The Hollywood Bowl is an amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was named one of the 10 best live music venues in America by Rolling Stone magazine in 2018. The Hollywood Bowl is known for its band shell, a distinctive set of concentric arches that graced the site from 1929 through 2003, before being replaced with a larger one beginning in the 2004 season. The shell is set against the backdrop of the Hollywood Hills and the famous Hollywood Sign to the northeast. The bowl refers to the shape of the concave hillside the amphitheater is carved into. The Bowl is owned by the County of Los Angeles and is the home of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the host venue to hundreds of musical events each year. It is located at 2301 North Highland Avenue, west of the (former) French Village, north of Hollywood Boulevard and the Hollywood/Highland subway station, and south of Route 101.
This is a wonderful place to see a concert. ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) was GREAT, with their elaborate light show corresponding to the music. Saw Barbra Streisand here too! FABULOUS!! I yelled out “WE LOVE YOU!” and l meant it. Over the years, we’ve seen the LA Philharmonic and other concerts, plus the 4th of July fireworks. This is an iconic place in LA.
Food from Scolaris, which has a huge line, wine from inside- sit in the dome or sit outside. Wine is good and would return again later. Theres always events or stuff to do out here, so Ill probably go back at some point!
An absolute must go venue. Use rideshare dont drive. Bring food and picnic before the show or buy food there. The restaurants are good.
Easy 20 minute walk from Hollywood/Highland metro. Theres a security bag check near the entrance and then lots of space you can explore without a ticket. Maybe the museum, too? After you have your ticket scanned, youre in the main plaza of stores for several terraces that you can climb up from the orchestra level to the W/V level. Tons of places to buy food and wine. Right in the mountain side with surrounding trees. Its lovely and peaceful.Once seated, if youre over enough to the left, you can see the Hollywood sign before it gets too dark!Seat cushions can be rented for $1. Programs can be bought for $1. Outside food and drink is allowed.Really, no negatives to this experience if you metro in or take a Lyft!
Great venue. Love the full bottle of wine option.Staff was relaxed and helped the crowd enjoy a fun safe event. Went for a Dead and Company concert so there were plenty of people pushing the boundaries if you know what I mean ;-).I stayed in a hotel in walking distance, but it looked like the parking scene could be a bit of a pain. They basically just pack everyone in so everyone is blocked in until people show up to their cars. Kinda weird.Definitely an iconic venue. You barely feel like youre in LA when youre inside the place.
The Hollywood Bowl is one of my favorite venues that I have ever been to. Any Bowl hosted event allows you to bring your own food and drinks, we like to arrive early to picnic out on the grassy knoll between the entrance and the museum. Its really just a patch of turf, but we like it! Its always a great time at the Bowl, we all know it isnt summer until you go to the Bowl!
Hollywood Bowl gardens arent the manicured, organized gardens one finds at the Huntington or the Arboretum. Instead, theyre meandering, sometimes messy. Theres something sweet and low-brow about Hollywood Bowl Gardens thats simple and relaxing. Sometimes you can watch people whove set up easels painting the pops of color amid scrubby indigenous plants, sometimes the featured attraction is watching kids chase butterflies, and sometimes its a small art exhibit. No matter the activity (or lack of one), Hollywood Bowl is always a restful, restorative place to spend an afternoon and Angelenos are fortunate to have it in our back yard.
This place is so nice! I was pleasantly surprised. There are no bad seats, due to the curved design. The parking was very interesting, people parked one behind the other and you cant leave until the people in front of you leave so we waited about 30 minutes in the car. There are a ton of food and drink options but were very pricey. They do allow you to bring food in though. Best of all you can see the Hollywood sign in the background while watching the show!
Perfect venue for a concert. Acoustics were awesome. Logistics to get in and out flawless. You can bring your own food and drinks or buy and them at the venue. We opted to walk there, which was a good idea, as parking is expensive and limited. Bring warm clothing or a blanket and during summer months use mosquito repellent. I was here for the GOT live experience, it was great experience.
One of the best venues in the world. Every seat is a good seat, and you wont be disappointed. Wear your walking shoes, because you do need to walk a bit. However, if you need assistance, there are people to help you get where you need to go. Everyone is cordial and helpful. You can bring food in to the venue, but they do check bags at security, so be prepared for that.
I would give 100 stars if I could . This is an out door venue that you must visit at least once in your life, even before you see Venice ;)It is magnificent and marvelous to be here for a live concert. I was here to witness the passion and pageantry of music of the great Russian composer Tchaikovsky / just spectacular !!No words or pictures really can do justice to the experience of being here !!
We were there for the Abba Concert Experience, a tribute band from Sweden that does an excellent job of playing Abbas biggest hits. We didnt sit in the close in box seats, but about halfway up. The ball was pretty much full and the Abba band did a good job of turning it into a giant dance party.
What a fantastic experience!! We went to see a performance of The Little Mermaid and the atmosphere could not be any better. Clear night with a great view of the surroundings. Highly recommend researching park and rides as it can get really busy especially during the summer time. Also, make sure to review the policies on what you can and cannot bring into the venue. But definitely bring snacks and drinks to make it a memorable experience!
Hollywood Bowl is a wonderful place to see a concert. Almost every seat is a wonderful seat! The sound system is great. Getting in and out isn’t too bad. It does take some time so bring your patience with you! If you can get parking in Lot A it’s the quickest way in and the quickest way out, and the closest parking to the venue. If you ask a lot attendant or any attendant as you’re walking in they should tell you where there is no line at all. You can take in coolers and blankets. You can take in food and Tupperware containers etc. just go to the Hollywood Bowl online and read the list of items. I saw many people who brought in their own unopened bottles of wine. Pretty cool! We sat next to the greatest people! The bathrooms were impeccably clean. What a nice change! It a super clean venue with top notch customer service and great food also! I highly recommend seeing a concert at this venue.
Hollywood Bowl! An amazing place to see and enjoy a variety of outstanding performers. The best part is you can pay $6-7 to park & ride avoiding traffic and bring your own food/ drinks. Its a great experience! Live music while picnicking, sipping and eating solo or with friends. Love this place!! Ive been blessed with enjoying many artists here! Hope you do too!!
What a wonderful atmosphere, and beautiful view. The Hollywood sign is in full view on the hills behind the stage area, and there are breathtaking views overlooking the city. The sound is great in this amphitheater, and there are really no bad seats here. It is also very nice having so many food places right around the venue, but they can be pretty pricey.
I havent been to the Bowl closed to 20 years. Its a great place for fun shows. They have more food vendors but people still being their own food and wine. Get there early so you can go through security, then find a spot to stretch out and eat. Everyone seems to be having a great time.
Great place, great experience. Went to see John Williams conduct the LA Phil Harmonic, it was a great time! Had far away seats but it was still spectacular even that far from the stage. Had a picnic in the picnic area as well and it was just a great time. At LA Phil Harmonic events like this one, you can bring your own drinks and food! Any drinks I highly recommend coming to a show here, its a spectacular time! Everybody who is there for the concert is really cool, and I never really met anybody that had any problems or issues, as well as the staff. Designated smoking areas, good security, and an amazing show. Highly recommend.
Lovely venue. Stage lighting and background setting are top of the line.
This is one of LA’s gems. If you want to have a great time - check out the Hollywood bowl. You can bring your own food and alcohol. When it’s packed there’s about 17,000 people there. However; it’s extremely well organized. I parked in Culver City and took the bus.
Summer in Los Angeles ain’t whole without this historic temple of the arts.
One of the best musical experiences of my entire life happened here at the Hollywood Bowl. I went to see Jurassic Park In Concert and it was absolutely spectacular. The L.A. Philharmonic was excellent, the acoustics were awesome, the crowd was alive and excited for every minute of the show.
Parking is challenging. Once your in your in til the end. No way of leaving early if u wanted to. It is stacked parking and $26 to park. If your ok with that then no problem.Inside there a lot of places to eat, but not enough staff. Long lines and pretty pricey. If all possible eat before you come and have your drinks outside ( alcohol). Ready all rules before coming. The seating is like a plank of wood. You can rent cushions for $1 but if u bring a blanket u can use it to sit on. Or bring your own cushion. The concert ( The little mermaid) was amazing. We went to a 8pm show and got chilly. Bring jackets, blankets etc. What I did like was that there was traffic control officers to assist u before and after the show.
The Hollywood Bowl is a great large, outdoor venue, with the best sound system, in a beautiful park setting. Its the summer home for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Prices are very reasonable when its a H. Bowl event, and you can bring your own drinks, food and enjoy live music outdoors. It is after the Beach, the second greatest thing in Los Angeles. So go enjoy!
Very casual atmosphere for a music venue. Surprised by people being allowed to bring in outside alcohol. Good acoustics and scenic views. Saw Ben Harper, who put on a great set as always. As a Coloradan, it is hard to beat Red Rocks, but this was a great place to experience a show!
Wonderful place. Never been there so as the first time I went I was fascinated. I remember my childhood like the Bugs Bunny cartoons where he was here singing opera. It is a really nice and excellent view every seat is good. With good view and sound.
The acoustics of this place are mind-blowing! Its a must visit for anyone who loves music. Food/ drinks are expensive inside but youre allowed to bring your own picnic! Check online for size restrictions for bags/coolers. Bathrooms are clean and plenty. I wasnt able to find a place to refill water bottles. It would be nice if the management made free water accessible.
Season ticket holder x over 25 years. Love to picnic or go to The Backyard prior to the concert with the L.A. Phil or other great artists. We are under the stars, eating, drinking wine with good friends, what could be better than that?
Awesome place for concert in the summer. Go early and have a picnic before the concert. Any event by Philharmonic, you can bring your own wine and alcohol to enjoy.our favorite place to enjoy concert.
If you haven’t been, go check this out. Awesome venue
Great venue Outstanding performance. Andre Bocelli spectacular.
What an interesting and geographically awesome venue! The mountains surrounding you and the Hollywood sign in the distance makes for an unforgettable experience. Seeing Star Wars: A New Hope with a full orchastra was an incredible experience that anyone interested in going Star Wars should enjoy!
Went to an Andrea Bocelli concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It was my first experience there. What an awesome place! Such a cool venue! It was pretty easy to find parking.. They allow you to bring food in so you can really get a full experience. The concert was amazing! It was so much fun I turned around and booked another event as soon as I got home. Cant wait to go back! If youve never been there you are totally missing out!
One of the best venues in America. Bands love to play here and the energy is unmatched. Arrive early and bring a picnic dinner. Look at the calendar and find events for the whole family.Be prepared to wait a long time to get out at the end of the night. But do yourself a favor and don’t get mad at the parking— it was a wonderful evening.
One of my favorite music venues in LA. Nothing says summer in LA like a concert at the Bowl. We like to arrive early to picnic at the tables as you can bring your own food and wine in (except for leased events - alcohol not permitted for those). When possible, we try to get the boxes in the lower half to picnic in. But Ive sat in the front and the back - sound is amazing everywhere. And they have screens to see whats on stage no matter where you sit. Seeing 5 shows the this summer! Highly recommend!
Had such a great time at this venue last night for The Dead And Company Show!!! Sound was amazing and the light show was almost one of the best I have ever seen. Beer wasn’t too pricey but a bit over taxed, that’s ok I expect that inside a show venue. For being in the middle of Hollywood when you’re inside you completely forget that. Lots of trees surround this place, so that makes the experience just that much better!!! Parking is cheap we paid 26$ on the property. It’s stacked parking so remember that, once you park that’s it until the people around you move, it was fine with me, we were the last to leave the parking lot anyway. The vending area outside was a grassy parking lot across the street from the venue!!! Thank you for a real good time!!!
Excellent as always, but writing this review based on the parking entry/exit process. We had parking passes for Lot A, which it turns out is at the very top of the hill. We waited maybe 10 minutes after lights came on, finished out last glass of wine and wakes up to the car. Amazingly, within 6 mins or so, we were on the 101 heading home. Great system to get the cars out and on the road.
Great acoustics! Great vibe! All seats are fabulous with a variety of ticket prices. Love the large screens! Fab restaurants on property, and you can carry your bottle to your seats! Fun night!
Incredible natural outdoor concert venue. You can bring your own food and beverages. Many folks brought coolers. They have great seating, the large screens are clear, great camera work by the camera operators. They rent seat cushions for the benches. Parking is rather crazy, you want to get there 1hour before the event starts for a decent past. Cant wait to go again.
Had a great experience here! the music, the crowd its a next level entertainment! Parking was not so bad, the security was tight which is amazing! you feel safe throughout the whole show!!! also its a pretty clean place! Make sure you catch a show you will love it :)
My favorite venue. Hands down the best place to see your fave artist or movie (live with orchestra). If youve never been, I highly recommend seeing at last one event here, sit in the boxes if you can, but seriously, there are no bad seats. The area is beautiful. Always double check beforehand, but for certain events youre allowed to bring in alcohol and food. Recently saw John Legend here and have also seen LaLa Land live with orchestra. Dont hesitate, just buy a ticket and check it out, youll be glad you did.
Legendary spot for all kinds of music. Also seen in some famous cartoons A must see if you’re in LA.
Whats not to love about the Bowl? Very easy transportation offered via dedicated bus lines for $7.00 round trip!!! The sound we quality is amazing & there really isnt a bad seat in the house. Enjoy a night under the stars in Hollywood ♡
Best place in LA for a concert. The Hollywood bowl had such great acoustics, Ive been to so many shows here and the sound is great everywhere in the venue. The video screens they have are great when you have seats near the back. If you can get seats down near the front they have tables, you can bring food and eat during your show. I cant wait to see my next concert at the bowl !!!
Nice to visit during the day with nobody present other than a security guard and free entry!
The Hollywood bowl is great venue. We sat in the upper section. Although the seats are bench style they were comfortable. Its nice that they allow you to bring in your own picnic and wine. I highly recommend to park off-site and take a shuttle.
Went to see Jennifer Hudson, her show was phenomenal, just like her voice. The ladys got some pipes! So beautiful and enchanting. The evening from our box was a night to remember with wine and food to complete the experience! Loved every moment!
Not being from the area, and never having been to this venue, I was happy with my experience. Its refreshing that there are still some venues that allow you to bring food and picnic there. We ate before we went, but I saw all the delicious food from the concessions and kind of wished we hadnt. One person in our party needed some mobility accommodations and the staff was well prepared and made that happen. All in all it was a pleasant evening and a spectacular show.
I absolutely love the Hollywood Bowl and the performances there. I’ve seen Star Wars, Harry Potter, and John Williams and all were amazing experieces! The LA Philharmoic is outstanding! The service is good and the seats are fine. I’d give this a 10 out 5 if I wanted. It’s very amazing and I’d recommend anyone to see a performance here at least once in their life.
Wonderful experience and overall evening at Hollywood Bowl! Pretty much all seats have a good view. I strongly recommend bringing a picnic basket and some drinks early to enjoy a lovely picnic in Hollywood Bowl before your show. Rows are long so I recommend getting seats on the end if you want access to get out. Enjoy a lovely, iconic evening under the Hollywood sign!
This is a great venue and gets fantastic acts. They changed policy and now you cant bring fluids. I didnt rent a seat cushion this visit, big mistake. Bring a seat cushion or rent one.
Great venue for events, place has good security measures, food inside is okay, prices are high like any other venue. Parking is limited and gets full fast, so be early to get a close spot, or they provide shuttle service for a fee. Overall great experience and great venue.
The Hollywood Bowl has changed drastically over the years. Huge additions and upgrades. Very nice outdoor table service restaurant with bar. Gourmet pizzas and sides. A couple of Beer and Wine bars through out. Personal food and drink service with menu if sitting in boxed or pit seating area. Use the Free shuttle buses at specific locations to get there and back, so easy. Or Uber/lyft it. Security is on par and strict. Make sure everyone in your party has a ticket or snapshot of it when finding your seats.
First time at the Hollywood Bowl. We went to see the Little Mermaid Live to Film Concert Experience, and it was incredible. The venue was excellent and I cant wait until we go back for another show. We got to see celebrities like Lea Michele, Ken Page, Cheech Marin, and many others. Beautiful and historical place.
Iconic venue set in the Hollywood Hills. The acoustics are good, they have a great soundsystem. Some of the food and drinks are a little pricey, but some nights allow you to bring in your own! If youre sitting high up it can be hard to see the stage, but they have screens with close-ups which are useful.
Ive been here dozens of times - the box seats are definitely the way to go if you can get tickets. Otherwise make sure to bring a cushion to sit on the seats in the nosebleed section.
Amazing venue. You dont realize how giant it is, or what a steep slope its built into until youre inside. Seating in higher rows is on benches - you may want to bring a cushion if youd struggle with a hard seat for several hours. Lots of food/drink options on site, but youre also allowed to bring in your own food and drink, but check on the rules for your specific event, as you cannot bring your own alcohol in for leased events. Being a sweater, the nights can get chilly.
Really cool venue. Beautiful view. Lots of concession choices. Bathrooms easily accessible. Parking sucks because its stacked parking, so at the end of the night you need to wait for those in front of you to pull out. Otherwise, really enjoyed it.
I saw John Williams and it was extremely good. Great historic venue and they have classical concerts here and you can attend the rehearsals for free.
I love visiting for the free morning public rehearsals of the LA Philharmonic (and free parking). Such an iconic venue, with some of the best, music ever written by one of the best orchestras in the world. Such an incredible and free experience!
This was a great evening! The bowl was a great place for this concert: the sound was good and the place was almost completely packed! I picked up the rotisserie chicken meal and although over priced it tasted really good. The coffee was very good, but oh well. Parking can fill up if you come late, so dont do that.Highly recommend checking out an event they have.
Some of my favourite of all time concerts and sounds of come out of this venue. If you are in Los Angeles during a live event at the Hollywood Bowl do yourself a favour and find a way to purchase tickets and go.This is a once in a lifetime experience. You’re also almost always guaranteed perfect weather whenever you go and book. You can’t ask for something better than that.
Fantastic iconic venue with good facilities. Acoustics were excellent. If there is content on interest here when visiting LA, it’s a must do.Saw The Who, loved it!
A place you will visit again and again. The relaxed atmosphere and an excellent acoustic make this place great for classical music concerts. I visited bowl for just three times yet and was really enjoy. The only concern is about parking, it could take hours to leave a parking lot after the concert. So, be smart, find a parking within walking distance and take a walk.
Great music at exquisite venue. Went early and parked in lot B...only mistake was did not find the sushi shop on the west side . Wasted my dinner on turkey sandwich...plain. but feel free to bring your own supper and wine mm mmm
This place is so nice! I was pleasantly surprised. There are no bad seats, due to the curved design. The parking was very interesting, people parked one behind the other and you cant leave until the people in front of you leave so we waited about 30 minutes in the car
Love it. The best open air place. U can bring the own food and wine.
One of the best venues in America. Bands love to play here and the energy is unmatched. Arrive early and bring a picnic dinner. Look at the calendar and find events for the whole family. I take my kids to see John Williams perform every year— super fun.Be prepared to wait a long time to get out at the end of the night. But do yourself a favor and don’t get mad at the parking— it was a wonderful evening.
Great venue to watch concerts. If you have issues with smokers, marijuana or excessive displays of enthusiasm, then get tickets in last row on top. The view is better, the sound is better and you can enjoy it better. Bring a picnic basket. No open beverages, but you can bring unopened plastic bottles, food, snacks, jello shots The night sky is beautiful above the bowl. There is a bright cross in the hills to remind us of who created the beautiful nature and of course the Hollywood sign to remind us of where you are. Enjoy
What to tell about this place?By far the most gorgeous outdoors venue in town. Big lover of The Ace Theater Hotel, but that one is indoor. What I love about this place: picnic area, iconic building, amazing accoustics, and normally big bands and musicians playing. The majority of shows let you bring your own food, but alcohol most of the times is prohibited unless you buy it within the premises. Also for those who smoke there are several smoking areas throughout the venue.
So, my first time in this venue and here are a few things I’d like to have known before. You can bring your own stuff like a cooler with any drink that’s not alcohol, food, little blanket since it’s open. I went to a Jonas Brothers concert. It is from a walkable distance from Hollywood Boulevard. You can actually see pretty hice from most of the seats, the only thing I would change are the screens, they’re tiiiiiiny
My family has been going to the Hollywood bowl for years and still love it. They just had a John Williams night starring some of his most famous movie themes. Amazing! This is what the bowl looks like when 17 thousand star wars fans gather to see their hero!
This venue really deserves all its hype. Great acoustics, fun atmosphere, and it has some amazing lineups.
This place really knows how to put on a show. If you walk to the top you can see the Hollywood sign. If its a Phil presents show you can bring food, wine and beer. Take a shuttle for convenience as parking is madness. If you can splurge get a box seat. The higher up seating is really far from the stage.
I love the bowl. I just hate getting to and from it! The venue is perfect, the sound system is devine and they have sone wonderful performances. Splurge for the super seats if possible. But most seating is great. You can also make wonderful friends before, during abs after. Ive been to the playboy jazz fest a few times. Bring extra goodies to share! Just remember only bowl sponsored events are you able to bring in food and drink. Great venue!
Iconic! Beautiful! Fun! If you want to experience a fantastic show while sitting under the stars, nestled between the Hollywood Hills, this is the place! Depending on the show, you can bring your own picnic, a bottle (or two) of wine and a sweet dessert. Lovely picnic and seating area with tables and chairs to nosh before the show, so come early. They also offer a market with food and beverages for purchase as well as a cafe for sit down dining service as well as fast food options. Check the web site for the specifics of your show.Be ready to walk because the concert seating is located on a hill. There is an elevator and an escalator but it’s difficult to visit the Bowl without doing some walking. Parking is at the bottom of the hill as well. Speaking of parking, there is plenty. They offer stacked parking which means that you park like sardines in a can and nobody can leave until everybody leaves. So there’s no cutting out early. They also offer shuttle service from various locations throughout LA. Check the website. Shuttle tickets cost less than the parking and the busses drop you off at the top of the hill right at the gate. After the show they depart from the bottom of the hill but you’re guaranteed a quick exit while those parked in the stacked lots wait.
Perfect. Nice seating. Awesome acoustics. Great weather.
Amazing show!! Had the honor to see Michael McDonald. Amazing performance, great show, awesome time. You still got it Michael!! Crowd was awesome!
Wow. Classy Venue! So much fun. Want to go again!
Best LA experience! Bring a picnic & wine. Take the bus (leave from many diff locations) no hassle w/ parking or traffic.
What better place than to enjoy 4th of July 2019 than with family and friends and good food.
We have been to the Hollywood Bowl many times. It is beautiful. Located near the Hollywood Hills and the Hollywood Sign, it seems it is craved out into the hills. It is so pretty. The place is pretty big, so there are bad seats. There are seats so bad you can not see much of the stage, so keep that in mind. The boxes are the best, but pricey. The boxes are seats of 4 each with a table in the middle and surrounded in wood. You can bring your dinner and enjoy. Behind the boxes are rows of seats, some great, some pretty bad. Behind that are the bench seats and none of them are good. They are just too far back, but they are pretty cheap so I have sat there when on a strict budget.Parking at the Bowl is the worst. It is just awful. It is stacked parking and good luck getting out and on the road even 45 minutes after the concert ends and no you will not be leaving early if you are in stacked parking. There is other parking to be had, but there is not a lot. Some restaurants will give you parking and shuttle you there if you eat there. All in all, parking is not going to ever be a good time. The sound at the Bowl is great. You are able to hear, even in the back. The stage is beautiful. It is all outdoors. There are a few places to get food and you can eat it there or take to your seats. You can bring in your own food and you can even bring in wine. If I were you I would get there early if you really want to enjoy a meal and relax before the show. Most shows end by 11:30 pm because of the homes nearby. They also tend to start on time.Another issue with the Bowl is the long walk to your seats, up ramps, up stairs, down stairs. If you have issues with walking it can be a real pain. It is a long walk. The Bowl is just beautiful though and we always go back. Despite its issues, the concerts there are great. If you ever get a chance to go there when they have fireworks, do that. Have a great time.
It is an amazing historic venue. It is beautiful to see the light slowly change. Acoustics is fantastic. They set it up right, despite it being open air. I’ve seen quite a few amazing performances there. Parking requires extra patience. It may be better to park in Hollywood and walk. You can either bring your own picnic basket or buy food and drinks there. I recommend either renting or bringing your own cushions.
Great venue! The staff are excellent at moving 17,500 people both in and out. The food is great too!
Excellent Venue! The food is expensive if you decide to eat here, but that is expected at any venue like this. They do allow you to picnic before the show however if you would like to save money. They offer programs for $1 as well as seat cushions. At least if they dont offer them for free they arent too expensive. I do suggest a seat cushion though. The evening air was cool and comfortable, but you may decide you would like a jacket or blanket come night fall. The acoustics were fantastic! We loved the show. Our seats were in Section H 17 #108 and 109 for photo seat reference.
Great venue, every seat is a good seat. My town has a similar venue but much smaller. The escalators make all the difference. Would give it 5 stars but the beer and wine prices are beyond ridiculous and trying to exit the place is near impossible.
We went to see Tchaiskovsky Concert with Fireworks by Los Angeles Philaharmonic. It was pretty amazing. The conductor was surprisingly really funny. We didnt bring a picnic but we bought a pizza on the way there and took it with us. There are alot of food options if you dont want to bring in food. Next time we will bring a picnic in a rolling cooler because it is a trek to get to your seats. I would recommend renting a seat cushion for $1 on the way to tour seat. As a bonus it has a wonderful view of the Hollywood sign. We parked at this church for $20 and the walk was like under 10 minutes, even though Google said it was more. It was very easy to get in and out. We will definitely go again. It was fun and very romantic.
Always had a blast at the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl go every year never missed cant wait till next year to do it all over again
Very enjoyable. Take a picnic basket and your own drinks. You can bring in your own beer and wine. This place is like having a cool get together with all your neighbors. Do not bring any kids if possible. You will be glad you didnt. Great for date night. Enjoy!
Great place to see the top view of LA.
Definitely a great venue for music. Also, like the Forum and other such music venues they do have smoking areas available.... but you could possibly get evicted for smoking while in the seating areas. Its not the same as an arena ( its literally outside obviously ) but some may prefer it to an arena.... there are box seats right up front that have servers bring you food and drink -- if you can afford it.
Loved the experience, hated people feeling the need to stand up once the concert starts. What ever happened to watching a concert rather than trying to peer over peoples bodies to try and get a glimpse of the artists?Took my kid to a kids concert, all he saw was the backsides of adults spoiling the view of a kids show.Shameful what we are teaching our children these days.
Absolutely amazing Paul Simon Concert. Totally classy show. It was the last of 3 nights in LA - sold out! He did 4 encores and the audience loved it. So many lovely songs and stories too.So thankful I got to see/hear him.Awesome acoustics and the jumbo screens make a huge difference to viewing pleasure.Wish they kept the screens on for Sound of Silence Cons:Hollywood Bowl however needs to do a much better job for their disabled/physically challenged patrons. The Handicap parking is higher up but still in stacked parking. It is so tight a wheelchair cannot pass between the cars! Also leaving stacked parking takes FOREVER- very poorly organized.
I love this place. I have been attending concerts and shows at the Hollywood Bowl for a decade now and it never gets old. Its such a gorgeous venue that always has a ton of great show selections. I love how you can bring your own picnic and also purchase food at the venue. Make sure you call or look up the venue policy and rules to bring in food and y9ull be fine! Recently seen the Who, Lauren Hill and Lana Del Rey in the past month. Amazing!
Such an excellent live music venue. Sound quality A+. Well organized for the volume of people. Easy in and out other than the local traffic.
As usual always a good time spent here at the bowl, never a bad seat. I recommend park and ride, taking a light jacket or blanket when it cools down in the evenings and bringing your own food but there are plenty of eateries available that are reasonably priced.
Great venue! We love the Hollywood Bowl during the summer. Bring a jacket, food, something to drink.
