostly down to location. The service at the restaurants is seriously lacking. Incorrect orders delivered to your table is a common theme as are long wait times despite being at 50% capacity due to CV19. Lord only knows what its like at peak capacity.Even more disappointing is that they reserve one of their pools for private use at $1000 per day. During our 1 week stay it was never used and the common pools were over subscribed leaving no chance for social distancing. Friends of ours who had noted this asked if they could open it up after 3pm, when nobody in their right mind would pay $1000 for minimal time and they still said no. Leaving that family with no pool time due to all others being busy. Very poor given the pool was empty.Overall I’m disappointed, not in the location, nor the appointments which were of great quality overall. Its just the staff, the management and general care that lacks 4 stars and no chance of 5.We live only 3hrs away and would love to come back but not under its current management style. Good luck Isla Bella I do hope you improve, your guests deserve better. I know its within you.

Honeymoon - we spent 6 days/6 nights at Isla Bella for our honeymoon. We were very pleased with our stay! The rooms were impeccable, up-to-date and clean. Plenty of pool options from small to poolside bar/restaurant. Food and drinks on-site were incredible! The beachside views under the palm trees next to a fire made sunsets photogenic and memorable. Staff were happy to assist and always friendly. Many activity options for adults/families if you are not looking to leave the resort. We chose two excursions - Snuba diving and jet ski tours. Loved both!! We would happily return.

The Staff overall was very welcoming and felt they cared to make a good experience. The property is beautiful and we loved the look and feel of the place. The rooms were perfect for what we needed.Things I would recommend changing:1. Allowing guests to blast music by the pool. The main pool was not the scene I would recommend anyone to attend. It was loud and their were several groups playing their own music loudly that is disturbing to everyone. We actually sat more by the beach and still felt the noise was too loud to enjoy the tranquility.2. Felt that a hotel of this many stairs should be able to clean rooms. We have stayed in 4/5 star hotels since COVID and they all clean the rooms if requested.3. We had called before coming about wanting to stay out the day on property on the day of check out. I asked if their were showers on site and they said yes by the main pool. Later on our second to last night we called again as we had not seen showers and they mentioned they were the outside showers that we can use. We were not pleased by this. How is someone supposed to truly shower on the outside with others around. A 4/5 star property should at least have one shower and changing room that can be used by guests if they need before they depart and have already checked out.We would recommend it but will share with others a full experience.

The hotel grounds are very nice, rooms very pretty. There is a lack of comfort, there are no paddle boards, they charge for kayaks which is silly since you are already paying top price for marathon, no bikes. The restaurants are ok food not super good and pricey. I was disappointed by the lack of comfort for the price. They need to do something on the beach as the water is full of sea weed so it’s not easy to swim. Had they had a beach hut with rafts and paddle boards it would make the experience much nicer, it’s far to sterile.

I went for my honeymoon. It was amazing!!! It so peaceful and quiet. My husband and I arrived early...we walked towards the beach to the oversized cabana ...enjoyed the peaceful sight of the tides. We laid back and fell fast asleep. We woke up by check in at 4pm. Upon checking in we was greeted with flutes of champagne and free tickets for an activity. The check in space was absolutely beautiful. Not your typical hotel lobby. It is a isolated building from the rest of the resort nestled among palm trees. The people were professional with a smile. Kindly answered any questions and addressed us by our surnames. We can hear the live music from the open bar near shore. Surrounded by few pools and oversized games on the semi white sand. The Resort gift store was absolutely filled with beautiful clothes, home & kitchen decor, wine, take out food & desserts menu, sea shore inspired jewelry and kids toys etc. The store ran out of wine and went to personally get us a bottle fromthe restaurant. Great service!Let’s talk paradise! You are secluded on a private gated resort surrounded by tons of planted palm trees. A restaurant local told us they saw when the palm trees was brought in on trucks. Since it is gated upon arrival and you are cleared by surname with the guard welcoming you in...it gives you a nice sense of security for romantic walks at night. Howeve I did swat my legs more often walking on their sandSomething kept biting us. Swimming pools is right off the beach, not crowded or noisy. The left side of the beach is super quiet to take a nap and enjoy a tan. The bugs in sand were annoying trying to get to the champagne. The short Pier walk is nice with two wooden white beach chairs extended off beach. They should of built more of those. Other couples I noticed would wait until my husband and I was done every time we hung out on pier. The rooms are private entry. There is large open foyer, the closet, the bathroom and the room and private balcony with huge sliding doors. The room is white on white with hints of all kinds of blues on everything. Some gold and silver accent and art decors throughout was appreciated. Room provides 2 cozy robes. The sliding doors remained open during our stay at night cause it was so quiet and the resort was not at full capacity. No one really occupied the rooms left to us.I was disappointed in the architectal design of the balconies ...it is just TOO close to your neighbors for romantic lounge out at the stars. I was grateful that our balcony faced the beach, walk way and pool. Our 1st night there our neighbors ...one balcony over was enjoying nightcap, loud talks and laughter. This group had the right to enjoy themselves. We might as well shouldve hop over the lounge chaise and join them for a game of Pictionary lol. Your private talks WILL be heard if your neighbor decides to lounge out too lol..any ffection will feel awkward. Think proximity of restaurant tables at Applebee’s. Come out before 6 am or at 2 am to enjoy your balcony️.Overall, we loved our stay! We rarely stayed on site. We enjoyed the local restaurants and shopping. Relaxation is what we needed after a big wedding. We visited in November 2019 where rates was low at one sixty-two plus other fees. Going into 2020 rates were so much higher between four hundred to eight hundred. It is a wonderful getaway without kids but it is not worth this rate unless you start offering in the future RESORT ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AND ALL INCLUSIVE MEALS. There is not much to do. It can be much more if they continue planning and building.

I gave the resort two stars even though it is a brand new, beautiful looking place. Here is my breakdown:Location: 3 stars. The isolation is nice but not the ideal island and not the best part/side of the island.Rooms: 5 stars. The rooms are big, nicely decorated and still look brand new.Resort amenities: 2 stars. Multiple pools but all are very basic (most pools are more of a big tub). While the resort is on the beach, the actual access to the water is on one, small area. The access to the water there is unpleasant as its muddy and has lots of seaweed. Compared to the other resorts Ive been to, this resort falls short on resort-type amenities; its closer to a plain hotel in that regard.Service: 1 star (and even thats is a stretch). I wont get into all the details (unless the hotel management wants me to) but Ill just say these two things:1. Mid-level resort management (the people in the office behind the reception) should not work in the hospitality business. Ive never been talked to the way they talked to me. One of them would be a better natural fit in organized crime than in the hospitality business. Im not the only one that experienced this behaviour during my stay there, other people in the group I was with experienced similar behavior in other occasions.2. When you order food from a waitress at the main pool, you dont expect her to go on a lunch break before your order is taken care of. When the food finally arrives (about 45 minutes later), you dont expect the pool barman to whistle and waive at you to come pick up your food. Finally our order had an extra dish in it. Luckily the hungry guest whos order got delivered to us was sitting right next to us and we figured it out before the waitress got back from her lunch break.====================Bottom line - if youre from Florida and youre driving down to the keys - you can do better. Definitely at this price range. If youre not from Florida, fly somewhere else. Youll get a lot more bang for your buck.** Avoid **

Our stay at Isla Bella was great. We had a two room suite which was very nice and perfect for our family of four. The room was clean and had a great balcony area with nice views. Ask runs seen to have great views towards the ocean. The pools were very nice to swim in and hang around. The marketplace was good. There were constantly out of a few things (like cream cheese for bagels) but that didnt bother us too much. Little things like that we attributed to growing pains. The place is only a few months old and I think theyre still trying to figure it all out. But the staff were super friendly and helpful. We liked the way they communicated by texting. Overall it was a great stay and a decent value, and we would return. Highly recommend!

I cannot thank him enough for ensuring our stay was perfect. We couldnt have been more relax (and sad) leaving this place! From the very beginning, the service was outstanding - Our stay honestly exceeded our expectations! Our room was beautiful, all new, clean, modern and gorgeous. The restaurants are all good as well, some better than others, but overall great food and service. My family and I also booked jet ski reservations and it was the best tour ever. Devin (I believe is his name) was a great instructor he was so fun. My boyfriend and I both fell over on our jet skis lol I was a wreck. He kept us as calm as possible and got us back on our jet skis and we were good after that. Beautiful resort, more than adequate rooms, in fact beautiful rooms. Where everything falls apart is when it comes service. from check in, to being at the pool, just all the way around with a few exceptions service was lackluster.I had high hopes as a security at the front gate was more than courteous and very inviting - pleasantly welcomed us. He also described what my next steps were. Once I made it to the front desk it was like talking to a brick wall, they could care less if I was there, didn’t tell me any thing to do with the resort, didn’t tell me about locations, didn’t tell how things work given. Just gave me the keys and shooed me away.I’m guessing they were having pool problems, because of out by noon the pool was filthy and if you had goggles on you couldn’t see the person sitting next to you clearly. Seriously. We did have several items from the marketplace which are all good, some of it courteous some of it begrudgingly. And we had one dinner at the restaurant, and was served graciously from Melissa. The food did take a while, but it was all very good.I would bump it up a star two of the service was there, but obviously the facility even though New is not functionally totally properly. I can blame some of that on Covid, but I blame the rest on, for example pools, I’m just zero give a damn.

Nothing short of perfect! We carefully debated several resort properties before booking this one. We are so glad we did. This was such a wonderful experience for our whole family. As you leave the highway you immediately pull into the lush resort grounds. The guard at the guard station will set you on your way through a set of automatic gates that are reminiscent of Jurassic Park. In a good way, of course! Trust me, there are NO dinosaurs . The lobby is beautiful. You are greeted with open doors and sparkling wine. Every hotel room has an ocean view. The streets within the grounds are cobbled and well laid-out. The entire resort feels like it was thought out for a very long time with every detail planned to perfection. There are sight lines to vistas and ocean views that are absolutely stunning. The staff is amazing! We felt so welcomed at every turn. I feel like the hotel is still working out some small kinks as certain activities were advertised but were not running some days, but everything was still incredible. There are so many things to do. There are ping pong tables and Bocce courts along the beach, outdoor activities and kayaks, a marketplace with inexpensive food and treats, and 5 pools to make sure none become too crowded. The beach is nice but obviously man-made. This is the case with most resorts in the keys as there are only two natural beaches in the entire island chain (one is located on this island). The rooms are well-appointed and clean. As mentioned, every room has a view of the water. One of the nicest features is the porch at the front of each unit. You can sit there and listen to the water lapping on the beaches. There are invisible speakers all around the grounds that make you feel like you are in Disney World and the lighting across the grounds in the evening is beautiful.I could say so much more, but none of it really does this resort justice. Just know that it is fantastic and should be your first (and possibly only) stop down in the Keys! We didnt expect to spend much time in the resort and found it to be our favorite time in the trip, not to mention we spent 80% of our time here. Absolutely wonderful!

This Place is great if you like non existent customer service and hotel employees telling you what you should and should not let bother you during your stay. We got an outstanding deal through our travel agent (who wanted us about mixed reviews ) or we would not have booked here. We decided it was worth the risk because of the great deal. Had we paid close to full price, we would have gone elsewhere before completing check in. We were made to feel as though we were inconveniencing the staff by arriving. Our bad. Asked about a Tesla charger location . We were told there was one in the parking lot. Okay. Great. We were going to lol in the closet. The room was nice—large and clean. The balcony overlooks the water. Not a beach! (Murky sandy water.) It is pretty but know that there is NO privacy. Your balcony is open to your neighbor’s balcony and so on—you can see forever down the row! Is it loud? Depends on who is next door to you and next door to them and so on. We got lucky. The one large pool is very nice but got very crowded quickly. Hard to social distance and no rules on how many could be there. Three other pools are just large “tubs,” but nice to have in addition to the nice pool!I was warned that this place had mixed reviews. I choose to book anyway!I loved the rooms. Service was sub par.Asked for pool towels (station was out at the pool) and was told I had to get them myself at the front desk. Then I was told that I should not let that small inconvenience bother me and that I didn’t know what big problems are. This is when I wanted to kill someone but as much as I wanted to stay in the Keys, I didn’t want to remain there in jail. So I shut up and went and got my own towel. If you stay here, just know it is a hotel. It’s not a resort—although you willPay a resort fee, and a parking fee, and you will have to clean your own room and ask for new towels every day. Overall it was pretty mediocre. Great service, but food options were VERY limited, especially on a plant based diet which was really unfortunate. Not a whole lot to do, but the “events” each day were for kids. The beach was horrible. No one used it at all because there’s so much grass in the water and it’s so shallow. The room was excellent. The resort could use way more color, and better pools for swimming. Unless you rent a car don’t even bother going here, you won’t have anything to do. The COVID precautions were excellent. But not for the pools. All they did was reserve chairs around the pool to maintain distance but in the pools it was practically a cess pool (no pun intended) for the virus. I work in the hospital and I’m sure I’d be seeing plenty of people from the pools at work in a few weeks. I absolutely loved the jet skiing with my wife. Would totally recommend the activities!

The resort was nice and clean. Not very big, which we liked. The food was good but when you pay high prices for food you expect it to be better than good. We received daily text from the resort about the daily activities. That was nice. They had things for our kids to do. The resort doesn’t go above and beyond if that’s what you’re used to; the only two things I ask for was milk and a postage stamp, and I got neither.

Let me preference my review with the fact that I’ve spent over 1,400 nights in hotels. I know what great service looks like. The staff at Isla Bella was AWESOME. Every person I met or saw working with another guest had great energy and wanted to make sure we had what we needed when we needed it.The property itself is PERFECT. Since it’s relatively new, I expected certain things but everything about this property exceeded my expectations. My room was noise proof as I never heard any outside noise. A great gym. The restaurant and bars felt ‘welcoming’ and for a large property, nothing really seemed far. I will be back to this resort soon.

Brand new beauty in the Keys. Ill update after my stay.Update: The resort is still a work in progress. The spa and market had yet to open, and the main entrance is about 25% complete. However, Id go back in a heartbeat. The resort is gorgeous, the staff was friendly, and the food at the main restaurant was excellent. The food at the main pool wasnt that great and overpriced. Upon arriving I was impressed with the overall layout and desigin of this brand new build. It reminded me of the St. Regis Resort in Puerto Rico. However, I did not feel overly welcomed by the front desk staff. This was true through my stay... concierge showed no interest in helping us book activies including those include in the resort fee, restuarant staff seemed bothered that we arrived close to closing time and wanted to rush us out before I said something and they apologized. Nonetheless the food was tasty and the drinks okay. I was also very disappointed to learn upon my arrival that the main pool was closed and the spa was close maintence. Most of all, how can Isla Bella call itself a beach resort with no beach? The week that we were there the manmade lagoon was filled with kelp and seaweed so thick it made going into the water impossible and the stench was so bad it would have been impossible to layout on the sand.

Resort is beautiful and the pools are refreshing. Onsite dining for dinner was decent, and the views on the water are great. The beach is quite small and the water has lots of seaweed on the floor, plus I saw a couple tiny white jellyfish. We mostly stayed here due to convienent location to other Keys and didnt spend too much time at the resort itself. So for that reason, I feel the price was too high.

Grounds are pretty but very small in comparison to the photos. Beach is brackish unswimmable water. Very limited food options on property. Beach bar is the only good available in the daytime expect an extremely high bill for lunch with added 20% gratuity on every charge at this resort. Beware of the 20% added gratuity to Every bill — this adds up so fast that it is Outrageously overpriced that people order pizza from off property to not have a huge bill. Marketplace is unreasonably priced like youre at Disney world with Costco quality food options. The main restaurant il postino has excellent food but very expensive and the only option for a decent dinner every night. The hostess is very unpleasant and will discriminate at all costs to be in power and needs much training in accommodating guests. Very unpleasant hostess to deal with, she goes out of her way to make sure you dont get what youre requesting. At Isla Bella, you get a small property with very little warmth to feel at home. The entire environment is very judgmental, rude and discriminatory. Staff is very unfriendly and the prices overall are a complete rip off. If you choose to come here at most stay 2 nights and go on to a better resort that will treat you with excellent hospitality and kindness. The rooms have very uncomfortable beds, like the cheapest of cheap mattress they could get their hands on --- a very high room price for a very cheap, firm and uncomfortable mattress. Our first assigned room had a disgusting mildew smell. Rooms have thin walls and can hear everything between rooms. Balconies are all attached with Zero privacy. Parking and resort fees are additionally taxed; expect to pay $55 per night per car per room. Pools are very small and nothing to do once on property. Getting anytime of good or beverage service you will be ignored for the first 30 minutes. I have traveled the globe and was hoping for a nice getaway during covid only to be completely underwhelmed by this over marketed properly with an icy staff. This is a new resort but MUCH improvement is needed to properly get this place running for the price they are trying to charge. The premium asked for is not the product you are hoping to get. This is not the Waldorf Astoria -- if you are hoping for Luxury resort then skip this resort. The best part of the resort was the jet ski tour which is from an outside tour provider with great tour guide. They make the pictures of this place look great but I have mentioned to all friends and family in the Delray and Washington DC area to avoid this place at all costs.

The rooms are spacious, well appointed and sparkling clean! Our room attendant, Mareda did a terrific job with keeping us well stocked with clean towels and linens...I really cant say enough about this resort! Elaine and the rest of the folks at the Marketplace were equally as pleasant and so helpful in regards to fun things to do there as well as the surrounding areas. We are still on property as of the date of this post, we went on an awesome jet ski tour today, Kyler was our tour guide and he was perfect. Very trust worthy and knowledgeable of the local waters, reefs, currents etc. Worth the money in our opinion. The weather has been great as well, the food on property is better than any local restaurant on the island. Sunset Grill down the street, unfortunately, was less than favorable and so are many other establishments in Marathon. The food at the resort is excellent. Drinks are pricey but to be expected, we went to Publix and purchased a case of water and wine for our room and deck. We have a beachfront unit with a covered porch and the views are spectacular. We are in a quiet section at the end. The nights are peaceful. We do not find it overcrowded this week which is nice so it feels especially exclusive. The only unfortunate experience was tonight. My husband planned in advance, a surprise birthday dessert at the restaurant, Il Postino, and it went horribly wrong. I need to acknowledge Garth, our waiter, who did an outstanding job of recovering the situation as best as he could. I’m a former resort manager, and I feel he was set up for failure based on the poor inexcusable miscommunication within the restaurant. Garth is to be commended for his quick thinking, professional demeanor, and resilience to execute the necessary damage control. On a side note, a manager never came to our table to apologize, offer an explanation to my husband, check on us to make sure we left happy, nothing. In the end I was presented with the slice of chocolate cake that is shown in my attached photos. My husband and I felt very empathetic for the position Garth was put in, but he persevered! Other than this one dining experience, we love it here. SUPER clean, and in excellent condition. Resort is only a little over one year old I believe. The bathroom is HUGE, and we love having a Keurig coffee machine in the room. Beds are comfy. Room is nicely appointed and decorated. Outlet plugs and USB plugs in three convenient locations in our room. Regardless of tonight’s dining experience, we would still recommend this property, and we would stay here again. Every so often, mishaps occur, and we realize this, my husband was just disappointed it happened on my 50th birthday of all days.

We paid 5-star prices for 3-star service. The hotel needs to send their front-facing staff to the Disney Institute for customer service training. Upon arrival on the first night, the restaurant wasnt able to seat us for dinner without reservations. Of course, we werent told to make reservations when we booked the property. We walked over to the Marketplace store one afternoon for gelato and the person who helped us was so uninterested, I am not sure why she showed up to work. When our room wasnt cleaned by 4:15 pm, I called the front desk and someone appeared instantly, although the front desk personnel did not apologize or even attempt to act surprised. The next day by 3 pm, the room wasnt cleaned again. Dont toss your beach towels because you will get charged for a replacement. I felt between the fees for everything and the level of service, I wont be recommending this hotel or returning to Isla Bella.

Also, we had a bottom floor unit which we requested so we could walk out to the pool, bar and restaurant however we tracked in quite at bit of sand. Housekeeping never vacuumed the carpet. We did not get a re-supply of coffee or cups. The air was not working for a day. We were locked out of our room for an hour before someone came to replace the batteries in the door lock. The food and beverage were much too expensive. They tack on a 20% gratuity which they didnt tell us about and until we figured that out, we were double tipping. Annoying. Beautiful resort, though still needs some improvement for a new hotel. Should have more valet or bellcaps to help with luggage. Also, the Marketplace doesnt have enough to offer for breakfast and/or lunch. Always running out of food. The resort needs another restaurant on site with just comfort food for kids and adults. Italian restaurant is not enough for such a big resort, and the bar food is limited. Definitely need additional staff in all areas. Can never find anyone and always have to call Front Desk. Review №97

We arrived at the resort today. The way they advertise not only the rooms but the resort is misleading, borderline fraudulent. We get to the room and realize it doesn’t really look like the photos, has no kitchen and is small for what we paid for it. We believed we booked a room with a kitchen so we went to the desk and were essentially dismissed. I asked if we could pay for a room with a kitchen but the woman at the desk said it wouldn’t fit 6 despite the website saying it fits 6. We also had no bottles of water in the room despite 2 complimentary bottles of water advertised. We asked for bottles of water after everyone at the desk acted surprised there was no water and 3 hours later still no water. The director was very nice and seemed to want to make things right but unfortunately 3 free drinks don’t make up for false advertising and utter disappointment. He was the only nice person I encountered there thus far so I commend his efforts. There was advertisement of welcome drinks and chilled towels which we also didn’t get. The director said this is due to COVID which is fine but then don’t advertise it. Also, it is advertised that there is a “fridge” (exactly the word on the website) but it is in fact a cooler. The beer at the bar was warm. Maybe refrigerators aren’t their thing in general. Last but not least, the “beachside suites” are not beachside suites. The “beach” is like small rocks and not what I (or likely anyone else) would call sand or a beach. The “suite” isn’t a suite, not too sure what to call it and finally, calling it a resort is a big stretch. It is a boutique hotel at best. I was really looking forward to a wonderful, relaxing time with my family but instead I’m just sad that we were duped.

Its new, its nice, its not fully functional. The staff Ive interacted with have been friendly and accommodating, the room is very large and nicely kept (again new), the view from my 2nd floor outdoor living room isnt too bad, although the color scheme doesnt always match, and is very random blues, greens, purples, mix that all in with these floating triangles, its odd but pleasing. The greatest disappointment of the outdoor living room for me was nighttime, they indicate star gazing as a nightly option, but they must own stock in FPL, or partially owned by Trace Adkins because every light in the house is on. It wouldve been a nicer touch to have outdoor lighting as on needed basis only. Food isnt the worst by any means, but $50 for 2 waffles and non alcoholic beverages, is a little above Ronalds standards, the menu prices for other meals also reflect the hey, your staying here so you dont care if we charge you $20 for a $1 worth of hamburger. Yes, this always includes a 20% gratuity from your $6 can of beer to the steak dinner, but one may be better to hop along to one of the many fine local eateries found along this key, or maybe just go catch your own. Being this is off season and the newness factor, its not wall to wall people and lots of sunny or shady (actual shade) spots to sit, relax, burn, tan, sweat, nap or whatever else floats someone elses boat. Lost count of the pools, but theres a Main Event with several side shows all along the back of the buildings. Found it disappointing all small pools close at dusk, and dont open until 9am, so no relaxing late nite dips or early morning sunrise from the refreshing pool, thats on a beach you cant swim from......oh, anyways, the main pool is however, open till 10pm. I have yet to investigate, but the resort fee includes kayak and bicycle rentals, and they have service to help you plan off resort events as well. Overall, its not bad, maybe theyll continue tweaking things and make it even better.

There’s just so much to love at Isla Bella. Fantastic grounds, beautiful and thoughtfully designed landscaping, friendly staff, plenty of activities, immaculate bathrooms. The list can go on and on.There are, however, three glaring oversights and one operational deficit from keeping this from being a five star review. Which is difficult to say considering how much I love this resort.1. I can’t speak to all units as they may not be the same. But the size of the mini-fridge is laughable in the 2-queen room. You can fit about five bottles/cans inside before you run out of room and the door doesn’t shut. The strange thing is, the cabinet the fridge is in can fit one at least twice the size, if not more. I get the idea is to lure people into constantly buying drinks at the marketplace, restaurant, and bar; but don’t nickel-and-dime people at a resort.2. There is zero privacy on the balcony from unit-to-unit. Due to their staggered nature, one can easily see into the next unit without even trying. Sure, there are curtains, but why would anyone want to block that stunning view? There needs to be some kind of divider between unit balconies. My pictures do not show this oversight as that would be invading the privacy of our neighbors. A simple screening divider would do wonders, it wouldn’t even have to be the length of the balcony; just some sort of divider for the first part to add some privacy.3. The doors between units are holo-core. A: Who needs connected rooms anymore? What purpose does that really serve when you can simply walk outside and step five feet to the adjoining unit’s front door using your programmable key? B: The difference in price between a holo-core door and a solid-core door is about $50 on the high end. So why is this a problem? Well, when the adjoining room has a VERY expressive, emotional, and energetic toddler; well, it’s like they’re in the room with you... at 6AM... every morning. Holo-core doors allow sound to pass right on through as if the door wasn’t even there; while good solid-core doors dampen sound like a well insulated wall would. It’s not that the walls in the staterooms are thin, the sound is very obviously coming through the adjoining-room-doors (forgive me for not knowing the proper name of these doors.)The operational inadequacy comes down to planning for guests who expect a peaceful, quiet stay. There are resorts that are “family friendly,” with activities for children and adults alike. This is not one of those resorts. Kids have little-to-nothing to do besides swim in the pool and throw bocce balls into the ocean (more than half the balls were missing, so this is my conclusion.) Therefore, with few activities, children just run amuck. Is this directly the fault of the resort? No. I’m not saying “ban children.” But a little planning could allot one end of the complex for families with children, and the other end for people expecting a more resort-like experience. I have not noticed the loud music coming from the bar area that other reviewers have mentioned in the past. So perhaps this has been remedied. So my suggestion would be that the large pool and maybe the first small pool nearest to the bar be designated for adults only, then the private-reservation pool be next (would require moving the hut so maybe ignore that suggestion,) followed by the last two pools being for families with children; then add a small playground or something on the furthest end. Have the rooms follow this same pattern to the best of the resort’s ability and you have the makings of a peaceful reserve for those that wish for it and a more child-friendly atmosphere for those with little energetic people in tow. This resort has a lot going for it; but still has some growing pains to work out. I look forward to visiting again in the future to see if these bits have been worked out.
