Great room. Friendly service. Location was awesome too. Room was a little warm at first waiting for the air conditioners to kick in. The living room area definitely couldve been cooler but we were comfortable. We enjoyed it tho & will return.
Stayed for a week.Perfect location.Staff was very friendly.Views are fantastic.Cheaper to stay because no resort fees (no pool, spa, gym, etc)Rooms were clean. Bathrooms are nice. All the shopping, most of the eating are with in walking distance.Secure building and underground parking garage.Thank you Castle Waikiki for making my honeymoon wonderful!
We have stayed at the Castle Waikiki Shore several times before and often return because it is the only condo on the beach in Waikiki. The suite we stayed at was spacious with two bedrooms, two baths, livingroom and full kitchen, with a balcony view that was fabulous! The unit also has a washer and dryer, and flat screen TVs in each room! The staff was very helpful. And we found it most convenient to come and go through the Outrigger Reef next door. We will be back!
Good building in a convenient location. Its located a couple of blocks off the main street and right on the beach. There is direct access to the beach from thr building, and there is a shower right next to the gate. Key fobs are required to access the building, which is nice and safe. The building is older, but our unit (room 418) was very recently remodeled with beautiful finishes and high end appliances. We had a corner unit that faced the adjacent park and a street. The street was very noisy, so I had to use ear plugs as I am a light sleeper. All in all, I would definitely stay here again.
Great location and easy to find with amenities nearby. The building is older and IS a condominium setting, there isnt a general pool or nightly entertainment. The staff is nice and was amazing to be right on Waikiki. If you are staying over the weekend you will be able to see the fireworks from the Hilton on your balcony. Ryan was pretty cool at the front desk as well.
We stayed in unit 504 from 6/26-28, facilities was nice and clean staff super friendly and helpful. we expected new furniture since unit was recently remolded or so we thought. The OLD 1970s bamboo furniture was old and missing paint. The Queen size bed also old spring coiled mattress supper bounce my back is killing me now. No comfortable place to sit no comfy chairs to relax in so sad. The owners should be very embarrassed to rent this place...Looks like they just threw what was every in the garage or garage sell into the until.. Paid way to much for bad uncomfortable bed and seating in unit.
Stayed here as a family of 4 adults for 10 days.Lets start with the negatives: We had a couple of black marks on the walls and the aircon in the small bedroom stank after a few days of stagnant water but this was reported and the issue resolved. We had another party of 2 who were in a separate apartment which was booked as a twin room but was configured for a double bed, and their toilet leaked. Again, reported and resolved but it took a couple of days to sort the bed issue out. The shower pressure was a little weak/soft for me but the bathroom had no other issues. Now onto the good! The hotel is a few minutes walk from everything you need. The main road with all the shops is a nice casual walk; there is an ABCs 3 minutes away for your groceries, and the beach is right there with a bar, if you like. The water is always warm, whether you wake up for the sunrise or stay out for the sunset, which I recommend. Seeing the sun rise behind Diamond Head Peak is stunning and I didnt realise the sky could show so many colours during sunset. Speaking of sunsets, the view from our balcony for sunsets was AMAZING!If you wish to pay for swimming with Sea Turtles experience, which isnt guaranteed, save your money and go to the beach around 5pm.I gave it 4/5 because of a couple of issues but overall, the apartment was what you expect
We stayed on 13th floor. Had the best views ever. Great for happy hour on the balcony and the perfect spot to see fireworks on Friday night .Bed was very comfortable. Great fridge to keep food and drinks cold and freezer for ice cubes.... Hello happy hour! Beach as you walked out..... it was incredible.
Our family stayed here in 2 rooms, we had a one bedroom apartment on the Penthouse floor, and the others were on the 8th floor, in a 2 bedroom apartment. Loved the service, views, amenities. Our Penthouse unit was newly decorated, and our son slept on a fold out sofa bed. Worked well, there was a fold out door to give a little more privacy. The 2 bedroom unit worked well, as the 2 grandchildren had their own room. Was a little expensive, would like to have stayed longer but too costly. Right on the beach and in a nice quieter neighbourhood yet minutes from all the major hotels and shops.
The location and view from room was lovely. The room was spacious and well equipped with full kitchen, washing machine and dryer. The Expedia listing was wrong. It said Free parking and swimming pool. The property does not have these facilities. There is no pool. I was told parking at the property would cost me US$45 a day. I spent a lot of time emailing and phoning Expedia and Love Rentals (the agent in US that owned the listing) trying to sort this out. Love Rentals were very unhelpful and unwilling to admit any responsibility for the muck up. I would not have booked this property if I new it didnt have a pool and free parking as both were essential to me.
This is my 14th time staying at the Castle Waikiki Shore and I cannot recommend it highly enough if you are visiting Hawaii. The apartments are all individually furnished, with every modern convenience included such as a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. The apartments are extremely spacious with stunning views of the ocean from fully furnished lanais. To me it is my happy place and my home away from home. Thoroughly recommend staying here.
Property is on the beach, very convrnient location, suites with beautiful views of ocean and park. Loved that property is fully smoke free. Hated that guests still smoke on balconies during night .
LOCATION WAS OUTSTANDING.. CLOSE TO ALL THINGS. BEACH,EATS. DRINKS AND FUN..
Good parking close to beach nice rooms friendly people and staff
The price point per night for how close we were to the beach and restaurants was awesome. Condo was facing the park but still had a peak a boo view of the beach. The cleaning fee was a bit hefty but since others charge resort fees, it’s still a good deal. Parking onsite is available for $35/nt. Full kitchen and toiletries. They provide beach towel check out. Only feedback i would have for hotel is that trash pickup should be after 11a but they pick up at 830a. Would stay again because of location on the less busy side of Waikiki.
We had a Penthouse 1 bedroom, and we were upgraded to a room with kitchenette. Nicely decorated, great facilities. Wonderful views and sunsets.
Property was good., very friendly people . The place is like 5 star, only the communication with Expedia was not so good because it took us like 1-1/2 hour to check in, that was very bad I hope you Csn improve on that. Thank you. Mohini
Amazing hotel! Awesome location right on the beach and near local shops and restaurants. Amazing rooms - kitchenette, huge bathroom, washer/dryer in the room. Friendly front desk agents. Overall loving our stay.
We recently stayed here as a family and despite the good location, would not stay again. The 1 bedroom that we rented said it was for 4 people, but it was very tiny and not big enough for 4. It was a pretty outdated room and not that clean upon arrival. I primarily booked here because it had a kitchen and I was planning on cooking breakfasts and the odd dinner here but it turned out that it wasnt a functional kitchen - it had one saucepan with a broken handle and one warped fry pan. This was very disappointing. The front desk people were friendly but overall I wouldnt stay again and dont recommend.
One of the best locations on Waikiki, great views, rooms spacious with good kitchen amenities and laundry facility. Staff very friendly and helpful
Love this place. Not a resort so has no pool or gym but also has no resort fees. A condo on the beach in Waikiki area with unobstructed views - priceless!
We are staying in this property with Outrigger who are wonderful .Condos are all well fitted out .
Big condominium
Best quality you can get with the same price in this area. Ocean view is amazing. Although it seems that rules are more than others, we wont break them anyway. Highly recommend it.
The 1 bedroom condo was very comfortable and roomier than the 2 us needed. Full kitchen would be great for a family that cooks lots of meals. Bathroom was large AND included a washer/ dryer! Balcony space and view was outstanding. Even a Park View unit would offered a partial ocean view. A few studios only faced the city and mountains but surely cost less. We want to return!
Room itself was great, as was service. Location was fairly central to dining and activities. Beach itself was disappointing: jagged coral bottom, gritty coarse sand/gravel mix, steep gradient, and no real surf.
Friendly and efficient. A pleasure to stay here.
Perfect location and room are here.
The positives: Great location on Waikiki beach. Good take-away food places at ground level by the beach - really enjoyed the Steak Shack. No daily room service to annoy you. In room washer and dryer. Friendly and helpful reception people especially Rochelle. Great views from your room/balcony.The negatives: Our room lacked comfortable furniture. Our chairs were like outdoor type aluminium and you couldnt relax in comfort. The bed was too high to get in to, especially for elderly. Too much light entering the room at night made it difficult to sleep. More noise in room when you would prefer some quiet.Bottom line: Would stay again if some of the issues such as bed and furniture were improved. We were in room 314.
I stayed for five nights in June 2919. It was perfect for iur stay. Very comfortable unit, and the contact that meet us was great to get our vacation to a smooth start. We were on the second floor with a wonderful view of Fort Derussey Park. The balcony/lanai was large and peaceful. The building is right at the beach and plenty of activity at a close distance.
Excellent location. Lots to do. Love the option to eat in as opposed to eating out for every meal
Wow, this place is a joke. Im on their website to book a room for vacation and their extra fees are outrageous. Room is $300/night + $30 reservation fee + $200 cleaning fee + room tax + excise tax + TA tax! They arent even a high end hotel per the photos and reviews. Ill take my business elsewhere.
Reading the reviews for this property I can see its popular, but there is so much light pouring out of this building all night long, it completely ruined our honeymoon next door. We couldnt sleep for four nights. If people knew how much this disrupted the breeding cycles of the turtles they are hoping to swim with, I wonder if they would still think the hotel was that great..
Excellent location. Amenities including full kitchen and washer/dryer was great!
We stayed there for 9 nights and 10 days. We had rooms 210 and 212. Rooms are out dated. Walls and couches in both rooms are dirty. The beds are so uncomfortable, every time we turned over it made a loud squeaky sound. We were told that in one room we would have a queen bed and the other room a king bed. We’ll both rooms were queen size old cheap beds. The trash cans are really small doesn’t hold much trash. You have to ask for clean towels, more toilet paper and paper towels daily as they will not give it to you if you don’t ask. Ac leaks. There are roaches in the rooms and we also saw some around the elevator area. We were so disgusted. Called down to complain and talked to the manager he claimed led that no one ever complained about the roaches before. That is obviously a lie. There are 2 elevators and one is always not working. They allow people to check in really late at night 12,1,2,3,4,5am or when ever you arrive at what ever hour. I mean it’s a plus for those who are checking in super late but for those who are already there asleep it sucks. The people checking in would roll their luggage or cart and make so much noise waking up the whole floor or multiple floors. The first night this happen I got woken up and thought someone was running down the hall with a stick hitting the rails. That’s how loud it is. The washer is room 210 made so much noise. It sounded like it was going to explode every time it’s on spin even tho I made sure the clothes are all balanced. Washer and dryer broke in room 212. Only Luke warm water in room 210 there were a few times where we didn’t have hot water at all. When we called down to inform them they said they are having water problem. They didn’t know how to fix it. They sent their maintenance guy up and he told us if there’s no hot water there is nothing he can do.The place is called castle Waikiki resort. Just the name itself makes it sound so high class, nice, fancy and upscale. Well let me tell you it’s not. It’s the complete opposite. For the amount we paid we could’ve rented an Airbnb. Not worth the price and definitely not worth you risking bringing roaches home.
Fabulous place to stay. Amazing views
Location is great and the view from our condo was wonderful. I’ve stayed here many times and I’m never disappointed.
I’d say five stars for the location and incredible view, four stars for space and comfort, and only two stars for cleanliness. There were roach droppings in the utensil drawer. We cleaned it out. There were roaches in the trash cabinet (expected I suppose). There were roaches in the bathroom. At least 2-3 scurrying around each night of the first week of our stay. Tiny roaches, but gross nonetheless. The unit should at least be equipped with spray or SOMETHING because late at night when you go to the bathroom, you can spot these little surprises running around.
Awesome service, fun location.
Had the best room PH06, great views, comfy bed, location was terrific. Staff were wonderful, Rochelle was very helpful. Fairly quiet compared to other side of Waikiki
Nice clean condos right on the beach loved having a washing machine and dryer, staff very nice. But if you’re looking for luxury this was not it, you have to walk through a walkway to the hotel next-door to get to paradise. In the heart of it all close to everything.
Had an amazing experience staying at Castle Waikiki Shore. The apartment had everything we needed and is in the best location (cant beat waterfront views!). Ryan who worked at the front desk was extremely helpful and accommodating during and after our stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Awesome location and views. The only private property directly on Waikiki Beach. And its next to Ft Derussy beach park and Waikiki Beachwalk to boot. Liberal remodel and unit management options. There will always only be one Waikiki Shore. Nothing else comes close anywhere in the world. Just think about it.
Overall vacation was great spending time with my youngest daughter was the greatest. Hotel does need some improvement. Bathroom needs some upgrade in the shower stall. No shower floor mat, no handicap bars. Floors were very dirty. Wear flip flops or slipper. They need to mop this floors. So based on our location it was little noisy at night. Great fireworks show at the other property. No swimming pool here, and you are not allowed to go to Outrigger to use there pool. Overall Hawaii is very beautiful staff is friendly, Concierge Steve Y was great he help us a lot with booking a Luau, sightseeing. He was very helpful he deserve a pat in the back for what he does.
Very nice setting and had a fun time
Close to everything at Waikiki and saw fireworks shot from the Hilton while out on the Lanai, even had clothes washer and dryer. The bed was way comfortable. Missed one day of maid service but the desk had fresh towels, everything was cool. Great stay
The property is very well situated regarding beach, restaurants and shops.
Loved it! Great staff and got a prime spot to watch the fireworks on Friday nights right from the balcony. Great place to stay. Beautiful view.
Well located and with comfortable beds and furnishings. Last stayed here 28 years prior so was a little nervous as to how it wold be now...very pleased as nothing much had changed. Building is well maintained, good access, and great views. A nice quiet hotel with views and the ability to self cater (kitchen) was the icing on the cake. No hesitation in recommending to others.
Steak shake is just down stairs,,other great hamburger too,,they have the awesome hale beach boys, great place to learn to surf,,, amazing oceanfront views
The 1 brm unit was newly renovated. These units are all owned by different owners, so it really depends on which unit you get. Ours was beautiful with a wonderful full view of the ocean from the sixth floor. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bedroom had a king bed and leather pull out sofa. We never heard any construction noise from the unit. The washer/dryer was great. We would stay there again in the near future and have recommended it to all our friends.
Great vacation spot. Great location. Beach front condo. Clean, well maintained. Friendly service staff.
Condo was perfect. Location was great, the rooms were super nice and our view was amazing. It was in the perfect spot for most anything. Front desk man couldnt have been any more helpful. Our view was just brethtaking. Beach out front wasnt the best for swimming, very rocky, but just take a short stroll down a bit and it gets much better. Would and will definitely stay here again!
Need new beds in 210 and 205 Excellent beds in 406 Otherwise very good rooms
Loved our room and the location was good but the facilities are just so so. Front desk didnt communicate well about the garbage and housekeeping process. Parking is $30/night and theres a cleaning fee. Only 2 elevators for the whole building. No pool or restaurant. Beach right outside the building is too steep and rocky and theres just a small area of sand. Walk down toward the Hilton for a much better area.
We arrived on a Friday September 14 only problem GPS told us to turn wrong way but we figured it out. Didnt know extra fees was going to hit us up at check in ($400) need to be included in price. When we was checking in my husband ask the clerk on duty (Rochelle) was that the ocean view room because thats what we paid for and it a good room. She never answered him he asked 3 times no answer. The room (615)was Parkview not ocean but that wasnt the real issue, that night I was bout to shower and I noticed several baby roaches!!!! I told my husband we got up the next morning got some roach killer just thinking thats it!!!! We sprayed and left for the day just to come back to more and bigger roaches!!!! I took pictures of them coming out of cabinet in kitchen and bathroom, so we went down to the office and reported it the clerk on duty that night (Ryan) was super helpful he let us look at another room to see if was ok which was exactly what We Paid for in the first place. He immediately got us moved and situated that night. So thankful to Ryan made everything right. The location was good in walking distance to restuarant and shopping, beach was nice other then that issue with the roaches would stay there again.Because Ryan immediately made things RIGHT!!!!
A wonderful place to stay, staff are very friendly and helpful, have been recommending to others
Shower needs upgrading. Television went off in the middle of movie.
Lovely beach front hotel. Large rooms available for big families. Great area for shopping and site seeing!
Condo on the beach without the high cost. Perfect location, clean condo with beach views or city views. Its best to try getting a room above the 5th floor for ocean scenery. Booked thorough Outrigger for room of choice. With Castle Shore its first come first serve. You will be working through a Outrigger location a block away but well worth the extra pains for a view like this. Had to get password from router for WIFI.Second trip to Walkiki and both timed used Castle Shores No regrets an dwill definitely use next time as well
One word, underrated. Booked the ocean front, expected central air for the price tag, got 3 window units, if you ran all 3 at the same time, it blew a fuse, so we could only use 2. I spoke to the Maint. Staff sent to fix the breaker and he said that this is always an issue with the unit. Talked to the front desk staff and manager who offered us a discount of about 20%, we were kind of stuck since I already laid out a deposit and booked the reservation back in Feb, for an Oct stay. I had to wait in line to complain since I was not the only one who had a issue with the accommodations. We never could open the blinds to see the beach because the room would heat up like a oven, and it would take several hours to cool it down again. The bedroom on the balcony was neat, but it did not have air conditioning, so you were left to open the windows, which was comfortable, until they cleaned the beach at 4 A.M. every morning. Waking up to Rumble Rumble, Beep Beep for about 30 minutes, every morning, was perfect for my relaxing quite Hawaiian vacation.Needless to say these units are old, and due some refurbishing. As in other reviews construction will be going on behind the unit so expect traffic getting to and from the building. Not to mention the pole you have squeeze into in order to park. Dont expect the SUV you rent to fit into these parking spaces, our minivan barely made it. The maids came daily, but did not speak any English.
Rooms smelled a bit of cleaner and overnight parking is 35bucks. Thats the only drawback. Location is insane. Its right on the beach and the view from the top is gorgeous
I would definitely live here or stay for a long while, but as far as romantic getaway, I would stay further down the strip. BEACHThe beach out front was rockier than other parts of the beach, and had rental peddlers dominating the best spots. It was also close to the pier where the boats came in, so there would occassionally be floods of tourists invading the beach.LOCATIONThe walk from the hotel to the International Marketplace is a bit of a trek, but it is close to Wailana Restraurant and Cocktail Lounge which is a great place for breakfast (try thier coconut pancakes) and late night karaoke. We slept with the lanai door open, so there was a lot of street noise that woke us up every morning (imagine garbage trucks and beach combing tractors).ACCOMODATIONI didnt know from reading the online reviews of this place that its a condominium with owners renting out their flats. It would be great for a long vacation where you need things like a kitchen and a washer and dryer, but we were looking for a romantic getaway and this was a little too practical for our taste.STAFFThe staff was super friendly, and we really loved the front desk guy
Castle Waikiki Shore is ideally located on the beach and close to all the night spots. It is a condo hotel so doesnt have the same amenities as a big hotel.Nonetheless we were able to use the pool at the adjoining Outrigger hotel when needed as an alternative to the beach.Facilities in our room a little outdated but fine. View spectacular.
The negatives of the Castle Waikiki Shore are numerous. First, we booked a one-bedroom, only to find out that unless you book a two-bedroom, there really isnt a separate bedroom. Even the two bedroom only has one separate bedroom. Rather, there is a partially enclosed area in each condo that has a partition divider so it can be closed off from the rest of the condominium (and thus is considered a bedroom). Thus, if you want privacy, it is somewhat lacking. In some of the other condominiums we have booked over the years, such arrangements are considered studio condominiums. Second, there is no pool, and if booked through Castle, no access to a pool at any other hotel. Our room was clean, but is getting somewhat dated in appearance. Our condominium had basic kitchen items, which did not extend beyond the minimal needs (small coffee cups, no mugs, etc.). It would have been nice if the management could provide a few more small essentials, such as coffee filters. There are minimal maid service. Our supposed towel change consisted of them dumping off a new load of towels, without picking up any of the old.Hotel provided beach towels for swimming, but such towels werent in the best shape. The hotels security requires both separate card keys to get into the room and fobs to access entrance to the property and the elevators, with significant costs if you lose a fob. It would be nice if the keys could be updated to a single card key so you dont need to keep track of the fobs.On the plus side, aside from the misleading bedroom, the condominiums are generally spacious. It has a good location, next to the new Trump hotel, Fort DeRussy, and the Outrigger Reef. views from the condominium generally look out toward Fort DeRussy and the beaches by the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It is a short walk to the main shopping area and numerous restaurants.
Older but really functional and soy well located
Our condo was great. Loved that it was right on the beach. We were booked for deluxe ocean view and thats what we got. It was a beautiful view. Liked the fact that the mirror on the lanai wall provided the same view. Appreciated the security and the washer/dryer. On previous trip we stayed at the Outrigger Reef but prefer the condo and would stay again. It was close to great dining and shopping. We booked our activities with the condo concierge and were satisfied with the results. Our room was clean and the staff and at the front desk friendly and helpful. In all, it was a great stay.
Great location, the security key thing was a bit weird but overall a good experience.
The location is great facing the sea and park. We stayed in a ocean view studio for one week. The staffs were friendly there. The only unpleasant experience was that we were unaware of a mandatory $75 cleaning fee until at check out time. We did not find this fee explicitly stated in our reservation receipt.
Not as expected. Not a beach view and much smaller than photos. Bedroom windows wont close tight so you could hear all the noise at night. Nice to have a washer and dryer but for the price I could have gotten a better room elsewhere.
Good view
Perfect place for a stay in Hawaii! We have a studio unit with a kitchen and laundry and its been great! Still convenient to everything and the view is phenomenal! We will be staying here next time we come to Hawaii.
Good condos with great views and access to pool next door
It was OK. Not exactly a nice Beach view. But it has some really sweet amenities. But it has a surprise cleaning fee.
Penthouse with spectacular beach view and Diamond Head at the other end of Waikiki.
Great but no parking
Castle Waikiki Shores was awesome. Right on the water best location in Waikiki!
Great customer service. Hotel is next to the park and right on the beach. Good location and walking distance to most of the attractions. I highly recommend this hotel.
The room had full kitchen and washer/dryer. The point of getting a condo is to be on your own and when we needed service it was friendly and helpful! The room was clean and well maintained. Waikiki area is very crowded and congested and there is not much that can be done about that. It seems like they are working in different areas of the hotel to update it, but none of the construction that they were doing was disruptive. Overall, excellent experience and will probably stay there again the next time I am in Hawaii.
We loved it! Not a lot of activities at this condo but we spent most of our time at other resorts. Outrigger which was next door was under construction and probably will be for the next 6 months. Donald Trumps building was sprouting nicely! Which is right behind Castle and Outrigger. Cant wait to go back to Hawaii next year. Our room was always clean and maid service was prompt each day. Safe in room was secured by 1 key! View was beautiful. So much to do in Hawaii.
Great View, Great location, rooms are good, just a little dated
Nice hotel with great great location and amazing views!
Clean, friendly and helpful staff, value for money and top location.
It was very nice, the view was very nice by the ocean.
Good place to stay on west waikiki beach. Stayed for two days. It was a good time.
Very nice condo. View of Wakkiki beach. Only downside is there is no pool and one of elevator was down for 4 days.
Dont let them put you on the second floor. Rooms are totally outdated and disgustingly unclean. Also had bites on my legs last two days of weeklong trip so I think room had BEDBUGS! Great location but thats about all this place has going for it...
Nice location. Older Roos that had washer and dryer. All rooms had balconies.
Great location and room
Nice
I like it, except the hidden charges of cleaning fee!
Awesome
