When people say American, they tend to mean someone from the United States, whereas North American would include anyone from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. That said, my favorite urban parks are not American, but Canadian. First on my list is Parc du Mont-Royal and second is Stanley Park in Vancouver. In my mind, these are 5 star events ... the first for crowning the mountain in the middle of Canadas most interesting metropolis and the second for hugging the promontory at the peninsular end of Vancouvers downtown core.

COYOTE ALERT - Do not walk small dogs unleashed near any Los Angeles park or natural area, especially around sundown to sunup. Do not leave small pets or children unattended for one second. Coyotes have been spotted recently, corresponding to several lost small dogs around Elysian Park, Debs Park, Highland Park, Marsh Park, CSULB, L.A. River and other open natural areas. Coyotes can lure and kill small dogs silently and stealthily. Enjoy the park with your leashed pet!

This is an excellent little park with lots do to for kids and access to the river path too. Its far from the typical square patch with grass, featuring a skate park and small playground equipment, and rocks and trees that little ones can play on and around. The neighborhood is pleasant too.

Is excellent but when the gang members who live in the river are scary and we can not call anyone to be on duty because if you call the police they do not arrive .all a colored man arrives by bicycle almost every day at night and the police knows him because I try to rape me and they do not grab him. The police are waiting for me to get my own justice maybe. that man along with others are painting the streets of grafitti with the letters ftr + 3 everywhere. They are the garbage of this sector.

On our way to Marsh park, we started to get nervous, the area surrounding seems a little bit shady, but we pulled into Marsh park, and it was like a light turned on and music played. The park is modern, and absolutely beautiful. There are picnic tables, and some buildings to get shade under (we saw some people doing yoga in one of them) and its a phenomenal place to gain access to the LA river bike trail. Parking was free, and there seemed to be plenty, at least the Sunday morning we went. If youre okay with the somewhat shady area, this is a great place for a leisurely afternoon at a park.

Great park and good entry point for the bike trail. Also EV chargers!

Nice park, but it needs a few things in my opinion. First, there is hardly any shade for actually throwing a blanket down and relaxing. This is California where the sun shines a lot. Secondly, no playground or sandbox for the little kids, but they built a skate park next door that has constant noise all day for the park goers and the neighbors. Lastly, it’s noon on Saturday and I put my blanket down on WET grass. How is that enjoyable! Figure out a watering schedule that doesn’t make the grass wet for the people who want to lay on a blanket and relax. I hope the park management reads this.

Skate park is really dope, but most of the ramps are metal so during hot days they burn you if you fall on them.

Nice little park tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Its complete with a skate park, exercise equipment, clean bathrooms, green spaces, and plenty of places to sit. I often come here to charge my EV and run along the LA River or walk my dog. Its never crowded or busy when Im there. Opens and closes at sunrise and sunset.

A little spider crawled into my ear hole while I was at this park. Hung out in my head for an hour or so, then left while I was at the dinner table. Really odd experience for me. I could hear it crawling around inside there. Five stars for a truly unique afternoon.
