Quiet. The water. Theres a lot of turtles that call this place home so be ready for your bait to get took from time to time. Theres boating. If you go here a d plan on catching anything my advice is something bloody like chicken livers. Chum your area, cast and enjoy. Perfect place to bring a date if you have a nice country girl or fellow. Very relaxing place.

It was great me and the grand kids went fishing my wife was checking things out with the binoculars. We also ate lunch.

Ive always loved to fish here and there are lots of catfish now due to lack of rain. I caught 2 the other day and one sun perch. Everyone should visit City Lake at least once because I guarantee youll love it! !

It would have been better but it had so much trash laying around everywhere and some sketchy people pulling in and out of the parking area

Its nice to at least be outdoors, but it is a small and dirty park. It scares me that this is a water supply.With a little work, it could be much better.

FYI do not wade in the water. It it filled with leeches. My kids were covered. Sooooo gross. Stay in your boat for heaven sake

I like the park. I grew up on the edge of the other side of the lake so going back here is like going back to my childhood. Its peaceful here. Not a lotta luck with the fishing though, mostly turtles. It gets creepy at night. Im superstitious and I believe they disturbed something when they dug this lake back in the day. Made for an interesting childhood in those woods!They need to unlock the bathrooms for the public though. And yes theres a littering problem. What can I say? People suck. Pick up your garbage!As for other reviews on the smell: its a fishing hole what do you expect lol...For people getting leeches on them, why are you in the water to begin with? This is Davidson countys reservoir not a swimming pool. Good grief

It is a shame people are too lazy to place trash in provided can. Otherwise a very nice lake.

Was very disappointed on the trash that was surrounding the water fall,Someone needs to come clean up the trash.

I love this place. Fished here first 40 years ago. It needs to be cleaned up. But thats anglers fault for leaving beer bottles, trash and fishing line everywhere. I take a small bag of other peoples trash out every time I go. Its not my trash and I know its not much but it makes me feel a little better.

Been going here since I was a baby. This is my neighborhood. Love this park. Go there to read, fish, walk, and play. Grandson celebrates his Birthday here every year.

Me and my family went fishing here and it is a great place to fish. I caught 3 myself. My uncle caught 12 and my mom caught 2. Mostly white perch, small Bass and catfish. Not to mention the damn was great too. Just to sit there and listen to it and Fish by it.

Nice lake for fishing has great potential but seems to be neglected. there was no public restroom when I was there.

Nice free place just a lot of trash everywhere.

Lost a phone there, dont bring your phone unless you want it cracked and lost at sea. I also lost a basketball there too. Not fun.

Need to stock there lake theres no fish there i wasted my money on bait just to catch nothing playground is not a fun place for younger children,no restrooms park need a make over if you ask me.

Peaceful atmosphere.people were fishing or just sitting quietly lost in thought looking at the geese and ducks swimming or walking around. I was surprised and disappointed, however, that the grounds we so dirty: beer cans, trash,on the grounds with plastic and trash floating the water and washed up on the bank.

This has been our lil piece of heaven for almost 2yrs now. We were just there yesterday. Only missing was our friend the odd looking duck who cant quack or anything.

Its alright. Basically its just fishing and picnic tables. I really wish they would have opened the bathrooms by now. Also, you can put in a non gas powered boat. There is fish in this lake.

Panfish haven for sure. Catch all you want because they are everywhere but, watch out for the turtles if they see your bobber they will swim to it and just take that bait for sure.

Kinda nice and quiet. Not well maintained. Bathrooms locked, trails blocked. Garbage cans full.

I have been out twice in the last two weeks with a kayak fishing for bass. I have had a few strikes and have caught a large mouth that was around 3lbs.(released) Very peaceful place to paddle and fish. There is more litter than there should be. I like it because it is free and no gas motors allowed. So no wakes to deal with. Cheap entertainment! I went back today and caught two more large mouth bass. One 3lbs and one over 5lbs. released both
