Great place to stay. I can say I loved my stay here. Reasonably priced motel style rooms, which where clean and the air conditioning worked. Directly off the main highway, it was easy to find and there was plenty of free parking spaces. You can park directly outside the door, so not far to go at all. The rooms could do with an update, but all was good. There is a marina at the back and a great place to sunbath. If you enjoy the marine lifestyle, this is the perfect place to be. You can hear the high tension power lines popping and buzzing away in the distance on the other side of the road, but you cannot hear it from the rooms, so all is good. Great breakfast place just down the road, I will be back on my travels here again.

Fantastic Location! Spacious room with great kitchen. We brought our boat and kept it on one of the docks, which are equipped with everything you need! The ramp was also in great shape. There is plenty of parking and barbecue grills all over the property. The owner is very nice and is always going around ensuring all needs are met. Great experience you need. The ramp was great also

Have been coming to Marathon for 25 years now... we have recently started staying at Blackfin for quick fishing trips. Ruthie and Chris are amazing! They are so accomidating and helpful. If you are looking for a simple and clean keys getaway, they have options for all sized groups with a great marina and a chilled pool!!

The Black Fin is a lot like what I remember Key West being decades ago. There may be cats roaming around, possibly a chicken or two, Iguanas? Yes they are there too. It is almost lost to time! The charm of the Keys comes alive here and as someone born in KW I know what Im saying. Its old KW here. There is a great open area that sticks out into the Gulf with covered picnic tables and grills. We had a night before the wedding party here with 30 people and there was plenty of room! At night grab a cocktail and go down to the water because they have several underwater lights that attract all kinds of fish! Way cool with a few drinks in you! Pool is good but, I didnt go in it. One word of warning, bring your own pillows! Take my word on that one! Theres restaurant on premises, order the steamed shrimp, they are HUGE!

I have stayed here 4 times now and every time has been great. Staff is super friendly and accommodating and the prices are great for what you get; pool, marina, boat ramp, nearby restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely be back again

Its an ok place to stay. The new owners are not the most personable or people friendly weve ever met...The location is decent. They do have a pool and boat launch and slips and a nice little beach point area. The rooms are clean, but the a/c is a window unit close to the floor, so it works really hard to barely keep the room cool. The air doesnt reach around the wall into the bathroom or sink and counter area... if you dont really spend much time in your room youll be fine ️

This motel was quaint & exceptionally clean! The view from the point was amazingly and the staff friendly & caring. The bathroom fan was VERY loud, but thankfully we are OK with white noise for sleeping.

The rooms are remodeled and super clean. Only thing we didnt like is that the toilet seat was very worn. We stayed in toom #34.

Third visit here, theres a bar/ restaurant on the premises,as well as a heated pool, marina, and picnic area, charcoal grills,,with area to swim in the ocean. Rooms have coffee maker, micro wave and fridge. There is also several 2 bedroom apartments. Employees at front desk were very nice, and friendly. Close to sombrero beach( free) and Bahia Honda state park ( 8$ fee),, most beautiful beaches I have ever seen,go check it out,,I also was thrilled to see the key deer, endangered species!

We love this place! Everyone is friendly, rooms are clean, pool is great. The grounds are beautiful and well kept! Walk down to the gulf, swim or fish and see the big boats. The water and view is unbelievable!

I was there for a week visiting my parents who happen to have a boat in the marina. The room was exactly what I needed, not too much and not too little. It was nicely updated with white furniture and the hot water was amazing! The staff were courteous and brought fresh towels and washcloths daily. It was nice to have the restaurant and bar around the corner for the couple of rainy nights when we didnt want to venture far for dinner. Id definitely go again. I stayed here for a couple days. The owners were very nice and the room was extremely clean and quiet. It’s not the Hilton and I was worried at first till I made my way back the marina area and was thrilled!

First he came in our room without a mask kicked us out no reason and children watching and elders and did not give us our money for first night even though we didnt stay there

Love this place. It has the FOUR most important features a keys place should have #1 CLEAN #2 FRIENDLY STAFF #3 LOCATION & #4 AFFORDABLE. This place IS what a good quality mom & pop place in the keys used to be.With so many investors buying up little places and making them into mega hotel/resorts & condos; the small, clean, affordable, friendly places are becoming a thing of the past. If you get the opportunity check this place out.As with with ANY hotel ANYWHERE there will always be negative comments and people upset over the tiniest things. Just remember this is the Florida keys... its to relax, fish, drink and just get out of the daily grind. RELAX AND ENJOY!

This building has obviously sustained water damage. The bathroom door was rotted at the bottom with peeling paint. There was mold/mildew throughout the room: the baseboards, inside the cupboards, window sills, etc. The paneling had been painted over and mold still showing at the top of the walls by the ceiling. I have mold allergies and couldnt figure out why I was so miserable after the first night. We stayed there 3 nights and our other family traveling with us also had the same conditions in their room. Our socks were filthy after walking around our room the first day. We saw on the housekeeping cart they didnt even carry a mop and the broom was ridiculous!!! In my pictures, there is a white washcloth that I used to wash my feet AGAIN after just getting out of the shower, drying off and walking around barefoot while I finished getting ready. $200/a night is INSANE for this filth! The cupboard doors were disgusting as well.

Front desk person was real nice and helpful. Room was big and clean. Bed was comfy. We stayed two nights and did things around the area. It worked real well for us.

Such a lovely slice of paradise. The rooms were clean and pet friendly, the staff kind and hard working, and the attached beach walk out was just amazing. A perfect view of sunset was just a 3 min walk from the room. We will be returning!

Cute little place to spend the night while driving through the keys. It has a beachy/home-y motel feel. Took off a star because there were a bunch of ants on the table. Id still stay here again though because aside from the ants, its clean, the owner is really nice, and the amenities are good.

It was a small resort that was laid back and unpretentious. The beach and the marina were a great place to hang out and talk with people. Snorkelling, canoeing, and hanging out here were great. The sunsets were awesome. The attached bar and restaurant likewise were good and low-key. If you want a high class kind of resort like the big expensive properties then you may not like the Blackfin. It reminded me a lot of going up the coast in Queensland, OZ, with laid-back properties in basic settings that were inexpensive.

We stayed 1 night and enjoyed. Close to everything you need, restaurants, grocery stores, beach all witching 5 mins. Would stay again.

Room is not that fancy but bigger than most of hotels in the same range, with microwave and refrigerator, they provide more than enough towers and soaps for us, the beach backyard is small but we feel the privacy and we can enjoying our food, drinks when seeing the sun set sun ride,a very good enjoyed stayed at the hotel.

Typical old Florida motel. Clean, friendly staff, especially Mark, and quiet. Coffee maker in room important esp to my hubby. Would stay there again.

It’s dated but for the price and location it makes sense for the value. We stayed here on the way out from Key West, rather than pay for another night at 3 times the price down there. Get some breakfast or dinner and eat out at the pier. It’s a lovely location and good for sunset viewing. There’s also a restaurant semi-attached which was decent, if not convenient.

Blackfin Resort is always comfortable and clean place to stay. My wife, our dog and myself enjoy our stay each year. We tow our boat down and keep on the water at their marina. The general managers, Chris and Ruthie, are exceptional friendly couple and hands on. Always a wonderful stay!!! Absolutely recommend this great property to stay at!! THANK YOU CHRIS & RUTHIE! We really enjoyed our stay here. They place is pretty, very quiet, clean, and close to everything. You can walk to Kmart, Publix, movies, t-shirt souvenir store, nature park (I like to hike so that was perfect). There are sidewalks on both sides of street.There is a marina so you can arrive by car, boat, or bring your trailer and boat and launch from there. They have a small beach swim/picnic area at end of the marina. They even have a small clean pool that was so relaxing.The room was very clean and the maid service excellent. We had a single efficiency room with small refrigerator/freezer, stove top, microwave, toaster, cooking and eating utensils and a coffee pot.There is also a restaurant out front attached to the registration building called Hurricanes. They have burgers, fish, pizza and more. There is a bar of course, along with indoor and outdoor seating, and a few arcade type games. Staff is nice and food good.And there is a dive shop at the far end of the plaza the restaurant and registration office are in.This hotel is convenient to many great local attractions and restaurants. If you stay here you should check out the Steak and Lobster restaurant just seen the street.. Yumm..I would recommend Black Fin to every one and would love to come back.

Small and a quaint resort with clean rooms. The resort has access to a private marina and a heated swimming pool. There were laundry machines on-site. Decent food options around however most of the restaurants close by 9 pm. They also arrange for snorkelling and scuba tours if you ask at the reception.

Super friendly gem of a place! Its cottege-eey. Updated in progress as I write plus its pet friendly and boat friendly. Our room was clean, cozy, large and great Keys vibe! Tell them ahead of time your needs - front desk will help you out. If not they will charge you hidden fees so easier to be honest. We had a concern w our black lab for a late check out. Lexi took care of things with Mark and Chris great efforts. The Hurricane restuarant is easy to wet your whistle and yumo food! Thanks guys!

Stayed there March 2018 for 9days. Loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you needed anything or had questions about anything they answered them. Met some good people while we were down there. Some were from Jersey,Medina, Cleveland area. Which was pretty awesome meeting people from where we are from. The view was beautiful and very relaxing. It isnt a Hilton but your not in your room often and honestly the location is perfect. Cant wait to go back.

A very convenient place to stay at when traveling to Marathon, Florida. They have a very cozy resort with parking spaces right in front of the room doors. There is a bar right in front of the resort as well. The room maid services are outstanding and there is a comfortable layout in the rear of the resort to catch some sun by the marina docking areas. The friendly staff at Blackfin Resort & Marina always remember their regular repeat customers and they welcome you back for another stay. Im very happy with this resort and after many years of trips down to Marathon, FL its my #1 pick.

This is a good, clean & reasonably priced hotel in The Keys that accepts pets for only $5 more a day. The beach in the marina part was very pleasant. We had it all to ourselves. Weve been there 3 times now & will definitely return. Its our go to place.

Great as always. If you are looking for a fancy frilly resort go somewhere else. If you are looking for a place with a beach, great pool, wonderful people and affordable price you have found it. Awesome place!!!!

Our room had thousands of ants congregated in circular patterns like someone spilled sugar water on the floor beside the bed next to the wall. Cleaning person probably skipped the floor there since it was not very wide between the bed and wall. They were sold out so we couldnt get another room. The TV was on when we arrived which was interesting. The property manager was really nice and gave us no problems with a refund when we decided to leave and find another place. It was rather pricey for the room so I guess its all about location. We ended up finding a room in Key West for about $40 more but it was in a better location and much classier.

We stayed for 2 nights,they had ghost ants everywhere. In the BR & bed.They were crawling all over us. Our dooe didnt even close all the way. We stayed in room #17 our friends stayed in Room 18 & it was the same. We told management, but nothing was done.

Dont believe the bad reviews. Its not the fanciest place, but for a clean bed to sleep in at night in between adventures it works. Walking distance to a farmers market and a fishmonger, youll definitely be ready to use their charcoal grill to cook up some dinner as you watch the sunset over the water.

Came down to stay at Blackfin for my first time with a 32ft center console on a trailer. Chris and his wife could not have been more accommodating. The property looks better than the current pictures show. They marina has its own ramp. Transient dockage is a $1/ft per night. Heated pool and awesome views. Will definitely be coming back to this lovely mom and pop resort marina!!!

It is an old hotel but in a great location for our needs. Walls are thin and I can hear the people next door using the blow dryer but it worked well for what we needed for a one night stay.

Beautiful view and peaceful environment, clean rooms, friendly staff. Great restaurant/bar with live music and very tasty food and hotel and restaurant are both Pet friendly and connected so need to drive just a very short walk. We will definitely return sooooooon!!

Only stopped one out of two nights, Very basic no kettle, ants on units, the head board of the beds had human skin trapped in it, the best thing was the shower lot of hot water

Stayed here for the Coral Head Music Fest and i must say it was quite charming and comfortable. Will definitely return again!

We didnt realize just how extensive hurricane Irmas damage was in the Keys.We ran into a lot of unhappy locals who did not make us feel welcome.Fortunately, The manager made us feel welcome and we were comfortable in our room. It was clean and neat.There is a fresh water pool that is small but heated. The only black mark was that the pool was in use for scuba lessons on two of the occasions we wanted to use it. A posted schedule would have been helpful.All in all it was a nice stay.There was a beach close by, Sombrero beach,that was very pleasant too.

Ive been going to the blackfin every June for about 10 years. For us it is perfect. Rooms, price, marina, pet friendly. Its no four or five star resort but it has everything we need, we love it !!

I was kinda disappointed this time they let it kinda get run down only one light working out on the sandy point chairs busted just kinda run down and we really love this place please dont let it go fix is and was a very nice place

Clean very nice staff, my only disappointment was the shower water pressure, but we had a great time!

Room was in great condition. The staff was very courteous and kind. Kayaks were at our availability as part of the room cost.
