The best place ever!!!!!!!! My Wife and I had the best day here. It is small but so intimate and you will be amazed at everything you see. I thought it was way cooler than the regular zoo! Go go go!
Very fun place for small children up to 5 years. Lots to see and explore! Run till they drop. Story time around 11 am. Play rooms. Airplane, ambulance, school bus, fire truck. Lots to keep them busy and stimulate the imagination. Parking in the building but fills up fast. Parking on street difficult. OBEY SIGNS! Some days grandparents free!
It was cool, the kids had fun and we were out of there within an hour (the place is pretty small) but for the price you pay, you cant really complain. It was a bit confusing locating the place since its actually inside another building but the parking attendant helped us out. They also have random art sessions so if youre interested in those, Id call or check online to see the times theyre available ️
Best place to take your kids! Spent 2 hours there and enjoyed every minute. The staff is super friendly. They have a fun water activity table which kids love & little stations throughout the entire place that are full of activities. They have a good size snack area so you can bring your own food. It is a very clean & organized. A good learning place to go. Highly recommend.
This is a perfect place for the weekend trip with your kids. Here your kids can enjoy yourself and try some art craft, also there is room for snacks (you can bring your own). Nice and pleasant place, surely will come back one day.
Always an amazing experience the children love everything about the Zimmer museum and I do too! Covered parking, indoors in a secure building and has a lunch room. Go Zimmer!
I love the place my 1 year old love it soo much she didnt want to leave. The reason i give it 4 stars is because the ball pit needs a little more control. My daughter loved everytging but that because kids around 7 and 8 were jumping smashing to the ground in front of her. I even got sched she would get hurt.
This place was pretty cool. A hidden gem for sure. I would have never known there was a kids museum there from the outside. I was looking into memberships but unfortunately theyre moving in January to Santa Monica. Wish I knew about this place sooner before they decided to leave. If I lived closer I would totally go again!
Awesome small museum for little kids. Even better with EBT Card free admission!
Great place to bring the kids...great imaginationstores and players for children
This place moved to Santa Monica in January. It is now called Cayton Childrens Museum. You will not find the website OR the correct address if you search under Zimmer Childrens Museum. Such a great place, worth the drive.
Such a great place! Less of a museum and more of a two-story entertainment center for your little ones. My daughter loved every bit of the facility from the play cockpit to the play ambulance and fire truck. Plus she got to dress up as a firefighter! There is a water table with streams that you can redirect. Then theres a glow-in-the-dark shadow room which is fun for the kids, if only for a quick second. The play rooms for the store, kitchen, temple (it is a Jewish facility after all), and reading room all kept my little one busy. I appreciate that there is a special area that is designated for babies only. There was a constant watch by by the staff so unruly kids were quickly dealt with. Overall, wed definitely go again if we were in the area. Plan on spending a couple hours or more!
Fun place lots to offer went to a birthday party there was fun. And b we ended other times. They have a lot of things that you can do there like shop for fake food, play in the water area, ride an ambulance. its really fun for the kids, they love it. the only thing I dont like about it is that its in the basemen, it has no light, other than that its great. I do hear theyre moving to a new location on the Westside maybe theyll have more light.
Great for smaller kids. Kinda small and cute but a little run down. They are moving soon, so the facility will be much bigger and newer. Staff is friendly but boring. Great for rainy/teachers on strike days!!
This place was fun, but smaller than I expected. It is a great place for children start are under 10 years old, I think. However, it is a great place really promotes kids to use their imaginations and creativity to play.
2/15/2017The Museum: Livingsocial has a deal now $15 for two adults and two children. It is a 2 stories museums. Ground floor and basement. Ground floor, pretty small space, not much stuffs for kids to play. Basement has a lot more interesting games, informative and educational. They even offer free art workshops. Need to check their calendar. There is a snack room so you can bring your own food and drinks to the museum. You can definitely spend hours there with your kids. The Parking: It doesnt have museum sign outside the parking lot. Sharing parking lot with Jewish Federation building. You will see security guards standing in front of the parking entrance. They designate a small parking area for museum. Free.
My little guy got to play with all of the favorite vehicles he sees driving by. Planes ambulances boats you name it she had a great time playing with it
The location is kind of hard to figure out its the building with the parking structure. There is heavy security also friendly enough to guide you through. The place is great for kids especially in this hot summer and affordable. You can also get tickets through Groupon.
Chaotic and closed off compared to other kids play areas. Less of a learning museum and more of a free-for-all. Equipment is old and tattered. Too many small areas and tiny rooms where kids can disappear and get easily lost. Seems like most of the time is spent searching for the kids and less time enjoying it.
My kids loved it but be sure to make sure youre going to the correct location. They moved recently.
Such a fun place for kids! My kids lived all the interactive play. Exhibits are very creative and thoughtful. Who doesnt love a boat surrounded by a sea of ball pit.
My first time visiting and we will definitely be back! The child size kitchen, cafe and water table was a huge hit with my 3 year old daughter. The activities are so hands on and keeps them busy while stimulated. Its a perfect getaway when youre trying to release all that extra energy your little one is carrying around.Just be sure to get there a little early on the weekends..
I used to love this place but because its moving I think they gave up caring about cleanliness and repairs. It was pretty gross and it seemed like everything we touched didnt work. I gave it 4 stars because I think they are treating it this way due to the move so giving the benefit of the doubt I give them 4. If I rated it as is then 2.
Not much to do here. This place is more for like 2 - 5 year olds. My kids liked it. The whole place is in the basement of the building. They need better ventilation and air conditioning. I wouldnt go back. And dont get me started with the parking. They check your cars for bombs! Seriously.
I took my 4 year old kid to this place. He absolutely loved it and didnt want to leave. It is a good place for kids to play and for parents to take a short break.
We were visiting for the week from Michigan and did everything L.A. had to offer - of all the things my 5-year old said she enjoyed, the childrens museum was at the top of her list. The kids loved the water play and the boat over the ball pit.
Great museum with lots of hands-on displays. We celebrated our daughters third birthday here and everybody has a great time. It gets pretty crowded on the weekend so I advise visiting during the week if possible.
It wasnt great experience if you can say. But for my toddler good, small place a few things no work well its really tiny it better for toddlers than big kids.I just park outside on the street . Depends on your kid you can spend maybe an hour or less is small.
This museum is amazing for young children. I would recommend coming early because the hands on exhibits arent all over the place like at the end of the day. Theres also a parking structure which is nice because its in a part of town with heavy traffic and only meter parking.
Great place to bring your kids and is always a pleasure to come to
Small, but densely packed with fun. Make sure the check the event calendar, lost of cool little events happening.
A great place for kids under 7!Im a busy parent and when Im have free time I try to take my kids to different places, in Los Angeles there really few places where you can take your kids and they can spend hours, on our first visit with my 6 year old, We stayed there for 5 hours, I let her play, explore, and to whatever she wanted to, they have areas for toddlers, babies and kids.Make sure you get snacks for you and your kids, they have a snack area with vending machines, they have free parking on a first come, first serve basis, try to go before 3pm when is less crowded, your kid will love it!
It was ok. Its cute but small and very simple but to be fair its for kids 8 yrs old and younger. Overall, we enjoyed it as a one time visit. I would say its more toddler driven. My 5 yr old went through it quickly and lost interest but my 2 year old seemed to enjoy herself. Im sure it also depends on the maturity of the child not just the age.
My 6 year old son loves this place! Hes been coming here since since he was around 3 years old and consistently asks to come back. Its a small place, but theres a ton of fun things for kids to do. My son could be here all day if it was up to him. Its a bit pricey, but worth it because the kids have so much fun and theres so much wisdom everywhere.
My kids ages 1½ and 3y old had a great time! We only spend 2hours there because it was closing but couldve easily spend about 5 hours. They have a few fun water activities, a few light activities, building activities, dress up theater, life size fire truck, ambulance, doctors office, and many more great activities for the littles. Awesome place for toddlers and young children!
Nice place for the kids. My son is 3yr old and he loved it.
Great for young kids. The current location is scheduled to close as they prepare too move into a new space that has much more capacity, early next year.
I took my nephew and he had an awesome time. They have a lot of activities for all the kids. I would recommend this place to all my friends.
Fun for kids and lots to do. May be better with kids under 4 but overall a good place to spend a few hours playing with the interactive exhibitions and seeing all the different areas. Parents be warned, this place is MAYHEM!!!
Indeed it is a great place for children. It is moving to Santa Monica
Priced good ($7.50 per person, per kid) for all the features offered, but this place is completely indoors, so it was great for us on a rainy day. They have a decent sit.down snacking area, but you bring your own food. Lovely welcoming staff. Bad cellphone reception, but Wi-Fi available.
Good place for kids but parking is a problem here and some of the exhibits look kind of run down. Good place to spend couple hours with younger kids if youre in the area. They have a special Yelp deal (free kids admission with paid adult admission).
The entire staff is amazing, fun and interesting for kids. I have been going here for the last few years with my children. it stimulates kids mind and their curiosity. Even my 1 year old loves this place. We go there during the hours that are less conjected and take our time. Id recommend this to families with kids.
The Zimmer has really gone down hill in the last few years. We were there today and it is filthy! There was no play food in the play grocery store so that whole part of the museum was useless. The bathrooms and snack room were dirty and the vending machines in the snack room were both out of order. There was no one to supervise or stop kids from jumping into the ball pit with their shoes on and there were not even enough balls for the kids to jump safely. It was just an awful and disappointing visit all around. Sad because we have been coming here for years. Maybe they just have given up on this location since the new location is opening in the winter.
Great museum, but pretty small as far as childrens museums go. Good for a 2 hour afternoon activity. My kids love it.
A more hands-on, interactive museum where a parent can not just take pictures but play and teach their children.Although their firefighter and aviator suits are pretty cool to take them pics in.
Wow, this place is perfect for kids.Especially toddlers.
I was underwhelmed. Small, a bit run-down, not that many interesting exhibits. Not that much staff around and when I had a question about an exhibit, the staff member, though friendly, had no answer and made no effort to get an answer. Snack room was sad with a unhealthy snacks in the vending machines. One and done. Not worth a second trip. On the plus side, the parking was free. Staff was friendly overall.
Love this childrens museum! So much to do and both my kids have an amazing time when we go. I tell my friends about this place!
Best time weve had on our vacation yet! Kids loved it.
There is so much awesome stuff to go through. We did not make it all in one day. Will be back definitely.
The location moved but my little ones liked it
I was a guest with my littles class and I can say that its a fun place to be at. Very interesting and so full of life and excitement. I enjoyed every second of it. Will definetly go back.
Too much to see in one day. Fantastic collections of all kinds. Many permanent exhibits that are very good. App did not function on day of our visit.
This was a nice little quaint museum. It was pretty small but the price wasnt too bad for what it was. When we went there was plenty of staff walking around and they all were nice and seemed to be enjoying their job. The place is more like a big playground than what i would refer to as a Museum and felt quite dirty (as youd expect for a playground but i cant imagine the last time every thing was sanitized). It seems more fit for toddlers but our 7 year old enjoyed herself, just not as much as our 2 year old.A few things caught me off guard when we were there though, for starters that its in the Jewish Federation building so even though parking was free it was weird to be subject to a car search, (we werent but theyre are signs telling us they could if they felt it necessary), the segregated parking for the museum was quite small and even our little Jetta barely fit because the lot was mostly full (the security said we could park in the main structure but wed have to leave our keys in the car and unlocked). Walking into the building theres a metal detector and bag Xray at the entrance. The museum and majority of patrons were jewish and has a kid sized synagogue with a few games and that was surprising to me, not a bad thing in anyway and I enjoyed the diversity and teaching the kids about different beliefs, but just something I wasnt aware of until we walked in.Was fun for the kids but probably wouldnt come back to that location simply because of how small it was and it wasnt worth the drive from long beach to visit a playground that we got through in about the same time the round trip commute was for us
The museum is very small, not worth 7dlls admission, my 2 kids were throwing plastic balls at each other (note there we the only 2 kids at the pit) one of the staff members comes and asked them to stop for security issues, I thought this was ridiculous kids throw those little plastic balls at each other the whole time..u would understand if other kids were there bit these were my kids and were fine with it..i dont know. This place is good for 2-4 year old kids. Also all the toys, books, pillows etc looked very used..some of the books were so faded you could were not even able to read, and the puzzles too overall the museum is OK.
Cute little place thats worth the entry fee. Worth spending an hour or two.
My dream was to work with little kids now I am doing that and I am blessed to do that
Good place for kids. Wished had more food options.
Master 3 loved it and hassled us to go back again. We did...he enjoyed himself...I however, felt it was a bit over priced when paying for my husband and I to go in too. Maybe they should have caregivers to go in free since we are looking after our youngsters.
A whole lot of hands-on explorative play and learning going on here. Little people can be firemen, ambulance drivers, airplane pilots, actors, chefs, librarians, coast guards, and engineers. No one is there to tell them dont touch or you cant do that.
This is a very fun place to take young children, although its a bit chaotic. They have great exhibits and places to play for kids learning about the world who are eager to explore. One downside is that it is often crowded on weekends and not suited to the under 3 crowd. Its too busy, and really little ones tend to get run over.
My two year d enjoyed himself. I would definitely recommend it.
The lady at the front desk was so personable & made our trip awesome
This place is great! My 2 & 4 year olds had a blast!
Its free if you have WIC good spot to take the kids when you have nothing to do.
They will be moving to a new building in the fall and it will be too far to travel we will really miss it. The interactive exhibits are great and the kids love it.
My kids love this place. Not big but lots of fun.
What a great childrens museum!
Great and fun for kids. Took my 3 yr old and 7 yr old
A really great place for kids to play and interact with other kids. Kids can be firefighters, emt, chefs and etc.
Amazing facility for kids... So many playing options to expand on the childs imagination
Awesome experience. My crawler had lots of fun!
Usually spend 3 hours here. The art projects are super fun for the kids. Location is kid of small but it’s okay
Adults must pay the same price and no seat for them. Too expensive for what we got.
Great place for birthdays. Safe environment for kids to play and use their imagination.
A great time with my grandchildren, an Experience they will remember for life.
Too many small play area not much of a learning museum suitable for younger kids. Didn’t enjoy this trip.
My kids love this museum! Tons of things for my 6 and 3yo to do.
Great small place for kids to have fun. Not too crowded and enough for small kids (under 8) to keep them entertained for 4 hours.
My children had fun. I felt alittle out of place.. It needs a little more diversity I’ll be telling all my friends so more colored people will take their children.
Nice place to spend on a hot day. My 3year old enjoyed it.
Great for kids. Free for a military and their families.
A well kept children museum but space is an issue.
Great place to visit with kids and also great place for kids birthday
Great experience with my family. I will take my son there again.
Always crowded. The kids there are spoiled and dont like to share. So wwatch your kids...Thete is no staff supervision. You are on your own
The museum is a little small for adults, but for toddlers and young kids, its a good size. The employees are constantly monitoring the ball pit for safety, and very friendly when redirecting any overly aggressive kids. Displays are in good working order. Parking can be a pain if the lot is full.
Our toddler really liked this museum. We found that it was a bit older but for 7 dollars/person it is worth it. we went on a Wednesday mid morning and it wast busy at all.
My son is almost three and had a blast here. Tons of stuff to play with, we barely scratched the surface. Will be back.
So much fun! Only for 0-8year old and couldnt be more perfect! Just wish I lived closer to visit more!
This feels a little more like a nice play space than a museum but there is a lot of variety and it can definitely keep younger kids occupied for a solid couple of hours.
Germs alert!Has anyone else noticed you and your child get sick within 24 hours of visiting this place? If they took a black light to the ball pit im scared what they would find.Other than being sick for three days after visiting its a really fun place.
This place is awesome. First time been there and my daughter loved it
