First trip here ever. This is a popular place in the Columbia area, part of Congaree Creek. There are numerous trails, heavily traveled, especially in the northern half of the Preserve. There are fewer sights in the lower half. Sandstone bluffs and outcroppings abound. Its a shame the namesake feature of the park fell down in 2013, but its still impressive and the nearby waterfall is beautiful. Little Peachtree Rock is definitely something you want to see while there. Not strenuous, but lots of elevation changes as you walk around.
Nice easy hike/walk. The big rock wasnt much, but the waterfall right nearby was cute. The little PeachTree rock was much better, with interesting features. Make sure you have a map/gps or something, as the trails are not well marked.
Went with the Columbia Outdoor Adventure Network (COAN). This is not a trail for beginners. Use caution. Not much wildlife. Mostly pinecones. Parking is free.
Its great of u love nature and hiking
Great place. Not longer hike and kids friendly. Waterfall is added bonus :)
I wasnt as impressed with this park as I was hoping to be. This was our first trip here (and will probably be our last). The trails werent well maintained (steep steps, washed out areas) or marked. Once you get past Peachtree rock and the waterfall, you really do have to be careful that you dont get lost. This park could use some TLC from a grant or donations.
Nice walking trails and a great creek/waterfall that kids love to play in. The two key points of this trail are the 2 rocks. The far back rock is still slightly perched, or so it seems, about to fall, as the first rock fell a few years back. Sound weird? If youve been there you know what I mean. If not...go find out!! We go here a few times a year, even into fall, just to get out into nature. The back parts of the trail are also like beach sand in some areas. A great way to dig your toes in without being at the beach! Small and sandy parking area could be better. And fyi...its a pokestop!
You would never know that this place existed from the highway. A great place to take friends, or children to see nature. A little waterfall coming from a small rock formation.
Been going here for years. Glad I had a chance to see the peach tree rock while it was upright. This is a nice place to visit from time to time. Nothing extravagant, just a good little hike in the woods with decent views.
Beautiful place to be, shame there is so much trash.
Beautiful place if you like nature. Saw some cool plants and moths
Needs a little more markers and the weather has done a little damage here and there. All in all its a great trail that has the option for a longer or short hike. Highly recommend and the waterfall is also great!
Loved it!! I can see how it would be hard to follow the trails, but during the winter its easy to see. Download a map on your phone on the GPX Viewer if you need help!!
If youre looking for a good hike with the family without a huge crowd this is a good place to go. It is primitive so bring water. No bathrooms.
ITS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.
Clean. Many boards explaining cool facts and features. Pack lots of water!
Beautiful place. Easy to get turned around though. I think the trail signs need to be updated. We followed the sign that said back to parking lot, then once we got to another intersection, the sign said back to parking lot, and was pointing down the way we had just come from lol.
Great outdoor hiking, people should not let there big dogs poop there without picking it up though, thats rude
Beautiful area to hike. Lots of different trails to adventure on.
Theres a feeling when i come here of being in another world. The sand on the ridges in the interior of the preserve is like that of a pristine beach. Immediately I thought was this an ancient coast line?...turns out thats a theory. We chose this location to see the eclipse in 2017 and we got the best views (no clouds and elevated spot near little peach tree).Respect the sandstone and limestone as big peach tree seems to degrade a little more everytime we come back. Teach people to respect wonderful places like this.
Excellent place very good to spend pleasant moments in family.
I live near here and had never been but decided to check it out and Im so glad I did! Great place to visit with your family!
The water fall is pretty small but it is really cool to see all the coral rock 100 miles away from the ocean.
Just a wooded path to a tiny water.fall
There where no bugs! And it was clean
Love the natural setting and fresh air! We love bringing our dogs out here and getting away from everything for awhile. Def recommend for people looking for a nice place to take their dogs, since most parks are not dog friendly here downstate.
Neat natural site, but its well worn, quite a bit of trash, grafitti abounds... You could skip this....
A hiddem gem of a state park, with the only waterfall on the South Carolina coastal plain.
Very beautiful place to visit
It was good but its a LONG WAY to get to the good part of it
Very neat! Just wish the trails were marked a bit better.
Trails, info posts, small waterfall. Overall good experience.
Easy, short trail and very well marked. Worth the walk to see Peachtree rock, even though its not longer upright.
A beautiful place with really nice pine forest and sandy landscapes. The original peachtree rock has fallen but the little peachtree rock is totally worth the visit and for some really nice landscape photography
Beautiful and clean! There is nothing like walking the trails in peachtree, the beauty, the nature, the waterfall and rock formations. Truly a splendid place full of adventure for the outdoors type.
Nice fun walk with great views
Nice. Quiet. Peaceful. Beautiful. Great place to get your cardio. And nice place to take your girlfriend for a picnic, too.
The wife and I along with grandkids and family took a hike through Peachtree rock heritage park
Been coming here for over 25 years beautiful place. Preferred the old parking lot and Trail in but the new one is okay. Erosion of the trail and roots makes it where you need to watch your step
1st time and my children n I enjoyed. I would diff go back.
Nice walking spot to clear your head. Some spots in the trail are difficult to navigate so best to go with a companion.
A relatively short (Less than two mile) hike around a loop that takes you past the small waterfall and what remains of Big Peachtree Rock, and through some wonderfully peaceful pine forest. Not too crowded when we went, either.
This place is the go to spot for some close in hiking and nature diversity. The big rock fell over though.
Fun trip for all ages.
Very open, easy walk. The waterfall is small and quite beautiful, but as many others have stated, there are bottles and trash around. The rock formations are very interesting. The entire trail took about 2 hours at a very leisurely pace.
Great experience here with the Boy Scouts.
Very nice. Very very peaceful and quiet. Grwat place to visit for a picnuc or just to meditate.
Beautiful, easy hike, with clearly defined paths and signage. Cute little waterfall!
We enjoyed the trail and the waterfall. As others have stated, some of the trail signs are not very pronounced making it easy to veer off the path. We used the All Trails map to keep us in check. The waterfall and the surrounding rock features were fun to climb and overlook the area. We will be back!
If your ever visiting Peachtree Rock on a Sunday; stop by the Independent Fellowship of The Living Word Church for an Amazing Experience With Your God. The Holy Spirit is Alive. Praise Jesus!
Great hike. Love the falls.
Exactly as stated, a preserve. There are only two big rocks.
Nice little park. Very interesting rock structures, and trails are varied enough to stay interesting. Maps and markers could use some refreshing though.
It was a nice hike. We got kind of lost trying to get to little peachtree rock. The trails arent marked so great. But we did enjoy ourselves and hope to come back.
I love walking the paths here. The water fall is very relaxing
Beautiful little set of trails. Getting to the waterfall and back is really. If you go out very far though make sure you have time to get lost. Things arent very well marked.
Great place to hike and relax
Great hike with kids, mostly easy to navigate with areas for little adventurers to explore. They likes the small Creek and waterfall especially
Great place to take your fur babies for a hike.
Great place to walk with kids and have a picnic, not stroller friendly
Lots of interesting rock formations, a pretty little waterfall. Trails were easy to follow. I found the most challenging bit was the spur to and from the parking lot.
Unique habitat, with the only waterfall in the Midlands of SC!
Love this trail. Good hike, solid working
Great place for a day hike, but would definitely only visit early in the day.
Good quick hike.
Loved it! Great way to get outdoors. There is an short trail and it is marked good. Great place to take your kids. Would recommend for anyone who likes exploring!
A secret little place.... Didnt even know it was there
One of my very most favorite hiking spots.
Good place to walk, lots of trails, not much trash at all. Great for dogs.
Nice short hike. The waterfall is small bit it is the only one in the area. The rock itself is nice. Lots if cool land features.
Easy little hike with interesting rock formations and the only waterfall in the region. Can spend about 2 hours here. Several trails with a some steps or small inclines.
Great place to walk. Waterfall is tiny but kids really enjoyed it. Only wished people would respect the property & not liter!
Went with my boyfriend and his dog, we had a lot of fun
Very pretty hikeing trails, very pretty landscape. Great for the couple.
Great trail come often during warm weather. Plan to bring my dog this year. First time with him. There are some hidden gems kinda off trail in the center of park. I get great views from there. Always have handheld gps with me. Just in case.
Amazing hiking, and incredible natural features.
GreT place to go for ouples or to meet up with friends Ive been going there since i was a teen a scaled the rock if you walk long enogh you will run into the whith sand where this part os s.c. was once under the atlantic.
I strayed from the beaten path and am writing this while lost somewhere in the wood line. Great place to walk, awesome waterfall.
Decent trails with s ok me pretty good hills. Plenty of deer around, didnt see any turkeys though. Shame someone knocked over the rock....
Great place to find peace, loved the trails and waterfall.
Great place to explore! This is by no means a difficult hike, but the trail can be tricky at times. Definitely bring bug spray, as the flies and mosquitos will find you irresistible the closer you get to the falls. There are a couple of trails to chose from, but the main trail that takes you straight from the parking area to both the falls and Peachtree Rock is less than a quarter mile. Beautiful foliage, and the shade affords a much needed escape from the summer heat.
We have been coming here for years! Great, not strenuous hike, and a little treat at the end with a small little waterfall for the kids
Nice place to hike in the Midlands. The small water fall is very relaxing on a quiet cool day. The rock no longer stands up, it fell over a couple of years ago.
Peachtree rock wow Ive been going there since I was a little kid I remember when I was about 4 my mama took me down there I used to crawl on the little tunnel behind the waterfall and we saw always push on The Rock when we were little and our parents were not looking I still go I love jogging and getting down there climbing up trees and stuff I love the place if you havent been you need to go there now
Perfect hiking spot, easy trail (some stairs) and short enough for young children. Beautiful foilage and natural landscapes.
Loved hiking and enjoyed the sights
Peaceful, beautiful, and secluded place. It was well marked with signs for path. Only disappointment was the trash in water near little waterfall.
I grew up with this park. Sad the rock fell over, but its still one of the more beautiful parks I know in the area.
I love going there and how they were able to save that part of history and nature
Wonderful walks with family
