Our family of 4 had an awesome vacation at Coconut Cay Resort and Marina. We got to use the kayaks bikes and fishing poles provided by the resort to help in maximizing out vacation experience. All the amenities where we’ll kept and worked great. The staff at the hotel was awesome and had a great attitude. They also have a pool that I did not get a picture of. To use the amenities like the bikes or kayaks all you do is leave your room key at the front desk and you get your key back when you return the gear. We caught 4 different kinds of fish just fishing off the dock in the marina. Great fishing. Manatees came into the marina everyday at 10:30- 12:30 very cool to see and swim with. The only thing I would complain about is there was no breakfast do to COVID and the second level has no protection from the sun so you will not be able to get away from it if your on the second level. Other than those 2 things this is a great place to stay with or without tour family. Key West is exactly 1 hour away.

Enjoyed my stay here. Nice relaxing weekend and the grounds and rooms were very well kept. Convenient location too. I would definitely stay again!

Get a room along the canal rooms 60-70 are best, T7 and T8 are downstairs, T5,6 are upstairs. T8 is a king. They have gas BBQ grills, bikes and kayaks for use. Bring extension cord, most outlets are used. Keurig coffee maker. Plenty of hot water. Pool gets very warm July and August.

Our getaway weekend was great, we book this hotel at last minute, the housekeeper Marlene, was very pleasant, without mentioning Dunia, the receptionist, she was very nice. Definitely go back and book with them again. My kids and I had an amazing time.

Stay at a few different places in the keys. This is the best one so far. Very clean rooms and it just feels like home. Will definitely stay again for our next trip

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Small breakfast bar in the mornings, with fruit, juice, milk, oatmeal, yogurt and granola. As a gluten-free eater I was glad to see I could enjoy a light breakfast. Parking is up close to the rooms which is great for someone carrying heavy bags. Good for a motel-like atmosphere. You get rentals of bikes and kayaks here too.

Very clean nice room . We stay 2 nights. Everything perfect but I found out 2 little cockroaches in the bathroom.

Well run hotel! We will come back.They have great employees who care about their guest. Lots of stuff to do from fishing to kayaks and a nice pool.

We stayed for one night and the room was pretty basic. The room was clean as well as the resort. We got the standard king room and would not pay more $80 but we did. The resort has good amenties like free bicycles and kayaks when you stay, but thats about it. They give you a small bag of ice once per day if you ask for it. The customer service was decent.. Overall, we had a place to sleep at night and the location is great. If you have a boat, the waterfront suites are convenient. We would try it again if we get a different room and reasonable rate.

Great location mid section of Marathon, on the canal, free kayaks, price was right, beds are awesome and soft, lots of pillows! ️Close to Publix and Winn Dixie, restaurants close, loved the Cuban coffee and Cuban sandwiches at La Niña, The Fishery on 32nd best lobster Rueben, snow crabs, The Island fish company was great also! Sombrero Beach a few miles is a must see, so beautiful, and the fishing everywhere is great!!

Absolutely fantastic. Room was spotless, grounds were nice and all employees were friendly. Right on an intracoastal waterway with a nice little boat launch. They offered free kayaks and bikes. Pool area was well kept and decent size. Close to everything. Right next to the airport but couldnt hear any planes when in the room.

Negative: The crew attention was terrible, at my check in not body explains you the locations inside the hotel, amenities, service, hours of service, it was as simple as here you have your keys go out an is on the right..

The house Keepers and Maintence man really keep this resort Live and Young!! Had a blast Kayaking out of the marina was amazing! The room right next to the marina was the best! Best view in the morning and at night !

This place was amazing use of paddle boards and kayaks and bicycles rooms were emaculate not a small of dust anywhere and great smelling room, I dont really like that I have to give my key up to use the paddle boards as there were more than 1 person in the room and that person if didnt want to go was stuck in the room but other than that it was amazing in definitely staying here again

It was an affordable and clean place to stay with my daughters. Compared to other places, it was the most reasonable place to stay which included breakfast. If you plan on riding their bicycles, bring your own pump becuase they do not have one. Other then that, it was not too bad.

Although weather was terrible all staff kept you upbeat and taken care of. Had fun here and made the most of adverse conditions.

Loved sitting on our back deck watching the water and the wild life, (iguanas).. kayaking into the open waters was so beautiful! Good relaxing visit..

I can’t even describe my stay because we were only on the property for 30 minutes before we left. 15 of the 30 was spent waiting for the front desk agent to return from running an errand.Room smelled of mold.Room was damp as the AC was left at 81.The comforter on the bed was so damp it was verging on wet.The whole property had a foul odor.VERY LOUD offensive gangster rap playing by pool, making it a non relaxing environment.Dead fish floating by kayak rentals.Bicycles in disrepair.The advertised included continental breakfast not available with no discount given or attempt to replace advertised item.Their photographer must have been a magician, in the pictures that place looked great, but in person not so much.Extremely rude management.In short we are lucky that we only live 3.5 hours away and decided it was better for our health and safety to return home than spend the night at their “RESORT”.

Overall, this resort has potential but they are not quite there yet - very expensive for a mediocre experience. From the outside, looks charming but it was a bit like putting lipstick on a pig. Crumbs in bed, dirty walls, filthy closet floor, freezer reeked of fish and extension cords all over the kitchen...with a little mindfulness towards the finishing of the room, it could have been great. The check in staff were wonderful, the check out staff...not so much. When asked how my stay was, I offered there was room for improvement and they totally blew me off and asked if I wanted a receipt. Location is great and the beds were super but for the price we paid, it should have been much better.

We were at the front of the property near the highway, I expected to hear cars at night, it was sooo quiet - which is great when you are tired. The motel is dated but clean. The breakfast area is not really setup for more than a few people at a time. It was too crowded to enjoy. One thing I would recommend is to offer firm pillows, all motels/hotels only ever have soft pillows.

We have stayed here 2 years in a row and enjoyed our stay both times. There is an outdoor pool. Kayak and bike rentals are free. They have pastries and other easy to grab items for breakfast. The room was nice. The bathroom had a stand in shower rather than a bathtub, which seems common for a lot of places in the keys.

Great little resort in Marathon. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Resort offers kayaks and fishing gear. The pool is nice to relax by at the end of the day.

Very nice and affordable resort, its definitely not the Hilton hotel but its very nice and laid back. They also offer free paddleboards and kayaks. The picnic area is nice with shaded cover and grills.

Positive: Nice rooms and nice area (king suite) Negative: Not that it was a problem but there is no front desk staff available after a certain time. The laundry severices could be more secure and free.

We have enjoyed our stay here! From the start the friendly staff, colorful decor and well done rooms made us feel welcome and at the beach! The morning breakfast was good. Our back deck on the dock was so serene with iguanas roaming around and an occasional kayak or SUP going by. I have enjoyed using the bikes and the SUPs that are included in our room fee. I would for sure stay here again and highly recommend it!

We stayed here as a last min option and boy was it amazing. it was early sept but after labor day so the keys were desolate as we made our way south and damn it was still warm as ever. we had an easy check in and made our way to our pet friendly room that over looked the water, they had kayaks, boat rentals, and a pool. it was super affordable and economical with a old world homely charm. not BS corporate junk. this is the place. on the check out i was greated by the owner who i had a 2 hour conversation with trials and tribulations of life what brought us to where we are. amazing man great story wonderful owner. gave me tons of tips and things to check out that were off the beaten path. screw your yelp reviews, if you want room service, bell hops, and elevators this is not for you. if you like waking up to sea lions at your window a gecko at your foot step, no frills, and a comfy bed to rest your head, people who care about people then this my friend is the place to be. the only place i wanna stay.

Nice staff, CLEAN with modernly decorated rooms, EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE beds,, and the A/C will flat freeze you out of the room! We ABSOLUTELY LOVED this place and will definitely stay here for EVERY return trip!

Very nice accommodation for a very nice price. We payed almost 70€ for a double room. I liked the little terrace with chairs and table.It was clean and the staff friendly and helpful.One of the best on our trip trough the Keys.Next time I am gonna remember it.Recommendable...

Wonderful and affordable property, friendly staff and easy access to the ocean. Complimentary bikes, kayaks and paddle boards for guests. Our second stay and just as enjoyable as the first.

Room was very spacious and clean. Set up was perfect for us traveling with a toddler as the room had a rocking chair and more than enough space for his crib. One of the staff at the front desk was very rude when we tried to ask about the pool hours. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Renovated rooms and on going renovations going on as well. Nice spot to stay. Centrally located with Publix and other stores within walking distance or a short bike ride. They could provide a few more amenities such as hangers for the closet, paper towels in the kitchen, dish soap for the kitchenette, hooks for your toiletry bag in the bathroom because there arent any towel racks other than the one in the shower. It would be a good idea to secure the headboards. We stayed in room 70 and tge headboard fell on our 9 year olds bed. No injuries but there could have been. Water pressure is terrible. The pool is nice. The grounds are pretty and the beds and pillows are comfy.

The rooms were clean and quaint, it was nice being off the canal. The location was okay but not ideal. The rooms need a dehumidifiers as they are very damp.

Overall a great spot if you want to dock a small boat(probably no bigger than 25) while in the keys. Ive stayed there twice and had a great time both visits. Only downside was the second time our room had some roaches in the kitchen.

Comfy room just a little small. The breakfast area was too small as well and people bump into each other trying to move around. Great stopping point if you are on your way down to Key West though..

Happened on this resort. Room had lovely patio overlooking waterway. Pool clean, but cool. Be prepared for no see-ums (little biting bugs) NOT bedbugs. AC a bit loud. Breakfast was good, just dont be too late or pickings could be slim. Very nice staff. Would happily stay again

We had called the resort at 11:30 to state we would be arriving in about an hour and could we have early checkin? Response was if a room ready...not helpful. When we did arrive, a young girl behind the desk seemed like we were interrupting her from doing nothing. We asked if a room was ready (12:30pm) and she said no.. Checkin is at 3:00. We asked if any idea if one would be available. Response was no. We went out to eat and came back at 3:00pm. Young girl and another lady at desk. Our room was not ready still. We complained that we had been here earlier and the older lady apologized that no one had alerted housekeeping to get room ready and the person would be talked to....well, the person was the young girl sitting right next to her at the front desk. We were given the room keys but told to maybe go sit by pool until room ready. We stated we had been on the road since 7am and wanted to at least put our stuff in room. We proceeded to the room. Housekeeping was next door to our room. Housekeeper did not speak very much english but did her best to tell us she would hurry. We explained that we had been there earlier and she said if they had been alerted, our room would have cleaned earlier this morning. Very frustrating!! Upon entering room, there was no kitchenette as advertised in the reservation. I proceeded back to front desk and they gave us 15% discount for our inconvenience. That was commendable of her.

There are no restrictions on amount of guests per room, so because our neighbor had too many people in their room, they used our area for hanging clothes, tying a tent, and placing there trash on our side. The office staff was no help.

The room was great, we were very impressed. There was a nice breakfast and plenty of it. The only down side was traffic noise. Ask for a room in the back.

We were in the deluxe rooms and they were great for the price! Enjoyed our stay and the only thing we could complain about is the limited parking and laundry services.

Very affordable, clean, accommodating and the staff was polite and super helpful. Access to canal and boat dock which is great if you bring your boat. Bikes, grills and kayaks available free of charge. We truly enjoyed our stay and will make Coconut Cay our go to when vacationing in Marathon.

Old, dirty, dingy. Dont waste your money. This place may have seen better days but it was a long long time ago. Everything is beyond sad or tired looking. The place is exhausted!I cant understand how any other reviews that would give this more than two stars.There must be a mystery room someplace theyre keeping so that they can get a better review.The room that we had hasnt been thoroughly cleaned for years.When you open the door to the room you actually hit one of the beds.I imagine that they arent well-staffed and the best that they can do between stays is to change the sheets and towels and the grounds and pool area need serious attention.Im sorry to give such a poor review. I just dont want anyone else to be deceived as we were.

They property has option to bring a boat. The grounds are not that big but you have your own private patio that allows your grill and eat outside. Overall it is a nice property today for the weekend. Very clean

Clean rooms, fluffy towels, they have a nice pool area with a pool side open air room if you want to get out of the sun that is supplied with books to read a pop machine and bathrooms. My only thing is the steps getting into the rooms, they are high steps and they were hard for my mother to get up, it would be nice if there was a bar by the door for someone to grab if they needed to for that extra stability.

Nice continental + breakfast, but kind of crowded. No ice machines, no ice buckets a little strange and inconvenient but many rooms are dockside. Every morning was a show of wildlife here which was very enjoyable and this place is right in the middle of everything Marathon. Fridge and microwave in the rooms, wifi.

Didnt get the room I was told I would get when I booked a King bed with a balcony or patio. No View. Cannot open Windows. Strong chemical scent. Bed spring makes loud noise.

This place is a diamond in the rough. The staff is honestly nice; the room is great; and our favorite part is the available kayaking right from their dock to the keys!!!

I loved my stay, the room was perfect, I saw on the canal a school of baby nurse sharks. I loved watching The airplanes fly by so low. The staff was great. I will return always.

A beautiful hotel, fully stocked, comfy beds and super clean rooms. The kayak and paddle boards were nice and the pool area was clean and the pool was perfect temp. (Seemed to be a little heated) staff was very friendly and very laid back. Breakfast had a lot of prepackaged stuff, no waffles and no fresh bakery items but it was free so that was nice

OLD...at least the front units which are original. Looks nice when you first walk in but there is no counter space in bathroom, no table, bottom half of walls were buckling, door would not seal and the deadbolt would not work. The main key did not match. Also there were ants everywhere in the bathroom. Smelled good though.

I absolutely love the down home vibe Coconut Cay has. I have stayed here many times, it is the only place I stay when I am in the Keys. The new rooms are great, Eddie is a staff member here and he is awesome. I highly recommend this place.

The resort itself is great but the receptionists seem to be in the worst mood. We came in at around 8pm and the receptionist was really rude. The next morning, a new receptionist, named Jenny, has the same attitude. Other than that, the resort is nice.

Recently stayed at the Coconut Cay Resort about a week ago for 1 night and we had a good experience. We got a Deluxe King at one of the renovated rooms (room 33), and the room was clean, modern, and cozy with a sliding door that led to a porch with a grassy area with 2 chairs and a table that overlooked the pool. I would have liked to stay at new rooms that were constructed after Hurricane Irma, but they were all booked. The facility was well kept and clean. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance if not, minutes away with a car. Sombrero Beach is 7 minutes away, which we went the following day after checking out. Will definitely stay again as long as its in a newly renovated room or the newer constructed rooms.Its a shame that the previous review was someone that got one of the rooms that have not been renovated. If I had been assigned a room like the pictures showed, I would not plan on coming back and probably would have not taken the room. Coconut Cay Resort should address these rooms as a result of potentially losing customers. The pictures of the rooms on the website should uphold what the resort has to offer and nothing less. Will come back soon!

This is a great deal for the money. We will definitely be back. Rooms are clean and bright. Pool area is superb. Breakfast was an added bonus. All the staff is super freindly. Didnt take advantage of free kyacks or bikes. This is a spectacular place to stay with a real keys feel
