Went for a field trip. The true stories about the exchange place are very interesting. As well as how well preserved Everything is. The kids attended school in the 1851, wrote their names with chestnut ink & feather pens & made candles. Have also been to funfest there. Its a fun educational trip.

Our first time here.We went to the farm expo, it was wonderful. They had fresh corn on the cob and watermelon. They had lots of kids activities, a hay ride, old style laundry washing, the garden, chickens, goats. We had a great time! I will definitely be going back next year.

Fantastic selection of garden plants, herbs, tomatoes, flowers and everything else you would want for spring time planting. All the vendors were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Nice inviting atmosphere, whether you knew exactly what you were looking for or just getting started gardening, they were more than happy to help. Also some really talented artists and delicious food, they really had something for everyone. I always enjoy the spring fair at exchange place and look forward to it, didnt disappoint. Thanks to all the vendors, awesome job. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in gardening.

A wonderful place that reminds us of colonial life. Also an opportunity for local crafters to share their goods and talents. Minus 1 star for parking. They did have a parking team. But not enough spaces.

Definitely has a setting that depicts the Appalachian people of the 1800s with ladies working the spinning wheel and the Weaver, with instrumentals playing the country music of old.. They had farmers and gardeners who knew their god-given talents very well. I learned a lot and enjoyed it immensely. Ill have to go there again. They always have some kind of event every season

Attended a great garden fair there . The site itself has good reproductions of three-hundred-year-old structures which are worth the visit in themselves

I felt like we were taking a step back in time. The school reminded me of Little House On The Prairie. It was much better than we expected and the children loved it!

Take your family and have fun. Open throughout the year, but they have seasonal festivals. Buildings from the 1800s as it would have been when settlers stopped to exchange horses and currency as well as buy goods on their journey west. Recreations of activities and games, etc. that would have been done/played at that time. Usually have live music and craft/food vendors during festival weekends. Livestock and vegetable garden. Blacksmith and General store. Run by volunteers who are very knowledgable and dedicated. Kids adore going here. Small entrance fee for adults (kids free). Funfest summer festival is free to all.
