Why are there never any exterior lights on at this place? You would think a historic place like this would be well lit so people could see it at night instead of a black hole that it is.Just a thought.Would be 5 stars if not for that.
This is a beautiful place to go to . But we cant go in right now . Cuz of the dam covid-19
I loved walking around the property. Buildings had just closed on my visitation day, but I will go back soon.
Love the information given and the fact the dress up for the time period. Always awesome people and extremely informative.
Had to go for a humanities project for school. So glad I did. Nice little history lesson.
We visited when it was not open. It is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. I do wish they could extend their open hours during the summer. but walking around and reading the signs still was worth the stop.
The people there were rude.
Almost got married here. It’s beautiful year round, especially at Christmas with the tours and decorations. In 2007 or 2008 at Christmas, my mom took a photo of my dad and I sitting on some steps outside of one of the buildings. We got the film printed and there was a ghostly figure sitting next to me on the steps. I have believed in the paranormal ever since.
Loved this place, so much history, and the volunteers are so informative.
A great experience and opportunity to learn about Kingsport! I would advise that you might call ahead to check hours and to see what is open that particular day. When we visited they locked everything up at 4:30 although the hours posted are Saturday and Sunday 2-5. Also, due to coverage issues, only the main house was open - the transportation museum, bank barn, Crockett Cabin, and school house were not ever unlocked - we look forward to going back to visit those areas when they are available. Everything is ran by volunteers and, surprisingly, they have stopped charging for tours...absolutely free.
Very peaceful and beautiful place to visit.
We very much enjoyed the tour of the Inn and Museum!
Great learning experience. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend, call ahead for busiest times.
I will never recommend going to this place. The staff was rude as hell!
Good historical area. Easy to get to.
Well maintained and a small jewel in the history of Kingsport
This is a place to step back in time to experience what it was like living in the 18th & 19th centuries. Some famous people have stayed here..like Daniel Boone to President Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, James K. Polk, etc.
It was a great experience. Love the history and the tour guides.
I absolutely love the Netherland inn! Definitely one of the best places to go if you are a fan of history!
Absolutely a must see of Kingsport history! Volunteers do a great job of telling the history. Tommy does an excellent job of keeping The Inn looking its BEST!
Visit the Inn after 2:00 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday from May through October. The last tour starts at 3:30 p.m. Visit all three floors of the Inn, all exhibits in the Bank Barn Museum, the Boone cabin and the replica of the flat boat, and its all free! Theyd love you to visit the gift shop too.
Its an awesome thing they added for kids
Very interesting place to visit
Great place to learn about East Tennessee history around the early 1800s. Well-done restoration and friendly and knowledgeable docents.
Great place, love seeing the past of Kingsport and a major role this place played in making this town
