My wife and I spent our Sunday afternoon here today and we had so much fun! We brought some snacks and walked around the area and had a great time. My favorite was the espresso wine (try it!) And my wifes favorite was the Peach Tea.I love how unique and different the wines are here. We are originally from Southern California and the winery scene is so rigid and stale but Shannon makes some interesting and unique flavors that you wont be able to get anywhere else! So stop by and spend an afternoon here, you wont regret it!

Unusual winery experience, but a great one! From the moment we heard the voicemail recording on the machine we knew this was not your average winery! Beautiful, quaint setting and not too far drive from Columbia. The wines were not your typical flavors!! Very creative stuff happening here!! There were a lot of different wines to try and they took the time to tell us about each one. The host/winemaker was very nice and funny. Very light hearted casual atmosphere. Looks like they are adding on a large covered porch for more seating! The wine slushie was very good. And we took home 2 bottles! I would definitely reccomend Mercer House!

Love the atmosphere here, tasting was wonderful and so was the owner. We are not wine snobs here, just folks that enjoy wine and conversation. We will definitely be back! We tried 15 different wines something for every palette although the the owner is not insulted if you dont love them all. He thrives on feedback and loves to try things outside the norm. Cant go wrong with Apple Pie! This place will not disappoint and we also got a bit of history too. Come on Sunday afternoons and youll get more history from an expert on the subject.

We had such an amazing time at Mercer. We came on a Thursday and got exclusive time with Shannon. We loved almost every wine we tasted, and got to hear the history of each. We were so excited to bring home some of the amazing wines we tried like Apple Pie, Blueberry Jalopeno and a spiced coffee wine. Would highly recommend, looking forward to slushy night!

The wife and I went there today. All 15 (well, 16) wines sampled were superb and a little off the normal if there is such a thing. They are all custom blends and are very very good, as we took a 1/2 case of assorted flavors back home with us!

A wonderful little spot in the woods, off the beaten path. Shannon was friendly and fun. I got to cork our purchased bottles, which was so much fun! Spent a few hours enjoying the courtyard and chatting with other guest. A great way to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon!

Never, ever could I recommend this place as a winery. I came because of the 4.7 rating but clearly the rating is inflated due to there being no surrounding winerys. Good for entertainment value, however the majority of winehad a vineger after taste.

This is a very nice and friendly place. The grounds are rustic and very park like. The wines are excellent with some very interesting and unique flavors. Buy a glass or buy a bottle, you wont be disappointed.

There are no words to describe this wine tasting experience. I visited Mercer House Thanksgiving weekend with my sister and brother in law. Shannon and Kim are fabulous, welcoming and knowledgeable. The wines here are unlike anything Ive EVER tried. I have visited many wineries in a variety of places across the US and can not compare this to anything Ive experienced previously. We tried everything available on the list as well as Shannons surprise samples!!! PLEASE visit this wonderful place and owners. I hope the next time I come to South Carolina from Texas I can visit here again. I liked so many wines I couldnt decide. I chose 2 of my 9 favorites....the coffee and the orange! Thank you both for a wonderful Saturday afternoon tasting the best and most unique wines around! God Bless from the Lone Star State.

Great atmosphere. Owners personality is wonderful. Original wine flavors. We did a tasting. All the bar stools were full and it made a one of a kind experience. I recommend this winery, check it out!

Unkept, closed does not look NOTHING close to wine.

The photos of this winery are deceiving. When I visited I went into a warehouse room behind the Mercer house. I didnt see sprawling vineyards and not much of an outdoor space to sit by. A lot of the wines are very sweet and fruity.

Visited without any preconceptions and or expectations and thats how I would recommend doing the wines at Mercer house. You will likely never find most of the wines made here anywhere else. Some for good reason and others disappointingly. Definitely worth a trip to try something different. Make sure to try the blueberry jalapeño and bloody hell mary. Both were excellent!

Our visits have included everything from multiple wine tastings with engaging stories about each of Shannons creations (always fun), to an impromptu evening with fun folks that make you feel you just attended a well planned surprise party, to being the only people in the building and treated like we were long awaited guests.If you havent been to Winery Mercer House, you need to get there. Off the beaten path.

Jim and I visited for the tour and tasting. Absolutely wonderful time. Shannon was the most caring and wonderful host you could ask for and treated us like family. It was a relaxing and very informative experience and the wines we bought home are great. Will definitely be back for more and refills.

From the very first time we met the Mercers we were treated like family, which is handy as we live close by. When you enter the bar area its like walking into Cheers. Hellos around the room from old friends and also from new soon to be old friends. Fantastic job Kim and Shannon. Also visitors need to check out the floor!

I spotted Shannon pouring wine on a sweaty Saturday at Soda City Market...after a few samples, I selected a Cabernet Sauvignon, though each of his creations were delicious! I plan to visit the Winery and will update my review.

Shannon was amazing! His sense of humor was electric and the wine variety was incomparable. My sister and I drove from Augusta and were very pleased! I would recommend this winery to everyone!

Found this winery on google, so I brought my mother and niece here. We are from NYC and wanted to try a winery. This is a very nice, calming and pleasant place to be. No complaints. Please visit as they value their customer.

While on a road trip, my fiancé and I stopped in at this wonderful winery on a whim. The place wasn’t very busy at 4pm on a Wednesday but that just meant that we got a one-on-one experience with the owner/wine-maker/bartender Shannon. He gave us a wonderful explanation of all the wines we tasted and it was definitely a highlight of South Carolina for us! The next time we come, we’ll be doing a tour of all the vineyards as well. Amazing and delicious unique wine. I say unique because the owner as he explains makes wine like no other winery would ever attempt as his wine is not similar to what everyone is used to in retail. This delicious wine is around limited because he simply cares about quality and not quanity. Thank you for a great time we all enjoyed your wine especially the ancient wine variety.

The Mercer House Winery had a vendor table at the Lexington Wine Walk last weekend. I went with a group of 6 girls and we were all excited to try the Coffee Wine that Mercer House offered. We waited in line for 15 minutes or so...this was the longest line at the event. When we got to the front the man pouring the wine was so rude. I was trying to explain to him that I live right around the corner from the winery and I had heard great things about the Sunday Live Music, wanted to get a group together for a tour, etc. He basically told me to stop talking that he was busy and the line was long. The coffee wine was good, the sip that he poured me, and when I asked for a little more he told me to go to the back of the line. COMPLETE JERK. I have shared my experience with others who were there that day and they were all of similar opinions. If that man was an employee he needs to be fired and if he was the owner I will never patronize his business. I myself am a small business owner as well. I would never treat a client or customer that way.

We orginally scheduled for the tour for my Mothers 65th birthday but mother nature was not having it! Shannon and Kim worked with us and the weather and we quickly changed it to an indoor wine tasting. They explained every wine, what it was made of and what field it came from. They made us feel welcome the entire time. They allowed me to bring in a birthday cake for my mom and Shannon even took pictures for her to remember her special day.This was a wonderful time and everyone in our group fell in love with at least one of the wines. We are planning to do this again!Make sure you ask Kim for one of her wine smoothes....to die for!!!Thanks again guys for making my moms birthday so special!
