Beautiful beach! nice and clean and open

I cant say enough on how much fun we had staying here. We traveled to Florida to ride our Harley and happen to find this place on the internet. We needed a place that we could park our truck and trailer, and they were more then willing to help. Its got an old Florida feel! You get a full kitchen, living room, and bedroom cheeper then a hotel! Also we found a ton of beautiful seashells here! We have more fun finding shells here then Sanibel Island! Definitely worth 5 stars!

The location of this resort was perfect! You literally walk out your door and you are on the beach sand and in the water. The managers, Carla and Curly, outdid themselves to make sure we had an enjoyable time at Wild Wave Resort from keeping up with fresh towels, bedding, cutting a fresh coconut for us to sample, toys and beach gear to enjoy the sun and sand and a candy cane and special gift for the kids on Christmas morning!It is with great regret to post that Carla and Curly deserve better tools to make the environment a top rating. I hope the owner, Terry, can purchase brand new bedding, washers and dryers, paint and effective cleaners to update the rooms. This resort does not need to be torn down just to make another multi-million place to blend it with the other glamorous, boring houses. Use your money to get new beds and bedding, update the kitchens and bathrooms, purchase the needed wash machine and dryer so laundry can be done effectively, get rid of the mildew by having effective cleaning tools - I can go on but I know Terry knows what needs to be done. We plan to return if these things can be completed. We love Fort Myers Beach and have been coming for the past 3 years. This was our first time at Wild Wave and it was not the resort that we enjoyed but Carla and Curly.

While not exactly modern or chic, the Wild Wave is my favorite beach destination. Jack and Sharron cater to your experience. Gather at the BYOB bar to share appetisers, or do your own thing. Right on the beach, and great views of the Gulf from almost every room. It just doesnt get better!

Right on the beach, beds and living spaces are cute and comfortable. The managers are sociable and enjoyable. I highly recommend this place, I have been staying here frequently for the last 17 years.

Love the location but the resort its self needs to be updated and cleaned! My sheets werent clean and I asked for new ones and those smelt wores then the first set!

Updated review: Warning: We got sick there when we stayed for 3 days in May 2019 - probably due to mold/mildew in Unit #11. We notified the owner of the property in writing and have not had any response. When we arrived, my husband started sneezing. We thought it might be something blooming nearby. The next day we both had no energy and had sinus headaches. The third day we woke up with migraines and were really lethargic all day. We decided to check out (2 days early) and stay somewhere else. Within 6 hours all our symptoms disappeared and we both felt fine! Thats when we realized it must have been something in that unit. We have stayed in that unit before and never had any problems - weve been going to Wild Wave for years. Wild Wave was sold late 2018. Jack and Sharon are no longer there. Under new mgmt and new ownership. Very disappointed in what has happened to Wild Wave Resort.Original review:We LOVE Wild Wave Resort. Beachfront units allow you to sit in the AC while looking at the ocean (a must for Floridas mid-day heat and humidity). Two steps out the door and you are on the sand. Who could ask for more? WiFi is not strong, but who cares? Im here to unplug!

Nothing fancy is the only thing I can think of to say negative. I could write a few pages on how much we love this place. We spend most of our time relaxing on the deck just listening to the ocean, walk down the stairs and right onto the sand. Tiki bar (byob) and bbq grill on beach. Everyone gets together to cook and share food. We meet people from all over the country and the world, just to name a few. Summer rates are great. We have reservations this weekend.
