Absolutely beautiful! I take a group of relatives here every month until winter. 2 huge playgrounds, majestic art, and nice landscape. Sometimes me and my fiancé run the pavement trail + hike down to the river! I feel bad for those that cant take 100+ steps down the trail to the river and back, its peaceful! Park rangers around daily in the woods & its somewhere I could see myself going alone during park hours
This park has fun age based play areas. There are beautiful marked walking trails. Water to fish or splash in. The nature center is pretty neat as well. My kids, range from 11-6, enjoy this park. There are great areas to picnic and take photos. A lot of people bring their dogs, on leashes. My only negative thoughts are all the trash. Visitors just arent interested in keeping the park clean.
We LOVE Holliday park! They have a lot to offer. We have two young girls and they really enjoy the nature center. There are critters native to Indiana, a bee hive, and fun areas to play in while learning about nature. We usually end up going on a little hike each time we go; the trails are easy for little ones (weve done it since they have been two.. easier since three. There are stairs on some trails). Great view of the river and one spot is perfect for splashing around in your feet. The playgrounds are great! There are three separate areas next to each other, so youll be able to find the perfect fit for your kiddos.Grounds are beautiful. Can you tell I love this park?
Excellent place enjoy with the family
Outside the grounds look amazing. Wasnt open for visitors due to COVID-19. Going to have to check it out when. They reopen to the public.
Really neat park close to the city. I had no idea it would be so pretty and nice trails
Nice place for taking pictures
This park is a hidden gem tucked away in its own little corner of heaven. The ruins are magnificent. They do not cover a huge area but you find yourself lingering, daydreaming amidst the beautiful flowers. The sound of flowing water & birds chirping fills you with a sense of peace. The Nature Center was a delight for children & adults. They have a 2nd floor with a elevator to be used by handicapable individuals which I thought was absolutely wonderful. The playground area is amazing. 3 different playground areas for different age groups. We took our 2 year old & he thoroughly enjoyed playing on the big kids equipment. On the way back to our car we chose to walk thorough the grass & although we saw people walking dogs, never once thought to look down for poo...we were too busy admiring the trees, saying Hi to passerbys, & enjoying our time together. We did not visit the trail portion BUT will be returning to walk them. Literally cannot say enough good things about this park.
Super modern, bright, and colorful. Really well taken care of. Plenty of stuff to do for a solo adventurer, but best I’ll bet when you bring your kiddo along!
They have an awesome hiking trail that leads to a creek with some areas with shores to play in.
Good park close to downtown. Decent amount of parking around park and playground area. Have hiking trails through a valley. Good time to loose yourself near the heart of broad ripple
Love how comfy and informative this little place is, thank you Indy Parks.
Great place to bring younger kids indoors out of the rain! My oldest is 6 and he still finds things to do. There are lots of building toys, books and a water area to play at.
Really great trails excellent park if you like getting lost in the woods
A great nature center in the heart of the city. An especially nice destination on a cold winter day. Opportunity to watch birds from the warmth of an indoor location.
This park has something for all of our family to enjoy! The hiking trails through the rock garden and woods that lead down to the river are beautiful. These trails have a way of making you forget that you are still in the middle of a city!Another part of the park we enjoy is the playground. The playground had three jungle-gyms that are designed with different ages in mind. (We use the toddler playground most often. It has a fence around the outside with only one enter/exit.)
Nice clean park where you can find paw paws and other edible treats. Excellent for a free park. Has a couple of trails that go through it.
Lovely little natural respite from the open plains and urban areas.
One of my favorite parks in Indy! Love the trails and the rest of the park is pretty nice. Havent made it inside the nature center yet.
I love this place. From a quick hike to exploring the river in the middle of the city, this place has it. The educational center is amazing as well.
Fun trails to walk dogs on.
Went there for a kids birthday party and was really impressed with the facility. Looks like the kids would have a ton of fun there
Lot to do here! The nature center is a good place to go when its raining. Trails and even a splash pad to cool off in. The playgrounds are in very good condition, with different areas for different ages! My kids love this place.
This center has a couple of animals in their lobby. I wont spoil what kind but theyre well taken care of and interesting to see. Theres also a childrens interactive playroom, classrooms, a library, and my favorite, a bird watching room. I dont have any experienc to with it myself, but I saw that the classrooms can be rented/reserved for private parties and now that I think about it I passed a kitchenette area as well. I think its lovely that the center does such a great job catering to the interest of all age ranges.
If youre visiting Indy and looking for a free family activity, this is a great choice. The nature centre was fun for my 6, 8 and 11 year olds, and there were lots of younger kids enjoying themselves there too. My son saw a woodpecker up close for the first time in the wildlife observation area. Afterwards we enjoyed the impressive play structures nearby, and the Ruins as well.
Beautiful outdoor park. Perfect place to hang a hammock up and relax.
Very beautiful, especially in the summer! Kids will love the park, and the hiking and history of the park is shocking.
Love love love this park! Has 3 playgrounds for different ages and abilities, has a nature center with great learning opportunities, indoor bathrooms, gorgeous nature trails, and the ruins with the water area and flowers, the gorgeous grounds for pinics....i could spend hours here. Downright magical!
Nice park and excited with the renovations
Beautiful park. The Eagleton to Indianapolis Pawnee.
Great for kids. Hiking trails down to river was perfect distance for a kids hike and a must see is the nature center inside. Bees were active and my kids sat and watched them in the inside hive for an hour!
The best park in Indy! There is shade everywhere and all the equipment is safe and well-maintained. The ruins are a great place to take pictures.
Amazing park! If youre thinking about going here? Just do it! Trails are great, playgrounds are great! The nature center is awesome and a learning experience! Ive never been during winter, but its wonderful in all the other seasons! Go and explore a wonderful Indiana park, you wont regret it! Another neat park is Garfield park on the southern side of Indy. Check it out if you get a chance!
Love this park! My kids are always asking to go back here. Nice hiking trails, three play sets and walking paths. And the kids love The Ruins especially when the water is on and they can play in it. The Nature center is really nice too. This place is very clean and I always feel comfortable with letting my kids just run around here.
This is a great park. I did realize that this park was donated by a family name Holiday, until I was leaving the park. The park is just amazing. I can only image how nice their home was, here on this property. I love this park. This park should be one of the places to visit if you are every here in Indianapolis.
A place more for kids, but it’s nice and has nature pictures on the walls.
Fabulous park and activity center for kids and adults. Great Learning Environment
Really awesome family and pet friendly park! We had a fantastic day there today!!
Nature walk at its finest
Great place to go for a walk by yourself or with your dog. Though it can be busy.
Nice place for a hike, picnic or visit the nature center. Peaceful and well kept park.
My favorite park in Indianapolis. The renovation is completed and looks wonderful. Great upkeep on the grounds and trails. Beautiful scenery, and great place to take pictures, walk trails, meditate or workout.
Ive been going to Holliday Park for years. I love all the stairs and steps: Theyre a great workout. And kids love the water feature of the renovated Ruins.
Definitely the best park Ive been to. Took my 6 year old and had a blast taking a hike, playing at the playground, and checking out the recreation center. Great all day activity.
I attended a writers workshop here with some children. They loved it and so the nature center has to offer.
Neat place, great trails. Love the Ruins.
Perfect public park with multi-age appropriate play areas, walking/running/hiking trails, and picnic areas. The nature center offers diverse programs for all ages.
Ive been going to this park since I was a kid and its a pleasure to bring my daughter to this park and show her some of the cool things that I saw when I was a kid
Views are amazing. The Ruins are breathtaking. And the Nature Center is a blast.
What a great nature center! Super well maintained and informative. Fun for all ages!
Most excellent park. Great playground, trails, and nature center. One day I hope to make it to one of their events.
Spect nature creatures. Remember snakes are afraid of us like we are of them. Just live nature alone. Respect their home. Please dont litter. Its a clean park.
Its great park to walk the dogs A few exhibits to see
Beautiful park, amazing trees and sculptures, and a large playground with areas for small and big kids.
Lots of trails and huge park to play at.
Great place to visit.. Wouldnt know it was there if you werent looking for it... Awesome history behind its beginnings
A wonderful building from an architectural perspective, the nature center is open year round and has meeting rooms, a small quiet library and sitting area for bird watching. There is also a nice area for childrens activities.
Mince good
Great place to go.
Nice park, just kind of small and it wouldnt take that much money or time to fix the 1 or 2 craters in the road
My 4yo son loves this place!
Great city park! I really like the trails behind the Nature Center!
We visited the ruins, the nature center, the playground, and the trails. Kids ages 1 through 11 and they loved it. Spent about 3.5 hours but could have stayed longer if the weather was just a bit warmer.
Not a lot of animal exhibits, but nice little play area to cool down on a hot day. Also they have water bottle refill stations.
Love the trails here. Fun place to visit with kids.
A great park, and wonderful opportunities to learn in the nature center! The owl is adorable!
The playground area is huge and zoned for age. The nature center is clean and informative. The grounds are clean. A lot of good picture opportunities.
So nice nice view all da way
My 2 year old loves coming here to play! Its a great place to blow off some steam when its too cold/rainy to be outdoors exploring the trails and playground.
One of the better local options for trails, always enjoy coming here.
Beautiful trails and playground
Great place. Love the ruins. Trails are ok
Wow we had a blast our first time visiting . But the patrons were definitely leery of our dog because she is a pit bull. So some folks were way overboard with their response like she was going to attack them and it was rude to say the least. Lady is the biggest baby and the kindest pup and we are blessed to have her as apart if our family. Individuals need to cut out thinking that all pits are th re same. Smh apart from that we will definitely be visiting again.
A little gem of a park. Cool shadows in deep ravines.
I had a good time walking around in a daze
Very nice, clean, well-maintained. The entirety of the park is really nice as well. I would definitely recommend going here
I love all the hiking trails and the playground.
Beautiful, quiet and serene outdoor area. The memorial looks very pretty snow covered
Great place to have a great day enjoying nature!
This little secret is a sanctuary for humans as much as for birds. Delightful, quaint library, good for reading and reflecting, or just taking a moment to enjoy the peacefulness of nature.
Lots of trails to explore and interesting story of how the park came to be to find.
Awesome...nice place to hike or walk
Been going to this park since I was a kid! So much to do, so much space, trails, playgrounds, bathrooms, nature center. What more could you want!
Exciting clean, educational
Beautiful nature center.
Kids love it! Low key
The nature hiking trails are amazing. Definitely a must see and do
Small but nice. It includes restrooms and a water fountain.
The nature center is great for kids ti explore and learn. I personally enjoy spending my time at the observation window.
This is a beautiful park. The nature center is free and they have rooms to reserve for small events like birthdays.
Love this park! Very nice nature area great trails. They have something for the whole family.
My kids love this park
Scenic, good trails, kid friendly nature center and park.
