Really nice place to wait out the pandemic. I would have stayed much longer if we didn’t have to get back to reality! Fabulous location, great customer service, and well appointed rooms.

Bed is super comfy it has a fluffy top layer great for getting sleep. Updated amenities in the room. Huge heated pool. Beautiful sunset spot. Downside as of right now no pool bars open which is kind of why I booked it. Im assuming because of covid.

Me and my Boyfriend went around thus time last year. The staff where all amazingly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the island and what places to go eat at and see! They offered multiple brochures about the island and neighbouring Islands. The manager, Katelyn, was very helpful and went above and beyond to help us have an amazing vacation at Banana Bay. The rooms where very clean, as was the pool area and hotel in general. I definitely recommend staying at this resort and Marina if you are heading down to Marathon anytime soon.

I would not consider this a resort. Its more like a motel. I know they tried to spruce it up but did a poor job of covering the mold all over the ceilings. We left after one night, originally booked for 3. The grounds are not well kept at all. When I asked to borrow an ironing board and iron the desk clerk said yes, Ill have it ready for you rather than having someone bring it to our room which is in a separate building. It was probably nice 20-30 years ago but not anymore. Its like putting lipstick on a pig.

We had reservations elsewhere to find the Other Place had bed bugs. These guys SAVED our vacation got us set up with a cute and cozy place. They were very friendly and willing to help step in with our last minute needs. Beautiful place to be. Great atmosphere and so many perks. Even told us the best places to eat. Did not steer us wrong at all. We will return here hopefully Many times. Thank you

Room was great. Clean and comfortable. The grounds were very overgrown and shabby looking. Pool area was fantastic. Huge pool. Beds are comfy, a/c works great. Our water view turned out to be a building in front of the water view. Very centrally located. Very quiet.

The rooms are fantastic and clean, front desk was super nice. We had a view of a tree and the marina. The grab and go breakfast (due to covid-19) is pretty decent: whole wheat bagel, cream cheese, yogurt, and OJ (the OJ was not too great but oh well). We have definitely had worse grab and go breakfast on this trip at other locations! The marina area doesnt have a true beach but there is a nice area that you can fish or swim and its nice to walk around at sunset. You cant really expect much of a beach at hotels in the keys anyways. The pool is amazing! It is huge and there are lots of palms and banana trees to make it feel lush and tropical. Love the pool lights at night time, and luckily the pool is open till 11. I would definitely come back if we ever return to the keys.

When your prices are at a certain point, then your clientele expects a certain of services and amenities. It is advertised as if the resort has its own beachb which it does not. When I arrived, there was a group larger than 6 people having a party, which is against CDC guidelines, and they had glass bottles everywhere and loud music at midnight. You cant even walk over there without any shoes on because most people fish over there. The bathtub I thought had a textured bottom so you wouldnt slip was actually just a thick layer of scum. This also leads me to believe that the rooms are not being clean very appropriately. The pool was quite nice however the one day I had there, they were conducting scuba diving class in it the entire day. There is a $65 pet fee that was never communicated to me although I called the hotel several times about pricing. The breakfast that they gave me in a brown paper bag was insulting. It consisted of a very hard Bagel that Im not even sure how Im supposed to toast in my room and some yogurt. They didnt even give you cream cheese for your bagel. Im actually happy that I did not pay the extra money for an Oceanfront room as there really isnt any Ocean View to be had. The A/C never went below 77 no matter how I tried.

Had a wonderfully time. First time staying in the keys. Highly recommend it. One of the workers Katelyn was very kind and helpful with finding nearby attractions. Definitely going to come back.

The room was nicely decorated, phone in the room didnt work though. The shower is beautiful, but poorly designed, water goes everywhere all over the floor. Pool was closed for the whole first day we were there, they said it was being redone, but even after it was finished it still only looked half way done. Does have a boat ramp but its hard to get a bigger boat down it, as the ramp itself is not that long. Overall though had a nice stay, staff was super nice, I would definitely stay again.

Steve Mccormick n I stayed 4 nights AC very noisy the beds were very comfortable the furniture their wasnt very much to sit on n what was their wasnt comfortable. refrigerator very small, no microwave anywhere on property to use. and no delivery from restaurants near by...They said their was breakfast 8-10 we went at 930 n it still had not arrived not sure if it ever did so we went somewhere else to eat. Bathroom sink was clogged n not enough towels, hall n entrance smells of mold mildew..pool area very dirty. tiki bar was suppose to be open but wasnt..We paid over 1100.00 for 4 nights not happy...

My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights. When we were at the front desk to check in we inquired about having the resort fees waived since everything but the pool was closed. We were told that the resort fees were being used for extra cleaning due to Covid-19. To me this seemed odd since the amenities were closed and the rooms should be cleaned regardless of Covid-19. Upon entering the room we were incredibly disappointed. The room was absolutely gross. After we cleaned we took the video to the front desk and they waived the resort fees. They at least deserve the kudos for making that right. Their staff is helpful and friendly which is why Im giving 3 stars instead of 2. The shower lever literally fell off when my girlfriend tried to turn off the shower, which made it to where we couldnt turn off the water. They had the issue fixed in about an hour. The location is pretty darn good and easy to find while driving through Marathon. Also of note, the room looked updated but you could tell it was done cheaply. Furniture was falling apart and was incredibly dirty. There is a noticable lack of light and power outlets. The pool is falling apart. Ants were all over the room. Breakfast is just a joke. I feel like its practically false advertising when they say they have a breakfast. At the price we paid for the room I probably wouldnt stay here again

We stayed this entire week from Monday 20 to Saturday 24, we were a large group, 4 double rooms were rented and it is remarkable the little supervision in cleaning before handing over the keys to the rooms. When we entered the little maintenance and more now with all of the Covid that we are strengthening their economy and trying to keep them afloat as a local company should definitely take cleaning into account. The facilities are very good and the areas to see the sunsets are spectacular, closed pool is understood by the current situation as well as breakfast but I insist that the cleaning failed greatly please change the duvets that were all stained .4 rooms with the same situation.

Misinformation causing damage to boat, leaking ac in room causing flooding, cleanliness of room, no parking. Lack of parking and no support from GMOn August 5th I checked into the banana bay resort for a five day stay including boat slip. Upon checking in the front desk attendant advised me of where to take my boat which led me down a road that had not been maintained. The trees had not been trimmed causing damage to the top of my boat upon telling the front seat clerk she apologized because she was new and told me the wrong direction. At that point I asked her to please call the General Mgr which she did and he told her not his problem. I waited till the next day to go to the office and speak with the general manager who then followed me out to my boat and to the place where the tree limb had ripped the top of it. It was at that point that he told me that was not their property and she had given me the wrong information he would then send the pictures of my boat to corporate and let me know something when he heard back. The night we checked in I return to my room after being out for the night to find the entire floor flooded and all of my property soaking wet meaning my clothes for the next 5 to 6 days. I then called the front desk which their hours were from 8 AM till 10 PM at that point it was 9 PM I got no answer and I left a message explaining the flooded room in my situation and to please call me back ASAP. By 2 oclock the next day I had not heard any response so I then went to the front desk to speak to the general manager who told me he would try to have somebody come up there and take a look at it. I explained that all of my clothes were soaking wet and his response was you should find a dryer to dry them off then . Upon returning back to my room later that evening I found that all that had been done was a dish pan stuck underneath it. I then waited until Saturday to contact the general manager to see if he had had a response from his corporate office who he said he had to email about my boat and he responded with no I havent checked my email I am off. Upon going back to my room I dropped my phone charger underneath the bed as I moved it to get my phone charger I noticed the floor had used Band-Aids dirt trash covering the floor underneath the bed which showed a complete lack of being cleaned. Every night we stayed there we were unable to find parking because the guests who decided they did not want to pay the boat slip fee would pull their boats into the parking lot taking up all the parking spots most of the time leaving their boats hanging out into the road and we would have to park all the way down by another marina and walk all the way to our rooms because of a lack of space or the ability to navigate through the parking lot because of the vehicles being left in the road. All of these issues were told to the general manager who would not respond in anyway to my phone calls. Today August 10 I reached out to see if a response had been received from his email to his corporate office and he told me it wasnt their problem and then explained that I was unhappy with the customer service that had been provided or better yet lack of and his response was what do you expect me to do about it. At that point I explained to the general manager calmly and professionally that in his position I would have expected him to be a little more proactive at which point he hung up the phone on me and would not answer when I called back. I have pictures to document every instance in this report. The general managers name is Chris Schmidt.

Hotel really expensive for the service and the the condition of the rooms and all the common areas, abandoned aspect need maintenance. I been in different hotels in the keys and for a little more of this price you could get better hotel not worth it for the price. Nasty look and a/c not working good room really hot and dirty it has broken tiles and a lot of damage on the room.

It is a lovely place to stay. Great location. I have booked it through priceline but this property still charged me the resort fee. Breakfast needs to be improved. Room was neat and clean.

This was a last minute trip (July) during “Covid 19”, we enjoyed this facility to its fullest. The staff Chris, Kaitlin to name a few members were most accommodating! Decided to stay here for the night on the way to Key West and we were happy that we did. Room was cozy, clean, and well kept. Pool seemed pretty nice and the dock/ocean was only a short walk. Would definently stay here again.

Banana Bay is a very quiet, low-key resort. There was a limited number of staff and their hard work and friendliness was appreciated during our week-long stay. There isnt a beach, but it has a very simple beach bar with seating (on sand) that is opened in the evening with a nice view of the marina/gulf. The resort also has two tennis courts and a pool with a bar that is opened in the afternoon. If youre looking for a quiet, clean place to chill and unwind, this is a great resort.

It is easy to pass by the hotel entrance. The building I stayed in had 1 small ice machine for 2 floors. There is a nice location on the water to watch the sunset. The waterfront balconies are about 100 yards from the water. There are also apartments next door that overlook your balcony. There is also a marina between you and your direct water access.

Very friendly staff, nice location, good marina for my boat, and nice room. would recommend to anyone and would stay there again

Went here last year, it was a great experience. Family-friendly place with amazing amenities and a marina in the back. Awesome customer service. Definitely would come over here after the quarantine ends.

Positive: Room was good and pool was good. Negative: Grounds and beach were not kept up. Beach was not even usable. Parking is a mess. this was a basic motel and not a resort.

This was our second vacation at Banana Bay Resort! It goes without saying that our first visit was memorable! This time we decided to stay one more night for a total of 5 nights..great move!We really relaxed, spending some time floating in the pool, (love the salt water instead of chlorine!)but also took advantage of the location to plan activities in Key West a couple of afternoons/evenings.Our room was just as comfortable as last time, incredibly comfortable bed(we struggle with finding comfortable beds when we travel..at home we have a truly wonderful memory foam mattress).Our room seemed to be very quiet..couldnt hear tv or voices from neighboring rooms, only from people in hallway.We really enjoy the natural looking landscaping rather than the perfectly manicured look. Often we strolled through the grounds hand in hand admiring the plants, quizzing each other to find their names. It is so nice to have the room ( and freedom) to be able to roam the grounds. We were going to play tennis but it was just too hot this trip.We look forward to our next visit! Hoping you might have the pool resurfaced by then!

Its very clean, great staff, and a wonderful place to stay. Coffee kinda stinks, but Dunkin is down the street. Im sure the other amenities are great, but they were closed due to the Wu-Flu.

I felt that a nights stay at the resort was fairly priced, although there was an unexpected resort fee added on when we checked in. It would have been right to have know about it beforehand. Overall is was a good place to stay. Friendly staff and friendly guests too. Nice pool and hot tub. The resort sits next to a Marina and it was only about a 100 yard walk to it where you could sit by the ocean and enjoy a drink at the tiki bar. My family and I would certainly stay there again if needed.

After the devastation of hurricane Irma hit the Florida Keys last year, sadly you can still see the affects. But the Banana Bay Resort did a good job making this a wonderful Keys Resort. Great rates, areas to watch the beautiful sunsets, many amenities including Better then Most Water Sports, Newly remodel rooms & close to great attractions. The staff were friendly & accommodating. We highly recommend when visiting the Florida Keys, stay in Marathon at the Banana Bay Resort.

This was one of the worst experience of my life when I arrived at the hotel I was told there was there were no rooms. Even though I had booked this in advanceat first I was given a dirty room that hadnt been cleaned next I was given a king even though I already requested to Queens. from there they didnt have any of the breakfast was told that management was cleaning the rooms and the rooms were filthy and not sanitized at all.. the staff was very rude if you even ask for anything and for the price that we had a paper room I would expect either to the rooms to be sanitized clean. Do not stay here

We spent a lovely evening down by the tiki bar. Its a romantic gathering spot where couples can enjoy the sunset or gaze out over the ocean. Tonight we got to watch a couple who were fishing..catch a beautiful mangrove snapper. Another couple spotted some lobsters as well as small nurse sharks. We saw some very pretty and colorful parrot fish. It was a really perfect evening!

It was ok, but not clean. Upon entering our room, we found empty soda cans and junk food wrappers on the floor near a table. I couldnt believe it! But the worst was my girlfriends baby stepped on a broken piece of glass, causing him to scream crying and bleeding for an hour. We brought the matter to the attention of the girl at the front desk the next morning, and she took pictures of the babys foot, the piece of glass, and the left-in-room garbage, as well as the towels soaked in the babys blood. She said shed bring it to the attention of the manager, but we heard nothing from anyone. We felt we were entitled to some adjustment to our bill at the very least, but NOTHING.

Enjoyed our stay at Banana Bay Resort. Resort is quiet, relaxed, nice dock & waterfront view from the tiki bar area even though it was not open due to the gail winds blowing in. Still a nice view while having my morning coffee.

This place was even BETTER than the photos! Robert at the front desk was especially GREAT- He took the time to answer questions and draw us a map to our room location. (even though it wasnt difficult to find) In comparison to many other nearby options we were blown away by the heated pool, giant in ground hot tub and overall cleanliness of the entire place. Im annoyed by resort fees in general but in this case it was totally worth it! This place was AWESOME!!

I expected a luxury resort, but instead it was an average hotel. Things in the room were not working, the curtain was broken so the front desk clerk had to rig it to close it. The breakfast was all packaged food that required you get it from the refrigerator and put in the microwave to cook. There was nothing fresh. The dining area was small with limited seating. My rating is 3 stars only because the staff was friendly, the rooms were nicely decorated, and the soap in the shower was moisturizing and smelled fresh.

This Resort is a hidden gem! Clean and very spacious rooms with great amenities. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The property itself is kept clean and its located just north of Key West and south of the other Florida Keys.

Awesome place with nice staff! The beachside bar was the perfect place to spend a serene sunset. Our room was spacious with a balcony and amazing view of the ocean.Only downside is that the pool area could’ve been nicer - it seems fairly run-down relative to the rest of the establishment.

Reception is snooty and not hospitable or accommodating at all. Late checkout was not available even though there is clearly availability and it says vacant outside. The rooms are clean but the beds are a bit hard and had a clear ant problem. The pool needs regular maintenance to the fact that there was dried up dog poop. See images. The pool towels are nowhere near the pool.We were here on Friday and Saturday and they gave us two useless complimentary tiki bar tickets, but the tiki bar was never open.

Almost a hidden gem in the heart of Marathon! From the start I couldnt find the location because the sign out front its basically invisible and when I finally found it, more than a pleasant surprise . Great room almost new design I see, everything looked new inside. Free parking, quick check-in, large pool, tiki bar, bay in the back and awesome view of the ocean. I paid $219 for a 1 night stay on Sunday but somehow they charge me another $50 as deposit and then they will refund it after 3-5 days. In walking distance you can find restaurants, Publix grocery store, a pizza place and a CVS.

The rooms have been updated, the beds are very comfortable, the pool and hot tub area is very nice, shower had great pressure, front entrance and front desk area is dumpy so are the hallways and the exterior. Location is great. Service was good and the room was always cleaned well. I would stay here again for sure.

Great little resort, we stayed for a couple days to visit friends in from out of town. The rooms were really great (very clean, and modern) and the marina bar was an awesome place to watch the sunset. If we have the opportunity to stay again we will. Ive added a picture of the marina from our room.

Room was lovely & clean. Large property. There is an extra tourist charge. No other hotels that we stayed in the Keys charged this. Also disappointed there was not a breakfast. When I booked it said breakfast included. I only book hotels with breakfast included.

Extremely satisfied with my stay at the banana bay resort.the rooms were super clean, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I believe this is my favorite resort (HANDS DOWN) out of all the places Ive stayed in all the keys.. I am most definitely coming back to this Resort, And will be referring yall to everyone I know!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!! We had a wonderful stay, the hotel was clean, convenient, comfortable.WE were put in room 333 . She said the view was better there . Although it was nice Id of preferred the other side of the building looking towards the water.. Over all 10 stars I will be back off season C

Resort was nice . The cleaning crew needs to improve a little the floors were still really dirty and the shower stall.

It was a nice little place for the money. Newly updated rooms, marina attached, 2 bars, one with a great view of a sunset. The front desk was extremely helpful and the rooms were very clean. It is only 30-40 min down to key West so if youre looking for a great keys experience without blowing your budget this is a great way to do it.

Beautiful lush grounds with banana trees everywhere! Pool area is nice, but definitely needs more lounge chairs to accommodate guests. The hot tub needs to be resurfaced in a major way! The buildings and rooms are wonderful. Comfy beds, fantastic open showers, beautiful balconys and nice sized sitting areas. For me I didnt like that there was no beach access. I love to snorkel in the bay and I couldnt do so. Otherwise, excellent place to stay!

Everything was amazing. From the first phone call I made, Shana who works front desk, was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The room looks just like the pictures, the view from the room was beautiful. The resort offers so many activities right in the back, you hardly need to leave. It truly was a great experience from the customer service to the bedding. Looooooooved this place!

The biggest issues I had were they the room did not have enough lighting, especially above the sink, which made it difficult to get ready. The shower was made out of a strange material that looked like laminated wood flooring and there was mold in some of the crevices which is pretty disappointing for a resort.Breakfast was a variety of bagels, waffles, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. Nothing too hearty, but good enough.Front desk staff was friendly. They offer bikes, bocce ball and horseshoes to keep you entertained if you stay on the resort. The pool and hot tub was a nice amenity, although the area could use some updating. The resort doesnt have a full liquor license so they only sell beer and wine products, but the lady serving at the tiki bar was nice.

We came here last minute as we were planning to stay in Key West but couldnt find anything other then a tent rental for $150 USD a night lol so we drove the 48 minutes down the road to Banana Bay and were pleasantly surprised. Definitely underrated. The room was nicely decorated, beautiful sunsets, fun lawn games near the beach bar. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.The pool is a bit dated but does the job. The only downfall was that our room was facing the hwy so we could hear traffic, but a room facing the other side would have been excellent!

Have stayed here a couple times, and always loved the little beach area. This year though it was taken away by the previous storms and the high winds of the winter. Overall great place though. Nice big pool, very quiet. Happy to see they are updating the place, everything looks nice.

The pictures make the resort seem nicer than it is. That being said, the rooms are very pretty and the view from the sunset bar is fantastic. While our room was pretty (tastefully decorated), it was very dusty - visible layer of dust on the mirror over the bed and the TV, etc. The pool area seems like it hasnt been updated in 20 years. Overall, this place was a little disappointing but not bad, except for the dust.

Stayed five days, enjoyed the whole time there. Our room was updated and very modern. The bar near the Marina area offered spectacular views (especially sunsets). The photos that they have posted of that area does not do it much justice. Overall very nice place to stay.

Watch for falling coconuts! Seriously our friend was injured by a falling coconut walking back from the pool, when staff were told they simply send its the trimmers fault and to be more careful..... beautiful place just be careful while walking around

The property was very clean and well-maintained. We loved the little bar on the beach; it was quaint and relaxing.

There is steps and no elevator, very little hot water in bath, nice pool and hot tub, nice staff.

Our family enjoyed this resort in the less crowded marathon area. The one down side is that theres not a place to swim in the ocean, but the pool is nice and big.

Property was well maintained and offered several things to do right there, without even leaving the property. Area was quiet and cozy.

Our room looked nice and I sleep very well, nice bed, however the room was not very clean. The service was poor, and room was not kept up, they did not replenish the toilet tissue, even when I call, I was told that they were too busy to bring it. What they called their beech was very disappointing, The view as very nice, but they ran a very sad bar, they did not have any good drinks because of their liquor license. The pool was nice, but the hot tub did not work. They only allow 2 towels for the pool, I like a towel to lay on and one to dry off; You could not even trade your towels in for fresh ones at the pool, I guess they dont like doing laundry. The complimentary breakfast was horrible. the waffles and bagels were pre wrapped and not good, the hight light of my breakfast was coffee and cereal. I will not be returning to the Banana Bay Resort....Very dissapointed!

Will stay there again. Wonderful people and location.

Not clean, terrible service from front desk nobody knows what they are doing.
