Ive been a tenant here for almost 2 years and the wifi here is almost nonexistent!!! There have been lots of days where I couldnt work from home due to their weak wifi. The A/C does not work properly. It is never at the temperature you set it at. As for the pool, it is rarely maintained that I would not allow my kids to go in it. Also, they do not have a good system for coming in and out of the parking structure even for people who live in the building. You will have to take a parking ticket every single time you come into the parking so I probably now have collected over hundreds of wasted printed tickets for absolutely no use. Then when you get out, youll also have to show your parking slip (given to you by the landlord) to the gatekeeper each time. I wish they would make a special keycard for tenants to come in and out more easily. The only thing that keeps me from moving out of here at the moment is due to Covid. I would not recommend long term rentals here.

Our family of 5 stayed 4 nights here. The facility itself is okay, nothing impressive, a little bit run-down, but the rooms were clean. Upon arrival, we didnt feel welcomed at all by the front desk staff. It didnt seem they care. no smile or the Aloha we expected. oh well, assume they were just tired of dealing with tourists... PARKING! WHAT A HEADACHE! We rented a Chevrolet Tahoe which is a little over 6 tall. If you rent a big car like ours, please do yourself a favor and dont stay at this hotel. The garage, which is a public garage attached to the hotel, only have 12 tiny spots for huge cars over 6 on the first floor. The spots were SO tight, we couldnt get out of the car on the drivers side even if everyone got out of the car before we parked. It was super frustrating to see the spot between two other gigantic cars and simply cant fit in, at MIDNIGHT, after an exhausting day! and it was not cheap, $25 a day. So add those to the cost of your overall booking. I know this garage is not run by the hotel. But it really ruined our experience and added a level of anxiety to our vacation. On top of that, the staff at this garage was super rude. My only compliment to this hotel is their housekeeping staff who are very friendly. They provided us beach towels and actually say Aloha to us in the elevators and corridor.

Great location. Good amenities. Staff was very nice and attempted to accommodate, but the property is just a bit tired. We booked a one bedroom suite with dual twins and sleeper sofa for three adults and the sofa was completely unacceptable. They are aware these are dated/broke, and literally swapped the whole sofa out to a minimally better unit. That and just a few little things (like the lack of window insulation that allowed for a wind howl throughout the night) took the shine off what could have been a more satisfying stay.

It was ok at best, property was very clean, kitchen was well stocked with kitchen ware. Disappointing parts were there was no hot tub for the kids, no tennis courts and the pool was in the shade almost all day this time of year 1/30-2/7. Also if you have a rental car good luck on trying to find a parking lot. So plan on paying $25 a day extra to park your vehicle. The Banyan next door is a better option for kids.

Stayed here 4 nights with my family last week and had an awesome time. Loved our room! So spacious, complete with everything from kitchen stuff to bathroom items. We booked 1 room for 5 of us. Its like having a condo unit of our own but a big one! The room assigned to us had two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining table, a spacious living room, and an awesome view of the spectacular diamond head. The only thing I didnt like is that they dont have a restaurant. You have to go out to eat. But they do have a mart on the 5th floor but not open 24 hrs. Theres an ABC Store open 24 hrs not too far from the bldg so you can go there to buy food anytime somehow. Nonetheless, the location is right in the heart of Waikiki and a few distance away from Waikiki Beach so I still give it a 5 stars. This is my 2nd tour of the island and Im glad to find a home away from home at Aston Waikiki Sunset. Thanks to all the super friendly staff at the hotel. Will definitely recommend to all my friends, or better yet, Ill be back if I get the chance. :)

Overall everything was satisfactory. Staff were very polite and engaging. Housekeeping did miss one day of taking care of our room. I would say the 2 biggest issues were parking and resort fee. We paid $400 for the week between those 2 things and the garage for parking is attached to hotel. There is street parking if youre lucky enough to find a space. Nobody ever moves thats the issue with the parking. In closing with this review we hsd a great time except for the parking. If someway combine costs with the fees that get charged. That would be only thing would say was a downside.

Family from around the world were meeting up in Honolulu. We wanted suites with kitchens so that we wouldnt have to eat out at every meal. The kitchens were reasonably appointed and they have BBQs available as well. Our bathroom and bed were clean but the kitchen floor was not very clean and that was true of the other rooms for other family members. While the rooms look fairly fresh, the hallway and reception area are tired looking.Other reviews complained of bugs but I didnt see any in any of the rooms that I was in.The hotel is located a very short walk to the beach and Waikiki shopping. This is for the parking garage, not the hotel. I came in at 2:30 am to park while eating at MAC, no one was there and both gates were open. I parked, went to eat, then came back to my car. When I got to the exit gate I explained I had no ticket because I was not given one. I told them when I parked and was more than happy to pay for the time I was there, but they refused and demanded I pay the $50 lost ticket rate. I refused, because thats absolutely ridiculous, how could I lose a ticket I was never given? They said I couldnt leave and made me go park by the elevator. I tried calling ProPark to explain the situation but no one answered. After about 20 minutes they finally let me leave with no explanation and no apology. Absolutely appalling experience.

This hotel is like a condo style high rise apartment. One private king size bedroom with balcony, a living room with a full size pullout sofa bed, a kitchen with mid size refrigerator, full size stove and oven, has a microwave, dining table plus all the normal stuffs you see in a hotel room. Bathtub style bathroom, very roomy. The room is nice and clean but doesnt smell fresh, missing air freshener. Room good for couple with 2 small kids on the sofa bed. Basically you are renting a 1 bedroom condo. Didnt like the noisy AC, 32in TV. Parking fee plus daily facilities fee: includes DVDs rental, daily coffees/tea. I had an odd number room, East facing overlooking the pool and mountains. During the winter, beautiful Rainbows most days. West facing (even number) rooms have a beautiful view of Diamond Head to the South and limited views of the ocean and sunsets. The grilling area was our favorite spot to gather in the evening. Fantastic hotel, very family friendly, helpful staff that are lovely, great facilities (two bedroom suite with living and kitchen fit our family perfectly), great location - walking distance to beaches, zoo and other amenities. If you are desperate for an espresso (hey, we are Aussies after all), there is a Starbucks in the Marriott lobby less than 5min walk away.A few mild annoyances (eg batteries in both TV remotes empty, kitchen missing a few essentials like cleaning supplies, extremely limited choice of dvd/PlayStation game rental etc) but Staff were happy to help and otherwise great place to stay! There is a general store on the 5th floor - two out of the three staff we encountered were grumpy and unhelpful. They also advertise they are open until 10PM but actually close 9:30. That said, decent selection of stuff and prices aren’t too bad considering.100% recommend if you have kids and are looking for a place to stay in Waikiki!

Overall, this is an affordable, family-friendly hotel in Waikiki -- but proceed with caution.PROS: Great views, nice-sized suites, well-appointed kitchens, comfortable beds, decent pool, convenience store plus laundry machines on-site, easy walk to the beach and restaurants and shopping, friendly staff.CONS: Very, very dated. The hotel experienced recent water damage and they were still drying things out and removing mold (though not on our floor, thankfully). The parking situation is very confusing but because its not an official hotel garage, the staff couldnt answer any questions about it. They also changed out the washers and dryers in the middle of our stay, but didnt have any information about the new payment app; they also wouldnt let us make sufficient change so we were SOL for laundry. Finally, we were staying there with other family members and two different groups had items stolen from their rooms.Im grateful we found affordable suites in downtown Waikiki but I would not stay here again.

Stay away from this hotel unless every other one on the island is booked full. All it has going for it is a roof over your head for the night. We arrived and the first room they put us in wraped behind the elevators. The door was just to the left of them, and the room went back and behind the entire row of 4. You can enjoy hearing them and the people they carry talking as they go up and down all night. After we saw that and asked for another room, it took an entire hour for them to move us in the computer system. The elevators are old and malfunctioning, often skipping floors, creaking, being serviced or stopping between floors. The second room we received had twin beds instead of a queen, apparently they book queens and twins in the same group and its a 50/50 shot on what you get. Both rooms cleanliness could be massively improved. They have an obviously fake flower sitting on the bathrooms counter thats covered in dust. The showers were stained and the showerheads were caked in calcium deposits and black gunk. The floorboards look like theyve never been cleaned, and the pans in the kitchenette were greasy. The hallways outside the rooms looked like theyve been banged and unpainted for decades, with peeling and chipping paint, and faded, heavily scratched doorways. On top of all this they charge you multiple convenience fees over your reservation. A $25 mandatory amniety fee which they say covers the coffee in the room, hotel internet (both of these last two are always free at any other hotel), and two DVD rentals a day. They also charge $20 for parking, and you need to rent any sports gear from them to use their tennis courts. They also charge $20 per day to use in the room safe.Overall a terrible place to spend any time on the island. We had to find another hotel to stay at since this one nickle and dimes you for extremely poor service. I could not recommend this hotel to anyone.
